I'm usually really picky with how I like my nails to be done. I'm kind of a perfectionist. I usually have my mom do it but since she's 4 hours away now I can say this is now my go to place when I want to get my nails done. I always get shellac nails because getting acrylic ruins your nails and shellac isn't that bad unless you peel it off yourself (Don't do that!!). I believe Mai is the owner and she has been doing my nails everytime I went and she's awesome. She doesn't cut me and make me bleed. She's very careful. She seems like a sweet lady. They don't really talk much to you or maybe it's just me hahaha. Go here if you want your nails looking fresh and clean haha. Definitely will recommend to people. read more

I recently moved from East Side SJ and figured I should look up a new nail place. Unfortunately, experience here wasn't up to par when compared to the reviews, but that was partially due to being understaffed on a holiday. I arrived at 10:45am & they weren't open yet (they typically open at 10:15am). It may have a been a delay because of the crazy weather, so I dismissed it. The owner and manicurist got there at 10:50am. Mai, the owner, apologized for the delay. I came as a walk in and there were two ladies who had an appointment. Mai said it may take 40 mins to get to me. Bleh, okay. I didn't want to drive to another place in the rain, so I figured I'd stay. Once she started working on my nails, I showed her a picture of what I wanted. Oval shaped acrylic nails, pale pink. Throughout my service she was on the phone at least 50% of the time (answering calls, booking appointments, calling for back up), and unfortunately the shape ended up being what I wanted. She had asked me when she was shaping the first nail (which was more rounded) but as she continued on, they were more almond shaped. I'm VERY particular about how my nails are done. They are also not all the same length... If I'm going to spend 2 hours and $45, I expect the service to reflect what I asked for. Mai is very sweet and I'm sure they do a great job when they're not rushed. They just seemed very flustered and couldn't keep up with how many people they said yes to. I was finally out of there at 12:45pm, feeling indifferent. If I were to splurge on acrylics, I'd probably drive out of my way to go to Top Coat Nail Bar in ESSJ. read more

I've been here a few times, and I've always had a good experience. But today that unfortunately changed. Three of my cuticles bled during my manicure (and they still hurt a few hours later). Came here for the first time and had a wonderful experience. Mai, the owner, is very sweet and does a great job. She pays a lot of attention to detail. I did shellac and two 3D bows for $31. She gave me $5 off because it was my first time there. I absolutely love it :) The place is very clean and nicely decorated. Its located in a good area and was easy to get to with plenty of parking. I used to love Nails 2000 back in high school. Their prices are definitely the best in town: $10 for a mani and $15 for a pedi. They don't charge extra for doing white tips or nail designs either which is never the case. However, I must say that I have definitely been to many places where they will spend more time on your nails than Nails 2000. I noticed that my pedicures stay on longer at Pinky's, because they put in about 20 minutes more time. If you are looking for a cheap spa treatment, then this is the place! No regrets if it doesn't turn out the way you want because of how low the prices are. read more

My friend recommended this place over Passion Nail Salon, which we'd gone to before. She said that her manicures from Nails 2000 tended to last longer, so I agreed to give it a try. I'm not sure if they're typically so understaffed, but I was surprised to find only 3 women working on the day we had our appointment. Still, we were able to start our manicures at our scheduled time even given the walk-in clients. However, I noticed that the appointments that were called in were never written down anywhere - the owner simply agreed to a time slot and that was that. Not sure if this has been a problem, but like I said, it wasn't a problem for us. We both got gel manicures ($30). Their selection of colors is overwhelming, which is never a bad thing when you are as indecisive as we are. ;) I really wanted a more neutral base with a sparkly coat for New Years and I got exactly that! The manicurist was careful and precise. My nails look gorgeous and I can't stop staring at them. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm home. :) read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I came in here at exactly 3:40pm and came out at exactly 6pm. It took the lady 2 hours to remove my acrylic nails and paint them. She started off my filling my nails with a nail file and then dipped my nails into acetone and repeated this method 10 times!! And still she didn't fully remove the acrylic. that took 1 hour and 30min. I kid you not I was falling asleep on the chair. This method took so long because she never used an electronic filer. I then accidentally messed up my thumb nail and politely asked her to repaint it and she said no that she would fix it by applying more nail color and top coat I said okay and it looked very tacky so I asked her to please redo the nail and she got frustrated and went to the back to get acetone and cotton. She then removed the color and repainted my nail but she was rushing herself to finish and did a horrible job at fixing the nail. She then took my purse and asked me to sit in the waiting area to air dry my nails when I could have just kept sitting in the original desk with the fan she had there so I was confused because there was no one waiting to get there nails done next. Overall this place is unprofessional and cannot simple do a manicure so I can't even imagine if I were to get acrylics here. Save your time and money and go to a different place. read more

