    Chicken & Waffles

Not your typical chicken and waffles bc the chicken is coated in a dry rub seasoning. I chose mild for my heat level which wasn't too bad for someone who doesn't have a spice tolerance! The pieces of chicken, kinda of like tenders, were a good size and very moist. The waffles were crispy. The maple syrup is on the thinner side and not as sweet as it normally is. They do charge extra for maple syrup so use sparingly! My order came out super quick and there are tables inside for you to sit. Paid street parking is available

A great little place, I did a take out. Nashville sandwich is amazing and loved the taste. Tikkavile was bit tangy for my preference but still tasted fresh and good. My order was ready within 10mins. I would visit again.

Service B plus Chicken sandwich was good @5.00' for large fries they came out COLD. Place is clean but serving cold fries when clearly there was only ME in the place is not a good look.

Ordered Namkeen on a Friday after a long work week - well worth the calories to say the least. It's a rich, savory meal made with high quality ingredients. You have to try a sandwich and the loaded fries, at the very least. I'll probably need a few months before I can go back lol.

I've been wanting to try this place for a good while now and I finally got the chance to the other day. I was at Twin Elephant Brewing Company with my girlfriend and her friend enjoying a beer when I said, "Let's get some food after this, I'm starving!" They agreed. My girlfriend was like, "OMG let's get Namkeen since you have been wanting to try it for so long, you're going to die(of happiness)." So we placed an order for takeout from their website while we continued enjoying our beers. Note: I wish they had plant based chicken and hopefully they will add it to their menu soon We ordered: - Dhamaka Fries 10/10 (we ordered them without chicken since I'm vegen/vegetarian but we realized they added chicken after opening it. I was like whatever and ate them anyways since I'd had some meat for the first time in a while over the past couple of days) - Nashville Sandwich 10/10 (this was for my girlfriend's friend and I tasted it too and wow just wow) I haven't been inside yet as we waited in the car while her friend went inside and grabbed our order but from what I saw from the car it looks like a super cute place. I'll definitely be back soon and I cannot wait to try those fries again, but this time without the chicken. Enjoy :)

I've had Namkeen's Nashville chicken sandwich a few times, which is what the are known for, but the true star is the Tikkaville sandwich is out of this world! Both sandwiches are delicious, but Tikka's toppings set this sandwich apart. It has a nice amount of kick but not overpowering, the chicken is crispy and juicy and the combination of the tikka sauce, mint chutney and cole slaw elevate this sandwich to a different level. The Indian flavors are a welcomed change to the fried chicken sandwich. This is one of the best chicken sandwiches that I've had! The masala fries, which are flavored with Indian spices, are a very nice complement.

When did you start providing smaller portions of the Maple Wings? I used to use a knife and fork for each piece. Very disappointed.

I had to return to Namkeen a few months after being introduced to it at a Yelp event. Excellent chicken sandwiches and wings to go in Chatham. The Nashville sandwich remained our favorite at a mid spice level. Tried the Chicken Waffle sandwich. Interesting but I prefer the Nashville. Very surprised by how good the Maple Wings were. Lots of thickness and stickiness in the sauce, laden on. Yummy. I ordered ahead to go. Ready on time with pleasant counter service. It is a sweet little hole in the wall cafe on Main Street in Chatham. I will be back. Portions were fair size, in my opinion. I like that you can adjust the heat level. Some do like it super hot! I like mid hot.

I've always wanted to check this place out but never got around to it until last month and I've been hooked ever since. Now it's become my mission in life to try literally everything off this incredibly delicious menu full of Pakistani Infused Hot Halal Chicken Dishes and lately I've even become a regular customer popping in and out just to try some new and different deliciousness.   Namkeen is the Ultimate Hot Chicken Destination and anyone who lives in this area and hasn't had the opportunity to try it, should most definitely make it a priority. Their outstanding quality can be tasted in every crunchy juicy tasty mouth watering bite as they only use all natural hormone and antibiotic free Halal Chicken.   And as for me, I always leave here extremely satisfied with everything that I've ordered to date so the only thing left to say is . . Come And Get Your Munch On!!

My wife has been talking about this place and we were in town and finally decided to try it. The chicken was very crispy and fresh. The waffle was thick and fluffy. Its a personal preference but I prefer the flavor of other fried chicken place but maybe because we ordered mild and should have gotten something spicer. The service there is excellent. There are tables both inside and outside.

