It is not super delicious as the grey creammy spicy fast-food. But these food can keep your stomach full for awhile of time! They are solid and organic! You can find a lot of ancient diet process( it is a chemical reactions but it is naturally processed). Most of ancient diet habits remind us the desire of fermentated food! We naturally will pursue those product to make myself feeling better however, the modern processed food eliminated the food maturing process thus I found this place! If you think it is too complicate to pick all the stuff at the same time and don't know how to apply all the natural stuff in your daily diet. You may try the food in the spot! You can also enjoy all the sell product as a meal in the store. It is like a dad and mom pop up sandwich store that you can take out some food in a single ride.

The staff was kind and helpful and there appeared to be a lot of locals enjoying their meals out in their outdoor seating area. While the market had a bunch of fun fermented offerings, the food that I ordered from their cafe was not exactly what I expected. I ordered the chili and spicy kraut grilled cheese combo. The portions were on the smaller side but given it was lunch I didn't really mind. I was more let down by the lack of flavor in their grilled cheese, the spicy kraut was neither spicy and just didn't really add much aside from texture. The chili on the other hand was delicious so that partially redeemed the meal for me. My boyfriend got their bone broth which was very very light and needed additional seasoning though. While I love what they're trying to build here, I'm not sure if I'd go back.

Regardless, I don't know where the cashier got the egg tarts or if they bake them in-house, but they are phenomenal. Cashier walked into the back room and came back with these warmed delicacies. I scarfed down two in my car and debated on turning back for more. They're on the sweeter side, but they are elite. Pricey, but worth the "treat yourself" moment.

What brought us in were their egg tarts. I've never been to Portugal, but I was happy to come in to have some savory croquettes and their egg tarts. Their portuguese egg tarts have the custardy flavor balanced by nice sweetness. We had a ham and cheese croquette and chicken croquette. The savory treats were breaded in bread crumbs and the ham and cheese tasted like it was filled with a cheesy bearnaise, while the chicken tasted like a crispy, chicken pot pie. This is a small store and it's a great place to find items for an authentic Portuguese meal. I would come again for these egg tarts, which has sweetness that's completely different than the Taiwanese variety I grew up with in the San Gabriel valley.

And you don't have to get all gussied up either. He delivers right to your surf-mobile! I was a little skeptical, seeing this kinda-cute gentleman handing out his business flyers but I'm game for almost anything after a surf and the "Surfer's Breakfast Pie" caught my eye. After my first taste, I knew my Martha Stewart pot pies were but a fading memory, lost to the man from England where pot pies are a cultural norm*. The semi-sweet salsa provides just the right snap to make a mouth-watering taste delight in a freshly-baked, hot breakfast in your wetsuit or street clothes. *We shared the "Sweeny Todd" joke but I was assured of his personal selection of only top-quality meat and vegetables.
