Great selection of food at a great price. We went with the all you can eat, and for the price it was worth it. The fish was fresh, and they service was great as they came frequently to check if we wanted more. Empty inside but a cool style with decor that makes it feel trendy.

Vegetarian - Tofu Teriyaki bento box.

*** Vegetarian Review *** Tips for first timers: 1. Lunch specials available Monday-Saturday 2. Limited vegetarian options 3. All-You-Can-Eat option and they have a total of 3 vegetarian rolls to choose from 4. Lots of parking Would I Come Back? Yes - the tofu and crunchy sides (tempura and spring roll) made for a tasty lunch. Next time, I'll give their all-you-can-eat sushi a try. They offer three vegetarian rolls, including one with mango and another that has deep fried veggies - both sound delicious. Tofu Teriyaki ($12.95 / 3.5 stars) I stopped by for the lunch special and decided to try the tofu teriyaki bento box. The tofu was cooked to perfection, with a flavorful teriyaki glaze, and the vegetable tempura was impressively light and crispy, not oily at all. Opted for the vegetarian spring rolls as the additional side --- I'm fairly sure these aren't made on site. Looks a little Costco-ey, but I really appreciated the crunch of these for additional textural differences. The bento box also included miso soup and a small salad - the miso soup was hot and had a lot of seaweed which is a plus. The salad unfortunately didn't quite hit the mark -- the dressing resembled a thick Thousand Islands. I was hoping it was more sesame based like other Japanese restaurants. This would get a solid 4 stars if the salad matched the taste quality of the other bento items and the spring rolls were house-made. For the purpose of this rating, I'm giving it 4-stars because it wouldn't be fair to round-down to 3 stars. My eyeballs showed that the other 4 tables of patrons were really enjoying their meat-options so I'm rounding up because it looks like both meat and non-meat eaters can enjoy a neighborhood Japanese restaurant. What really stood out was the welcoming atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, and I love supporting neighborhood spots like this one. Plus, parking was a breeze, which is always a bonus compared to the downtown grid.

* For the AYCE sushi price, this place is decent. * However, I was a bit disappointed at the service because there was only one other table aside from mine and the worker took awhile to take our order for each next course. So for most the time we spent at the restaurant, it was waiting to receive our next round of sushi. * The teriyaki chicken appetizer was extremely dry. However, I enjoyed their lion king roll, ebi, tako, and masago nigiri. Their deep fried bananas/ sesame balls for dessert were also really tasty. * The One Piece decor in the restaurant is really cute !

Nice service! All guys are talkative and friendly, the quality of sushi is good, some of them have cheese so that probably tastes a little weird but not bad! What's also nice is unlike other restaurants, the tips are optional, a good and quiet place in summary!

Weekday lunch for some sushi! Nami sushi is under new ownership, there is still AYCE and a separate menu with combos. A lot of variety of choices and a good size. Was seated quickly with water. Plenty of seating available. The food was mostly good and awesome price. Ordered a pork katsu soup bento box ($14.95) and a 3 roll sushi ($15.25). For the 3 rolled sushi, choose from simple basic cook or raw rolls, got kamikaze, fish skin, and salmon tempura roll. Both orders came with salad and miso soup. As for the salad, it was watery, not too fresh. The miso soup had great flavor. The bento box was a great portion, I wish that the bento box contained sashimi or two piece roll. 3 roll sushi was good, the rolls were filling, not too much rice per roll. Overall, the lunch combo can be better, so hoping to see improvements soon.

I used to love this place back when I was a student. Davis has a lot of ayce sushi but this one was always my favorite - their rolls are really unique. My all time favorite used to be the dynamite - with the creamy sauce and grilled fish being the star of the show. The server was surprised I asked about it since it's not on their lunch menu anymore but mentioned it is available during dinner. The closest thing I got was the lion king roll which was pretty similar in terms of the fish but not the same dynamite sauce. Loved everything I ordered and had to end the day with the donuts.

My partner and I stopped by for dinner and weren't very impressed. The spider roll I got tasted pretty decent, however I believe the quantity of food per plate does did not justify the pricing. In addition, the saba dish my partner got was way too salty, she couldn't finish it even after attempting to dilute the salt with water and rice. The place gets a handful of people around dinner time and I saw plenty of people picking up take out orders, so maybe there's something I missed out on about this place.

The service and the food were pretty good. They offer AYCE all day on Fri-Sun with the dinner price, and the food was freshly prepared. I was there in Friday afternoon without that many people, and my orders came quickly. The rice was seasoned on the sweet side but I prefer more vinegar. Now the suggested tips are printed on the check!

