Everyone has different needs when it comes to nails, but for me, Nails 2000 is all I need. I've always had fake nails, and as far as acrylic goes, Mai is a queen. She's quick, precise, and gives you exactly what you want. Pedicures here are great, too. Since it's a small place and I believe Mai is the only one that does acrylic, they get really busy! I haven't gone anywhere else since I've been to Nails 2000, and I don't really have any complaints, but I do wish she would get more gel colors. 5 stars, regardless! read more

I've been going to this place for almost a year now and the ladies that work here are angels! They're so friendly and welcoming. I gave it 1 star for effort on the part of the woman who gave me my manicure, which by the way is peeling off 4 days later. I walked in at 5 pm on a Thursday, nobody was there except the staff of three - one was asleep in the pedicure chair. Which turns out, was the one who did my manicure. Very sweet woman. My gripe is this: The TV was on and one of the other women was watching some Vietnamese show on her phone at full blast at the same time. It gets on ones nerves rather quickly. They do a very good job for the considerably lower prices you end up paying for most of the services. I got a french pedicure for $15, which is the SAME PRICE as a regular pedicure. Most nail goers know that salons usually charge around $5 extra for french, but not here! They spend a good amount of time with shape and cleanliness of your hands and feet which is also very important and just feels great afterwards. I've had almost everyone that works there, and i'm always pretty happy with the results. Walked in here late in the evening, and they still took me in for a mani-pedi. The salon is very homey, and the owners little Yorkie so cute! The nail techs both did a great job with nails, and took the time to make sure that my nails were done right and dried before I left. Don't think twice before going to get your nails done here. Literally the WORST pedicure I've ever had. Hot stones were blistering my skin, used no lotions/creams to moisturize... then tried to use a washcloth to cover the hot stones that hurt so bad!!! Told her to stop and just paint my nails. HORRIBLE horrible horrible, don't waste your money. read more

Great experience at this nail salon. I called ahead of time asking if I was able to come in at 7, an hour before they closed and the lady on the phone made sure I knew exactly where her salon was since it was my first time there. It was easy to find and I walked in, they started on my nails right away. Earlier that day I got my nails done at another nail salon but was so disappointed in the job that was done, so my gel was fresh and would be hard to get off. I let them know and the lady took her time making sure every little bit of gel polish was off and she was very gentle about it. It was time consuming since she was being careful with my nails and 30 minutes goes by, but she continued to take her time as if there wasn't only 30 minutes left of being open. The other lady (I am not good with names:/) started prepping my nails for gel and she also took her time. She put on the polish so nicely with NO bumps or extra gel! My nails aren't easy to work with since they are so short, but they made them look great. Both ladies were so sweet and never made me feel like I was asking for too much. The absolute worst experience I've ever had at a salon, I just created a yelp account and remembered from two months ago that I wanted to write a review about this place because my experience was so traumatizing. I've been a couple spaced out times in the last decade if friends suggest it, never had any experience to write home about but nothing terrible either. Recently, I went with my friend because she lives down the street and took me there. I called made and appointment for two manis and one pedi for 2:00, I wasn't too sure about what my friend wanted so I had just said a mani for her. We got there at 2:03 which I remember because I exclaimed to my friend "Wow, we're so on time for once!" The owner, who I recognized from previous times, said to us quite rudely "Next time tell me if you're going to be late." Firstly, there was absolutely no one inside except us two and second of all I've never ever been scolded at a salon for being 3 minutes late or even 20 sometimes. We looked at each other and kind of just shrugged because we were both in a rush and needed to get our nails done. Then I said I didn't have time for the pedicure and my friend just wanted a color change and he rudely exclaimed that we needed to tell him before. I've never had anyone in a salon get mad about these kinds of small changes but whatever we were in a time constraint. We picked out our colors and sat down. He started sawing at my acrylics and rushing through the job like I've never seen before, he did a HORRIFIC job but at that point I didn't even want to ruffle one of his irrational feathers. However, he completely forgot to do a nail and when he was about to start painting them I was forced to point it out which I think I did quite kindly. He stood up and looked at me and said "YOU KNOW HOW TO DO NAILS? DO THEM YOURSELF!" I had no clue what was going on! I didn't expect any kind of outburst from a little thing like that, my friend as well was shocked! Standing up he pointed at us and said Get out and as we walked out the door with our half done nails he called us stupid bitches. I sincerely have no idea what we did to deserve this kind of treatment since both of us are very mild mannered girls but it was appalling how he treated us. read more

