    Salty soy milk
    Samuel C.

A very good place for breakfast. The sweet and salty soy milk is made fresh. I recommend the salty soy milk. Its savory and vinegary, a good way to start the morning. The scallion pancakes are also good. The sweet rice roll is only available on the weekend but definitely worth a try. Service was good.

Another night of great food and service. The family set price went up to $52 for 3 dishes and soup. Addl dishes @ $17 each. No complaints. For 12 people, the tab was $205.

Ordered a family meal dinner from here. Came with 3 choices and soup and rice. Even though the portions looked small it was enough for us. The scallion beef was very tender. The peking pork had a nice flavor but there was a lot of bones. The scallion pancake was okay. It was a little soggy not crispy enough for me. The pig intestines was okay. Not the best i have ever had.

Great food. Never had a bad meal here. Service was fast. We decided to do the 3 dish for $49. Pig knuckle, three cup chicken, pork w dry bean curd and celery, and scallion pancakes. The soup at the beginning of 5e meal was very tasty.

This place has been around for ages. I remember coming here with my friends from junior high school and it's just like how I remember it - no frills and simply delicious. We like that their Taiwanese breakfast is available until 3pm on the weekends. Another plus is they have a great assortment of cold appetizers and snacks. The salty tofu pudding and salty sticky rice roll are my staples. We tried the stir fried noodle with beef and pepper and really enjoyed the heat and flavors. The pork roll has crispy bean curd on the outside with a succulent minced pork filling inside. Great place for authentic Taiwanese classics.

We went for the weekend breakfast and was not disappointed. Food came quickly and was served hot.

This place is pretty amazing- located on a street with other stores, it had the most customers at an early time frame. I expected to pick u a harmless piece of onion next to my porkchop and had no idea how scorching hot (Ay Eff) it was! Absolutely legit on that wok fire business! Blazing! All the foods came out hot so hats off to the chefs who are in front of the firing piece of metal ALL day! Support your local businesses!!!

Great local Taiwanese restaurant. The fried stinky tofu is a must try. They make it very soft and flavorful. Also the 3cup chicken is also very good.

I can't speak about the service or ambiance because my boyfriend brought this order to-go, but the food was great. The Deep Fried Cruller is the perfect combination of chewy and crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. It wasn't too oily. I was told they made the order fresh on the spot. The Green Onion Sou Bing was soft, great when sandwiching a Deep Fried Cruller. The Beef Stew Noodle Soup had my ideal thickness in noodles. Because the order was taken to-go, the noodles were a soggy and soft, but I bet that wouldn't have been the case if we'd eaten it in the store. The soup is a little bit spicy, not overly spicy. Most cuts of the meat were tender, and they were generous with the meat. Only 1-2 chunks of meat were a bit tough. The Green Onion Pancake Rolled with Beef had the perfect cuts of beef, and the pancake wasn't too oily either.

So the food is 5/5 but I have to take off 1 star just because of how cold/poor A/C is in this restaurant! I am used to my fair share of dingy Chinese restaurants, but if we are in a table at the far back of the restaurant and STILL cold it's too damn cold lol. I can't imagine what it's like during the summer, probably sweltering hot with no A/C. Aside from that, the food came out quickly and they were attentive at refilling the complementary tea. The food itself is excellent, the youtiao (fried Chinese dough sticks) are some of the largest I've ever seen! And the flaky pastries were some of the best I've had. The jiucaibao were excellent. We had both salty and sweet soybean soup, and both were excellent, although I am always partial to salty. Fantuan was ok but I've had better in Taiwan and elsewhere. I tried the stinky tofu and cannot eat it (lol had to spit it out) but the family I was eating with who did like stinky tofu said it was really good.

The food is always delicious here. This time I found out they have the traditional hot pot style food that I haven't try before. It's perfect for winter!

THE best taiwanese food I have had in the US at a restaurant. Everything is cooked so well and comes out super fast. The family style dishes and sets are highly recommended. The owners are super friendly and parking is easy to find.

