Update! I went back exactly 2 weeks later. My nails were extremely ready to be redone, but were still holding on for dear life, so I was mostly satisfied with how it lasted. This time Don was ready and waiting for me as I entered. The service was just as quick as last time (1hour) and quality was even better. I noticed Mary spent more time on my basic pedicure this time around and I appreciated that. I think I've found my goto salon!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I've been coming to nailtastic for what I would call a year, most of the times I get there it's busy, which it's a good thing!! so its good to call ahead and see how they're doing before you get there[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Don it's great, I've never gotten a result I didn't like with him and he is meticulous on taking care of your nails. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe it's nice, I bet Don will remember your name the second time you are around[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I think I've gotten gel manicures by all the artists and they all do a great job.

Daie (I could be spelling it wrong) did amazing & he always checked in with me to see if I liked the shapes before continuing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I showed him an inspo picture for cheetah print & he nailed it. I came in 2 weeks later after I noticed my pedicure was lifting that I had gotten done else where & he re did them for me & I love it! The shape is so much better too.

Let me preface this review by saying that I have been a loyal customer here for over a year and have consistently gone to Dai. Today, I scheduled an appointment for an acrylic removal and a dip powder manicure, and a different lady did my nails. She removed my acrylics and began what turned out to be the worst experience I have EVER had at a nail salon--and I've been to many. I'm not sure if this was her first time doing a dip manicure, but she kept ruining the coats while they were still wet. This happened on several different nails, even after I voiced my concern about the dip peeling off as she filed them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dai came over and assured me that all my concerns would be fixed (the peeling dip and how chunky the nails had become from repeating the dip process).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While I continued expressing my concerns, the lady said she was going to remove everything and redo the ENTIRE manicure. At this point, I had already been there for close to TWO HOURS. As a loyal customer of Nailtastic for over a year, you'd think they would make things right. Since I was tired of micromanaging my manicure and had been there for so long, I asked if they could either do it for free to compensate my wasted time or I would just leave. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After consulting Dai, she told me they would not do it for free, so I left--without a single apology from her or Dai, who I have been seeing regularly for a year.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I walked out, and no one said a word to me. This lady did not apologize once.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's absolutely ridiculous that they thought I would waste more of my time AND pay after this. I am extremely disappointed with my awful experience today.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

My niece & sister go here & their nails always look good. They go to Don & based on the reviews maybe that's who I should've asked for because whoever did me & my daughter's nails did a terrible job. I had a terrible experience at White Daisy Nail so I had them soak that set off so I can start new & really see their work. I have a simple acrylic overlay & by day 3 there was a chip in the corner of one nail but I thought nothing of it. Cut to roughly 10 days later & nails are chipped, cracked, & broken!! My daughter's nails started lifting & breaking writhing the week, as of 3 days ago she just took them all off as 3 had popped clean off. I personally will NEVER come here again, if you do decide to patronize this establishment then I guess y'all should ask for Don or Dai you want your nails done right.

I went for a mani/pedi. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like my toenails short and round. I asked the nail tech in English, Vietnamese, and showed pictures for short and round toenails.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not only were they not short and round, but all kinds of weird shapes and lengths. And even the paint job was messed up. I just had surgery on my right shoulder and so I couldn't do my nails myself. They refused to do my fingernails because my arm is in a sling. My Hand and fingernails are completely accessible. I left. So frustrated! I won't be back there. read more

So much to say about how awful and terrible this experience was. 1. while filling the tub with water, the the nozzle became free sprayed me and other people sitting in the seats. In addition, it was very clear that the technician had no idea what he was doing and for some reason only men work there as technicians. I thought I'd give it a chance so I did and I regret it. I did not allow them to complete the job and still paid. Both my toenails and skin are now damaged. Do not go there!!! read more

A dirty, ghetto salon that is dated and does not offer the more modern services. They have multiple times made me wait an hour after I had already made an appointment days or weeks in advanced. The male nail techs are loud and they do not do a meticulous job on simple gel manicures. One of the technicians there who normally does acrylics did the worst mani on me and destroyed my nails.... so sad...they are also not great at nail art and constantly say they can do what I ask for but end up messing it up. I went to them for over 2 years and gave them so many chances. They really need to change how they do business and or go back to school to learn the new techniques. beware of this nail salon. read more

Went in and asked for gel extensions. Half way through my manicure they said they couldn't do it, after I had clarified 3 different times. They still made me pay 20 bucks even though it was their fault on communications. I will never be going back. Go somewhere else, place has a bad vibe anyways. read more

