The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because the people are friendly. I've made the same mistake again and again, by forgetting to make an appointment at my regular nail salon. So, I default to the place 2 seconds from my house. Anyways, I just got a gel manicure yesterday and they made the polish SO THICK that 4 of my nails chipped THE NEXT DAY. What a waste? Gel polish should last at least a week. Should have gotten a cheap regular mani at that point! My pedicure was barely a pedicure - more of a color change. It lasted about 15 minutes.... All in all, I'm more displeased about spending 55 dollars (plus a 12 dollar tip) on a gel mani that lasted a day and a "pedicure" that forced me to go home and pedicure my own feet. Never making this mistake again by going to this place. Disappointed every single time :( read more

Stopped in this salon on a whim after a boxing class next door. I walked in and was helped right away. The owner was friendly and helped me pick out the most perfect shade of gold for my gel manicure. Standard price of $22 for a basic service. The owner has owned the salon for 18 years and lives in the community. She spent time overseeing her staff's work and made sure customers were satisfied. First off, I'm not a fan of bad reviewers... but sometimes things just need to be addressed. I went in for a gel manicure and a regular pedicure not that long ago. I selected an OPI color for my toes and the pedicurist immediately turned her nose up at it and said it wasn't a nice color, then proceeded to go over to the wall and select 3 other shades of the same for me to choose from. HELLO... I picked one. Thanks for your opinion. Then, the gel manicure began. There were about 20 colors on the wall in boxes so you choose it from the way it looks on the box, not in a bottle. I picked a color. I keep my nails short, which apparently was not pleasing to the manicurist. She kept telling me how short they were and asking me what I did to them. Um... nothing, I have DISHES to do so not everyone can have cat nails. She huffed and puffed and kept wiping around my nails to "clean them". At the end of the manicure, I said to her that I thought that the color was uneven because the tip of the nail was darker than the base... she agreed and didn't fix it. The pedicure is VERY light... it doesn't look like the cotton candy pink I chose from the bottle... it looks like one coat. The gel manicure is already coming off, chipping and getting caught and was globby all over the bottom and sides of my nails. I won't be going back there. read more

I have been going to this salon off and on for years as it's near me and reasonable priced. It's changed owners a couple of times so I'm not sure what's going on. I get acrylics and the last couple of times, I was hurt by the woman doing my nails and when I got home, my skin around one of my nails was peeling and hurt. I didn't think too much about it until the last time I got my nails done and all the nails had painful and peeling skin around them within days. I don't think they clean and disinfect their equipment properly (especially the nail sanding bits!). Sadly. although I liked the girls, I will not be going back no matter how convenient or reasonably priced. It has taken me 3 weeks to clear my skin up. I'm so upset I can't even go in and confront them about it--I don't think they care. read more

I have went here off and on for over 5 years I live nearby and although Mandy, the owner is very friendly and accommodating, I had a regular manicure done which was chipped that evening. I returned the following am when the opened only to be charged Full price for a gel manicure and not even offered a discount stating that I should've went with gel in the first place what kind of customer service is that I mean I get it you're in business to make money but I had a manicure done on a Friday night came back Saturday morning as soon as they open first thing didn't we showed them the chipped polish because it was a cheaper nail polish and they charge me full price for a gel manicure best business advice is you don't charge a good customer of full price again. I have been going to Nails Express on and off for the past 6 years and the girls are very nice there. They do talk a lot to each other in their native language which is Vietnamese, BUT they also speak and understand English and can carry a conversation with their customers. They are usually very busy around Holidays and week nights as well as Saturday. I personally think they do a great job, sometimes they rush but over all a descent job for what they charge. I have gone to other places in Skippack, to be charged a LOT more money for the same outcome....difference is atmosphere and maybe use of more expensive lotions, etc... If you are looking to have your nails done once in a blue moon, any of the salons are good, BUT for a by-monthly all around nail salon, Nails Express is the place. Appointments aren't necessary BUT can be useful when they are super busy. read more

I am from out of town and I stopped in for a fill in with the acrylic. I couldn't have have been more pleased with the experience! The salon is beautiful and clean! The girl who did my nails did an amazing job! I wish I were able to come back more often! Highly recommended! !!! read more

I left with bleeding cuticles and crooked nails. I was the only one in there and was rushed along. I definitely would not go back.

I use to go here and they were nice until I had a problem. They told me to come on in because I called to tell them my gel nails chipped after two days. When I got there they were so rude accusing me of ruining my nails at my job and saying they don't know what I do for a living. I was so angry I told them to just take the polish off and I left, never again. Nice till you have a problem, then extremely mean!!! read more

If I could give this place no stars, I would. I came in for a mani pedi. The water for the pedicure was so hot it had my feet stinging for minutes after. She didn't even check it before I put my feet in! Then she turned it to cold and let it fill the rest of the way up. The water was freezing! I asked her to add warm water and she stared at me and didn't do anything. During the manicure I was scolded, MANY times because my nails were so short. She left polish all over my fingers and only added a third coat when I asked her because the polish was so thin. Would not recommended!!! read more

I too would give this place NO stars if k could also. My first visit was for a pedi, probably the worst I've ever gotten. Yes it is actually possible to get a bad pedi!! I asked for my nails to be as short as possible. They are already grown back out after a week and a half. The polish is uneven and I'm not even sure there's a top coat as my one nail chipped by day two. I've never had toe polish chip sooner then 2 weeks before. Also, too fast. I want to enjoy my pedi!! However, I went back, for essence of time I thought "how bad could it be?" Well, I HAVE NEVER had such a poor refill!!!!! I was left looking at my nails upon returning home in astonishment. She did my refill with a gel polish in 30 minutes, ah the express part, lol!! Typically 45 minutes is average and well done at other places. My nails were sharp(square), she didn't polish the tips(and even filed my nails AFTER polishing), she barely got down the sides with the regular polish as well as missing so much of the nail with the top coat & my left hand has all crooked filed nails. The most fascinating part was they do gel manicures without the proper gel setting machine, they just use the regular setting lights. I have never messed up a gel polish before but I've got scratches on the surface of my polish because they weren't set right. So sad because this place is close but Oaks Nails seems to be the only place that does a decent job in the area, other then the one girl there who scolds me for my color choices. My nails my color! The best part was that Mandy gave me her business card as if I was going to come back and see her....sigh read more

DIRTY NASTY NAIL SALON! Went there for a mani and pedi ... When soaking my hands for my mani I noticed that were was what looked like cuticle remnants floating in the soaking dish, however I dismissed it thinking, maybe it was just something they added to the water. Then I noticed the utencils that were being used on my hands did not come from the sterilizer .... however I thought maybe I missed something so I let that go too. Finally during my pedi I noticed that the women on either side of me had finished their pedicures followed by two more women who sat in the pedi chairs which were NEVER cleaned out. AGAIN ... I thought maybe it was just me missing something. Then... right before I got up from my pedi chair a man was getting ready to sit down next to me, the women who worked there proceeded to start filling up the bowl, there was about 1/4 of water in the foot bowl when she took a sponge, swishshed water around and then kept filling up the foot tub!!! Then the guy put his feet in to soak! This place is scraming foot fungus! I wanted to die. I rather never get my nails done again then ever go back there ... YUCK! read more
