Stumbled upon this nail salon as i needed to get my nails done for an upcoming wedding and had a wonderful experience. Nancy did my nails, she took her time to make sure everything was perfect and what I wanted. I absolutely loved the way my nails turned out, will definitely be coming back I know the salon overall might have mixed reviews, but i can say my experience was nothing short of amazing. Came here before a flight as I couldn't get into my usual spots in a neighborhood nearby. I feel like I paid way too much for a simple mani pedi that was probably the most un hygienic experience of my life. I don't think I can recommend this place due to unsafe hygienic conditions and honestly this is what can lead to infections for people. First time at this nail salon, I had had a 6pm appt at a different nail salon, but that appt got messed up because the nail tech i was scheduled with had left early that day and the salon didn't inform me of this until I was already there and in fact had been waiting for 30(!!) minutes. So I was not very optimistic, but at 630pm on a Friday evening I started calling other places to see if I could get in anywhere else right then. Sure enough, Angel Nails was able to take me (theyre open til 730pm, when most nail salons close at 7pm), the staff was super friendly, the shop was cute, and they did a great job on my acrylic manicure. They did a great job AND the nail tech stayed late to do my nails! On a Friday! That's huge. Would definitely repeat. read more

It's a great local spot for a manicure. I almost didn't come in because of the mixed reviews but I'm really glad I tried. They have helped me grow my natural nails out long by handling my brittle nails with care. I do a solid color gel manicure and can be in and out pretty quickly. If you're in a rush and call ahead they are great about estimating what time they will be free (I feel like other salons don't have a good gauge for how long you can expect to wait but they do). I have also done French gel manicures here. Once the French tip color chipped a few days in while I was working and I came back and they were super nice about it and fixed for free. read more

I don't really get my nails done but if i were to, I'd come here. Last time I was here was about one year and half ago so I decided to give acrylics another go. I got full set gel for $35 and I got the same lady again. She really takes her time into shaping and filing your nails so I never got hurt. The winner of my 250th review goes to.......Judy's Nail Salon! Wooohooo! I decided to go try my gf Nadia's place for a pedi...the place is small but well kept. Everything looks clean and in its place. Angel's is a really nice spot for a not so expensive (I spent $26 with a tip) but really nicely done pedicure. I got some cute nail art done and a scrub which really made a difference in how my feet felt! A++ My only complaint: The rhinestones that I got on my toes came off the same day....they should have put a top coat or some super glue or something on them...I think she just set it with clear coat polish..... P.S. Make sure you guys bring cash - they do Visa and I think MC, but its a $25 minimum... read more

Angel's Nail Salon was great and reliable until recently. I used to go there all the time, but they recently hired Nancy. She never pays attention to detail (I find old nail polish color bits in my new manicure), she makes fun of the color you pick and clearly talks negatively about the customers right in front of their face. It's incredibly unprofessional and uncomfortable. I don't see how it's okay to literally work on someone's hands and talk negatively in Vietnamese (knowing most customers don't understand). It's unfortunate to be around this environment because Emily, Cindy and Angel are amazing nail techs. :( read more

They did a decent enough job on the nails but charged me $50 for a mani/pedi and everyone else with a mani/pedi was charged $35 (they were regulars and they spoke openly of the cost/charge). I didn't need to fight it but I won't go back. Also the towel for my feet had nail paint all over it and the place just felt dirty - and the chairs were broken and torn up. I don't mind paying $50 for a clean place. I found a really nice place on Guerrero street for mid-30's for mani/pedi.. and it is clean and the staff were very mindful in how they treated their clients. read more

Look, for the sake of your time and my own, come here if you want to wait 45 minutes to be seen for your appointment (yep...appointment), and if you would like a fresh infection or pretty fungus to walk away with. I left halfway through my pedicure because I was so disgusted with the fact that they don't sanitize between clients. This place ended up giving me an infection for the price of $19. When was the first moment I should have bounced outta that place? When I went to the bathroom (or outhouse maybe?) and their aluminum can/plastic bottle collection, carts, and gloves were taking up 85% of their patio. Really? Keep that at home. I have to say Angel's is solid. Everything that I've done here is always on point and last. The staff is nice and they speak unlike some salons I've been to in the past. I want to like this place, I really do. It's less than a block from my apartment and the prices are really great. But after 3 visits, it really does seem that you get what you pay for. Two different nail techs have been brutal with the cuticle clippers (ok, so I didn't complain at the time, but making the customer bleed is usually considered a no-no) and the shop is not well ventilated. It's often quite noisy and leaves me feeling stressed out. I will probably still drop in once in a while for the $8 manicure but I like to bring my own polish, since many of their colors seem dried out and/or cheap. read more

