After I stopped going to another place in sterling heights, I needed a new place to get my nails done. This place is closer to me so I figured why not try it. The owner here is seriously the coolest guy and Mary is super funny and does a good job too. I went to a different nail tech when mary was out of town/owner was booked and my nails broke two days later. I came back a week later (this was when we had that huge snowstorm so the salon was closed and I couldnt go back the next day after my nails broke) and the nail tech who did that set wanted to charge me full price! I was like no!! So they only gave me 10% off because they said I should of came back the next day. Ughh! Oh BTW if you need your nails taken off for whatever reason, ask the owner or Mary to do it because I had some girl with long hair do it and she literally was hurting me because she was taking off my nails forcefully with a fake nail! I literally had to tell her OW that hurts and suggest to her that maybe she should use the drill. She used it for two passes and then tried to go back to the jamming the fake nail technique. She clearly doesnt take nail health into account. I wont let her touch my nails again. The other nail techs actually soak the nails and are GENTLE with the removal. So would I recommend this place? YES I would because they arent expensive and the employees are pretty friendly. My recent experience was painful. The tech I got was rough with her tools, didn't say anything every time I flinched, she filed my skin, my left pinky was bleeding & she didn't even acknowledge it, top coat is not smooth & I got charged extra for custom service because tech didn't understand what shape i wanted my nails. kept shaping them wrong. Went in for a dip manicure. Asked the nail tech not to file my old dip off with a drill. Instead for her to soak them in acetone and scrape them with a tool. She assured me she would not use the drill to remove the polish. Lone behold she ends up using the drill to remove all of my dip, which left my nails thin as paper. I got dip again, it didn't even last a full 7 days. It chipped and broke off. The place is clean, and everyone is nice. But if you want to save your nail health go somewhere else. read more

Definitely not a place I'll ever go to again. Obviously have a disconnect with their employees and their pricing. Charged me $20 more than what they said when I called. I called and asked for their pricing for an acrylic fill in. The girl said 25$, 35$ with shellac. I said it'll just be the acrylic in the color milky white, no Shellac or polish. she said $25 ( i prefer to put my nail design stickers on and top coat) then the lady with the lip filler was the one doing my nails. I didn't talk much but when I did I was polite. She didn't talk much either other than to ask me if I wanted the nails cut down, if my nails always grow "that way" and if I like near the shop. All of which I answered politely. She clearly had an attitude and was being rough and rushing through my nails like it was a nascar race. They didn't have to color acrylic I ask for which she said was the same thing. It's not. She used ombré white which isn't the same as milky white. Look it up you'll see. It's a difference. I always see this place on my way home from the grocery store. And today i thought I'd try it out. But i wish is didn't. Poor attitude poor service and charged me $20 more than they stated the price would be over the phone. It is what it is. Just leaving my review and displeasure to help anyone looking for a place to spend their hard earned money. And this place isn't it. I love this salon and the people who work there. my husband, my special-needs sister, and I go together for our pedicures and they always seat us together. My husband has sensitive feet and is treated gently by them. My sister looks forward to the pedicure and massage chair. She is treated with kindness and respect. They used colors we didn't ask for and then did a completely awful job. Got my nails done for my birthday and 3 of my nails broke within less than a week of having them on. The woman who did them took FOREVERRR and I mistakenly thought it was because she was a perfectionist at her craft. Untrue. It seems that she just barely knew what she was doing so it didn't go quickly nor smoothly & the quality of the work speaks for itself. I've been to this location numerous times over the years. I've not had consistent service, but I had a really phenomenal pedicure today. I always try to get pedicures during off times and not noon on a Saturday when every other person does too... I think this is a huge factor in service. I had a nice relaxing time and it was quick, but not rushed. This locale is close to home and there was no wait at 12:30pm on a Monday. YaY! I'm a fan. read more

