I stopped by Nalak Thai as I was craving khao soi, and saw that it was a recommended item on their menu here on yelp. Everyone was right as their khao soi did not disappoint. Their broth was so flavorful and completely hit the spot. My pleasant surprise at Nalak Thai though was their matcha selection. I ended up ordering a summer special item that was a southern peach matcha and oh my goodness it was soooo good! If you are a matcha fan I highly recommend their drinks as they are perfect in both the matcha color and taste. I thought this place had solid Thai food. We came here around an hour or less before closing time. It wasn't too packed at that time. The food came out very fast, probably because it wasn't that busy and it was near closing time. For a drink, I got (I think) the passionfruit yuzu soda. It was tasty, but I wished it had more carbonation. I feel like it probably needed more ginger ale. I heard the matcha here is really good, but I am not a huge fan of matcha so I didn't try it We ordered the papaya salad, drunken noodles, and the pork belly kra prao. The papaya salad was solid. I found this place because I was searching for matcha and Thai tea. And I saw this place has matcha flights! I unfortunately couldn't do the flight this time around because I knew I needed to eat but plan on trying it next time. I liked that this was in a shopping center so plenty of parking. The decor is perfect for those who love taking pictures whether just of the food and drinks or of yourself as well. The staff are all very nice and the food and drinks came out fast. We tried the steam dumplings, crispy duck kra prao, chicken basil fried rice, salted caramel cloud red Thai tea, and cookie butter matcha. Really loved the drinks. The dumplings you have to dip in the sauce or it does taste a little bland. Sauce brings out the flavors and texture. The fried rice was very yummy and the duck was great reheated. The Nalak Matcha Flight is cute and a bit gimmicky but it's a lot of fun. Matcha is ok quality and the mango and strawberry uses oat milk, no substitutes allowed. I liked the coconut cloud and Thai tea, but it's really just a fun drink. You don't need high quality matcha for it. The color was a bit dull, but it doesn't really matter when it becomes a sweet drink. Their food is better in my opinion. The Thai Beef Steak special is good, a fair amount of meat and veggies with a lovely teriyaki-flavor savory sauce. The veggies were wet though and watered down the sauce though. The panang curry is not too creamy. Both great with rice. The grilled skewers were good and well grilled and came with a warmed sweet and sour sauce. Overall, a good spot but nothing too special. They have a lot of different items to choose from and lots of matcha options, but I would not say anything was necessarily high quality at the price point. All three were delicious and not overly sweet. To share, we started with the crab rangoon, spring rolls and drunken noodles. All three were very tasty and fresh! The crispy duck kra pow was absolutely delicious and I would come back again and again for this dish. It paired well with the som thum to add a little freshness between the savory-ness of the duck. The crab rangoons were also surprisingly delicious and the sweet sauce paired perfectly with it. The Khao soi was personally not my favorite dish. The pairing works really well with the crispy pork belly and broccoli. It comes with a small bowl of rice and just slabbering the curry all over really hits the spot. Extremely well constructed dish. The Pad Thai was quite interesting. It's a bit more pan fried than I'm typically used to (which I personally appreciate) but they add some sort of mystery ingredient that I don't normally encounter in pad Thai . Vinegar? Mint? Lemongrass? It kinda works but thought it was just a tad overpowering, made us measure our bites instead of just wolfing it down like typical pad Thai. The crispy chicken however was phenomenal. They definitely marinate the chicken before breading and crisping it, and it really pops out. Super juicy and compensated for the unexpected pad Thai flavor. It's a bit pricy, but the food itself is well crafted, kudos to chef and team. Nice date night spot, but wouldn't be a regular there. Hands down, this is one of my new favorite Thai spots in the area. I was sold the moment I saw their unique matcha drinks, and they absolutely delivered. We went there at 6pm on a Saturday. There was plenty of seating but got much more crowded 20 minutes into our meal. We were seated promptly and helped to menus (which were very long and extensive, lots of options!!) and glasses of water. The ambience was lively (because of the music being played) but it was slightly hushed conversations- making for great vibes everything we ordered was good or at least (true to the description). The sesame matcha was incredibly sesame tasting- Thai tea matcha was phenomenal but bitter. Fried banana rolls were hot, fresh and paired lovelily with the ice cream and the bua loy though not our favorite had a yummy sauce! Had my birthday dinner here with a few close girlfriends. They arranged the biggest table for us in the middle of their quaint little space. The service was quick and attentive. We ordered from their mocktail menu which looked yummy and had alot of variety. I got a mango mocktail which was good. For entrees we got the chilli wings and the steamed dumplings. Both were good. For entrees we tried their chicken vegtable stirfry and the basil fried rice. We are used to thai restos in the area asking you your spice preference so when they did not, we were curious and asked and they said we usually make the food non-spicy unless someone especially asks. I thought that was different than what we were used to. The stir fry was ok - nothing exceptional. The basil fried rice was yum and we really enjoyed that. I saw a couple friends order a noodle dish which came with fried chicken and that was unique. Overall good meal