Love this place, left for about a year because my nail tech was back to doing nails. But their always my go to when I need my nails done and she's not available. But, I'll be back as regular my nail tech retired and I loved her! But Don does an excellent job I'm always happy when I get him. He is a perfectionist so except to be wirh him for about an hour and half or 2 I love the detail that he puts into he's craft. I love the deluxe pedicure, it always helps to make my day better. The essential oils they use are great. read more

Don is the best acrylic nail tech in San Francisco! I'm incredibly picky with my acrylic shape & designs, and I've always been able to make my nail art dreams come true here! Really sweet staff, and I look forward to spending a few hours here to get my acrylics refilled every month! Come early to find parking, can be difficult to park in the area. read more

I reached out to Dai the following day after this review to let him know about my unsatisfied visit and he reached out to me with an offer to come back and fix it or to get a refund - which I appreciated. The reason I didn't want a refund was because I had to leave the city the day after and had no time to get my nails done for the New Year, so I decided to give him another try. Unfortunately, I wasn't happy with the work done on my nails yet again. The shape wasn't filed to perfection, although he had filed the living hell out of my nails. He was very rough with my nails and hands, to the point it was hurting me. I asked him to do a more simple design as I believed he wasn't capable of doing difficult and extraordinary designs, yet he failed to do a simple french tip. I even told him to just do gel instead of powder so it'd be easier on him, but even that was poorly done... It turned out to look like a little girl painted my nails. I will show in more detail in the photos as to what I'm referring to (note: this is 3 weeks later). Good thing is that none of the nails are lifting and I appreciate that he tried. But sadly, this revisit wasn't enough for me to want to continue giving my business here. Maybe I'll come back when Mikayla comes back. Until then, thank you all for your service. read more

So I usually have a go to nail tech in the city, but due to her being super booked and me needing a new set, I decided to cheat on her & booked an appointment with Mikayla! I read all the reviews and it seems like her work was the best out of everyone, so I decided to give it a try. Mikayla was very gentle when she was prepping and filing my nails, it didn't hurt at all(most salons don't care to hurt you since they want to work faster) but it wasn't the case for Mikayla so I really appreciated that. She's also very focused on the shape making it super sharp just how I like it. I got a take off and full set while getting a pedicure. I really recommend this nail salon to everyone. read more

It was my first time at Nailtastic after a friend's recommendation and I'm sooooo happy with my experience. Definitely call to make an appointment in advance. I called on Wednesday and wasn't able to get scheduled for a gel mani / normal pedi until Friday afternoon. I really respect that they don't double book or make you wait for long. I booked with Mikayla because my friend said she's good at nail designs. I went for the trendy abstract swirly nail design and Mikayla NAILED IT!! Not only did she get the design right, she also shaped my nails to perfection. And she makes it look so effortless! The best part is that everything cost $75 total. Usually when I get plain (no design) gel manicure with a normal pedicure at other salons it's at least $80. I'll definitely be coming back!! Side note: it can be a bit difficult to find parking in this area read more

Found my favorite nail place!! Parking is a bit difficult but everything else is excellent. Booked an appointment with Mikayla and she did not disappoint. I can definitely see why they're always busy here. I had a full set gel acrylic manicure and a pedicure and the total was only like $60?? Whaaaat!! Mikayla did an excellent job in the shaping of my nails, too. They're perfectly shaped in width and length. My appointment was at 3pm and I walked out by 5pm. All the ladies were really nice, too. It's really clean inside so that's always a plus. They play classical music in the background so it's a calm aesthetic that they display. Overall, 10/10 would recommend!! read more

LITERALLY THE ONLY PLACE IN THE CITY ILL GO TO FOR ACRYLICS! Wanted to update my review since it's been a year. I've been to this nail salon numerous times and each time I'm never disappointed. I only trust Mikayla doing my nails. Every single time I'm just wowed by her skills. Whenever I show her a picture she nails it or does it better. Be sure to call and make an appointment a week in advance because she's usually booked! She's that good (trust me, I get so many compliments on my nails & people always ask me where do I get my nails done.) Parking can be difficult in the mission district so do come early trying to look for a parking spot. I love how they accept credit card but gratuity is cash only! Highly highly recommend this place to all my friends & family. P.s you have to wear a mask at all times due to the pandemic, no outside drinks or food, can't bring extra guest. The gel pedicure I got yesterday was mediocre at best. I went to this salon since it's about a 15 min walk or a 3 min drive from my house. Today was my 2nd visit here at Nailtastic. My old nail tech left the nail salon i use to go to for acrylics. Considering someone like me who gets a fill religiously every 2 weeks, i need to have a go-to nail tech whose work satisfy me. For about 2 months, i went without acrylics & settled for gel manicures instead since i'm super picky with how my nails turn out (no one wants to pay $20-30+ and leave unhappy). Until i came across Nailtastic on Yelp, judging by the photos other customers posted, i felt that there is potential for this nail salon. They're also newly open! I gave it a try. My first time walking in, the atmosphere is very clean. There is a large nail color selection from them as well. Color samples they provide includes both gel AND reg polish. I got acrylics with reg polish as usual by Mikayla & WOW. The acrylics stayed on for 3wks- lasted me through a vegas trip & also a trip to hawaii encountering water every single say. The polish itself stayed on and never chipped once. Usually back at the other nail salon i went to, by 1.5wks, the top coat is usually coming off. I got full set acrylics for $27+ coffin shape $5 Nailtastic will definitely be the nail salon i'll be going to now. I am satisfied with their products & the outcome of my nails :) read more

