WOW! I've been to 6-7 nail salons in the past 5 yrs or so, and this one's a winner. After reading some Yelp reviews, decided to give it a try as a walk-in on a recent Wed night. Pedi area is private and relaxing, and experience was great on so many levels - great trim with no flinching, not even once (have 2 ingrowns), great massage and no awkwardness with salon technician. Now the mani - my own nails are tragic - I'm a lifelong, subconcious nail biter - and have had acrylics on for years, but took the last year off hoping I could get some growth on my own - no such luck. So I resigned myself to just getting regular cuticle trims and protein on my nails, as they are just too short to put anything over. But Timmy told me could give me a set of acrylics, so I went for it. So glad I did! It's now been 1.5 wks, no pop-offs on my short nails, and french is still perfect (gel locked it in). Also, I didn't plan to get this set, and I was a walk-in at 6pm - the owner and my nail tech (Timmy) couldn't have been more gracious even though they wound up staying about an hour after closing time. I will definitely be back, again and again. But from now on, I'll make an appt. - I think I just hit it lucky that night as a walk-in. You won't regret trying this salon. Also, the place is well decorated and spotlessly clean! Parking can be tricky here, but I used the CVS lot across the street, would also use McDonalds lot adjacent to the salon, and learned there's a large city lot just steps away. read more

This is absolutely the best place to get your nails done in the area! The service is amazing, my gels look great for up to 3 weeks, and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend! Just make sure you call ahead, they book up very quickly. read more

I just got a manicure from here a week ago and the manicurist cut me while cutting my cuticle. My finger started hurting the next day but i ignored it thinking nothing of it. This morning I woke up and my entire finger was swollen, I had puss coming out of my finger and I was in pain. I went to a walk in clinic in Braintree and it turns out I have an infection. This place was a complete disappointment. My sister made an appointment 2 months in advance for 4 of us to get our nails done. When we arrived the place was overrun. We spent over an hour waiting, between the waiting room and the spa room. The girls doing the pedicures barely used the pumice stones on our feet, no massage to speak of, and all our manicures chipped within a day or two. I've been going to N&S for years now. I don't go any other place. N&S is the cleanest place and I trust it. They always upgrade their equipment and have a wide selection of services. It's a great place to go with a bunch of girls since they have lots of seats in the back. read more

I really wanted to like this place because it is convenient and the prices are good. I gave it a few tries... First time I got a gel manicure. It was okay. The next time I got a mani/pedi. Okay nothing special. The third time I got CND shellac and it popped off in whole pieces like a plastic fake nail within a few days. I have never experienced this with any other gel manicures. I went back and asked what was happening and was told it was likely due to the light color I picked. (Which BTW is my usual and have never experienced this before.) The girl at the front said I could get it redone and she would take $10 off and I should use OPI gel. Well I did and the same thing happened. So I went back and asked about it and was told it had to be because my nails were thin. So I took a break & didn't wear polish for a month. I called to make an appointment and was told I could come in but they wouldn't tell me who the appointment would be with. Bizarre. I was disappointed as I have been to other places and never had an issue with the shellac or gel. And I find it really weird that they wouldn't tell me who my appt would be with. I finally decided ALL SET. Pros: convenient loc, good prices, decent atmosphere, seems clean, the owners are nice. Cons: questionable gel process/product? Closed sun & mon. I went to see Jen to get my eyebrows waxed but the wax was too hot and my skin got burned. Nothing extreme but I have red bumps all over my eyebrows. On a bright side I really like the shape. If you do decide to have your brows waxed here, please make sure to tell Jen to check the temperature of the wax. read more

It was recommended that I try Nails & Spa 3 years ago when I moved to MA. I have been a loyal customer ever since, and always satisfied with the service and atmosphere at this salon. However, I have grown somewhat disappointed over the past 2 years as they seem to lose high quality staff pretty frequently, which becomes disappointing and concerning after you start to build a repo ire with your favorite techs. After today's appointment, though satisfied with my mani and pedi, I have made the decision to go somewhere else. When it came time for payment (with my debit card), I kindly asked the owner if she could add more money for the tip. I've been doing this for 3 years with no issue, and you usually are given the tip in cash from the register to give to your technician. However, I was rudely and hastily asked by the owner, "You don't have any cash??. You need to make sure you do next time". Needless to say, I didn't appreciate the condescending comment nor agree with this treatment to a loyal customer. I am confident in saying that I will no longer be a customer at this place. I have been going here for years. The staff is always so nice and they do an awesome job. I have a tendency to get ingrown toenails and they always fix them for me!! They do the best Gel Manicures. I can easily get 3 weeks from them! Love it here! read more