I have got my nails done here multiple times and I'm not sure what their problem is there. I got shellac and I also asked for the holographic powder to be put on my nails. The first lady that did my nails did okay but when I told her that I wanted the hologram powder she seemed so confused and didn't know what I was talking about but shook her head like okay. So she gets done with my shellac and forgets about the hologram powder. I ask her about it and she's dumbfounded so the owner Kim comes over and says to me why didn't you tell her you wanted the hologram powder? I begin to tell her that I did she must of not known what I was talking about. So the owner makes me wash my hands and rushes through it and puts it all over my nails. I'm not sure why the other girl couldn't rub powder on my nails. It's not that damn hard. So everything is alright I go home and the next day every single nail started having like a spider crack on them almost like the shellac was already starting to come off. I was extremely disappointed that only after one day my nails started chipping. That never happens. I was contemplating whether or not to go back because you know when you do they are bound to have an attitude. So I end up going back and telling them that I was here yesterday and my nails are starting to crack. After I showed her she looked like I was making it up and thinking there's no way that they are cracking. So I wasn't sure if it was the hologram powder and rushing through it or what it was. Anyway the manager ended up redoing doing my nails but with a attitude the whole time. I'm killing her with kindness saying thank you so much for taking care of me I really appreciate it. She's like mmmhmm and barely even talking or saying a word. So it's completely awkward the whole time. I wish there was a zero rating. Because in all honesty that's what they deserve. I've been to Nails 4 U many times in the past, so I'm not sure if it's just some of the new people that have been there or horrible quality Shellac they're investing in but I will never go back. I went in just for a Shellac Manicure. While the gentleman was in the middle of doing my nails we went out for a smoke break during the two minutes my hand was under the uv lights. I thought the color was beautiful but in less then 24 hours it started turning brown. Not sure why. I didn't bother going back to complain because most the people that work their seem to not understand English or they can barely speak English. I haven't had the best experience there the last couple times and against my better judgement I figured I give them this one last chance. I would recommend going to Lakeside Mall for your nails. They did a much better job and they spoke English so you could carry a conversation while sitting with them. read more

I would not use this place for acrylics. They use MMA acrylic which is banned by the FDA because it is so dangerous for your nails and can cause other health problems over time. These include respiratory problems, miscarriages, liver problems, and kidney lesions You can tell because when you try to remove these nails it is gooey. This is why they drill the crap out of your nails as well. MMA does not stick to the nail very well so they need to drill the nail down for it to stick. This is also the reason acrylic nails will make your nails sore for a few days after getting them done. Go find a place that uses EMA acrylic. This salon does very good pedicures; however, is not good for the acrylic nails AT ALL. read more

