I would not recommend this place for manicure or pedicure. The workers were so nice but not professionals unfortunately. I did gel and it wasn't very neat and nails was sticky so I came home and I added layer of gel on my own and used blue light to fixed it, thanks go I have it at home for pedicure guy cut soooo much of my skin so I can even see the red part like a meat on the sides of my nails, u can see on the photos. I had an appointment with Lisa for a gel manicure and regular pedicure before my wedding. It was my first time here, but a friend highly recommended her to me. I had texted Lisa the week before with a picture of what I wanted my nails to look like (see first picture): a nude ombré French, and told her I wanted a slight shimmer. She ended up doing something totally different--it didn't look bad per se, but the color, shape, and gradient were completely off. I didn't have the heart to tell her that she messed up my wedding nails, because she was very nice and I could tell she worked very hard on them. I always go here when I'm in the area for threading and pedicure. Since moving to the Valley I never found a place that shapes brows well like Mary. She takes the time and I always love the end result. Since I'm already here I also have my pedicure done and I've never had a bad pedicure with anyone. This place is amazing. The prices are reasonable and the service is impeccable. Simon and Lisa truly are the ultimate dynamic duo. Both were completely professional yet made feel like I've known them for years. I could really tell that they care for you on a personal level. I came in thinking I'd get acrylic nails, but Lisa told me that my nails are pretty enough that I don't need it. Instead, she recommended gel because it'd be less harmful for my nail. Uhhhg!!! I want to give them more stars because they were nice , except one lady who would not stop staring at me so judge the entire time. I usually go to an amazing spot in Noho but was in the area and the reviews were great.. eh. It was fast, in and out in 30 mins for a gel manicure... but less than a week later and a significant amount of my nails have chipped already.. 30$ for a gel manicure isn't bad, pretty standard, but my normal nail place I get a mani every 3 weeks because it's quality and lasts. This one, not so much. I asked the lady to please add a 3rd layer to prevent chipping and she said no it isn't needed it won't chip don't worry. Wrong. Oh well, it looked good enough, although I asked for (what I already had) a more round shape and all of my nails are different variations of round and square, just strange. I was told I could get a pedi if I waited 10-15 mins they would be ready (I decided after me mani). After waiting 25 minutes and nobody even close to being done I just said thanks and left. Both times I have gone here, they have done a decent job and it wasnt the most expensive. HOWEVER, 1st time I went in without an appointment and they all looked at each other and looked at me as if they were asking themselves, 'should we see her?' And decide 'ok', saw me, and the man did a decent job. Next time I thought I'll set an appointment. Went in told them I had an appointment and they sat me down with a young woman who basically did her job as if it was a chore. Towards the end of my pedicure not only did I have to call her over to me to correct something minor, she legit left me with the gel dryer still on and went to help another person! She never came back to help me and I got up, looked around and waited for someone to say something about me paying and no one said anything to me! I was the one who had to ask another worker where to pay and how much. I think I could have walked out without paying. read more

Just got a pedicure done from here, and I will not be coming back. Though the polish job was decent enough, the entire process took not even 20 minutes! My appointment was for 6pm, and there were only two other clients in the salon. The lady put the soaking tub in front of me but did not let me soak my feet in (I have never experienced this in any other nail salon!). She just went straight ahead with removing polish from my unsoaked feet, quickly cutting and filing, massaging for only about 30 seconds in total, then directly polishing. I didn't even get to open one magazine that I took for reading as I was done so quickly. Now, if I cane here specifically for an express pedi, I would have been happy. But to pay regular price for a pedi that I thought was going to be thorough and relaxing - not happy! She didn't even take time to remove cuticles or clean around my nail. It may be cheaper than other nail salons but you definitely get what you pay for. read more

Just about the best nail salon I have ever been to in LA. Owner Lisa has been providing me with nail services for over ten years. I never got an infection, fungus or anything from their services. Whether it's Lisa, Simon, Tiffany or Mary-everyone treats customers with respect and efficiency. Lisa, unlike other salons, does not lie about wait times for walk-ins or for last minute calls. Lisa respects people's time and doesn't want people to resent the wait. The colors are always being updated and they are specialist for Gel and Wrap nails. A typical gel manicure cost $30, simple design will be an extra $5. Went inside and had a non English speaking-manicurist assigned to me. I thought she understood basic English but as I found out, nope. My fault for assuming. I wanted a simple design and she had no idea even though she had two people translate to her. In the end, I had to switch manicurist. The first manicurist was frustrated at me because she attempted the design THREE TIMES and each time were all French tip which I kindly said "No, that's not what I want." She went off and started speaking in Vietnamese to the other ladies and went off to start on a pedicure with somebody else. No apology. The second lady who finished me off was also irritated she had to finish someone else's work and was taking it out on my hands. I left without tipping and told her "I'm not planning on coming back." Their response, "OK." Ruined my day off. :( For the price, I definitely expected better work and especially a better attitude. read more

I've gone here a couple times and they've always done a decent job on my nails. My complaint is that even if you make an appointment, you still have to wait 20+ minutes. Last straw was when I had made an appintment the Friday before 4th of July because I knew everywhere would be busy. I called the day of to confirm my appointment which they did. This is a very good basic reasonably priced nail salon. It is owned by a husband & wife team and has the same 5 employees that have been there since I moved to LA. When I moved to LA I had the hardest time looking for a good manicure. It is clean and the employees seem to be pretty happy. If you get here when they are not very busy Chi (one of my favs) or Lynn will give you one of the best manicures you have ever had. The spa chair/heel razor, etc are all extra (in SF they don't play that game) but the basic mani-pedi is $22. read more

Miserable atmosphere. I'm fine with no flashiness, but this place is beyond depressing. I have a good feeling I got royally ripped off. I made the mistake of sitting down and staring before asking about the price and they charged me about the same as upscale places like Bellacures or maybe even more. Lots of griping and generally womp-womp-ish banter. The walls are scraped up and lots of things are dingey and unclean; coupled with the dank 80s furniture I felt trapped inside an unsuccessful Tom Waits and Steve Winwood collaboration. At the end of the night the owner came in and "made it rain," flashing a huge wad of cash and distributing it with much flair as the griping in Vietnamese continued. Seriously, there are tons of cheapo nail joints to get prettied up at without having to subject yourself to this expensive pit of h-e-double-hockeysticks. read more

I've been going to Deluxe Nails for a few years now and I won't go anywhere else. Disclaimer - this is not your fancy smancy nail salon and they don't have spa pedicures, but the quality of their work speaks for itself. I either see Lisa or John for my Gel Nails and any of the other girls who do pedicures are great. They work efficiently and clean, with a great end result. Avoid going on Sundays, it's very busy. Saturday is great and you don't have to worry about it being so packed. Their prices are comparable to all the fancy spots, but I don't mind because they do a great job. They actually listen when you tell them something is wrong and Lisa the owner, makes sure you walk out of there satisfied. If you are into all that fancy nail art, Mindy does an incredible job free-hand. read more

I've been here plenty and it's usually ok for the price, depending on who does your nails. The last two or three times I've had rude manicurists who don't pay attention to the job at hand, was rude to me and basically laughed when I asked for some adjustments so that they didn't ruin my nails underneath the polish. When he finished, he got up and left without saying a word. No "thank you", or "okay, you're done", or anything! He didn't even turn on the fan for me like they normally do.
