What's left of meat lovers pizza!
    Sabra R.

The best pizza in WNY! Got the meat lovers again! No time for pictures before it disappeared!

We picked these up before a tailgate... #GoBills

I've had the original Joey's a couple times and it was awesome... but the new location is right down Broadway so I am going there much more often. Their regular cheese pizza is good, sweet sauce... very yummy; but the White Pizza is maybe the best in WNY IMO... If you know of a better white, I'd love to hear about it.

I've searched the area for a long time to find real Italian bread and finally found it here. I would highly recommend Nandos to anyone looking for a taste of Italy. Nandos è quanto di più simile ci sia allo stare nella cucina della mia mamma (R.I.P.). Offre una delle migliori cucine italiane autentiche di questa parte di Roma. The minute we walked in-he was engaging and trying to fill our mouths with the delicious food that he prepares. This in itself is so special and satisfying. The shop is warm and inviting. It's simple, clean, and fresh. The meatballs were so delicious and flavorful, and the bread was fresh in the truest form of flavor. The salad was packed with so many different Italian combinations of garnish that it was a meal in itself! The rice balls were shared with a local bartender on the way home and they were a big hit! Again, the owner went above and beyond to fill our bags to the brim. The food was cooked from the freshest ingredients. He is also giving cooking lessons and will be implementing the "real Italian" pasta soon! Cannot recommend this establishment enough.

As there was only 7 people waiting. But it turned out they were ordering food for their businesses or similar because most orders were for 4-more sandwiches. Which explained the wait. Demographic was definitely us Senior citizens. Bathroom is tiny but clean. All in all a very pleasant experience. Any time I'm in the area I would definitely stop by again.

I was introduced to Charlie the Butcher many, many years ago. The roast beef is so tender, they give you a good portion on the roll and there's a nice flavor, leaves me salivating. It's been quite sometime since I had one, I finally had some time and stopped at this location. I regret to say I'm disappointed in myself because I was stopping for a roast beef and ended up making the mistake of being spontaneous and ordered the grilled BBQ prime rib sandwich. I'm sorry, I didn't like it. So, this sandwich costs $15.99 (comes with nothing extra), it was also on a roll, there was no BBQ sauce (I assumed there would be) but it was just dry, plain, devoid of much flavor, they topped it with provolone cheese, a couple pieces of peppers and some onions but it didn't hit the spot for me. The Costanzo roll was overbearing. I learned a valuable lesson today, "stick with what you love about the place!" So, I'll be back for that roast beef another day. The inside is reminiscent of the local 80's fast food joints of Buffalo, I would call it a little shack. You walk in, lean back, look up at the menu, order and walk around to pay and pick up your food. There is a small seating area, a few booths to sit a party of four. Pick up your food at the counter after they call your name. Nothing fancy, just a quick little spot to eat.

The manti stood out more for its comfort than complexity, tender dumplings, yogurt, and a clean garlic-forward profile that felt authentic, even if slightly muted on spice. The ribeye steak medallions were cooked accurately and had good texture, but they were less memorable compared to the rest of the menu. In contrast, the mixed grill platter was the strongest showing of the night, offering variety and consistent execution across different meats, which is not easy to do well. Everything was flavorful without feeling overworked. The mixed meat pide was satisfying and hearty, though on the richer side. It's filling and best approached as a shared dish rather than an add-on. Turkish tea was straightforward and comforting, doing exactly what it should after a heavy meal. Overall, Sofra delivers a traditional, well-executed Turkish dinner with generous portions and a focus on consistency rather than reinvention. Best enjoyed family-style, pacing the meal thoughtfully to fully appreciate the depth of the menu without fatigue.

After a long drive to have brunch somewhere on Elmwood, just to find the doors locked, I ventured…read moreover here to have lunch and it did not disappoint! First off, I was greeted and found staff friendly and efficient! You have plenty of options for seating .. dining area, front bar, back bar, even an outdoor patio bar. Although it is dive bar-esque, it was nice and clean (let's be honest .. some dives have a stench and stickiness that can definitely ruin your appetite, no matter how much you may love them). They have a set up for bands to play, as one was playing while I was there for their 2 year anniversary (congrats!). What was nice is although I could hear the band (it was playing in the back and I was up front), it wasn't over whelming me. I have eaten places where, no matter where you sit, it's extremely loud, and I appreciated that you had a choice here. Now onto the food: The food should have been doomed to fail; my tastebuds were prepared to eat sweet, buttery, syrupy French toast with a mocktail at brunch elsewhere. But wasn't hyped about the menu because of this (which is not dog and pony's fault .. I had to work and didn't have time to research where else brunch was available). I settled on the umami smashburger by a suggestion of my waitress. Now once again, could have been doomed to fail as I'm not a French fry person and my favorite cheeseburger is one I make on my own. BUT WOW their food blew me away and made me forget all about my brunch let-down. The French fries were fantastic and had a great seasoning on them! The smashburger was great to the last bite .. and I was NOT expecting to finish it as it was a really nice portion (I ate lunch now 10 hours ago and didn't need to eat again it was so filling!) but it was so dang gone good I sure finished it! Smoked cheddar .. chimichuri aioli ... kimchi bacon jam .. oh ya that bacon jam was EVERYTHING!! Thank you to the staff at Dog and Pony for making my long drive worth while!

I ordered the smash burger, my husband ordered the turkey sandwich. After we were waiting for our food for over 25 minutes, the server came over and said that he was just informed they don't have the turkey because they had an issue with that freezer. Ok, so my husband ordered the cheese steak because he was super excited for the bahn mi roll. My smash burger was alright, but the bread they use for their burgers remind me of those cheap buns you get from TOPS that just fall apart. The worst part was that they forgot the dog sauce on my burger, so I asked for the sauce, and THEY CHARGED ME FOR ASKING FOR SAUCE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO ALREADY BE ON THE BURGER I ORDERED. My husband made sure to tell me after we already left because he knew I would have fought it and our already 1.5 hour long lunch date would have been longer waiting for the refund... He ordered the cheesesteak and the sandwich was so small, and the "bahn mi bun" wasn't even toasted which is a signature for bahn mi bread. He said the flavor was fine but nothing to rave about. The worst part, for me, were the French fries that came with both of our meals. They were soooo heavily peppered that they were inedible. We asked for ketchup to try to make them tolerable, and they gave us a pre-portioned small cup of ketchup... You serve french fries with most of your menu, why isn't there ketchup on the table?!? Overall, It was a nice place to have on senrca street which used to only have the blackthorn and franchescas, but I would not eat here again.
