I've been here only a few times, mainly because I usually don't spend summers in Cambridge. I loved this place and recommended it to all my friends. I was finally excited to have a reliable salon I could go to for my bi-weekly pedis. Well I guess I have to keep searching. That was one of the worst pedis I've ever had. The lady spent maybe five minutes cleaning my cuticles and there's still dead skin on them now post-pedicure. The "stone massage" hurt and my skin was red from where she kept rubbing the stone against my ankle. I think she was just very careless so I literally stared her down to make sure she did an okay job with the polish. Also, I love places that do the plastic wrap since it's cleaner, but they don't clean the little plastic piece that goes over it, or at least they didn't between the person before and me. So what's the point then? Germs can definitely collect there. They are also a mess in terms of scheduling. They overschedule and rush through the people. Although I did notice that someone who started a pedi five minutes before me finished five minutes after me so I think mine was especially rushed. But seriously, I'd rather pay the extra five bucks and go to the other place two blocks down and actually get a pedi worth paying for. read more

This salon has always accomodated me over the past 5 years, and they are a business that is welcoming to people with disabilities. They are very friendly and kind. I used to bring my daughter in her wheelchair, and they treated us well everytime. I appreciate they are efficient because I usually don't have more than a half hour to get my nails done. They do a precise job, and I've never felt they messed up. Bring your own nail polish if you have concerns about chipping. Everyone knows that. read more

I received the worst service ever from this place. They claim on their services that they provide acrylic removal but when I went in they said they've never provided such a service even though it's a lie. The owner and man at the front desk were unnecessarily rude and laughed in my face. They also claimed only two people there knew how to do acrylics. This is not my first time receiving horrible treatment but it will definitely be the last. I also have noticed they treat white customers much better than black ones. I went about a week ago to get a regular pedicure, a dip powder extension set, and my eyebrows done. Very clean, all precautions were taken, everyone was very nice. Unfortunately, my pedicure chipped and part of my toenail has broken off, my dip powder extensions that should've lasted AT LEAST three weeks max is falling off. I can't complain about my eyebrows, they look great. For $88 plus tip- I feel I shouldn't be having these problems. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I normally fall asleep during the session. I wake up looking foxy and it's wonderful not having to worry about my makeup. Refills are $60 a pop and they are a major confidence booster. Thick, long, lush, healthy. Not obvious or cheap looking. The pedicure chairs are massaging, leather, tasteful. I want to rent one for a day and "work from home" on my laptop. Good magazine selection. Everything is new and tasteful and of good quality. Not a cheap salon. The prices for services are reasonable, they even offer a cash discount. No tacky paintings or art. Everything is super clean. Clean-freak clean. I never have to wait for an appointment. The technicians are accommodating, kind and talented. The mani-pedis last for ages. They do a great massage and foot scrub. I have been in search of a new nail salon, as my regular one closed late 2018. Made a 1 hour mani-pedi appointment online for 9:30am (when they open) on a Thursday morning about 2 months ago. When I arrived a few minutes to 9:30, the shop was closed. No one arrived until 9:40, and my appointment didn't begin til well after 10 as the staff had to get everything ready. No acknowledgement by the staff that they were late or starting me 30+ minutes late. Why are they taking 9:30 appointments? Pedicure was ok, but manicurist made me bleed while cutting my cuticles. By 11:15, I had to leave the dryer a bit early because I wasn't anticipating an extra 45 minutes, and I was going to be late to a meeting. I messed my manicure up trying to get my shoes on, but there was no staff to be seen to ask for assistance. Not worth the $40+ price tag! read more

I used to love this place for its affordability and convenience but they increased the prices $5 and then on top of that it was not clear to me they were also charging an extra $6 for the polish I picked because of how they've moved the polish station to this odd-looking faux tree so you don't actually pick your polish bottle anymore but instead pick your colors off a palette hanging on a faux tree. I was confused and I felt misled when it was time to pay. I am not picky about polish colors and always go for basic. Given the lack of pricing clarity and transparency as well as how it was handled, I'll be going elsewhere from now on. read more

I've gone here a bunch of times purely due to convenience, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone as a great place to go. The people that work there are generally rude, inattentive, and rushed - and this has been the case all ~4-5 times I've been there at various times of day and differing days. They'll get the job done okay, but don't expect to walk out of there being super pumped about your nails... you'll just feel okay and slightly better than whatever the state of your nails were beforehand. They do great gel manis and pedis here, and the prices are reasonable. The interior is pretty cute, and I love that it's literally across the street from the Porter T. I definitely plan to continue using this spot! Definitely be aware that they do not usually open right at the advertised time. So I would recommend against booking the first appointment of the day (10:30am on Sundays, 9am Monday-Saturday) or trying to walk in first thing in the morning -- especially when it's cold outside. If they do make you wait, the manager will just chastise you for not going to Bruegger's, so don't expect much sympathy from them! I also saw a nail tech sneeze on a bunch of buffing blocks this morning. Yuck! Make sure you wash your hands before you touch for face, especially during cold and flu season. Oh, and they require cash tips and offer discounts for cash customers. Obviously loads of salons do this, but it is inconvenient and outdated. read more

Gone here several times, including for a bridesmaid day and thought this place was amazing (including when it was under the old name across the street). This last time was terrible. They were busy and the technician who did my pedicure was clearly not looking to be attentive to me. Did not fill the water bin until she said "put you feet in the water" and realized there was none. When I asked for my nails to be cut, she cut them down so short she had to pull it because it was still part of my toe. Essentially stroked my legs for the "massage" and then when she realized upon putting on my shoes that she didn't spend enough time using the pumice stone, she quick grabbed lotion to rub on my heals. I think the quality of work done by the technicians are great (I enjoy gel manicures and the spa pedicures) that's why I keep coming back, but asking me to wait over 30 minutes for the wax specialist to show up (I was told this person is coming from elsewhere) isn't good customer service practice in this regard.
