The Bolivar Beacon Kolsch at 5.5 ABV has a clean finish with just a touch of hop. The Cien Raspberry at 5.5 ABV is a Top 3 Raspberries I've all I have had. It's perfection. Not too heavy or sweet. I stopped by here yesterday with my family for some afternoon drinks. We decided to head to Naked Iguana Brewing on a whim as we couldn't decide where we wanted to eat. I had marked this as a place I had wanted to stop at on vacation and the fact that you could order food from across the street at Coastal Grill and have it walked over sealed the deal for us. The inside of the beer garden consisted of a number of picnic tables and high-top chairs with several TVs mounted on the walls. There was also a playhouse with toys that kept my twins entertained the whole time we were there. I also liked that they had hot dogs, nachos, and chili with cheese available for tips only, which was a nice touch. On this evening I decided to go with the Checkered Past WCIPA while my wife went with the Don't Be a Karen tangerine hard seltzer. The guys working were friendly, and we quickly had our drinks in hand and found a spot to sit. My Checkered Past had a solid beer flavor through the middle with the bitterness coming on the finish. It was a nice sipper with notes of pine. My wife's seltzer had tangerine flavor from start to finish with a good tartness throughout. My son and daughter both had one of the hot dogs from the snack area, and I have to admit they were really good hot dogs. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I'm a little sad I only got to try one of their beers, but I was happy with what we had and liked the relaxed, family-friendly setup. read more

I came in on a Tuesday night at 6:30pm. There's a few parking spots in front, else it's parallel parking along the street. I was provided quick service by Christine. I got two flights which is around $12-$14 per flight. I really enjoyed the Cien (Stout) and Bad Memory. It's a pretty cool place with merch and alcoholic desserts. This is one of the newest drinking spots on the Strand and if you're a fan of good craft beer, this should be one of your destination points. As someone who's worked in the craft beer business for 30 years, I can tell you these craft beers are actually on point. Their IPAs are solid, their Scottish ale was good and their brown ale is one of the best I've ever had. I do recommend starting out with a flight of four of their beers for just a mere $10. If you're not in to beer, they do have a significant wine list as well which is fairly affordable. As for the interior of the place, there are 20 seats at the bar, three 8 top tables, five booths and two cozy corners. There are also 5 flats screens, a popcorn machine, a dartboard, and a shuffleboard. It does have a clean industrial modern feel to it, but it does have two intimate corners for families or friends. They also have a table in the back where you can choose from a number of boardgames to play. The only downside to this place is that parking can be problematic, especially during tourist season and they do not serve food of any kind. They remedy the food situation by having a menu from a restaurant called Coastal Grill which is directly across the street and they will gladly deliver to the bar. And before I forget, the place is dog friendly and you won't be hit with the tip screen when they run your card. read more

Wow, what an amazing brewery experience in an area that I didn't believe would be THIS good. Almost everything we tried in our flights was spectacular and I found it cool that they make their own watermelon seltzer. The IPAs were all stellar and the bartender was wonderful. My brother tried some canned cocktails before I could give him any warning and when she saw that we didn't drink them, she refunded us. Delicious brews, great vibes. Total surprise! read more

Visited Naked Iguana Brewery for the first time yesterday. We really liked it. The atmosphere was chill and the beers we tried were very, very good. There's free popcorn, decent music (and in June they'll have live music), and it's dog friendly, probably iguana friendly too! Great microbrewery in Galveston. They make a wide selection of beers. All the ones we tried were good. Richard Rennison, the owner came over and talked to us, and told us about the history of the building which was interesting. He also gave us a tour of the back of the brewery. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone interested in trying good local craft beer. read more

This place is the newest little gem on the island. Right off the Strand I spent the day in there recently. Richard and Tracy the owners are down to earth and generally enjoyable people to be around. Crazy that this is the result of their joint efforts and believe it or not a second career. Both are recently retired from their first career. They had 13, yes 13, different beers on tap.. I still cannot believe that Richard put the whole brewery together by himself with the help of a couple of friends. It is dog friendly has great food and live music from time to time. I would highly recommend this place to anyone living on the island or if you are just passing through. It is literally a block or two from the cruise ship terminals. FIVE STARS!! The Naked Iguana Brewery (NIB) is new and hasn't had the Grand Opening to the public. I saw it before the renovations and updates that turned it into the new and up and coming place it is now. My friends, the owners Richard and Tracy, have really put in the sweat equity to transform the space into a fantastic brewery and place to spend time with friends and family. Richard has definitely honed his beer making skills. I am not a beer aficionado; however, I know a quality beer when I taste it and the NIB has some excellent beer on tap The wife and I went to the founders (Investors) appreciation gathering on 11/25/2023. What a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the custom beer menu selections, spend time with friends, or just relax after strolling on the Strand. You can sit at the L-shaped bar, table, high top table, booth, or in a couple comfy areas for a more intimate setting. If you're not into beer, theres' other options for you too, like wine and canned cocktails. What a fresh new space! I love it. The only humbly suggested improvements would be low background music appropriate for the audience and reduced lighting in the chic pendants over the booths. If you are an IPA fan, the Hazy is great. I am also a fan of the G Town Brown Ale, and the Dingy Blonde. Every beer I have tried is a solid beer. I'm patiently waiting for a Porter and a Lager. While I'm not partial to seltzers, they do have several on tap as well as wine based frozen coctails. The owners and patrons are all very nice and inviting, and it seems that a lot of locals are there. If you are interested in the brewing, you can see the entire brewery (behind glass), and Richard (the owner) is happy to talk about the brewing process and the beers. The Brewery does not serve food, but you can bring in food or order food from the many restaurants up and down the Strand. I wish this Brewery would have opened on the Strand years ago. This is definitely a place you will go to every time you visit the Island. read more