This place is super clean and well maintained. They take their time and do a great job. I've dropped by a couple times and they were booked solid, so I would recommend making an appointment to be seen. Excellent service! Best nail salon around. They're a bit pricey but it really is worth it. The staff is extremely friendly. I've had almost all of the girls do my nails at least once and they're all fabulous. There are no amateurs here. Jen, the owner, is extremely nice and is on a first name basis with all her customers. She does the best waxing around. I have a hard time trying to find people to do my eyebrows since they're so thin, but whenever she does them they come out absolutely amazing. If you plan on going from Thursday-Saturday, definitely make an appointment because walk-ins can take up to 2 hours. They are just that busy. Their hours are from 9-7 but sometimes they are willing to make the exception of making an appointment earlier or later. This place is so clean. It does not look like all the other nails salons around. It really feels like you're in a spa. It's absolute top quality. Their services include nails, waxing, tanning, and facials. Only downside is that it is hard to find parking since there is only street parking available. read more

So I went here with my friend today, I was expecting a good time because I read some good reviews and walking in, it looks like a nice place. We started with a pedicure and mine was not too bad but they cut my friends toe and it it still swollen two hours later. I moved on and got a manicure. I asked for French manicure acrylics and I specifically asked for no gel. The woman doing my nails was doing fine then decided to take out the gel. I asked what it was and I told her I did not want gel, but she told me that SHE thought it would look better and started to put it on. It immediately started to burn my nails and especially under the gel light. I have a pretty high pain tolerance and it almost made me cry. I told her it hurt and she said it was her bad but continued to put the gel on my nails, by the time she finished with the gel after I told her it burned a couple times, she made my pinky finger bleed and never cleaned the blood off the white acrylics. This has honestly been the worst manicure I've ever gotten, the white part of the French acrylics does not match and it is streaky, my fingers are still sore after two hours. One of my fake nails is already falling off, I will not be returning. read more

Awful. I will never go back. The owner, Jen could not be any more insincere! I called and asked if they can accommodate me during the day and she said: "yes honey of course honey ok honey"! I feel like there are dollar signs in her eyes and thats all that matters to her! She did such a bad job on my nails and it took her one and a half hours because she was picking up the phone, talking and making appointments as she as working on my nails! They were obviously short handed and that is ok, however I would be so much happier if Jen told me on the phone (when I called to make an appointment), that they are too busy and can not see me this day but any other time! Instead, I ended up with nails different length on my right and my left hands...the gell is already pilling off, I just went there yesterday! I called next day and said that I was not happy with the work Jen did but never heard back from them. I find that very unprofessional. From now on I will go to Zen Braintree. So mu better! read more

I wrote this same review on Google Reviews and I'm just going to copy and paste it here because it sums up exactly how I feel: I use to go to another Nail Salon in braintree my whole life. The place was rated the Best of Braintree for a long time, so I thought it was just that... The best of Braintree. So I didnt bother trying other places often because I thought I probably wasnt going to find anything better (even though the place was too loud, impersonal, and blindingly white for my taste.) So I would try other places when i was in a different town or just didnt want to deal with the noise and headaches of the first place, but no where ever stood out to me as any better. But then one day this place didn't have any openings so my mom suggested we try Nails and Spa. Oh my god. When I say it is by far the overall nicest nail salon I've ever been too- The girls there are sweet as can be. They're very funny and listen to your day and are overall very professional. The aesthetic is classic and chic yet still very calm and serene. It is a very quiet salon. They have private pedicure rooms, with two pedicure chairs in each. So when you go for a pedi with a friend or relative, the two of you will wont have to worry about other people overhearing your conversations. Most importantly, they are very good at what they do. I have never been disappointed with any service there. I cannot recommend this Nail Salon any higher. I will never go anywhere else. read more