back here as usual so i'll keep it short and simple! called the day before for acrylics: shaping, speed, punctuality 10/10 and I still recommend here to anyone who asks me for a reco. however this time, both my pinkies were at one point scraped by the dremmel and it did make me nervous throughout the appt; one bled a little during my appt and the other didn't show any visible cut, but i definitely felt both after I washed my hands as they both stung like crazy. minus one star for each pinky lol...hopefully i have better luck next time! read more

I'll start by saying I've definitely gotten a couple of cute acrylic sets here but I will be so honest, do not come to this place if you care about the health of your nails. First of all they're not consistent, it depends which tech you end up with, some of them are amazing and then some of them clearly do not know what they're doing plus don't speak english and refuse to take pointers or suggestions despite them being your nails. they do remove acrylic nails properly, this place has damaged my nails so badly bc they rip the acrylic off without soaking or filing. one guy used his own finger nail to dig under my acrylic nail to rip it off! gross!! read more

I had a commitment at 4:30, so this left me in a pinch. Maybe it was an off day, maybe this is standard, but I will likely not be returning.

I went on Saturday morning and I've had two nails rip at the ends already and it is only Tuesday morning. I'm not sure if it was because I came in with long nails already (imagine asking for a medium-long set) and they may have been mistaken for gel-x or something of the sort, but it was just my natural nails with gel on top. I can even feel on all of my fingernails just how thin they were drilled down because suddenly all my nails are very flimsy, even with several gel coats on top. The rest of the service and experience were great, so it's a bit disappointing to feel like I regret how much I paid because of how weak my fingernails became after this appointment. Regardless I would still return in the future if I want the pampering experience, but if I can do without the massage and just need my nails done I may choose another salon instead. Just something to note if you're someone who is worried about your nail strength. UPDATE 8/4 9:48PM: Another nail ripped pretty far down just from scratching my head :-(

A very tasteful, custom design for an 11 y.o. They lasted almost 4 weeks but finally time to take them off. We made an appt for 2:30 today and due to Jenny not getting the message we had to wait about 30-40 minutes. Not the biggest deal, really nice out and our favorite boba spot just a few blocks down Polk St. When we got back the other woman in the shop started taking off the gels, they were taking a while to saturate enough to fully remove so the cotton with acetone and foil had to stay on longer. My daughter's fingers started burning and when we let them know, Jenny prompted the other woman to take a look. Not ready yet so while the owner was finishing up with another client this other woman needed to take care of it. At one point a customer had to ask this other woman to help my daughter, that she would kindly wait. It took over an hour to remove and clean up her nails, no manicure after. Two hours later my daughter's poor fingers are still burning. Jenny was quite apologetic and adjusted the price as a courtesy. We love Jenny but maybe she needs some more support in her shop.

Walked in on a weekday early in the morning for a take off and full set. Why? Cause people normally don't do well from a fill from my experience. I just told myself maybe just this time since it's for Valentines Day ‍ Let me tell you. THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC or NAILTASTIC to be the least 1. it's conveniently located near my house, 2. they take walk ins, 3. you can also make an appointment, and 4. reasonably priced. Keep in mind majority of the reviews are for the owner who does great work from the pictures but her coworkers Mimi to be in fact did my nails. Look at them WOW. I love Nailtastic! I have been coming here for almost 3 years now. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and immediately felt welcomed. It is always clean, modern, and has a relaxing atmosphere. DON and GUY are the best at what they do! I usually go to DON AND HE DOES AMAZING WORK. I always get long acrylics with designs I'm super particular about the shape of my nails. Don does an amazing job executing the design and shaping each time. I've been coming here for the last 10 months and I will remain a loyal customer. They have amazing service, good prices, and great skill/talent. there are tons of nail salons to choose from in the city but this one is by far one of the best I've been to. Great atmosphere, clean & great customer care. Nice little place in this neighborhood. Under new management, but in my opinion a much better one. New owner is very friendly and skillful. So rare considering she's young. Would definitely recommend to anyone whose looking for skillful service backed with great customer service! read more
