Namsan Tonkatsu located in Cheongdam Food Hall along side with many other yummy Asian restaurants. Our group stopped by here for lunch before we headed back to Cali during our Vegas trip. Took me a while to decided on what to eat, but I ended up going with Namsan Tonkatsu because their giant katsu was too hard to resist. I got the King Combo that comes with their giant king katsu, rice, side of coleslaw, mini kimbap, a shrimp tempura and a small bowl of udon. The portion was HUGE and I got to take home the left over and eat them for my next meal. Their katsu was breaded perfectly with w good batter to meat ration. Their sauce was so good and buttery!! I don't think Vegas realizes how rare it is to have a truly authentic Korean style Namsan katsu spot here. I've been here multiple times and they must have adjusted their recipe because it tastes even better than before. The taste is now comparable to what I can get in Seoul. The katsu itself was light and crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside (not oily). The SAUCE is perfected at this point so if management sees this please don't change it. There's little sides and soup to go with it too. This meal in particular I had was perfect so I hope quality control maintains here. Also service was great. The kind lady at the register gave my friend a little sample of the sauce since he never had it before. She was very friendly and didn't hesitate to inform us of our options. I ordered the king combo which came with a bunch of side dishes and everything was delicious. My partner ordered the tteokbokki and you can add stuff into it like ramen and eggs. That was really good too and not too spicy depending on which spice level you choose. We brought home the leftovers . The next day, katsu was still good. Located at the food hall, and though we tried more of the snack items here, the tonkatsu and other dishes' portion sizes looked huge. A table next to ours got a lot from this place, and wow, what a feast. Unfortunately the table barely finished any of it, so I wasn't sure if it's cause it was wayyyyy too much for them or if they just didn't enjoy it. Anyways, we tried their kimkap, fried kimbap, and the potato tordado thingy. The kimbap were mini ones and had the veggies inside. It all tasted rather standard, but no seasoning whatsoever. Pretty bland in my opinion. It wasn't really a hit with our party. Most of us enjoyed the fried ones though, but I thought it was ok. Def needed that sauce. We were all rather disappointed with the tornado potato / spiral potato side. No flavor, needed to drown it in ketchup lol. I tried one at an all you can eat spot couple days prior and that one was mid, and this was worse than that. Love the concept though. The timing was a bit off too as the other spots we ordered from this food hall, the food came out rather quickly, but this one's took a while and at pretty different times. I tried the King Combo Tonkatsu, and wow--the portion was huge, the pork cutlet was super tender, and it came with mini kimbap and udon on the side. Such a satisfying combo! For sauces, I ordered both the regular and the spicy on the side. While the spicy had a nice kick, the regular sauce stole the show for me--perfectly balanced and flavorful. Don't sleep on their other menu items either. The Spam Tamago Kimbap was surprisingly addicting, and their new Bulgogi Tteokbokki was absolutely delicious--sweet, savory, and with that perfect chewy rice cake texture. Pretty great deal for what you get since the portions are humongous. I've had the tteokbokki in the past and I would've been satisfied at that but my bf has been craving about the the katsu solely because of how big it is (it's probably bigger than your face). I will say the meat is not tender since they have to flatten it so much to make it that size so it's not the greatest quality of food but it will fill you up. Especially that they give some veggie sides, salad, and some potato butter soup. We got our sauces on the side since I'm not a fan of soggy katsu and it was perfection. Spicy king katsu: 9/10 the sauce was definitely spicy and a bit tangy. Not the classic tteokbokki sauce but still a good kick to it Rose king katsu: 9/10 the sauce was creamy and slightly more on the sweeter side. If I were to eat only this I think I would get sick of it because of how creamy it was. But alternating with the sauce from the spicy king katsu was a great palate cleanser read more

My coworker had a craving for Tteokbokki so I remembered seeing this place. The service is always really fast and although I had never previously tried their Tteokbokki I heard great things from this place. The food hall has quite a bit of seating, but it looks like it could fill up during peak hours. The staff brought our food out quickly. We ordered the Mini Kimbap, Namsan Tteokbokki, and Japchae Dumpling (5 pcs). The kimbap was my favorite, and I'd definitely order it again. The tteokbokki was flavorful, and we got level one spice. Namsan Tontaksu had on radar cause it in the same food court as curry-ya and smile Shota. I looked over the menu besides Japanese curry the udon noodle dishes stood out for me. My first visit asked lady explain menu cause little confusing I think and ask her recommendations. She was awesome and definitely five stars service. She told me most popular dish was the Rose tteokbokki. Later realize very traditional dish. I never heard of it. I was excited to try something new. Amazing. The portion is huge in nice size bowl. Hearty. OMG. The udon noodles are beautiful. It shaped like penne pasta. Fish balls, Asian sausage (think Chinese sausage), and hard boil egg. Carrots and lot going on. This place is located inside of Cheongdam food hall and it is amazing! The portions are big and the prices are fair and low. The rose pasta was creamy and for only $12 you get 2 sausages, bacon, and 2 pieces of shrimp tempura. The katsu portion is huge and the sauce was and interesting sweet but creamy flavor. There was plenty of seating inside of the food hall and the workers were super nice and I saw them constantly cleaning tables and helping people put their trays away. We were up in this area and with a few other folks who wanted to eat some tonkatsu. Wanted to keep it casual and not make our way back to spring mountain so found this place in the food hall thats a relatively new addition to the vegas eating scene.  This joint has a shared parking lot for all of the eateries and the menus can be brightly seen in the food hall.  The menu is pretty simple. Different type of "King Katsu" options. ddukbokki, and a few different other side items like kimbap and tempuras, etc. The value is very good for the tonkatsu itself as it provides cabbage salad, cream soup, the korean sauce for korean katsu and rice. The portions are truly " huge" and "king like". This brings a lot of nostalgia for me from my eats in Korea and i think it does a good job for delivering on that experience. It was not overly oily which i appreciate.Just to be clear this is not japanese tonkatsu so you will not get the same sauce and the sauce is a sweeter "Gravy like" sauce.  Think this place is solid and offers great value for a nostalgic experience. Namsan Tonkatsu is one of the newest restaurant locations to open up in Cheongdom Food Hall. It's been about 7 months since I last visited Cheongdom and it has a variety of new restaurants. Namsan Tonkatsu is a Korean restaurant that offers a variety of Tteokbokki, Katsu, noodles and Kimbap. My husband and I ended up splitting a King Combo which included Pork Katsu, Cold Spicy Noodle, Soup, Kkoma Gimbap, and Shrimp Tempura for $18.95. After placing the order at the register, we took our order number and found a table for 8 inside Cheongdom Food Hall. We waited about 15 minutes for the order to arrive at our table. The Pork Katsu was good! We had to ask for a knife though in order to cut the pork katsu. The breading was perfect! It was a thin layer of fried breading on the pork. There was so much gravy on top of the Pork Katsu! It was delicious! The gravy was sweet! The cold spicy noodle was good too. It tasted like a spicy Japchae! The Kkoma Gimbap and the Shrimp Tempura was scrumptious! If we stop by Namsan Tonkatsu again, we'll have to try out their Tteokbokki! read more