I am a HUGE fan of this place - it's favorite nail salon. I've been going here since I was in jr. high and there is a reason why I am such a loyal patron. The quality of the work is high, especially considering the low price. I have lived in different cities and have yet to find a nail place in similar price range that does as great a job as Nails 2000. The service here is wonderful, they really listen to what you want and deliver. Nick is the BEST! He pays so much attention to detail and is so creative (he makes the prettiest designs). Got a gift certificate for a manicure so I went here. It's a small place with about three manicurists working. Walls are painted a seafoam color, and they have a little tropical island theme going on. I think the owner did my nails. I see their regular price for a manicure is $10, which is a bargain. She asked if I wanted a french manicure, and told me there'd be no extra charge. However, she went really fast like we were on some sort of manicure conveyor belt. I suppose it's great when you're in a hurry and she did a good job, but I wanted her to take more time. Three days later, the polish on several nails chipped. But then again I'm pretty harsh on my hands. The prices here are great and the manicurists seem nice, but it would be better if it lasted on longer. read more

I came here for an acrylic set and was not completely satisfied with how they turned out. They have a very limited color section for neutrals/nudes and they're all sheer so I'd suggest bringing your own nail polish. The lady made 3 or 4 of the acrylic nails crooked and lumpy and after I asked her to fix them twice they're still not straight. She also left tons of streaks and air bubbles on the polish which is totally unprofessional and defeats the purpose of going to a salon to get them done when I could've done the same job. This is a low key place that does lasting work for your nails. They work hard and try to run a busy business while doing it so, yes, they are going to be on the phone sometimes while taking care of you. I've read some of the negative comments and to be honest most of them sound like they're coming from spoiled brats. I have been going here for 9yrs! I love this place, its like home away from home! The service is fabulous, the price hasn't changed in 9 yrs which is crazy! I go here for the service and atmosphere! I live about 15 miles from nails 2000, so its not the closest nail salon. I was referred by a friend to this place almost 9yrs ago! Its $15 bucks for a pedicure in a massage chair. They do waxing and facials as well as nails. I have used all their services for the past 9yrs. I go to Nick mainly who is amazing! They even give you water with treatments! Mai, recently purchased Nails 2000. She and Le Li have been doing my nails and pedicures for over 20 yrs. Mai was previously in the Willow Glen area. I have followed her and her staff from location to location. I have recommended both of them to friends and family for years, everyone I have sent to them became a client. Mai and her staff are the most caring, knowledgeable, patient and creative people I have ever meant. At $15 for a pedicure with perks, it's a good bargain. The place is clean. At least when I've been there, I see them use cleansers to scrub the foot tubs after each use. The bathroom is very clean too. In the past, the owner made a point of opening new emery boards and pumice cubes so that I know she's using brand new stuff on a customer, but I don't know if everyone does it...or just her. The owner is very nice and friendly. She gives all of her customers cold bottled water and pedicure plastic slippers. Other places charge extra for these. The new massage chairs are amazing! Not just vibrates, but actually applies roller pressure. The foot massage is ok, they don't apply much pressure. it's more of a lathering of moisturizer than a massage. But, given the price and other perks above, I can't complain. But, if an amazing foot massage is critical to you, go to a real spa where they offer pedicures and reflexology. They do appointments, but they also take walk-ins. They only have 2 or 3 people working there usually. So, even if you call ahead and asks if they could take you, they may say yes and you'll end up waiting a bit... The other woman employee there is ok, but the guy is kind of rough... To make your nail color STAY ON, buy the Revlon 'stay on' sealant (no color) from Walgreens or wherever, and it WORKS. It also makes your nail color shine. read more

This place deserves 5 stars all around. the decor is tastefully done, clean and has a relaxing aura to it, the staff is friendly and makes you feel welcomed, they have a wide variety of colors and brands of nail polish to choose from, and the price is extremely reasonable for the quality of the work. I was very pleased with the outcome of my nails. Nick did an excellent job executing exactly what i asked for. He was quick yet gentle so none of the filing or clipping hurt at all. He did the design freehand and it came out beautifully. I usually only get manicures done because ive heard that sometimes pedicures can hurt if the people are too rough with cutting away the dead skin or cutting away the cuticles. I was a bit hesitant at first but decided to go try out the pedicure. It was amazing. he soaked my feet in warm/hot water with lemons. He went through the whole massage with a salt scrub. After all the cleaning, he moisturized me..with Victoria's Secret products! How many places actually use Victoria's secret products. This is the first place for me! I got a very "springy" color and suggested a simple line of rhinestones across my big toe. It's not too flashy but adds just enough sparkle to be noticed. I will definitely be coming back to Nails 2000 to retouch my nails next week. I can't wait to go back and see what other designs Nick is capable of! Love this place. Highly recommended! read more

You won't find me checking in there anymore. Too far, too inconsistent. I've gone 3 times. My sister had a fab leg massage, I got nothing on any visits. 1 of 3 manicures held up well. The one that held up well was after I complained and the owner said to make my appointment with him. He did the best job on my cuticles, etc. that day. I was there the past Saturday - in and out in 45 minutes. It felt like a rush job. I want to be pampered when I do things for me. My friend has been going there for years but I think she has gel or acrylic nails. All that aside, by that evening 3 nails were already chipped and 2 were quite noticeable [french manicure.] So for my money I'll find someplace closer to home. read more
