I honestly don't understand why this place is reviewed as high as it is (my guess would be the regulars going in just to gossip with the workers and leaving "great" reviews). I went in for a mani pedi with regular polish (I have been trying to stop getting gel since it weakens my nails). The pedicure was fine, done by a woman (although she left bits of my old polish on my nail and the polish she put on has already started to come off). My manicure was absolutely HORRIBLE. First off, I had a bit of gel polish remaining from my last manicure and so the guy doing my nails (blonde hair) had to file it off but was being too harsh and staying on one area so long that it started to BREAK DOWN MY NAIL AND BURN. He also didn't full get the gel off and left pieces on my nail. I also asked the guy doing my nails to cut them short since I can't have long nails for work. He insisted I keep some length even after asking numerous times. My nails were long at the time and instead of clipping them like a normal person he used a nail file to file them down super harshly which made me feel like my entire nail was going to fly off. He didn't file the edges, leaving them super sharp and uncomfortable. He then cut my cuticles so harshly that he ended up CUTTING OFF A CHUNK OF MY SKIN. It started to BLEED and he didn't say anything about it and carried on. He then finished the manicure off by putting a super thin layer of polish and no sealant. Mind you my finger was still burning at this point from the cut. My nails looked terrible and you could see the texture of my nail (from the horrible job he did filing) under the polish. By the end of the day (my appointment finished at around 4pm btw and all I did was go home) my nails were already chipping and my finger was still bloody and sore from the cut. The sharp edges felt super uncomfortable. I called the next day to explain what I was experiencing and ask for a refund (I told them I could send pictures for proof) but the guy on the phone said they didn't do refunds and the best he could offer me was to redo the nails with the same color gel polish as long as I made an appointment in advance, so I agreed. I went in this morning (made an appointment per their request) and still had to wait. Then the guy who I'm pretty sure I talked to over the phone then said that I would have to PAY FOR THE GEL, so if I didn't want to pay the best they could do was redo the same regular polish. He also said they didn't guarantee anything and had told me this (which they didn't) making it seem like it was my fault. I was already there so I agreed for them to just redo the polish. The lady did it this time, it took all of 5 minutes and now my nails are all different shapes, sizes, and are peeling once again. I truly could have done them better myself. The nail polish they use is also super bad quality--the color doesn't end up looking like the booklet. Super RUDE, UNACCOMADATING, and INCOMPETENT staff... I have been to my fair share of bad nail salons but this one has to have been the worst. A dirty, ghetto salon that is dated and does not offer the more modern services. They have multiple times made me wait an hour after I had already made an appointment days or weeks in advanced. The male nail techs are loud and they do not do a meticulous job on simple gel manicures. One of the technicians there who normally does acrylics did the worst mani on me and destroyed my nails.... so sad...they are also not great at nail art and constantly say they can do what I ask for but end up messing it up. Let me preface this review by saying that I have been a loyal customer here for over a year and have consistently gone to Dai. Today, I scheduled an appointment for an acrylic removal and a dip powder manicure, and a different lady did my nails. She removed my acrylics and began what turned out to be the worst experience I have EVER had at a nail salon--and I've been to many. I'm not sure if this was her first time doing a dip manicure, but she kept ruining the coats while they were still wet. This happened on several different nails, even after I voiced my concern about the dip peeling off as she filed them. Dai came over and assured me that all my concerns would be fixed (the peeling dip and how chunky the nails had become from repeating the dip process). While I continued expressing my concerns, the lady said she was going to remove everything and redo the ENTIRE manicure. At this point, I had already been there for close to TWO HOURS. As a loyal customer of Nailtastic for over a year, you'd think they would make things right. Since I was tired of micromanaging my manicure and had been there for so long, I asked if they could either do it for free to compensate my wasted time or I would just leave. After consulting Dai, she told me they would not do it for free, so I left--without a single apology from her or Dai, who I have been seeing regularly for a year. I walked out, and no one said a word to me. This lady did not apologize once. It's absolutely ridiculous that they thought I would waste more of my time AND pay after this. But, I'll be back as regular my nail tech retired and I loved her! But Don does an excellent job I'm always happy when I get him. I had a terrible experience at White Daisy Nail so I had them soak that set off so I can start new & really see their work. I have a simple acrylic overlay & by day 3 there was a chip in the corner of one nail but I thought nothing of it. Cut to roughly 10 days later & nails are chipped, cracked, & broken!! My daughter's nails started lifting & breaking writhing the week, as of 3 days ago she just took them all off as 3 had popped clean off. I reached out to Dai the following day after this review to let him know about my unsatisfied visit and he reached out to me with an offer to come back and fix it or to get a refund - which I appreciated. The reason I didn't want a refund was because I had to leave the city the day after and had no time to get my nails done for the New Year, so I decided to give him another try. Unfortunately, I wasn't happy with the work done on my nails yet again. The shape wasn't filed to perfection, although he had filed the living hell out of my nails. He was very rough with my nails and hands, to the point it was hurting me. I asked him to do a more simple design as I believed he wasn't capable of doing difficult and extraordinary designs, yet he failed to do a simple french tip. I even told him to just do gel instead of powder so it'd be easier on him, but even that was poorly done... It turned out to look like a little girl painted my nails. I will show in more detail in the photos as to what I'm referring to (note: this is 3 weeks later). Good thing is that none of the nails are lifting and I appreciate that he tried. But sadly, this revisit wasn't enough for me to want to continue giving my business here. Maybe I'll come back when Mikayla comes back. Until then, thank you all for your service. read more

I called on Wednesday and wasn't able to get scheduled for a gel mani / normal pedi until Friday afternoon. I really respect that they don't double book or make you wait for long. I booked with Mikayla because my friend said she's good at nail designs. I went for the trendy abstract swirly nail design and Mikayla NAILED IT!! Not only did she get the design right, she also shaped my nails to perfection. And she makes it look so effortless! The best part is that everything cost $75 total. I can definitely see why they're always busy here. I had a full set gel acrylic manicure and a pedicure and the total was only like $60?? Whaaaat!! Mikayla did an excellent job in the shaping of my nails, too. They're perfectly shaped in width and length. My appointment was at 3pm and I walked out by 5pm. All the ladies were really nice, too. Today was my 2nd visit here at Nailtastic. My old nail tech left the nail salon i use to go to for acrylics. Considering someone like me who gets a fill religiously every 2 weeks, i need to have a go-to nail tech whose work satisfy me. For about 2 months, i went without acrylics & settled for gel manicures instead since i'm super picky with how my nails turn out (no one wants to pay $20-30+ and leave unhappy). Until i came across Nailtastic on Yelp, judging by the photos other customers posted, i felt that there is potential for this nail salon. They're also newly open! I gave it a try. My first time walking in, the atmosphere is very clean. There is a large nail color selection from them as well. Color samples they provide includes both gel AND reg polish. I got acrylics with reg polish as usual by Mikayla & WOW. The acrylics stayed on for 3wks- lasted me through a vegas trip & also a trip to hawaii encountering water every single say. The polish itself stayed on and never chipped once. Usually back at the other nail salon i went to, by 1.5wks, the top coat is usually coming off. back here as usual so i'll keep it short and simple! called the day before for acrylics: shaping, speed, punctuality 10/10 and I still recommend here to anyone who asks me for a reco. however this time, both my pinkies were at one point scraped by the dremmel and it did make me nervous throughout the appt; one bled a little during my appt and the other didn't show any visible cut, but i definitely felt both after I washed my hands as they both stung like crazy. minus one star for each pinky lol...hopefully i have better luck next time! read more
