This place has great sushi! All the ingredients are very fresh. Staff is rude and snappy though.

Chicken teriyaki is dry and over cooked and cuts of sushi are thin and quality is mediocre at best.

I went here with a friend, and it was fantastic. I was particularly impressed with the freshness of the ingredients. We had the fire roll, sakura roll and hurricane roll (it was part of the buy-two-get-one-free deal), plus a couple of appetizers. I enjoyed each roll, with the hurricane role in particular standing out. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this is the best sushi I've had on Staten Island, and one of my best sushi experiences in New York City. I also appreciated the unobstructed view of the sushi prep area, which allows diners to look at the fresh ingredients and watch the chefs at work. I can't wait to go here again. read more

Been coming here a few times. I like the broad variety of food items as well as the large list of sushi rolls. Can't beat the "buy 2 get 1 free" sushi. Many sushi restaurants only offer soy sauce and wasabi for the sushi, but here some sushi rolls comes with it's own sushi sauce. For me, fried rice is fried rice, but the fried rice here is pretty tasty. This place hasn't disappoint yet. read more

This place has nice decore and decent service from that decent service you get un cooked food last time i was there they did not make the sniw mountain roll cooked in the middle it wass soggy and fell appart as you lifted it with chop stick i rate this 3 out of 10 i would review 1 but the price is good read more

People are friendly, prices are great. Sushi is okay, more rice and cucumber in my rolls than actual fish. Sashimi was sliced very thin, but I guess its expected for the price. Fried Rice is great. Would go back. read more

Ordered $50 worth of sushi including a kani salad to go. Came home and the order was missing the salad. Looked at the receipt and the salad was not checked off while everything else was. The food is pretty good, but bring your own Sriracha sauce! They'll charge you $0.50 for half an ounce. I know it's only fifty cents, but it's the principle of it-- it's bad business. I racked up $100 bill, and they charge me for that?! When I complained about it, the young female waitress said "Sorry, that's our manager's policy." No discretion; bad business. I see this "nickel and dime" tactic as a growing trend among asian restaurants on Staten Island. Is there a Sriracha drought or something? Place is not very appealing when you walk in. Staff was pretty un friendly for the most part and were not really willing to be flexible with my order. Hey, so I come here almost every week also ordering delivery. The food is great. I'd especially order the Kani rolls (crab and rice) and would recommend the vegetable fried rice. What I could not recommend is their disgusting service inside and outside the restaurant. Inside the servers are inattentive. The delivery drivers are always rude. Our family goes to Nakata every other week for their lunch specials. Mind, they offer lunch specials even on Saturday and Sunday, unlike so many other restaurants. I doubt someone can beat their price - $8.95 lunch special that includes 3 rolls and a soup/salad. The rolls taste nice and fresh all the time and size-wise just what they should be (at least in my opinion). I tried their chef special rolls one time, they were not bad, but I still go back to old plain rolls like Alaska and California. A great place to satisfy your sushi cravings without spending an arm and a leg. read more

First off , let me start by saying that they are completely rude. I ordered delivery and was eating my dinner and found a black piece of hair in my Rice as the spoon was about to enter my mouth.( I have light brown hair) Now usually I don't go back toComplain but I threw my entire $20 meal out after that. I entered Nakata calmly and asked to speak to a manager in charge. They told me I should have called ahead of time and that the manager left for the day.... Did I know I was going to find hair in my dinner? The lady behind the counter than proceeded to tell me there was nothing they could do without bringing my full meal back. I said okay I live 2 mins away I will go pick it out of the garbage. I entered back with my full meal, they examined the entire meal and told me they could not reimburse me because some of it was eaten. No way? Really, because I planned on eating all of it until I found hair. She continued to tell me that the rice comes with the meal so she would not give me my money back. I threatened to call the cops and get someone from the food business there. They asked me to calm down and told me they will not give me money back for my edamame... Keep the 4 dollars, I said: they took out the tax and tip and only have me about 40% of my total back. The man there was completely rude and said this is a business did you think you were going to get reimbursed, at that point I became livid and screamed in front of the entire restaurant that there might be hair in their rice. Never will I ever step foot back into this place. It's a shame because they just lost a customer who frequently visited there. They are lucky I don't file a complaint with the board of health and sue them. read more

I used to come here often a couple of years ago and the sushi was excellent. Lately, it's been disappointing. They can never remember that I requested brown rice on my rolls. They always give me white rice. They even send the wrong rolls. When I called to complain they told me it was the correct roll and that "they just look the same". I don't eat raw sushi and it was raw fish. After convincing them it was wrong and also the wrong rice, they finally delivered the correct roll which then had a piece of shrimp shell inside. Then, I gave the place a 2nd chance. My coworker's bento box had white rice instead of brown (which she paid extra for). She called to complain and they were very difficult. Onto a 3rd chance, they sent me a Spicy Salmon roll instead of a shrimp roll, then argued with me again telling me I ordered Salmon when I DO NOT eat RAW fish at all. They offered to give me credit when I said NO, I just want the food that I paid for. No more chances for this place! read more

Tried this place for the first time the other nite. It was ok. It's a no-frills kind of place so don't go expecting atmosphere of any kind. Pretty much just tables crammed in a too bright room. That being said, the food was decent but that's it, just decent. Got vegetable Gyoza appetizers and the dumplings were actually green which I hadn't seen before though I've had it many times in many restaurants. Taste was fine but I've had better. Spouse ordered the Sushi combo platter and said it was good. I got three orders of California rolls and they were ok but not great. They were very small rolls and they skimped on the crab. Whats worse is that I first ordered two orders and when I was still hungry, I ordered another order but the last order came with several of the rolls missing crabmeat entirely! That really surprised me. I didn't make an issue of it and I won't base my review completely on it but that should not be happening in any Japanese restaurant. Can anyone tell me why in California, the California rolls are super delicious and the size of steering wheels, while here in NYC they are small with meager amounts of avocado and crab? We get got our order filled with chicken, seafood, and pork. I called and they told me I ordered it wrong, it's not on the menu, and we won't get our $15 back.