California hand roll, salmon nigiri, hamachi nigiri

Don't get me wrong, this isn't a five star sushi experience. But for the price it was an amazing deal. Went here with a group of friends on the way back from Tahoe. About 30 dollars for AYCE sushi, with plenty of sides for a seafood allergic friend ( he's a homie for coming along). The California hand roll was my favorite, delicious, moist, filled with imitation crab, generous fresh avocado. I actually would come back just for that. Sake rolls and salmon were also great, fatty fresh tasting cuts. I usually order 50+ dollars worth of sushi on my own, so to me this was so worth it. They don't have sashimi on the ayce menu, only nigiri so you can't do your Paleo diet here though.

This is a nice spot for a dinner date in town! We got 4 rolls for 48 dollars and the food was good. This place has a classic sushi restaurant look and plenty of room between tables. I thought the Firebird was a creative roll with the black pepper sauce and would recommend it! Overall solid place for a date! The chefs make good sushi and it won't break the bank and the service is good! (We've come here a couple times now and they gave us miso soup on the house- so sweet!)

Nami Sushi was such a solid place for sushi back in college! I was visiting Davis over the weekend and had to come here for AYCE. It was $27.71 per person which is such a steal compared to Bay Area prices. Unfortunately the food definitely did not deliver. I think for the price it was ok - but there was SO much rice and such thinly sliced fish. I usually LOVE salmon but the salmon nigiri and rolls were a let down. I think Nami is a great choice if you want a fill up on lots of sushi - but the quality is a bit missing. I love their donuts though!

I love Nami sushi!!! It's one piece themed and it has the greatest vibe. I love anime AND SUSHI. Service is quick and the owner is sooooo nice. Food is amazing as well and very reasonably priced.

Decided to come here for my friends birthday. This is one of her favorite AYCE sushi restaurants in town! It was my first experience here so I was very excited. First off, I like how its in a separate plaza away from downtown Davis. You don't have to worry about parking at all. There's tons of space. The restaurant itself is pretty small so I would recommend going early and putting your name down. They do have a bathroom as well. From what I've learned, the AYCE is only on the weekends now so take advantage of it. I don't know many sushi restaurants that still have that. Onto the food now, my friend has been here so I let her order for me and I added anything else I wanted afterwards. Each roll is about four pieces so you can enjoy a bit of everything. Some of my favorites were the spider, lion king and golden dragon. I'm a huge fan of hand rolls so I got the spicy tuna and salmon respectively. For the dessert, I ordered the sesame ball and they were so delicious. The waiter was very helpful and tentative throughout our stay. Thank you so much Nami Sushi! Can't wait to come back

Salmon and tuna nigiri, and rolls. Maki tuna and unagi are solid.

I sat at the sushi bar. It took quite a long time for someone to come over and take my order. And it also took a little while for my sushi and sashimis to come out. One thing that grosses me out a little bit is that my soy sauce dish is oily. But I can't wave anyone down so I used it anyways.. The sashimis are fresh. And they give really big pieces too so it is great value. The Madai sashimi still have scales on them tho that was a little surprising in texture. The nigiris are in massive pieces. Which again I appreciate the value. However, the uni was visibly dark in color in some piece. I thought it might be a regional character (cuz uni from different place can have different colors). But upon first bite it tasted a little stinky which is not how it's supposed to taste. To be honest, I would rather have less uni and smaller nigiri if I can just have fresh fish. When eating raw fish freshness is a huge priority. This dinning experience too way longer than expected. And I'm very disappointed in the freshness of an expensive ingredient. I do hope they improve and succeed as it's been in Davis for so long.

Didn't get to try much sushi or raw fish. Service: Don't feel like I can give a fair rating because most small-scale Asian restaurants like these have a different service culture than the typical "American" restaurant. No complaints. They were respectful. Ambiance 2/5: It's a pretty run-down restaurant. It's a very cramped and narrow building with tattered seats. Chairs were stacked up in the middle of the eating area. We were excited to try it since it had many great reviews and the pictures made the food look delicious. There's street parking around the restaurant. Inside, you stand in line and say your order once you reach the register. They call your name when your order is ready. They had 6 or 7 tables from what I remember with high chair and regular chair options. You can get a cup of water for free. Utensils are on the tables. Here's what we ordered: * Poke bowl with 2 protein choices $14.25 - Note, you can opt to do a small bowl option with 1 choice of protein. You can add toppings for $1 each or pay for their topping combos. We found this poke bowl to not be the best value since no toppings were included in the price of the bowel. My husband was not a huge fan of the fish and said it did not taste like the poke he used to eat growing up in Hawaii. He said it was lacking Hawaiian salt. * Soft shell crab sushi wrap $16.50 - Huge sushi wrap split in two! This was delicious and had a good amount of soft shell crab in it. It tasted like a handheld sushi roll with soft shell crab. I loved it. I ate half in the restaurant and then reheated the other half at home the next day. I enjoyed this a lot and would order this again! I'm giving 4 stars since I don't think the poke bowl is the best value compared to other poke bowl places I've visited, but I loved the sushi wrap and highly recommend it for a filling meal. I plan to come back sometime and try the sashimi sushi wrap, one of the bowls, or the poke nachos.
