Nami sushi was so good. My only regret is I have no photos of this amazing lunch I had! First, the service here is out of this world. Our waitress was the nicest woman. Like your favorite Auntie, nice. You just wanted to squeeze her. So for lunch I decided to go for for their Roll Deluxe which you pick two rolls and they give you a choice of soup or salad. I got salad, but I'd recommend getting the soup as my friends loved the miso soup and I only liked my salad. I got a shrimp tempura roll and a spicy tuna roll. The spicy tuna roll was epic. I assumed it'd be some mayo-mixed roll, but no, it was hunks of tuna which were the perfect amount of spice. I've never had a spicy tuna roll so good, honestly. And the shrimp tempura roll was enormous, delicious, and everything you want from that roll. Both rolls were huge. Being lunch I figured I'd leave still a little hungry as it wouldn't be enough, but that was not the case at all. I left so hungry, yet so happy and this quickly has become one of my favorites, if not my new favorite sushi place. I'm so glad I found Nami and I will most definitely be back exploring more rolls, and taking photos next time. read more

Best sushi spot in South Florida. Big statement, I know. There may be other places that offer more exotic or even better sushi including Nami's two other locations but none offer the quality, size of pieces, energetic staff, local vibe and extremely reasonable price that Nami Sushi in Miramar offers. The place is located in a small, isolated strip mall that has a cosmetic surgery place, a Venezuelan restaurant and a martial arts studio. If you blink you might drive by it. My wife and I have been coming here for many years and this is the standard that we compare all other sushi restaurants to. Few are better... most are not. We travel all the way from Kendall to eat here. The fish is always fresh and the pieces are generously large, especially the Sashimi. We always get the Tsunami Boat for 2 that includes your choice of Miso soup or Ginger Salad for each person, 16 pieces of Sashimi, 14 Nigiri sushi, a tuna roll and a California roll 10 pieces each. All for $48. Again, you might think that the sushi has to be tiny but in fact it is larger than most other, more expensive places. The service here is also fantastic. Usually staffed by a young wait staff that really wants to give top notch service with very enthusiastic energy. This location also has Chinese and Thai food as well as everything you would expect from a Japanese restaurant including Moshi. The place is small with a glass waterfall partition in the middle of the dining room. The bathrooms are clean and it never smells of fish. The vibe of the place is of a local neighborhood restaurant. It doesn't do justice to any of the cuisines it's attempting to represent. Been my go-to sushi spot in the area when I moved to Broward. So yes, the amount of check ins do not reflect the real amount of times I've been there. And it's a pretty good sign when you see the same servers for all these years! So straight to the food. My go-to sushi dishes are the Cajun Booty Roll and the Daiymo Roll. Cajun Booty Roll -- It's definitely different, a good different. It is smokey in flavor, much like eating jerk chicken, but in this sense, it's jerk sushi. There's a bit of kick to it. A definitely bigger kick if you dip it in spicy mayo. The fish on the outside is seared so expect this roll to be a little bit cooked. I just love how this roll just tastes really different in terms of flavor. Not the usual umami taste you get from most sushi. Daiymo Roll -- If you love raw fish, this is the sushi for you! It comes with salmon, tuna, and white fish, along with tempura flakes, avocado, asparagus, scallions, and masago. Sounds like a lot, because it is a lot! They are also quite big, because well of course, they would need to stuff all that fish! Quality of the sushi is good and I absolutely love the portions. Most rolls are 8-10 pieces, so I sometimes struggle to finish a roll to myself. I've also had their pad thai, which isn't so bad, and again with the portions, it's a lot, so you will take some home (it's like paying for two meals for the price of one, hehe). My favorite appetizer item is their lettuce wraps. It could be a meal in itself because it is a lot. The meat is already so juicy, I don't need to use much of the sauce they provide. So much flavor, and I don't feel guilty when I order this because... well, lettuce wraps... sounds healthy, right? I used to order their Tom Yum Goong (Thai hot and sour soup with shrimp) but would always complain about the amount of shrimp, which is like 3 pieces max, floating in such a big bowl. I would get it because I really did like the flavor of the broth, it's not intensely spicy -- just enough kick. It's a pretty good soup to have when you have stuffy sinuses! However, in my last visit, I've ordered the Tom Kha Gai (Thai hot and sour soup with coconut milk and chicken) and oh my gai (hehe), I've converted to this soup! It's creamy, still has the right kick I'm looking for in my old tom yum goong, and I didn't expect for it to have generous slices of tender chicken. Again, big bowl, because this place just likes to give big portions. So if you're looking for a good Japanese-Thai place in the Miramar area, I recommend this one (and yes, they have other branches). It's a spot my mother and I frequently go to after our massage dates at the nearby spa hehe :) read more

