I visit Monterey are every few months. I was looking for a nail shop for gel-mani and pedi removals. The owner of Siren Sugar&Wax Studio recommended Nails on Cass St, and I went there today. I was glad that Jo took me in right away. Jo removed my gel-pedi and Cathy or Kathy (sorry I'm not sure) did my gel-mani removal. Both ladies made me feel comfortable and didn't treat me like a random customer-- I mean I was. LOL-- but I felt like I was treated as a valued customer. They both took a good amount of time and were thorough. I ended up leaving a big tip for them because I really appreciate their service. P.S. I am not sure about their skills though. read more

I seriously melted into the chair during my deluxe pedicure. I came here because I kept seeing this place all over Facebook and they stated they were "non-toxic". Being 7 months pregnant that was important to me. I don't know if you have walked into a salon, but they usually have a very distinct smell, and it's not pleasant. Well, this place does not! What does smell delightful is whatever scrubs and lotions they use . The place was very clean, and had protocols regarding COVID which was nice. The staff was all very friendly making sure everyone got exactly what they came for. I don't often get time to get my nails done or a pedicure, but this is my new spot for when I do! read more

The techs are 7 or 8 out of 10. I've been here twice. Both times were better than average, but I've had better techs in other cities. Tony is great, very skilled. He put on 2 acrylics for my broken nails and he was on point. His wife also works here and she's super friendly. Prices are a little higher, but it just comes with the territory honestly. Shellac +2 acrylics + design=$39 It took awhile since my tech didn't really get my idea, wasn't too skilled with design (and told me her differing opinions of my design idea the whole time). The same tech did my pedicure $25. The bonus was the massage part. That being said, I think I'll request Tony or his wife if/when I come back. read more

Got my shellac French nails here. Very nice! It's been about a week and there is no peeling, lifting, or anything. The price was $30.... $25 for the gel manicure, $5 more for French. A little confused at first because it is nestled away with a lot of dr offices but if you head to the corner of the street you'll find it. Came in on Saturday morning (yesterday) and they were booked up with wedding parties. They were able to squeeze me in though! Bailey did my manicure and was very meticulous. I'm so happy with how they turned out - perfect!! The salon has also been recently remodeled. I do recommend making an appointment in advance, though, because they seems pretty booked in general, especially with wedding season coming up. This place is amazing! We made a reservation ahead of time for our bridal party to get pedicures. They were so accommodating. We had two small children running around and they were very nice about it. Two girls messed up a nail while waiting and they fixed right there. They were all very friendly and did such a good job. I spend 2.5 hours and $125 later for a manicure/pedicure with colored dipping powder. This salon does not use acrylic and the dipping powder seemed easy enough - the color would last longer hopefully. My pedicure last well but I had several issues with the manicure. The tips were visible with the dipping powder. Since the dip was not thick enough you could see where the tips ended and my natural nails begun. Minor inconvenience. I also had different shapes on my right hand versus my left. I asked for a coffin and I got coffin on some and square on others. I washed the dishes about 4 hours after and the powder color easily scratched. 4 days later I nail tip broke off. 5 days later another 3. I was highly disappointed in this as I thought the professionals would have better quality. I think if I used the dipping powder you get at sally Hansen i would have had the same results if not last longer. I am 10 days out of my mani and it is all gone. I guess it lasted long enough .. 2 more days would have been better. I would go back and just stick to gel mani pedi on natural nails because the tips and dipping powder were epic fails! read more

Staff is nice but Nail It didn't quite Nail It for me . I had hopes after a colleague referred me to this nail salon. My gel polish started melting off after the first day . I have never had a gel polish manicure do this before from my previous nail salon that I loved in the Central Valley so I know this isn't something that is a normal occurrence . Very disappointed . I was greeted as soon as I arrived. I had an appointment for a manicure and was taken right on time. It got pretty busy while I was there, but the workload was managed well. The shop was clean and well organized. I just did a regular quick dry French tip manicure. It lasted well for over a week before I had to remove it. I took one star because they didn't push back my cuticles or do any clean up to the nail bed for ridges, just a light filing and right to the polish. I had a gap at the base of the nail within a couple days. Probably just an oversight, but I will be sure to ask next time. read more

Went to the salon (new to the area) had Emily do powder dip (I've been getting powder dip for 2 years now). She skipped many steps, charged me for 1 nail tip, taking off nails and gently trimming cuticles... to the tune of $55 BEFORE TIP. I have no problem paying for quality, but these nails lasted 2 weeks! I refused to go back and have them fixed (they looked horrible from the start). She left me sitting in the chair and proceeded to go do you someone else's manicure as they were getting a pedicure. I hate the fact I have to leave a bad review for this place. I wanted to get my nails done for a trip. I requested a design and I got an abrupt "no we can't. We don't know how" okay that's fine but saying it a little kinder would have been nice. Next the lady that did my nails wasn't the nicest at doing nails. She was a lottttt older and she seemed confused. She also cut a few of my cuticles with the machine. I'm not someone who makes a fuss I knew it would heal and I hate dealing with any negativity in my life so I avoid it. But last night I was changing out of my jeans and thumb nail (dip) tore off and cut my nail causing it to bleed and rip. I have never had that happen to me in yearssss in other nail places and i keep my dip on for 3 weeks. So I truly believe the lady that did my nails did not really know what she was doing and she didn't do it right. I do want to leave this on a positive note and say there was another time I came here and the gal listened to my requests, was nice and the dip lasted for 3 weeks and my cuticles weren't hurt :) I just think customer service needs to be way better and maybe more caring read more

If you get the male owner, you're golden. He's great at what he does. I got a pedicure 2 weeks ago, and the girl got paint all on my skin. Then I go in there two days ago for a refill on my nails for my graduation party, and another male does my nails. They are lumpy, not straight, not coffin-cut, and uneven in length. I was in a rush, and didn't realize when I was in the salon the issues, but later I did, and didn't have time to have them fix it before my party.
