Ok, I mean it's not Texas BBQ by any means, but it's not horrible. The meat was dryer than Texas BBQ, I had to use bbq sauce that I typically wouldn't use. The Mac was good, the beans were alright, the banana pudding was banana pudding. The pickles seem to be homemade and alright. If I didn't have yummy Texas BBQ to compare it to, I'd probably increase my rating. I always want really good, enthusiastic service, but I didn't get it. They just looked at me, blinking, meanwhile I was waiting for a greeting.

Guy in the back was extremely rude brisket dry as can be food barely even warm very disappointing .Been once before total different experience

This is a lesson on how not to serve bbq. The chicken was dry. The brisket had more fat on it than meat and protein. The side of broccoli was cold and brown. There was no smoke taste in any of the meat. No bbq flavor in the beans. Very disappointing experience. Not even any smoke rings on the meat.

Well, this was an unexpected surprise. Yelp led me here for dinner last Friday night as I'm always interested in a good bbq restaurant. Naked BBQ is located very close to I-17 on the end cap of a strip center with parking out front. Inside, it's a counter service restaurant with a smallish dining area next to a self serve drink fountain. Two bbq sauces are also available there. A sweet one and a spicy one. I asked for a two meat platter with two sides for $16. I chose sliced brisket and pulled chicken with beans and potato salad. The platter also came with some cornbread and is prepared in front of you as it is selected. Immediately, I noticed the very generous serving sizes of everything on the platter. It was a lot of food and a steal for $16. The brisket was moist cut (with fat) and had a nice bark on it. It was tasty and tender with good flavor. The pulled chicken was also flavorful and tender and with some of the sweet sauce on top delicious. I also tried some of the spicy sauce and found it to be only slightly spicy so I enjoyed it also on the meats. The baked beans had some brisket in them (a plus) and were in a savory broth. I enjoyed them. Finally the potato salad was served cool and while mayo based also had a little bit of mustard and along with the other ingredients was quite good tasting too. With the moist cornbread, I could find no fault with this meal. My only very slight criticism (no stars deducted) is that I thought both bbq sauces while flavorful were a little bit runny. I would have liked more body to them however I am nitpicking. This meal was a 4+ and when I add the price and large serving sizes, I must give a 5 here. This is an excellent BBQ restaurant!

A two meat platter costs $17.38 which is what I ordered. I decided to try their brisket (you can either get this sliced or chopped) and jalepeno hot link along with two orders of mac n cheese since a platter already comes with one cornbread. They have a vegetable of the day side but I decided against it since they weren't making one that I liked. This two meat platter is more than enough for me to get full. The only thing I didn't finish is half of a sliced brisket. I have to say that I liked the jalepeno hot links the most even though it wasn't spicy at all. They have spicy and sweet BBQ sauce too. The entire meal was absolutely delicious.

I was proactive and made reservations from their website. It was same day so we got in for 1:30 PM which was great when you want a lazy morning. Upon arriving, the location is in a shopping plaza but nothing else appears to be open or even in business. There's plenty of free parking in the lot but we took a ride share. There's nearby retailers like Costco but in this complex it looked dead except for Sugar Jam. When you enter, people were waiting to be seated and you can hear the music from outside! This is a lively, DJ friendly atmosphere with lots of activity happening from the bar to the dining room. The hostess checked us in, we walked around and took pictures, admired all the beautiful people dining and it's an open kitchen where you see the orders coming up. Mom and I were seated maybe 10 minutes after our reservation time. We were greeted by Vante - such a nice young man who was patient and helped us decide on what to order. We settled on the margarita flight, the watermelon hibiscus whisky smash, wings & waffles and the French toast and chicken. I also got blessed with a shout out from the DJ and a free shot for my birthday! The food came out quickly (however not together), was plated nicely and the flavors were present. The brown sugar butter and warm syrup on my French toast was a hit. The only complaint I'd note is the heat inside the establishment. I left my fan and desperately needed it. They did eventually bring out some industrial fans to cool the dining area off. The a/c needs to crank harder with all the bodies plus open kitchen. Otherwise, a great spot to eat, sing along, vibe a little and enjoy great breakfast food.

My friend and I pulled up and immediately thought, "This has to be a business or industrial area. This can't be it!" But sure enough, it was! Parking is pretty scarce, so just a heads-up. When we walked in, we noticed how aesthetically pleasing the place was. The artwork and decor were on point, and even the bathroom was decorated really cute! Our food came out pretty quickly. I ordered the catfish and grits. I personally prefer cheesy grits, but these came with a Southern gravy that was actually pretty good. I also like my fried eggs crispy around the edges, and they made them perfectly! I ordered the breakfast punch, which was just okay. It tasted more like juice, and I couldn't really taste the alcohol. I also wanted to try the margarita flight, but $30 was a little too pricey for me.Our waiter wasn't very sociable compared to some of the other waiters working that day, which was a little disappointing.Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would definitely eat here again if I'm ever back in Arizona. However, I'd probably just order takeout next time!

Anyway, we visited today (Sunday) and it was quite packed in there. Yes, it took about 10 minutes for someone to come over to us (we sat at the counter) but when we put our order in, it came put pretty fast and piping hot!! My husband had the catfish, slaw and macaroni and cheese. He finished it all! I had the smothered pork chops with rice and gravy and mashed potatoes and gravy. Mmmm carbs....amirite?! These were absolutely heavenly. The pork chop was tender and the gravy was so savory. I saw another review that someone complained the pork chops had bones but girl, that is where the flavor is! You better believe I gnawed on those things. Also, the corn bread...amazing, buttery, moist. I honestly can't wait to come back! Ignore the negative reviews, come here and try it yourself! Tucked back in a small building, just off Southern Avenue, you'll find Southern Fried. It is a small little walk in store front, so plan ahead to order out. We went ahead and ordered online to make things simple and easy. As shown on their building and advertised they show they serve Jamaican food so I was pretty let down when I looked at the menu to discover they do not have any Jamaican food. Seeing pictures of previous Yelp reviews of jerk chicken and oxtail left me bummed. We ended up ordering the fried okra, fried mushrooms, the 2 fish and 5 shrimp combo, along with the fried catfish and fries. We took our food to go and headed home, just around the corner. Once opening the containers i instantly got excited about the mushrooms. Anyone that knows me knows i am mushroom obsessed. With a quick dip in the ranch that came with and popping one into my mouth.... Yummmm! The okra was a bit of a miss. It seems they were still a bit slimy. Moving along to our main courses, I was disappointed to find that our fish was packed on top of our fries and the fries were very limp, soggy and unseasoned. I think packing the takeout differently could easily eliminate this issue. The catfish and shrimp were seasoned to perfection. They both had a perfect blend of spice and a light and crispy batter. I would love to see Jamaican food on the menu, as the advertising is a bit deceptive. Overall I would definitely be willing to try them again and would love to give one of their burgers a taste test.