I had a gel manicure three weeks earlier somewhere else, but it got stained by some sharpie ink so I needed to have my nails redone. I went to Nails 2000 thinking this should be pretty easy being that my nails were already shaped from my previous manicure. Boy was I wrong. The lady struggled to remove the gel completely, she clipped my cuticles just border of bleeding ( I flinched and pulled my hands back several times ) and she filed it from a square to a one sided slant! I pointed it out for her to correct and she still didn't understand. Finally she cowered away into the office where she remained the rest of the time and another lady came out to correct and finish the job. I didn't get either of their names but stay away from the lady who wears a jade rooster necklace. My total for a gel manicure + pedicure = $54. Price wise is a tad more than other places which I wouldn't have minded if the service was actually good. There are plenty of other nail salons in the area. I'd go explore my options before coming here. read more

I wanted to like this place but I noticed a few problems. They do have a cute dog that hangs out there which could be a benefit if you like pets but beware if you have allergies. I sat at the pedicure station and the woman handling my manicure used a nail filer to file down my previous gel manicure. It was very painful. It would have been preferable if she would have used the rotary filer device. One other red flag is that the nail filer itself was obviously used. I was a little concerned that much of the stuff they were using had not been sanitized and was being reused by other customers. (I think they do wash in between!) They are also short staffed. My gel manicure is nice and I like the results but my nails still feel a bit sharp meaning they were not filed well. After my experiences in Asia with much cleaner conditions, I was a bit dissatisfied with this place. read more

This review is only based off of one signature pedicure. When I go back I will update review if needed. I walked in on Sunday and asked if they could fit me in for a pedicure. They said they could fit me in. They had a nice array Of nail polish colors. But I might have suggested having more brighter colors. The ladies who were doing the Nail's did not speak very good English but are still able to communicate just fine. The owner named Mai (i think) was fluent in English. I noticed that she would return calls if she missed a call to the salon. It was quite funny because I had tried calling before I went in and nobody had picked up but I showed up anyways. While I was getting my nails done she had called me back from her caller ID. My toes turned out just fine. The length of the service was just right. She was careful to make sure there was no paint on my skin. There was even a cute little dog there that belongs to the owner. I asked if the dog could sit on my lap while I got my toes done. It was very relaxing for me to pet her while i was also getting pampered. There was also a little snack area with tea and crackers for the customers. The price was fair for the service. Although I'm not sure if their prices were updated since the menu on the wall said $20 for pedicures but another menu she handed me said $23 for the classic pedicure. I definitely recommend this place and I will be coming back. read more

I came here after searching for a place to get my nails done on yelp! I'm so glad that I did. Super cute little salon, with an adorable little pup! Everyone is super kind and soft spoken and I loved it. I had a Shellac mani ($30) and Regular pedi ($20). The attention I received was above and beyond and I will continue to come here when my schedule permits! Their selection of color for gel was outstanding, my nails aren't thick and the color is evenly distributed! The pedi was pretty amazing, super attention given to my toes and all of them were shaped evenly and they are polished completely! My suggestion is that you come for yourself to experience the spectacular service here! A week and half passed from my visit, and my nails still look good, I had to renew the color myself but the nails still look in a good shape, the same for my toes! I'm changing the review from 3 to 4, in fact I may go there again :) Original review: I went to this place since it was very close to my house, because of their good yelp reviews and the reasonable price they have! The decision I regret now! I called to get an appointment and was seated right away! 3 different people worked on my nails and toes, the lady doing my pedicure seemed very inexperienced, it felt like she is doing this for the first time in her life, for every step she asked questions and looked at her other colleagues to get approval that what she is doing is correct! She wasn't able to finish my pedicure in 90 minutes, that was the time I asked for help and someone else left their customer and came and finished the work! I was already late for the rest of my evening! The result at the end was mediocre! I wish they were faster and more confident and knowing their job better! Most probably I won't go back! I LOVE this place! Let me start off by saying, I have been to NUMEROUS nail salons in the area and in others. I get my nails done every month religiously. I've been to Passion nails (right next door), and I've been to many other nail salons off De Anza. This one is in a completely different league. I always end up coming back here. Here's why: Prices: $10 Manicure?! $20 Pedicure?! This is so ridiculously cheap for the area. Mani/Pedi: I DESPISE places that take 1+ hours to do your nails. Nails shouldn't take that long! Mai, Nick and the other kind lady do your nails so quickly. They never have lacked on quality though, and are so clean. I've noticed them spray the tub for your feet after every single use. This should be a given, but unfortunately is not at many places. They have a wide selection of acrylics, gel polish and normal polish to choose from. They also usually do designs for free which is great. I've always been really happy with the process and happy with the outcome. At the end of painting each hand/foot they will always ask if you're happy and if you aren't (which has happened), they will happily fix or redo whatever it is. Service: Extremely close and nice family that runs the place. They're really friendly with all their customers and generally always offer you some tea if it's cold out. They always make sure you're happy when you leave and remember all their customers by name. read more

