We actually love eating at food courts because it works perfectly with our picky eaters -- everyone can find something they want, there's plenty of seating, and meals usually come out fast. The food court has plenty of seating and good music. Menu offers a nice selection of noodles including combo, entrees for chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, and veggies, fried rice, and chow mein. Noodle with Black Bean Sauce ($10.95) is very filling and delicious! They give a generous bowl of thick noodles topped with black bean sauce, onions, and meat, served with a side of fresh kimchi and danmuji (yellow pickled radish), it's really good! Fried Dumpling ($7.95) is crispy and tasty! The filling has yummy rice noodles with veggies, served with dumpling sauce. After dine-in, they have a station setup to return dishes and tray. Scam shop. Pay close attention to what they charge you for versus what you receive. I ordered the half and half jajang and spicy seafood noodle combo. Said it was for Togo. The owner happily charged me $14.95 for it. Then when I went to grab my bag, it felt really light. I opened it up and only saw jajang noodles, no seafood noodles in sight. I told the owner that he got my order wrong. And this is the conversation that was had: Owner: oh we can't do spicy seafood noodle Togo, so I only gave you jajang. Me: .... So you charged me $14.95 for only jajang which you have listed for $10.95? Owner: ... Me: I told you it was for Togo. Why wouldn't you tell me then? And knowing that, why would you still charge me $14.95? $16.20 with tax. Owner: ... Me: you need to give me $4 back for the difference. It's been a while since I've written a review and usually only post menu photos but this place definitely deserves a shout out. We're from Southern California so we are used to having good Korean-Chinese food and this place is excellent... especially for being located in a food court. Since there were four of us we decided to order four dishes. The portions were so big we ended up having leftovers. #41 - Combination Fried Rice was a hit. The rice was flavorful and perfectly cooked (i.e. not mushy or dry). Everyone loved the shrimp and the beef with the egg done just right. #19 - Spicy Seafood Noodle + Hot Pepper Fried Chicken was much larger than expected. The soup was a full size bowl with plenty of shrimp and seafood. I really liked the black mushrooms while two others enjoyed the noodles. All of us thought the broth was delicious and not too spicy. The sauce for the chicken was a wonderful surprise. Three of us were fighting over the last piece. #16 - Noodle w/Black Bean Sauce + Sweet & Sour Pork also had a full size bowl. ProTip: make sure to stir this up well so the sauce coats all of the noodles. We finished these noodles since they were tasty and for me just past al dente which is the way I like them. Another ProTip: if you like to keep the fried pork crispy then get the sauce on the side (see photo). This also allows you to control the amout of sauce which for some in our group likes a dab while others were practically dunking it. Either way, the sauce was a great blend of not too sweet and not too sour, just right. It also had all of good pickled vegetables and even mushrooms. #31 - Seafood Delicacies Stir-Fry definitely lived up to its name and was probably more seafood than vegetables. The shrimp were big and perfectly cooked (not rubbery like some places). There was mussels, squid, and fish which went well with the bok choy and bamboo shoots. That said, it was worth to try once but we don't think we would order this one again since it wasn't as good as the others and it was the most expensive dish on their menu. The workers were friendly and smiled even though they were swamped with phone orders. Hong Lou was so tasty that the four of us agreed to come back the next time we were in Vegas. My wife and I stopped in to try their jjajangmyun and their sweet and sour chicken combo...the jjajangmyun sauce doesn't have enough oils to stick to the noodles and as a result, you get a separation in noodle and sauce. One of the worst jjajangmyun ever. As for the sweet and sour chicken, the batter was not twice fried and as a result, the batter was soggy and all the sauce was on the bottom as it looked like they just poured the sauce over the fried chicken. I grew up with Korean Chinese cuisine and as someone who really enjoys all ranges of Korean Chinese food from Jjajangmyun to palbochae, I'd say Hong Lou is the best in Vegas. From its looks, Hong Lou does not quite seem to represent what a really good restaurant should look like. But the food they serve are nothing but full of surprises. I usually get the stir-fried jjajangmyun and sweet and sour pork combo and this is something I'd definitely recommend. Jjampong is also very good if you're into spicy noodles with generous portion of seafood. This is a typical mom and pop joint where the owners are always very friendly and accommodating. I hesitated to order from this place because of all the mixed reviews, but I still decided to give this place a try to get my own perspective on it. The food itself was better than expected. I got the combo that came with half spicy seafood and black bean noodle that came with a side of kimchi, diced onions and yellow radish. I'm all about the details and I appreciated getting the variety in side dishes. The spicy seafood soup was satisfying, rich in flavor and the portions were good. Overall, a solid B. The black bean noodle was more bland than I liked- wish it had more spice to it, but the spicy seafood soup was really good. My husband ordered the shrimp fried rice which he liked but I didn't think it tasted authentic nor was it to my taste but portion seemed decent as well. I personally never expect good service when it comes to Asian restaurants and this wasn't any different. The guy taking the order at the counter never smiled or even said thank you regardless of the numerous times I thanked him. Expected? Yes. Did I hope for a more pleasant interaction? For sure. This is a fairly new fast food-like joint located inside a tiny food court with just a few other Asian eateries. I was having a hankering for jajangmyeon, which I absolutely love, so what better place while in Las Vegas than Korea Town Plaza, right? Well, maybe, but not so much Hong Lou. I tried the combination special of half jajangmyeon and half spicy seafood soup noodles. I have no idea whether the noodles are actually made on the premises or not, but they claim to make it there when I inquired into this. The noodles were very uniformed in size, so it was probably machine made, if it was made on site. The half of the spicy seafood soup noodles were ok, with a good amount of seafood, given that it was only 50 percent of the whole "bowl". In addition, I found the seafood soup quite flavorful, and perfectly mildly spicy. The other half of the jajangmyeon, however, was another story. Firstly, I reiterated my request to the cashier that I wanted the black bean sauce served separately, on the side. She readily agreed, and when I got it, lo and behold, the sauce was served on top of the noodles. Unfortunately, I didn't care for their flavorless sauce at all, and now a bunch of it was smothered all over the noodles. Bad, all the way around. I come occasionally to the Korean supermarket, Greenland, which this food court is attached to, but won't be stopping by Hong Lou again. After debating to have pho for dinner or burgers for dinner, I decided that we should not do either and go straight for some jjajangmyeon. Came here with my husband and my brother after reading about Hong Lou on Yelp. I've been craving some jjajangmyeon from my favorite restaurant but it's in LA so ... I just need to find a Vegas alternative! This is located in the Greenland food court right next to Tofu House towards the back. We ordered one of their combos with jjajangmyeon (black bean sauce with noodles) and tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), an order of their spicy jjajangmeyon in extra spicy, and a green onion pancake. I was so surprised that they have spicy jjajangmeyon! Most places don't have it. It was a huge portion too! And it was really tasty. They used peppers to make it spicy and it wasn't too spicy. It was the perfect amount of spice where it gave it good flavor but it won't leave your mouth burning. Their regular jjajangmyeon, however, was a bit on the bland side. It lacked flavor. The green onion pancake was good but it was a bit on the doughy side so it was thicker. Their tangsuyuk was delicious! It was fresh and crispy. I like how they always serve it with the sauce on the side so I could just dip the pork in and that keeps their crispy texture when you eat. Granted, you can always pour the sauce on top if that is your thing. I am DEFINITELY coming back for their spicy jjajangmyeon and their tangsuyuk. I love stopping by here every time I go shopping at Greenland Market. I'll stop in, eat lunch and then off to shopping I go! The food is amazing. Very let down by this place. I've eaten in the food court at Greenland market multiple times and the food quality has been great but not at this establishment. I ordered the #3 spicy seafood combo with noddles in black bean sauce and an order of dumplings. The seafood combo (which is an interesting overly generous term for what I was served) consisted of 1 shrimp, 1 mussel, and 5 pieces of squid that were maybe an inch in length. The spicy sauce was pretty much devoid of flavor, besides spice, and the dish was pretty much just noodles swimming in spicy liquid. The black bean noodles were a little better but still very bland overall. The pork dumplings had decent flavor but when I bit one in half and looked at the contents I was surprised to see that the filling was mostly just ground noodles with a very minimal amount of meat. I asked for extra BanChan and received one little plastic cup with some kimchi in it. I don't know if this was due to the language barrier or just the obvious frugality of the restaurant owner I would not eat here again, there are better options in the food court that offer far superior food and customer service read more