I never thought I'd give this place two stars but they really dissapointed me the other day. I'll start off by saying I've been to this salon several times over the years and the quality has always been very good however I do not go there frequently because even though it says they take walk ins you end up waiting even when you make an appointment because they're "so busy" and they are a lot pricier than other local salons. Nonetheless they always do a good job (especially on eyebrows) so I go there when I have time to kill and am in need of a serious manicure/eyebrow wax. I liked them so much I got my sister and mom gift cards there which they both used and were very satisfied with the quality. The only problem was they made an appointment and as usual had to wait because the receptionist forgot to put their names down (according to the manicurist). Which is not a big deal, it happens, and they waited for like 15-20 minutes. They looked great so this thursday I thought why not go there since my eyebrows were in serious need of grooming. I called and asked if it was possible to make an eyebrow appointment that day, the receptionist said "what time?" and I answered, "When do you think you can fit me in?" and she said "6:30" so I said fine, gave her my name and booked it. It was 5:00 when I made the appointment and I had other errands to run so I rushed through them because I didn't want to be late. I get there at 6:25- walk in and there's a ton of people waiting and I can hear the receptionist saying to the woman in front of me " There's two nails and spas in Braintree, they copied us they stole our name and just made it Braintree Nails n Spa, they're the number that pops up first when you google us. You must've made an appointment with them but we can take you in 20 minutes." So I'm like, "oh no, so do you have an appointment for an Elise for an eyebrow waxing at 6:30?" and she just shook her head no so i asked how long I'd have to wait and she said 20 minutes-translation:45 minutes. So I said no thanks and asked where this other nails and spa salon was and she told me down the street-looking visibly surprised I chose not to wait. So I go down the street to other salon and walk in and say I have an appointment at 6:30-what do you know, I don't have an appointment there either! Luckily they took me right away and my eyebrows came out beautifully to top it off it only cost me $8! I was still confused as to what happened though so I checked google and my call log to see where I made the appointment, lo and behold the number matched the address of the first Nails and Spa I went to and infact they are the first number thet shows up on google! So the receptionist lied to my face and to the woman in front of me. Great business etiquette. I know the salon is busy and successful but there is no excuse to lie to a customer and make up an excuses for why they overbooked. And it really annoys me that she blamed it on Nails and Spa Braintree, a new business trying to start up and who acted nothing but friendly and professional. I was in dire need of a manicure this past Thursday night....Christmas Eve, and although the salon was closing and the owner Jen had 50 people coming over to her home to celebrate the holiday, she stayed open and painted my nails and toes HERSELF! Talk about a great business owner - it is no surprise that she has won Best in Braintree every year in a row! Not only did my nails come out beautiful, but the salon is impeccably clean and they have more color options than I have ever seen...EVER. Of the countless times I've been to Nails and Spa I have never had a negative experience. Every technician there is so professional and particular and they really listen to how you want your nails to look. While I'm usually a "you get what you pay for" type, I am always surprised by how much value I get from this place. The prices are excellent and my nails stay perfect for much longer than anywhere else I've been, including the nicer Boston salons. Everyone is so personable I never end up wanting to leave. I went to Nails and Spa after reading all the positive reviews on yelp. I'm usually a regular at Nails by Nancy, but I got the impression from the reviews that this salon uses higher quality product. To my dismay, after asking for a full set the tech pulled out the mystery powder in a little unmarked jar- exactly the same as every discount nail salon I've ever been too (if the powder is not in it's original LABELED jar- you can be 99% sure it's MMA- cheap and NOT intended for use on nails. So I opted for a pink and white set (they use Creative brand- solar) and although I'm happy I have actual nail product on my nails- they are Super thick and unenven. (I paid $50 for pink and white- reg acrylic full set is $35)The salon itself was beautifully furnished, clean and the staff is super friendly and nice. I would definitely reutrn for a spa service or pedi... But as far as artificial nail services, I'm running back to Nails by Nancy for my next fill- I think their techs are more experienced and at least there, you get what you pay for! read more