You get what you pay for here. I frequent for the cheap prices (can't really beat a $25 mani-pedi in this city) and proximity to my apartment. But I definitely know when I go that I'm not going to be walking out with the best looking and feeling nails. I'll start with the good. Pedicures are solid bang for buck. The basic spa pedicure ($17) includes leg scrub, hot towels, and meticulous de-callousing of the feet. The $5 extra for paraffin wax is totally worth it; they are generous with the quantity and will leave it on for a really long time. And then the downsides. Every manicure I've gotten here has ended with at least one bleeding cuticle. Once, I opted to not paint my toe nails and instead asked for an extra coat of paint on my fingernails, to which my nail technician said no. They have old/cheap polish brands and not the greatest color selection. There's also a somewhat language barrier, so it's hard to make additional requests without confusion or having to explain in-depth. Lastly, it takes a lot longer than other places especially when there's a lot of people in the salon. Likely due to understaffing, but a mani-pedi typically takes me close to 2 hours here. I'd say it's worth bringing your own polish, so that it'd be guaranteed quality/color and they won't fuss about an extra coat. And that pedicures are probably more worthwhile than manicures here. read more

I have been going to this nail salon for more than 8 years. Angel is the new owner and she is the one who has been there every time I go. I must say I cheated on her a couple of times when she goes on vacation. I have seen other "waxcians" but Angel keep being the best by far. In San Francisco there are so many nail/wax places to choose from. I get my nails gel shellacked at least once a month, ive been to lots of salons, high and low end and always have different results. I stopped in here as i was waiting for my tires to be put on my car and needed some upkeep. Its not the fanciest place, but the ladies were nice and inviting. Cindy did my nails and paid such attention to detail on my raggedy fingers, i was impressed. I work with my hands and they are BEAT up... I've been going to this place for a while now and I've always kept my cool because they're decent at what they do except I can only take so much. Today I've been there for the last time. I was sitting there for 30 minutes like a complete idiot and when I finally asked Angel (the stuck up, rude, pretentious and extremely bitchy/moody owner) deliberately ignored me and kept on doing some ladies nails. Waxing virgin no more! A girlfriend brought me here to get my eyebrows done. Not that it needed a lot of work, just some shaping and a little bit of thinning. As described by other Yelpers, this is not the cleanest looking place in the world. I would probably be wary of receiving a massage or a bikini wax at this location. I've been going to this place for over 10 years for eye brow wax. Angel always has my brows on fleek. For $10? Go here, run if you must!!!

Well, this place is cheap, they got that going for them. My manicure was $7. HOWEVER it's pretty ghetts. The instruments were definitely not sterilized. The nail polish was old and crusty and chipped a day later. The nail polish selection was very heavy in the neon spectrum. Uhm.... gone are my raver days of dayglo nail polish. Gone are they! The decor was also pretty atrocious if you care about that sort of thing. Staff were nice... I don't think I'll be going back. $7 is just not worth it. read more

FAIL!!! I work right next door and I had gone here once before. I wasn't pleased with my pedi, but it was ok for a last minute thing. So i decided to go back since I had a pool party to go to the next day. I decided to get a pedi with a wax dip at the end which leaves your feet super soft after wards if done right. Well, it started out well, then she was cutting too much on my big toe, then it came time for the wax dip. She put the wax in two plastic bags and told me to stick my feet in there. Hot wax might i add. So i trusted her and i put my feet in there. It was hot, i told her...hey it's hot, so she put a fan on and aimed it towards the inside of the bag. That DID NOT work. My feet were burning!!! I had to pull my feet out of the bag and took off the wax myself. She got mad because I spilled wax all over her tub...Uh HELLOO, YOUR BURNING MY FEET!!! So my feet are all red, i'm trying to not blow my lid, I ask her to soak my feet in cold water and she does. Then she finishes off painting my nails and then has the audacity to charge me?!?!?! REALLY?!?!?! You just burnt the bottom of my feet lady and you want to charge me? I don't think so. I told her she wasn't getting any money and then she just said FINE and put her hand up as if to tell me to leave. WOW, no apology, sorry for burning your feet, let me take care of this for you....NOTHING! NEVER AGAIN, will i got there. Just so you know, the foot wax is done in hot wax, but it has a container that holds the wax and they dip your foot and pull it out so it can cool very quickly, then dip again and repeat. When done CORRECTLY it feels amazing. DO NOT GO HERE FOR PEDICURES!!! Oh and then i noticed some blood on my big toe that she was digging in. Thanks BOOCH! read more

What I got was an efficient no-frills manicure and pedicure for $36 including tips from two women who seemed perfectly nice - though a language barrier prevented us from communicating fully. I have had my eyebrows waxed up and down california, Angel is the best I have ever encountered! She is super quick and will give you a hollywood arch if that is what you want. It's definately not the tidiest place but friendly staff and quality work. They do need to invest in better polish but the prices are so low that you could make more visits.