Hong Lou is located deep in the food court next to Greenland Marketplace. There is plenty of parking outside and tables in the food court itself, so I always find parking and usually have a table to sit at. I've gone here a few times in the past and I enjoyed what I've eaten. I've gotten a few different combos of fried rice and it's always been good. The shrimps are even cleaned of the poop for the times I've had fried rice with shrimp in it, which always bodes well. I also tried their orange chicken which wasn't the best orange chicken I've ever had, but it was still pretty tasty. Their noodles with black bean sauce was the bomb. I could inhale it with no problems. In fact, I had to tell myself to slow down so I wouldn't do just that. If Hong Lou isn't busy, they get your food out pretty quickly. If you go during a rush, then it may take awhile. I waited 10 minutes during a rush just staring at what I suspected was my food sitting on the counter without the people behind the counter calling out the order or even beeping the device I was handed. I finally just went up there to confirm it was mine. It was, and they messed up the order, but I was done waiting. The food was good after I warmed it up, but you know, go when there's not a rush. read more

A few notes: 1) was given only 2 options, for mild and very spicy, and went with latter. I wouldn't consider it very spicy, but it hit the spot. Some of those fire noodle places go overboard with spiciness, and not even all that tasty. 2) the dish didn't skimp on shrimp, mussels, squid. 3) the rice was served in a styrofoam dish, which was probably the least satisfying point of the order. I just plopped it into the soup and at from there. 4) the clear noodles in the dish was a nice added touch, but it wasn't all that easy to eat with the plastic fork. opted to just put it into the styrofoam bowl and eat it separately. Every so often I make the drive from Boulder City to Greenland. During my trips I stop by the food court and order a meal from another establishment and stop at Hong Lou for Fried Mandoo. Unfortunately, yesterday's visit to Hong Lou will be my absolute last. And not because the Mandoo is bad, it is very good, it is because of the male owner. He is horrible!!! While ordering he overcharged me, and said that's the charge. When my order was ready, I went to pick it up and asked for an empty container (the one that holds the sauce) and he slammed a lid on my tray, and I told him I wanted a container not a lid. He shouted "WHY!?" I was shocked. As I was holding the vinegar bottle, I told him because I wanted a side of vinegar. And he yelled at me that it was already in the sauce, the sauce that tastes like straight soy sauce. He finally turned around a flew the container at me. Literally flew it at me. I was so upset I couldn't eat my meal. I don't know if it's because I'm not Korean but I will never again patronize this establishment! read more

Restaurant quality in a food court! The fried chicken and chambong was as good as any I've had in Korea. Really enjoyed the flavor and the quality of the seafood was noticeable. My son ordered the jajangmyun and he really liked it as well. (His mom is a Korean chef so he's kind of picky when it comes to food). The only area for improvement: the kimchi left a lot to be desired and was noticeably second rate. (Sorry! Just being honest! Good kimchi is important!).