It really saddens me to have to write this review and anyone that knows me, knows my love for Nami's Cajun Booty Roll. This review is long overdue and it really upsets me that I am having to do this. Nami is one of my favorite sushi spots and I am a regular here. The take-out staff already knows who I am when I go to pick up my order. If my phone number is looked up in their database, they would see how much money I have invested in their sushi. Its almost embarrassing! Two of their servers here know my order by memory already- I have always had a good experience here! I really do love the food here, but, honestly my last experience was awful. Awful. Awful. One of their servers is a short, Asian woman with glasses.. she has always been very stand-offish with me as if I used to steal her lunch money during her middle school years or something! I am not exaggerating at all. I usually just pay no mind to it, but this time she really did it for me. Before I begin, the restaurant had only two other tables full that day AND there was another server on staff. So there really is no excuse for how this woman was treating us. I sat down at my table with my best friend and she just walks up to us in the most monotone voice and just asks "Water?". She didn't say hello, hi, nothing! Just "water?" ... I said yes. She brought back two waters and asks, "you ready?" No, Yelp, this is not a typo. I did not mean to right you're* or are you*, this woman just said "you ready?" as if this were some sort of text conversation we were having. Already annoyed, I ordered my usual and she took our menus and left. When our sushi was ready, she brought it out, placed it on our table and as my best friend is asking her "Can I have spicy mayo, eel sauce and sriracha?", she walks away mid-spicy mayo. She didn't even say "okay" or anything, she left my friend with her words in her mouth. I was so upset at that moment because her actions just seemed so rude, almost as if she were purposefully avoiding us. This woman had made no eye-contact with us the entire time and was just being so rude. She brings us the sauces (Glad she heard us! I could've bet a pretty dollar she was only going to bring out the spicy mayo) and at the point I just wanted to be done with my meal so I can get home and write a review on exactly what had happened. When we tried to get her attention so that she can bring us the bill, she walks up to us and said "what?" ...Yelp, I kid you not. This person said "what?".. honestly, I just was about to fall over off of my chair at that point because I was in complete awe. Me and my friend looked at each other as my friend said to me "what is wrong with this woman?" When she brought us our bill, of course, she lingered around waiting for us to pay. What annoys me at that point was how avoidant she was the entire time to then be lingering around our table while we are paying the bill? *sigh* Life. Without surprise, we did not leave her any tip. I just couldn't. She wasn't nice to us at all. I always leave a generous and well-deserved tip and especially at a place where I am a regular at! When we stood up, she snatched the bill from the table and to her surprise there was no tip which was when she looked at me and my friend and said "No tip?", in complete shock. My friend having a very short fuse answered quickly. The conversation went as follows: Server: No tip? My friend: uhm....no Server: *mumbles something under her breath* My friend: What did you say? Server: no, nothing My friend: No, tell me! Server: I have to split my tip with the sushi chef My friend: That is not my problem. Maybe if you were a little nicer, I would tip you. Overall, this experience was awful. I HAVE NEVER HAD A WORSE EXPERIENCE WITH A SERVER. Correction: I had never had a server treat me that way. Going out to eat is a hobby of mine, I am always at a restaurant having daily encounters with servers. I have never had an experience like this. I have not aten at Nami Sushi since then. If anyone decides to eat at this restaurant please avoid this server, however, Nami has other wonderful servers. Please sit with the taller asian woman that has a bigger build and a very welcoming personality or any of the other two female servers: a young hispanic woman and a young american woman with ash blonde hair, blue eyes and occasionally wears glasses. read more

Terrible! Went here for lunch today. My coworker and I wanted to try a new Sushi place for lunch. I ordered the "Bento" box with the chicken teriyaki. It came with 5 pieces of a California roll, orange slices, a spring roll, and a bowl of fried rice (for an additional $1.50). We each had the house salad to start with ginger dressing and my coworker order their sushi for lunch. First of all, the salad dressing did not taste anything like ginger at all. Tasted like Kraft French dressing. I wasn't impressed. My meal came ... The rice was disgusting and old ... It literally looked (and tasted) like left over Chinese rice. The chicken was OK - drowning in watery teriyaki sauce ... The spring roll was ok; I've had better. The sushi was actually decent. However, I spent $15 on my meal ... And it was a lunch special. Not worth $10! My coworker spent the same amount ... One of the servers dumped the rice bowl in my coworkers purse ... And didn't even help her to clean it out. We showed up at 11:29 am and there were already a few people waiting. Good reason as to why. We had just finished a morning meeting and were starving. The three of us all took advantage of the insanely reasonable lunch special and it was outstanding. I loved loved their spicy tuna. And I don't like spicy tuna. They don't make it in a salad version. It's just deliciously spiced and just enough. It doesn't pack on the heat so you can't taste your own buds. The salmon roll was so fresh and fatty I couldn't believe the generous portion in the roll. Within a half hour the entire house was packed to the gills. It's a primary business area so they definitely make the most out of their lunch crowd. Very disappointed with treatment we received tonight. Called for delivery from our hospital where we've had delivery multiple times. Was told by the woman that they don't deliver to us (the restaurant is five minutes down the road) and we have had delivery many times. Then was told they couldn't take our order because they're too busy and it will take two hours. Was told "not tonight, not tonight". So they just decided not to take our order. I've eaten here twice, and both times, the portions, presentation, and service were outstanding. First off, the menu is quite extensive -- it's almost a novel. I always had the perception that 'pan-Asian' restaurants could not pull off any single cuisine well enough, but Nami nails it each time. The Thai Wonton Soup portion was HUGE -- a whopping FIVE wontons in a single bowl. (Yes, this was a single portion.) The Singapore Rice Noodles was by far one of the largest portions of any noodle dish I've ordered in a restaurant ever. The pieces of roast pork in the dish were plentiful, and the noodles were tasty without too much of an overbearing curry flavor (that can often come out a little pasty). The Spicy Rainbow Roll was expertly prepared, and the XTR Roll had a slightly smoky flavor, from the broiled smoked salmon, and the masago and soy bean mayo rounded out the flavors. This neat little spot is in far west Broward, but it's worth the trip. My only regret is that I live over 60 miles away and I can't visit this restaurant as frequently as I'd like. read more

I usually start with their Tom Kha Goong/Gai soup which is creamy soup with coconut milk and lemon grass and I add shrimp... yumm! Then I'll order one of their sushi combos. Thier Nami Boat is supposed to be for 1 person, but I think it may be good enough for 2 to share. It has lots of fresh sashimi, sushi, 1/2 a California roll and a full salmon roll.