I am a licensed cosmologists i actually got my license to do nails first then switched over to hair. With that being said im telling you STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! Seriously. I went there for a full set and the guy did mine. He was rude and did not listen to me when i told him how i wanted my nails done. I never told him that im in the profession. Very unsanitary and I definitely would say never get a wax there I was watching and they double dip into the wax and that is very very dirty very unsanitary. I will not return. I would never recommend this place ever. First of all their shellac selection is so crappy. Catch this. As I was walking In this older man walked in before me, (you could tell he wasn't 100% normal) with some kind of mental issue. As he walked in the lady greeted him and asked what he wanted and he replied, "I want my finger and toe nails clipped". She said ok and asked him to sit on the pedicure chair. He then asked her "what should I do now?" All the staff laughed way at him and said " we'll take your shoes off first" he said "oh ok.. what about my socks?" They laughed even more and said well duh you have to take your socks off! He said "oh ok" looking very confused but went along with it. As she clipped his toe nails she continued to make fun of his questions and how he'd get his toes clipped if he didn't have to take his shoes and socks off. I felt beyond horrible.. and sooooo sad for this man. She then told him, "ok sir ur total is 20$-no 15$. He payed her and left. 15-20$ for what!? For clipping his toes and nails??? They have a sign on the door that says 20$ shellac. They totally ripped him off knowing he wasn't smart enough to ask questions. Last Saturday was the second time I went to this place. First time was ok, so I decided to give it another try. This time, I wanted gel nails (mine were breaking a lot and I wanted to see if Nails 4 U was a good place for artificial nails). Well, that place is like a production line. I had scheduled an appointment for 4:30 PM. I had to wait more than 40 minutes even though I had scheduled an appointment. Then, when I was telling the guy what I wanted done, this other manicurist (Sandra) asked me what I was doing and when I said gel, she said out loud for anyone to hear that gel was very bad for my nails, and she said that I was going to damage my nails pretty bad. That I should get Shellac instead. I found it very rude because I never asked her opinion. She was just trying to sell a service she offers, and I'm pretty sure that if she didn't offer Shellac, she wouldn't have said anything. Then let's go to the guy that was doing my nails.... The guy is anythng but gentle. It seemed like he was sanding a brick and not my nails. I had mentioned to him, as soon as we started, that I wanted a manicure first. My cuticles are thick and grow a lot and I cannot have artificial nails put on without cleaning that up first. He put the nails on, and when he was done, he decided to trim my cuticles. He never soaked my nails in water and he simply got a nipper on his drawer (I always bring my stuff with me, however he never used it) and started cutting my cuticles. I don't know if the nipper was sterilized or not. Probably not. My cuticles were soooo dry, and I was in a lot of pain because he was cutting more than he should. Guess what happened??? I started bleeding (he cut me four times!!!!) I was extremely upset. He realized there was a line, and he started rushing. He applied nail polish in a cheap a*** way and there was a 3 cm gap between my cuticles and nail bed in every single nail he applied polish on. When he was almost done, there was a smudge. I asked him to fix it, and he simply decided just to aplly more top coat on the nail. It didn't fix the problem, now just made it worse. He told me I was done and I went to dry my nails. I was beyond pissed at this point. I had to ask another lady to do fix my nail. She fixed it but wasn't happy to do so. Please, don't go to that place. It's not worth the money, time or frustration. To put it simply, I had the same rotten service that the other reviewers with bad service had. The staff was rude, rushed, unfriendly, and trying to up-sell you constantly. I visit this salon every once in a while. I decided to get my nails done for my daughters wedding. I got my toes painted on Thursday morning and didn't put shoes on for 8 hours until that evening for the rehearsal dinner. When I looked at my toes the next morning all the polish was gone off my toes. I returned to the salon right away. They tried to blame it on me that I put my shoes on and messed up my nails. They were very RUDE & UNFRIENDLY. They quickly fixed my toes and tried rushing me out. Would not even speak to me! I will never go back. My boss talked me into trying shellac on my nails. This place was close to my house so, I decided to try it. They were friendly enough. My nails looked good when she finished them, but upon closer inspection there was a large gap from my cuticle to where the polish started. It looked like I had a couple weeks' worth of growth already. I think they do this so you have to get them redone sooner. Then I noticed that the tips were not filed well. Also, when looking from the tips of my nails most of them are noticeable uneven, thicker or thinner in spots. A couple of them were very rough. The next day, less than 24 hours, one of my nails snagged on my clothing and peeling a large chunk if the polish off. I went right back in there and a guy fixed it. He didn't seem too happy that he had to repair it, but oh well. Needless to say I will probably not be returning to this salon. read more

Took my daughter in this morning for eyebrow and lip waxing. They completely waxed off a quarter to a third of her left eyebrow. I was stunned. I tried to hide the shock from my daughter, but failed. She started crying. I started crying. They still charged me $10. I called them 10 minutes later and expressed my TOTAL dissatisfaction with being charged for a hack job and requested a refund. "Tom" reluctantly said he'd oblige. I didn't want to go back so my husband stopped in on his way home from work. Tom was apparently surprised I hadn't come in myself. He asked "She's not coming back?" My husband said "No." Tom just stared at him until he said "Can I please just get her money back? It's crap that I even have to ask. Don't you think you should be a lot MORE apologetic and a lot LESS questioning of me? They both left here crying!" Tom gave him the money.
