They call me at 1:30 asking if I could go in earlier but I told them I won't be able to because I live on the north side then drop kids by centennial hills then drive there that alone will take over an hour. They said it's ok, not a problem. I get there they said they had a "glitch" in the system so they already had someone booked at the same time and I had to wait longer. So I said it happens and I completely understand and just rescheduled in 2 weeks. I mean they could've told me this over the phone so I didn't have to drive but I was trying to be understanding. Come 2 weeks, I go in just to find out according to the hair dresser that the whole nail staff was gone and on vacation! Wtf?!?! Really? I can't believe what just happened. I started to go to this salon about a year ago when I was new to Vegas and discovered a Groupon for the salon. I called and made an appointment and went and was happy with the service. I haven't been for a few months because of COVID. I was scrolling through Groupon and saw that I could purchase another Groupon every 120 days for the salon so I bought two. One for me and one to give away as a Christmas gift. I just went in for my appointment, it was almost 45 minutes late as usual and while I was waiting I was listening to the owner, Angie, trash politicians to another client. Now I may agree with some of the things she was saying but I don't think any customer should have to listen to that type of talk while they're waiting for a service. I was sat for my manicure and I told Kanani, the nail tech that I had a Groupon. She said, "we don't honor those". I said "what do you mean?" She said "we ask that you get a refund from Groupon and pay us directly." I told her I couldn't do that because they don't give refunds only credits and I didn't bring cash to pay her and that I budget every dollar of my paycheck so I didn't have the extra cash to spend again. Angie, the owner said "we don't honor those and you're a repeat customer, this isn't your first time here". I said, " I haven't been here for months and the fine print says I can purchase every 120 days". She said, "those are Groupons rules and we make our own rules". She said "I've told you that before". I said, "no you haven't, I haven't bought a Groupon for here since the first time I came at least a year ago and regardless it's false advertising if you aren't going to honor your offer on Groupon and a bad business practice". I remained calm mainly because I was in shock that she was refusing to honor the Groupon even after I told her I didn't bring extra money to spend. I had gathered my purse, and was getting ready to leave and then she said, "If you don't like it Michelle you can get out!!", in a rude tone of voice. Kanani, the nail tech was apologizing, she's always been nothing but friendly, Angie did absolutely nothing to try to accommodate or help the situation. I couldn't believe the way she was talking to me while she was working on another client. It was disrespectful and shocking. I'm disappointed in the treatment I received and will not be returning. I wish Kanani the best and hope they (the nail salon owners) stop advertising on Groupon so this doesn't happen to someone else. *Edit: Read the negative reviews below, they do this regularly. Seems like they are using Groupon for advertising and never honoring the Groupon for their customers. It's a scam. Kanani should get a job somewhere respectable. I have to preface this by saying I've never ever had a professional manicure or pedicure before. (Yes I am a big pleb.) So I don't really have anything to compare it to. But I do know what good service is and how I felt during the appointment. Honestly I was a little hesitant given the reviews/comment war on Yelp. I came about 10 min earlier than my appointment and was seated right away (perks of a 9am appt). They have a decent color selection and glitters are free! Ally took care of me today and made me feel relaxed. (Because it was my first time getting my nails done, I was nervous LOL.) I liked that Ally and Angela and Brianna were joking with each other--it was a fun environment to be in. The massage chair for the pedicure. Oh my goodness. I want one for my home. When I found this place on Groupon I called and confirmed the Groupon pricing and they said to just go directly through them and they'd honor the Groupon price, which they did. Even without the groups the prices are great. The place is clean, the people are friendly, and the champagne was bubbly! What more could I ask for! Like others, this is my first time pulling out Yelp to give a NEGATIVE review. After contacting Groupon customer service my ability to review anything had been disabled... interesting. We're on vacation and ordered this Groupon, when we called to schedule an appointment they put us out 4 days. I said allowed multiple times to confirm with my girlfriend that we'd have to extend our stay to make it and we agreed. When we arrived we were told they the appointment was a day prior. The guy was rude and blamed us over and over when we were confident the conversation we had days earlier was very clear. I'm suspicious after reading other Groupon folks