The good- plenty of meat in Lou Rou Fan, the texture of stinky tofu, the no tipping but bus your own tray business model. Friendliness of staff behind the ordering counter. Will probably revisit another time to see how other dishes taste and see what price point it will result in.

It's before Yelp and even before internet time). I could not imagine I can have this noodle in Bayside now. Comparing to the famous beef noodles I had, this is pretty good but still a way to go. Let's start with the noodle. It is al dente and carry the soup really well. The braised beef made well too. The tenderness is just fine. However, I missed the big piece of meat instead of bite size chopped cube. It is easy to eat but could be more satisfying. The Shanghainese Pok Choy is a must in order to complete this dish authentically. However, it's overly chopped. I missed the couple halved Shanghainese Pok Choy placed nicely on the side. For the soup, the fave is fine and the balance of the sour and savory is just to the point. However, I wish I could have more pickled veggie that added more sourness to the soup. It would be much better to place a container of pickled veggie on each table for the customer to add it freely. That would be perfect. This place is cozy, clean and neat. Thanks for the ambiance. Menu is very limited with the protein options though with a few choices of noodles (spicy, ramen, or soup versions). They also carry poke bowls which I have yet to try. I did enjoy my beef over rice very much. Thin slices of beef, super tender and delicious. The sauce was on the sweeter side which was drizzled onto the beef as an au jus. And it came with half an egg, pickled radishes and broccoli. Another dish I enjoyed was the fish and cabbage hot pot. That was served with a bowl of rice. No noodles. Even with the spice level at "one pepper" rating, it was too much of a kick for me. But those that like spicy will enjoy it just fine. The fish pieces it came with were generous sized portions and this bowl was loaded with vegetables. Wood ear, mushrooms, cabbage, sliced white radish, and bean curd skin. It also has a few slices of spam (which I did order extra so I'm not sure if the normal is two slices). We also tried the pan fried pork gyoza which was perfectly fried on each side. Nice color. Taiwanese pork as a side comes with one pc per order. The fried chicken appetizer could use a little more spices but the chicken was so tender and very juicy. I liked it a lot. It does come with a dipping sauce which helps but I didn't use it much. All in all a good spot for take out but the menu will need to be expanded in order to have longevity. Sadly it didn't look busy each time I came to pick up. Staff is attentive and friendly.

The black bean noodles had good flavor, although I thought the sauce was a little thin and didn't cling to the noodles as well as I would have liked. The spicy seafood noodle soup looked fiery, but the spice level was surprisingly smooth and well-balanced. It had plenty of flavor without being overwhelmingly hot. The sweet and sour pork was served fresh, hot, and crispy. I especially enjoyed the crunchy coating. Whenever I come across Taiwanese beef noodle soup, I usually have to try it. Overall, it was pretty good, the broth was tasty and the meat was tender. They offer both beef and beef tendon noodle soup, which I always appreciate since not every place does. However, when my mother requested just beef tendon due to dental issues, we were told it couldn't be accommodated because the meat is pre-portioned. That was a bit surprising for such a small establishment, as I would have assumed it was ladled from a larger pot like many similar places. I ended up ordering the same bowl and giving my mom all the tendon while I kept the meat although I'll admit I would have preferred to keep the tendon for myself. My cousin ordered the spicy beef noodle soup, which she really enjoyed. I tried a taste as well, but it wasn't really my preference. The spice had more of a Sichuan-style profile, leaning toward that mala flavor that I don't personally enjoy. Aside from that, the soup was enjoyable, though not the best I've had, but certainly nowhere near the worst either. We also ordered stinky tofu, which unfortunately didn't have quite enough soy sauce (I could have asked for more, but didn't bother) and ended up tasting a bit under-seasoned. It also wasn't as pungent as one would hope. Service was minimal, with one server who I believe may also have been the owner. While everything came out correctly, there wasn't much flexibility with requests, which made the experience feel a bit rigid. Prices were also on the higher side for a small, off-the-beaten-path spot. Overall, it was a decent meal with some good flavors, but a few inconsistencies kept it from being a standout.
