I pass this neighborhood Taiwanese restaurant all the time, but my first time trying it. It is very small, I didn't count, but had about a half dozen tables. We were lucky to get a table right away but it soon became packed. You don't come here for the ambiance, but the service was exceptional. We received complimentary tea, peanuts, and pickled cabbage. My wife and I ordered Fried Salt & Pepper Pork Chops ($14.95 ea.) (Tip - order different items so you can experience different foods on the menu). The food came out right away, and served hot. It consisted of fatty pork chops bits - probably not too healthy but very delicious - with an egg, I think pork belly, broccoli and other veggies over rice. I enjoyed my meal more than my wife, but for me it tasted like savory home cooked cuisine. I give Oodles Noodle a recommended 4 stars.
I forgot to take better pictures but I can assure you, this is the authentic Taiwanese cuisine experience. Popcorn Chicken: the staple of any Taiwanese cuisine and a way to test the authenticity of any Taiwanese restaurant. Now, this restaurant's popcorn chicken has different breading than your usual Taiwanese restaurant and is what makes it 11/10, but it's a 10/10 instead because there was no fried basil Stinky Tofu: this won't be for everyone, but for someone who grew up in Taiwan, that distinct stink and subtle fermented pungent taste with the sweet and slightly sour sauce is what brings a sense of nostalgia. We ordered more like the clam pancake (I don't know what it's called in English), and it smelled exactly like the night market of Taiwan , I felt like back home again. 10/10
First time dining in the restaurant. Very friendly service and atmosphere. They've always been so patient and nice when I asked about all the allergies. I've ordered takeout from this place so many times and it's a staple of Bayside. I love both the soup noodles, all the fried items and all the rice dishes. Portion is really generous as well.
This local mom and pop shop really makes quality Taiwanese dishes! It's the basics but done well for a great value. For the price, you get a decent amount that's so filling and flavorful. The food is not too salty. It's delicious while still balanced with nutrition with great amount of protein and vegetables. If you'd like to dine in, it's quite small and the largest group to dine in would be a group of 4. I've done takeout multiple times and the presentation in the container is great. I love that there's little side dishes too aka the pickled cabbage and roasted peanuts. The peanuts are seasoned with more than just salt. It tastes like it's roasted and toasted in house. The braised cucumbers are garlicky with a little spice kick as well. Very fresh and crunchy. This is my new go to spot for takeout on lazy cold night. I'd definitely return to try the soup noodles next time.
Keepin it real out here in Bayside This spot is next to one of my fave chicken spot, which makes me want to visit this street way more often than i should. Really fire Taiwanese food, cozy spot, just solid experience overall. Parking can be tough depending on time of day, other than that, can't go wrong!
This was my second time ordering take out from here. There's only a few tables for dining in so we ordered to go. You can order on the kiosk. Everything was well packaged and labeled. The food came out fast. The food is amazing. So authentic and flavorful. Portions are good. They gave some roasted peanuts and pickled peppercorn cabbage on the side which tasted yummy with the food. My husband enjoyed the pork chop over rice with some leftovers for lunch the next day. My kids enjoyed the popcorn chicken and sweet potato fries. Definitely will be back to try more!
I'm glad the sign outside caught my eye! This family-owned Taiwanese joint is a real find with a parking area too. Everything was spot on and clean. The food tasted authentic and mama chef was kind enough to greet us. The lunch special included a drink, making it a great deal. Plus, complimentary snacks were a bonus! Definitely bookmark this place and give it a try!
No frills Taiwanese food that hits the spot! I got the pork chop rice and the pork chop was HUGE! There were two pieces that were breaded and fried to perfection. It also came with a side of veggies / pickled and that was a great complement to the dish. I would def come back for Taiwanese pork chop rice if I'm craving it again. They also have popcorn chicken over rice which looked just as good - so will have to give that a try next time. The service was great and it's more of a fast casual spot than a sit down spot but they'll give you plates and forks / knives if you choose to dine in. You can order on the kiosk
I can't believe it took me this long to try this place. This used to be the Korean taco/burger joint. It was a chilly and windy day, which means I'm in the mood for hearty noodles soup. Decided on this place because of the tomatoes beef brisket noodles. My whole family enjoyed the food. We ordered 2 tomato beef brisket noodles soup and the popcorn chicken rice. Everything was so good and fresh. The presentation was also very pretty with different colors of the vegetables. The beef brisket was tender, flavorful and thick. They did not skim on the portions. My kids loved the popcorn chicken rice. It was actually one of the best popcorn chicken I've ever had. There are a few tables and also counter seating. You can order from the cashier or kiosk. I like to order from the kiosk so I can see pictures. There's a water station where you can get your own water. Overall very clean place.
Literally so happy I could cry because we've finally found a promising beef noodle soup spot!! My fiance and I have been on search for a new go to Taiwanese spot for the longest time. Ooodles Noodles is a bit unassuming from both the outside & inside, and a self service kiosk is available for both dine in & take out. There's a fairly large menu, but we were both set on the beef noodle soup. Water is self service, and not long after we sat down at one of the few tables, we were served our orders. The broth here has DEPTH - some may say it's a bit on the saltier and greasier side, but it has FLAVOR. We've run into so many watery broths that this was much preferred. The noodle texture is also fantastic. There's enough of a chew initially, and then it softens up over time as it soaks up the broth. Mustard greens and veggies are also added in, and the beef is SO tender. One things for sure - for about $15, these portions were generous. No public restroom available since this is a smaller restaurant with limited seating. There is a parking lot out front but it's always chaotic because of chicken lovers. Cash & card are both accepted.

