Came here to check out this one item that was trending on TikTok. The Korean pork belly bowl was good. The negative was the customer service, the cashier had no personality and bad attitude when we asked for an additional pork chopsticks and spoon. Just because of this, I would not come back! Restaurant is located inside the Haven Street market.

I've been coming to Haven City Marketplace for lunch and decided to give this spot a try. I ordered the kimchi chicken bowl. The food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. The first thing I noticed was the small amount of chicken meat in the center of the bowl. It looks like a good portion but thats from the positioning and presentation. The amount of veggies were also pretty lacking as compared to the advertised pictures they had on screen. Taste wise, the food was alright. There wasn't much chicken and sides in comparison to the amount of rice they give. Overall, the food was average and not worth it. I was expecting more meat and veggies, not 70% rice. They were also relatively expensive for a bowl especially compared to the neighboring chinese stalls. Can't say I would recommend this over anywhere else.

I had a good experience at Kaidon (West Covina). I ordered the Grilled Sirloin Steak Bowl ($23.99). It includes juicy sirloin steak, crispy fried enoki mushrooms, fresh kimchi, kale, seaweed, and clean steamed rice. This meal arrived picturesque and filling. (Quick Note: Cash is not accepted. Bring card or contactless payment. In addition, this business uses a shady gimmick where they offer FREE drinks for 5 Star Reviews. I will attach a photo of this sketchy gimmick. I HATE it. This business needs more confidence in their abilities.) I arrived at Kaidon (West Covina) on Monday (around 6:49PM). Parking is competitive this late weekday, but I quickly found a spot since the lot is big. Staff (receipt says Ken) is professional and hardworking. Ken answered all my questions; Ken worked nonstop; and Ken was very welcoming. After ordering, Ken gave me an electronic pager that would buzz when my meal was ready. My food took 17 minutes and 12 seconds. As mentioned, I ordered the Grilled Sirloin Steak Bowl ($23.99). It's enjoyable. The steak is thick and juicy. And the steamed rice is fresh and clean. However, its aftertaste of kimchi and kale might dissuade some customers. Still, I found joy in this well-prepared bowl. The crunchy enoki mushrooms also reminded me of a crisp vegetable tempura. Concerning ambiance, Kaidon (West Covina) is a food stall in the popular Haven City Market. The location is very clean with plentiful seating. Also, I enjoy the upbeat music and many flat screen TVs that play the basketball game. It's a comfortable spot. Overall, I had a good experience at Kaidon (West Covina). Bad gimmick aside, this location has genuine promise. The food is filling & good quality; the staff is friendly; and I left happy & satisfied. If curious, I recommend. 4.4 out of 5

This place is located inside Haven City. I'm not entirely sure if the bowl is meant to be Japanese or Korean style, but I wouldn't expect kimchi and fried potato slices (it was supposed to be fried enoki mushroom) at a Japanese spot. The biggest downside for me was the meat. I wish they had asked how well-done we wanted it, and it would have been much better if it were served hot instead of lukewarm. The portions also felt a bit small. We ordered the 10 oz premium grilled sirloin steak bowl, but it felt more like 6-7 oz, which didn't match what was advertised. Overall, it was okay, but it definitely didn't taste very Japanese. I probably wouldn't return for a second visit.

Legendary and sirloin steak, Japanese fried chicken on the left

Absolutely delicious! Been wanting to try this spot, and I'm so glad I did! Came here on a Wednesday and the whole plaza was empty. Perfect day to have the whole place to myself. Ordered the legendary and the top sirloin. The bowls were delicious! Loved the enoki mushrooms and the kimchi was perfect to cut through the fattyness. Husband and I finished the whole bowl. We also ordered the Japanese fried chicken. That was meh, wasn't the best, wast the worst. They should give you a wedge of lemon to add some zest to the chicken but they didn't. It took about 15 minutes for my food, they say quality food takes time. Service: you order from a kiosk, so no service really. On a weekday, there is plenty of seating, the area is well lit, and plenty of other food options to try. Parking: on a Wednesday afternoon empty, on a weekend, good luck. Would definitely be back if in craving this again.

I got the "Legendary" Yakiniku Mountain Bowl and it was delicious. Really enjoyed the flavors and combination of ingredients. I've never had tempura enoki mushrooms and I especially liked those. Also nice that the kale was crispy.

028/2026/Jan Love to come here atvthe Haven City Market to try the different vendors! Kai don was a new restaurant I haven't eaten . Very appealing presentation of the belly pork dish that was served on top of the rice with sides of kimchi , fried enoki mushrooms and a seaweed sheet!! Ordered the guava smoothie and very refreshing!! Very friendly staff ! Will surely ho visit again to try other dishes on the menu!!