Came here on a friends recommendation, but for the money, the experience was awful. My $63 + tip gel mani/pedi turned out lumpy and uneven. It's not the worst, but for the price, the service, and the hygiene issues, it was not good. Ladies were friendly during the whole experience, especially Mai, but the lady who did my pedicure turned out to be very sketchy. Firstly, she forgot to put the final shine on the manicure Mai did (Mai had moved on to another customer), making them look matte. I pointed this out and she didn't know why. Mai asked to see them, and said the lady forgot that step, which is an honest mistake, but I could have walked out of there with unfinished nails. This is where things get really sketchy. Pedicure lady undercharged me by accident, which again is an honest mistake, but when she returned my cash so I could pay the whole thing by card, she kept the tip without telling me. I only noticed because I was looking in my wallet to give that bill to her as a cash tip, and it wasn't there. I'm glad I didn't have another of the same bill, because she was just standing there waiting for more. Only after I said out loud to myself that it was missing did I realize what was going on, and she finally went to the back and got the bill like she "forgot." I almost took it back from her. As for the hygiene, never once did I see them sanitize their hands. Mai randomly went and broke up some treats for their cute doggie and went right back to my nails! This happened in plain sight. Despite not cleaning their hands, they used their fingernails to clean up edges and help push back my cuticles. Also, as others have stated in these reviews, their tools are storied in exposed trays (not sure where the trays are stored), and some of the tools do not look clean. My nails are passably decent. The color is pretty. I will say friend's manicure color looked quite gorgeous (maybe doing it at the table rather than the pedicure chair made it better?). But the service is very weird, and I did not have a good time overall. I would say you get what you pay for, but I paid way too much for this. Never coming back. read more

Hands down, best deal for a manicure/pedicure you'll find in Cupertino. They have been here for about 10 years and have never raised their prices. A manicure is $10, pedicure $15. No extra charges for charges or designs, which is definitely a rarity. For the price you're paying, they do a great job. Ive been going here for about 8 years and have always been pleased. Every time I go somewhere else I regret it, knowing that I would have been more satisfied if I had gone to Nails 2000. Nick is definitely the best one there. The other ladies do a good job too but Nick pays more attention to detail when doing nails. They are all pretty friendly and they work hard. Only downside to this location is that during any formal event for high school such as Winter Ball, Homecoming or Prom its PACKED with girls from Monta Vista. So if you have any way of knowing when those events are, dont go then! =P Nails 2000 is a nice and clean place too. I never feel dirty siting in the pedicure chairs or with my feet inside the tub. Sometimes it's hit or miss. Most of the time I am really happy with the results but there have been a couple times where I felt rushed or felt unsatisfied with my nails. But honestly for a $10 mani and $15 pedi, I can't really complain THAT much. I remember once a couple years ago, I brought in a picture of a sort of complicated nail design that I had seen on a friend that had her nails done in Asia.... it required some sparkles, detailed nail art and crystals... All I remember is that I was more than happy with the results AND they charged me way less than I expected. For that type of detailed design I thought it was going to be like $40+ but I definitely didn't end up paying that much. MY POINT IS, is that they do a good job and it is cheap! Most of the time I just walk in but if it's around Monta Vista prom or homecoming time then you better call ahead first! Very clean salon, they've remodeled and it looks pretty nice. They have a wide range of colors, I always feel like I can find what I'm looking for. The staff has been working there FOREVER and they are all really friendly. Definitely give Nails 2000 a try. I came in here recently for a manicure. While my nails are indeed manicured, I'm not crazy about them. Pros: -No wait -Quaint shop -Cooking channel on -$10 plus tip Cons: -Not as clean as I'd like . . . -Filing where it scrapes the bottom of my pad -Two nails I had to fix. One she tried to glue, but that broke immediately. I would have just rather her cut it off. -MASSAGE? More like just putting on lotion. I wasn't expecting much as it was only $10, but I was the only person in there . . . hmmmmmmmmm It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't come again. Especially, since Passion Nails is literally just down the way. I was just in a pickle since the other place was closed. Maybe I would come for the mini-facial. It was only $25.