Loved the pork chops and popcorn chicken dishes. You can have it with rice or not. The rice version has various condiments and an egg. They also have various soup dishes that are tasty and warming. We enjoyed the beef soup. Go mild if you don't want it too spicy. Taiwanese tea, soy milk are amongst some of the drinks available. If want a small bite, try the bao! Saw a sign with the lunch specials. - gotta go back to try more yummy dishes!!!

My wife and I have been ordering delivery from here for a while now, and it never disappoints! Today, we finally visited in person with our 9-month-old daughter to pick up an order, and the experience was fantastic! If you have ever been to Taiwan, walking in here feels like stepping right back there! It has such cozy vibes that perfectly capture the feeling of early 2000s Taiwanese MVs. We were also able to park right out front, which was super convenient! A huge shout-out to Daniel, who showed us incredible hospitality! Even though the restaurant was full and he was managing the front solo, he handled everything with such grace. He kindly asked a customer if they could offer my wife and our baby a seat, brought us our drinks immediately in case we needed to drink while waiting for the food, and made sure we were completely comfortable while juggling other orders. Thank you, Daniel! As for the food, it's always consistent in the best way possible. We ordered our usuals: the braised pork with rice, the popcorn chicken with rice, and the kumquat lemon drinks. The quality is top-notch, and the portion sizes always leave us feeling full and satisfied! My wife would usually eat half the bowl and save the other half for the next day. FYI: If the restaurant gets busy, there is a kiosk inside where you can order and pay, which makes the whole process very convenient. Highly recommended! read more
Ooodles Noodle House has become my go-to weekend spot for a quick, satisfying meal. I usually order the tomato braised beef noodle soup and the chicken cutlet over rice--both consistently hit the mark. The beef noodle soup is rich and comforting with a deep tomato flavor, and the beef is tender and flavorful. The chicken cutlet is crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and pairs perfectly with the rice. The space is definitely on the smaller side, but service is super quick and efficient, which makes it ideal for a fast bite. This is definitely a place I would try again. Had the pork chops over rice medium spice and it was a boat load of food and tasty as well. Can't wait to try out the other options read more
Parking was a bit tricky because even though there is a parking lot here, it's jam packed. We were lucky to find one spot street parking after someone left. There aren't a lot of tables inside, but there's space to dine in. Pretty quick ordering whether you order from the person at the front, or via the iPad. I ordered the braised beef over rice lunch special which came with the Taiwanese bubble tea. I can't remember if I picked no ice, but I (actually) appreciated that it wasn't that cold since I wasn't feeling too well that day. The braised beef is kinda fatty, so if you're not a fan, it might not be the best idea. Looking forward to come back! read more
The food was edible, but it was super greasy and salty. The beef noodle soup was unfortunately way too salty and oily. See photo- the napkin was soaked in grease. The pork over rice was super fatty and there was only fat, not even a lump of meat. Again, it was nowhere near Taiwanese authentic cuisine, and expensive Chinese takeout at best. To top it off, the drinks were super sweet. The Lemon aiyu jelly drink was just water with sugar and the kumquat lemon green tea did not taste like kumquat. This was really disappointing. read more
Stopped by this adorable small restaurant for a quick bite for lunch and it was delicious! The place is small but very homey. The soy milk was my ideal sweetness and the temperature was perfectly hot. The cucumbers were extremely refreshing and tied together well with the spicier tomato beef noodle soup which was potently tomato flavored. The pork chops were savory and nicely crusted with the perfect amount of juiciness. read more

A nice, small self-service spot with generous portions and tasty food. I ordered the fried pork chop on rice for lunch -- two large, crispy pieces of meat served with a marinated egg, broccoli, and preserved vegetables. Lunch set comes with a drink. Delicious, filling, and great value. read more