Grilled Sirloin Steak Bowl and Karaage Combo

Pretty yummy spot in Haven City Market in West Covina. I went on my lunch break and was super impressed by this spot. I ordered the #1 and got the Karaage combo with the mango slushee. The don took 15-20 min to make, but was worth the wait. The chicken was a little oily, but freshly fried, so not too bad. The sauce is very yummy, typical spicy mayo sauce. The don itself had a lot of meet and I loved all the stuff that came with it, like the fried enoki mushroom, the seaweed, the fried kale, and the kimchi (but they only gave a little bit of kimchi so left me wanting more). The sauce on the don was good too, there's a teriyaki like sauce and a wasabi-like/horseradish type of sauce that you could serve yourself on the side, and I got both and was super happy with it. All and all, it's a good spot with good food that's of good quality. Seating is "cafeteria-style" so you may sit with strangers if you don't have a full table, which I didn't mind. It did take a little while to get the food so if you only have a 30-min window for lunch, I don't recommend it, as it could be too much of a time crunch, but all and all I liked it.

Oh wow looks fancy, taste not so dandy.

This place is all about looks, not the taste. It was $20 something for the "LEGENDARY" yakiniku mountain bowl. More like a mountain of rice hidden underneath with so much oil that a country we know would seek it out. It is not as it's pictures, they sold you on the aesthetics. I bought, my mistake. I wouldn't do it again. The beef itself taste pretty good, but it's so greasy that I can't get over it. I eat more rice to cover the taste, just to find more grease at the bottom of the bowl. The fried enoki mushroom is a farce; all the looks with no taste, because it is fried to smithereens. The kimchi doesn't match the vibe of the bowl. I don't get the dehydrated kale, what are they doing in the bowl? The dried unflavored leaves takes away from any flavor it had left. Pretending to look healthy? Too expensive for the portion, too greasy for my emotion. They need a new kitchen staff. This isn't Japanese food lmao.

Located at Haven City Food Hall! I ordered the Legendary Yakiniku Mountain Bowl ($18.99). It was so delicious and a hefty serving. The bowl had fried enoki/kale, seaweed, beef, rice, and kimchi. Over everything about it, would love to come back the next time I am in the area They have different sauces on the side counter, try them all! They also have self-order on kiosks and then you receive a buzzer for when your order is ready!

Kaidon is located inside the Haven City Market. Here they make Japanese Yakiniku style bowls and other items to go with as a side. Their presentation of food is really nice here and it really grabs your attention. I ordered their Yakiniku Mountain Bowl and it was good. It's not how I would remember it made in Japan but good for American standards as it comes with rice, nori, and mushroom tempura (which was honestly my favorite part). While it was just good I believe the sauce it was cooked it could be the difference maker but either way I would still eat here again and maybe try a different item out.

Located inside the West Covina Haven City Market. Customers order via kiosk. I got the #2 grilled pork bowl and the #3 for my brother. I got a Korean pork belly combo bowl ($17.99) which came with a side of karaage and a smoothie ($8.99). The portion was a good size and it came piled with kimchi, fried enoki mushrooms, seaweed sheets, and crispy fried kale on white rice. The smoothie was super sweet, the wait time was not long and the staff is nice.

Ordered the Korean bbq pork belly mountain ... the pork belly was full of flavor and really good portion. The kimchi delicious and the rice was really good as well. Food is A+. Service was quick. I did ask for it for here but received it in a to go container. Good food option at haven city. Parking is always hard but ambiance is friendly and good vibes.

Not very friendly and not really acknowledging the people that were standing waiting to be seated. Finally got a table, gave us menus and then 15 minutes go by and they haven't taken our order for drinks. As I look around there were 4 tables that had been seated, as well and no drink orders. We all waited about the same amount of time to get our drink orders. This unfortunately is why i took off 2 stars. To me, this unacceptable. After being seated and food came out, no one checked in until I needed a box and to pay. Did not feel welcomed and /or appreciated that I was supporting a small local business. Food- Brisket without the BBQ didn't have enough flavor. These types of meat don't need a hype man- the BBQ sauce. They need to be good on their own. Buuut Meat was tender. I read that their sausage is not great it's quite dry so I skipped it, my son had ordered ribs so I was going to steal from him, so I decided to get chicken- dark meat options. Chicken was very tasty, juicy and tender. It was the star of the dinner plate!!! Whaat!!! Their coleslaw- loved how everything was chopped nice and consistent- loved the Julienned green apples- again missing seasoning. DINNER ROLLS- Soooo fucken dry and not warmed up. I expect that level of hardness on my rolls when they are about to expire. Warm them up put them in a basket and give me butter. Such a small - perhaps minute action- but it was a huge miss. Other patrons were also commenting how bad the rolls were. We even joked, "death by dinner roll! " LOL. Cornbread- small portion but packed with flavor. I would say ease up on the Honey. I want to taste the corn bread too. It's unfortunate, I didn't have the experience others have had. Most likely not going to add it to my new restaurant rotation. There are other better options with better customer service.