and they accommodated us nicely. I was finally able to make a visit and brought along two friends who were visiting from Greece. Surprisingly this restaurant is surrounded by other establishments such as Hyderabad House, BBQ 21 and Yi Fang Taiwan Tea. As you walked in, you will be mesmerized by the unique light fixture, modern and sleek interior and comfortable atmosphere. There were 7 items ordered: 1) Moo Ping 2) Fried Tofu 3) Beef Salad 4) Pad Thai 5) Panang Curry 6) Mango Sticky Rice 7) Drunken Noodle. When the moo ping arrive to the table, the grilled pork skewers were tender, nice charred and delicious. The fried tofu were colossal, lightly fried, served with a sweet chili pineapple sauce but be careful on your first bite as the interior is piping hot. As you carefully dip the tofu in the sauce, they are tender, bouncy and delicious. We can't forget about the beef salad, the combination and flavors were on point. The slice beef was so tender that was accompanied by cucumbers, red onions, romaine whites, green onions and drizzle with a spicy lime dressing which makes this dish so refreshing and delicious. The chicken pad thai was incredibly amazing, one of the stables of Thailand. The panang curry with tofu and broccoli was tasty and good. For dessert, we got the mango sticky rice. Everything about this dish was on point, just wish there were a little bit more of the coconut syrup and the rice was very moist. There wasn't any mung bean toppings unless they ran out. Unfortunately their drunken noodles with beef were good and tasty but their wide noodles were overcooked and the slice beef were cooked inconsistently. Some beef were tough ànd the ones under the pile of noodles were tender. Our server Zinny was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. For each dish, they will ask how your spice level is and implement to your liking. We had excellent service, as all staff members were friendly and will stop by your table to check on you. Good food and location...but a 20% service charge? I brought my family (a party of six) to Nalak Thai a few weeks ago for dinner. I grew up in Thai Food, so I appreciated and enjoyed the food, as did my family. My wife and kids are also matcha fans, so they enjoyed the different matcha drink selection that Nalak Thai offered. Enjoyed dinner, and I got the bill and tipped 20%. It wasn't until I got home and looked at the itemized receipt that I noticed a "Service Charge" of 20% was tacked on. Now I know as a consumer I should check the bill to make sure it's accurate before I left. But it had gotten late on a weeknight and my youngest had school the next day and I had work. At no point did the server or anyone state that there would be a 20% service charge tacked on the bill. Maybe it was listed on the menu, but it wasn't prominent enough that I (or the five others in my party for that matter) noticed it. Maybe the 20% "service charge" was an automatic gratuity since we were a party of six...but if that was the case, the line item should have said "gratuity" instead of "service charge". This is too bad. My family liked Nalak Thai, and their menu differentiates their restaurant from other Thai restaurants in the area, but I don't think we'll be heading back. I had heard about this new place that just opened from a friend and we decided to give it a try. I don't even really remember what used to be here, but I was excited to try a new Thai place. It's located in a shopping center and parking can get quite crowded as there are a lot of other shops around but the lot is quite big. The interior is very well decorated and very aesthetic and the lighting is really good in the restaurant as well. I think the best thing about this place was the service where they were very attentive and polite. The food in my opinion is a little bit overpriced compared to other Thai restaurants, but we ordered the chicken sauté, pad, Thai, drunken noodles, and a ginger fry. The chicken sauté came with five skewers and the sauces were quite good. My favorite was the ginger stirfry and it was very flavorful. The portions are a good size where you might have some left over to take home. I would be willing to try it again, but it also compares to a lot of other Thai restaurants in the area. read more

We ordered a few dishes to share and overall had a solid experience, with some clear standouts. The crab fried rice was generous and well-loaded with toppings. We ordered it medium spicy, which felt like a true "average medium." We personally enjoy food on the spicier side, so next time we'd probably go spicy, but we held back this round since we can't quite handle true Thai-level spicy. Flavor-wise, it was satisfying and well-balanced. The Panang curry with chicken (also medium spicy) had excellent flavor--rich, fragrant, and comforting--but the portion was a bit of a letdown. It only came with chicken and broccoli. I've definitely seen Panang curry served with more variety and vegetables elsewhere, so compared to the crab fried rice, it felt sparse despite tasting great. Drinks were a mixed bag. The black sesame matcha latte crème was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS--easily a standout and something I'd come back for on its own. On the other hand, the Thai iced tea was a bit too sweet for my liking, though that may be perfect for those who prefer a sweeter drink. Overall, strong flavors and a few highlights, with some room for improvement on curry portions. Would return, especially for the fried rice and that black sesame matcha latte. read more

Ok honestly this place is pricey. But, I thought it was without a doubt higher tier Thai food. The restaurant has a calm, simple decor. Service is great and you can tell the food comes out hot off the stove as soon as it's ready. The flavors and quality of food is better than the average Thai place, and there's a definite authenticity with this place. Even with the pricier dishes I would probably come eat here again. read more