The place is pretty cute. It's got a "hole-in-the-wall" vibe with cute decor (small paintings, lofi/bedroom pop music, plants on shelves). The place is more self-serve, with a kiosk to order and a counter where you can order with a cashier. No waiters or anything. The utensils are also provided to you already by a holding container on each table (soup spoons, chopsticks, straws, napkins, etc.). The food itself was delicious. I got the curry chicken and potatoes over noodles. It comes with broccoli and they give you a side of fermented cabbage + carrots and roasted salted peanuts. I snacked on the peanuts while I waited on my food but eating one with a bite of noodles was even better. The fermented cabbage was quite good as well. Not too fermented and very refreshing. I had a really good time sitting and eating something warm and home-y to warm up from being outside. Would recommend, and would love to bring friends back to enjoy. read more

Not every dish makes me smile, but this one did. Big compliment from me. I had the braised beef with a Taiwanese milk tea, and every flavor and aftertaste complemented each other perfectly. The beef was tender and the tea was smooth - together they made a meal I genuinely enjoyed. I liked the music they played too. I'll definitely be happy to come back. read more
Came here due to recommendations from family member for a good Beef noodle soup. This is a small restaurant family run, with 5 to 6 tables, no rest room. They have a lunch menu which it includes a free drink, and regular dinner menu. We ordered Beef noodle soup and from lunch menu salt and pepper pork chop with spice level added. The beef noodle soup broth so rich with beef flavor and the correct type shank beef in soup, the soup and beef one of best had for a long time. The salt and pepper pork chop, it was fried to perfection with a crispy coating and seasoned very well, and vegetables with rice real good. We ordered take-out, beef soup, pork chop, and pork belly, the pork belly was a little flat in seasoning. Give this place 4.5 stars read more

Ooodles Noodles got me going OoOOoOoO the whole time because I am oooBSESSED with the Taiwanese food here. Bayside has its fair share of Taiwanese restaurants - from Chimama's, Nan Bei He, to Mama Lee's and I'd rank Ooodles Noodles on the top of my list. My boyfriend and I went halfsies on the lu rou fan and the beef noodle soup and ordered an extra popcorn chicken on the side and all 3 dishes did not disappoint. I highly recommend eating in rather than opting for takeout. I had a much better experience eating the dishes fresh. Popcorn chicken was piping HOT and I burned my tongue eating it but it was worth it. I do wish they added more 5 spice seasoning but I love how the chef was able to maintain moist and juicy chicken bites. I also thoroughly enjoyed the beef noodle soup - the noodles were so QQ and the broth was rich & comforting while not being too salty. Lastly, the lu rou fan had such a medley of flavors. You have the tender pork belly, the pickled mustard greens, the perfectly soft cooked broccoli, and the sliced red cabbage. One must gather each and every ingredient into one spoonful and eat it in one bite!! It was amazing and I had enough for a second lunch. Basically, if an alien were to come to Bayside and ask me "Hey Vicki, bring me to your favorite Taiwanese restaurant", I'd probably bring them to Ooodles Noodle House! read more
Great place for Taiwanese food. Just note that it doesn't seem to have a bathroom. And there's no table service. You order up front and they bring the food to you. And you bus yourself. The oyster pancake reminded me of Taiwanese street food. The beef and tomato noodle soup was super tasty. The pork chop over rice was crispy and nicely spiced. It even came with a couple greens add some color to the plate. The young lady at the counter was super courteous and delightful. Definitely will have come back very soon. read more

Great Taiwanese food from a fast casual restaurant. The parking lot is kind of small but the food was made very quick! I ordered the salt and pepper pork chops. These were seasoned pop corn chicken style; a very dry outer breadcrumb. I really loved all the sides for the dish like the soy egg, pickled cabbage and peanuts. The ayu jelly drink that came with my lunch special went well with this. Cheers read more
Been waiting for the day to try this place and today was the day. The menu to not overwhelming and a perfect combination of choices. Perfect cold day to try hot beef noodle soup. They make a really good flavorful broth and the noodles were very good. I really enjoyed the salt pepper popcorn chicken. Very tender and juicy little bites. Had to try the braised pork belly over rice, so very good. Tender and perfect. Not salty and just very good flavor. There are still more items on the menu to try. Loved the free peanuts that they offer and I would believe made in house. The place was very clean, small little place with a couple of parking spots in the front. A couple of tables inside and nice and quite. The service was very friendly and in a timely matter. Will be back soon. read more
This just made it to our company list for lunch! Grateful that they deliver to us in Hollis, NY. Ordered their popcorn chicken and porkchop over rice. Definitely got my bang for your buck buck cluck meal ! There isn't anything special about em besides the flavors are on point and the portions aren't cheapened like many other places I've been. Trust me. This world everything is going up and places are cutting back on portions! YOU DON'T TAKE MY FOOD AWAY! I DON'T MIND PAYING ! BUT GIVE US OUR VALUE! GAWD DANG IT! Sorry not yelling at you.