that this establishment is aware of the 3 day refund policy through Groupon and judging our experience with how the guy handled the situation that this is something they do to get free money. Groupon was no help so I hope adding our experience to Yelp with the others helps people make better informed choices as where to bring their business. I am new to the area, I've explored about 12 different nail salons since I've moved here and have been greatly disappointed each time. I have been getting gel manicures/regular pedicures consistently for 5 years, and from LA to Las Vegas, Angela is the BEST Nail Tech I have ever had. From Angela's incredible quality/care of service, to the salon's accommodating schedule, to the affordable prices, Nails at the Lakes is now my new mani/pedi homestay and I will never go to another Nail Tech if I can help it. A few review higlights: Quality - As I'm sure all regularly gel-manicured people have experienced, typically when my nails grow out, the bottom portion of the paint near the matrix starts to lift and snag on everything. After my first session with Angie, my manicure did not lift for the first time! When I went back for another mani, I asked her how she did it, and she explained that she takes great care to remove any oil residue or cuticle skin on the nail that can cause lifting (Russian manicure.) At another point during the same session, Angie took the initiative to redo a nail without me asking. The point I am trying to make is that Angie is educated in her craft, dedicated to providing top service, and delivers quality nails. Atmosphere - Angie was working on another client when I arrived, but she saw to it that I was able to relax during my wait. Immediately she had me seated in a pedicure chair with the massager running and the pedicure foot bath going. She was the only manicurist working at that moment, but I appreciated that she wanted my wait to be enjoyable. - So affordable! Gel Mani + Regular Pedi for $45, and at Angie's Supreme quality? You can't beat that. There is also $5 for gel removal, which was communicated to me when I made my appointment; I appreciated the transparency in that! - Any negatives? Only that Angie is one person, so the schedule can get a little tight, but she is very willing to work with clients' schedules. I also would not be upset if there was a bit more color selection, though the existing selection does have many options that I like. read more

I needed a nail salon that would remove my acrylic because I had actually cracked my natural nail underneath it. Don't ask, it sucked. Love Angie at Nails at the Lakes. Since moving here six months ago, I have gone to Angie exclusively. She caters to her customers whims and desires with beautiful designs varying from Golden Knight decals for game night or Mickey Mouse nails for their Disneyland vacation. When my best friend from out of town visited me, she requested Frozen themed nails for the release of Frozen II; Angie did such a phenomenal job that my best friend received numerous compliments from the parents, kids and staff on the pediatric wards where she works. Whenever I bring in Pinterest posts of what I want, Angie makes it a reality. I've had beautiful jade and gold and then later, I've had pink peonies-which speaks to Angie's versatility. Her gel nails have lasted me three weeks easily, which is incredible since I work in a hospital and use hand sanitizer and wash my hands a minimum of 40-60 times a day for six days a week. The reason why she her nails last so long is due to her dedicated nail prep. It's also the reason why my natural nails are also at the strongest and longest they have ever been. In addition, she does a phenomenal job in removing cuticles (hands down my favorite part for the clean freak in me) so that my nails look presentable for work and phenomenal for going out. If I could give 0 stars I would. I bought a Groupon for this place for a friend of mine because I loved going here and she had been here before and loved it- well she called to schedule an appointment and they tried saying they were booked until the middle of July even though the Groupon expired in June. I called and they said they would honor only $30 of the $55 paid after it expired. The guy I spoke with (forget his name but the owners husband) he is a clown. I told him I saw all the negative reviews on Yelp about how they are handling Groupons. He claims Yelp only posts the bad reviews and they are so busy and can't get anyone else in until then. Which I know is Bullshit. They usually are like a week or two booked not two months. I told him he is running a scam and he tried saying they weren't they were just busy. They lost two customers this day and absolutely are a joke. Especially the guy I spoke to. A piece of advice- don't offer Groupons if your going to scam people and not honor the full amount. If someone calls to book an appointment and you don't hve anything available until after the Groupon expires you should still honor it if they call before the expiration date. Clearly you are starving for business or you wouldn't have Groupons or be trying to rip customers off. Good luck to you guys.