Came here on a rainy Friday evening. I had this place on my yelp for a while and decided to take the 30 min drive to check it out. The place is small and was packed and busy. The lady who took my order was friendly. I got thr hot chicken sandwich, fries, mac and cheese, and two drinks. We dined in. The place was clean and they work efficiently. Our fries and nac came out first. The fries were good but not hot, the mac was ok, very different. It was spicy, but tasted like luke warn noodles tossed in a savory sauce. I wish it was hot and the cheese was cooked/ mixed in better. The sandwich came about 10 min later. It was big, juicy, spicy, and well seasoned. I appreciate that it wasnt greasy. Im not a fan of chipotle flavor and the sauce over powered the sandwich. I should of took it off but that's my error. All in all I would come again and just get the chicken tenders and fries. My one BIG CON which knocked off a star was me watching a guy do online orders and constantly wiping and touching his nose while handling food boxes for the line. I have videos but im going to spare this place. I just hope he becomes more mindful and wear gloves. Luckily my food wasnt boxed .

    Ask the Community - Namkeen

What oil do they use for frying?

I wish I knew the answer, Zoe, but I'll do a bit of research and get back to you. One thing I do know, is that their chicken tastes damn good, and I'd wager that it's healthier than Popeye's.

Is the chicken white meat or dark?

White but who cares it is a freakin awesome meal.

I liked them but I know raisins might not be what most people prefer to add to their rice. Service was fast. You can either order at the front table or at your seat. They got the food in a reasonable amount of time. The place looks small from the outside, but when you walk in, there's a back room worth of 30 people worth of seating. It's extremely cozy inside. There's also a parking lot right next to the restaurant and also across the street. The lot right next door is kinda small though, so you might need to loop around. I know there's a million Halal spots popping up, and I will admit I'm very, very picky when it comes to platters. I miss the good ol' days on 53rd street in NYC... I came by around 10pm and was served quickly by a friendly employee. They have platters, burgers, wraps, wings, chicken tenders, fries, etc. I ordered the chicken rice platter (~$13.50). They cook the meat fresh on the grill and then you choose your toppings at the salad bar (olives, onions, peppers, tomatoes, etc.). It's a bit pricier than other places, but the portion size is huge. The container felt HEAVY lol. It's just a shame it went to waste because I really didn't enjoy the food. I only finished about half of it before I tossed the rest. The white sauce was almost flavorless and was VERY watery. The chicken wasn't as well-seasoned. No distinct spices or aroma. Every bite left me with a very greasy and salty taste in my mouth. The side salad was just okay. I was disappointed. The only saving grace was the rice... it was fluffy and the best part of the whole platter. Not sure if I came on an off night or...? Don't let my review stop you from trying. It might just not be the Halal spot for me.

Though the food was served quickly, it wasn't made quickly. Rice, particularly long-grain varieties like basmati, is blanched for a day before it's cooked. Meats are marinated in carefully prepared concoctions for hours to ensure tenderness. Lamb shanks are stewed for hours each day. Never had Afghan food? You're not alone. There are only a handful of Afghan restaurants in NJ. Located at the Westfield Plaza off of South Avenue E, some of my colleagues decided on takeout as first-timers for lunch, which came recommended as the food tastes and feels like home from this family-owned and -run establishment. We called the order in for their family platter consisting of Ground Chicken, Lamb and Beef Kababs, Garden Salad, Brown Rice, Fresh Naan Bread, and a side of Potatoes with a red sauce and yogurt. Upon arrival at Famous Kabab Cuisine, my colleague and I were greeted by the owner, Ahmed, who has more than 25 years of experience in making fresh bread and kabob, and informed us of a 5-minute wait. The food remained hot back into the office, would feed 5, and have some for leftovers. The kebabs (ground chicken, beef, and lamb) were well seasoned, tasted delicious, and paired beautifully with the brown rice. Top that bread or kebab with the trio of sauces. A white yogurt sauce with dill is very reminiscent of tzatziki sauce, a vinegary green sauce with cilantro and pureed walnuts, and, for those who do want the heat, a red habanero sauce that should have come with a warning. Overall, one can tell the food was made fresh with quality ingredients. It is not cheap, but one gets decent portions, which we can recommend.
