Mashed potatoes - very creamy, like puree
    Anita L.

Super popular for takeout when I went to pick up the order. The bone-in chicken does in fact take 2 hours - I placed an order online and they called to double check that was alright with me. I also got to try the mashed potatoes that are only available after 4p! We were so hungry that the only photos I have are.. not very photogenic. Hot bone-in chicken - chili oil poured on it with the chili flakes - I didn't find it that spicy to be honest Original chicken - everything seems to come with a sprinkle of parsley, sea salt, and chili flakes - it's very pretty! The original has some sweetness due to honey they drizzle on top. We liked this more than the hot one, but I'm not sure about planning 2 hours in advance to get it when they have so many other great dishes. We also got the roasted broccoli (yum), beets (served cold, yum for me but may not be for everyone), side of mashed potatoes (very creamy and tastes like homemade potatoes), and a side of gravy (herby white gravy). I also added on a side of the flank steak because I was curious and it was delicious (like the chicken, it was topped with sea salt, parsley, and chili flakes) The banana pudding had some butterscotch I think, which went well. It was rich but not too sweet. It's a denser pudding (as opposed to say Magnolia Bakery's banana pudding which is very fluffy), so I couldn't finish it in one sitting. It had a best by date for three days from now. The chocolate chip cookies were the most disappointing, tasted a little chalky. The only other thing I'll say is that everything is aggressively seasoned - I like salty food but this is bordering on too salty. We're excited to go back to try more dishes!

This is the first time for us, My wife and I, to have a dine in at Nan's Kitchen in Westford. We ordered the 3 and 2 (original bone-in 3 pieces of chicken and 2 sides) and a chicken tender (original) and mashed potatoes. The bone-in chicken were 1 drumstick, 1 thigh, and 1 half of a breast (hmm?). It was finished with sea salt, paprika, spring onion, and honey drizzle. It was delicious, the flavor was very good, skin was crispy, and the meat was juicy. My sides were the roast carrot with miso and the sweet potatoe wedges. The sides were okay but the bone-in chicken was excellent. The chicken tender came the same way as the bone-in chicken, sea salt, paprika, spring onion, and honey drizzle. It was okay, part of the issue was the breading on the tenders did not cover the entire pieces so part of the flesh was exposed to the hot cooking oil, causing the tender to be much drier than the bone-in pieces. If they double bread the tender, it may help retain the moisture of the tenders. I would rate Dave's Hot Chicken's tender is better than Nan's. The mashed potatoes was amazing, very creamy and smooth.

11 out of 10 for this new place in Westford! This is the third location for Nan's, but this is the first time we have tried it. We will definitely be back! While order ahead is available we opted to order when we got there. The staff was very friendly and helpful! We both got the farmhouse bowl and tried different options. I could not finish my bowl, it was filled to the brim. The farmhouse bowl comes with a base and three veggies, plus a sauce. I got the harissa faro, which is cooked and served with chicken peas and golden raisins. This was topped with spiced carrots, cauliflower gratin and Brussels sprouts. For my sauce I got the zhoug, which is the best I've had. It is house made and just a little spicy, allowing the flavor of the spices to shine through. My husband's bowl contained the brown rice base which had walnuts and cranberries in it. He also got the Brussel sprouts and cauliflower gratin but opted for the charred broccoli. The other nice thing about Nans is that they offer large cups for the free water, instead of the tiny three oz cups most places provide. The dining area is clean and well lit.

Crispiest chicken sandwich I've ever had, and it still tastes fresh and not too heavy! I will absolutely be coming back

Well...it's expensive...and not quite worth the dough you're paying for it. First off, when we got there, it was dead. I had anticipated a line...a large dining area...long buffet tables...but no, none of the above. They do have an omelet station which is probably the only highlight of the place. Don't misinterpret...the food isn't awful, but sheesh, for $20 a head, you want to see some kickass brunch with hungry diners clambering to get in...but no. Actually, this was two days before St Patrick's Day, so they did have corned beef and cabbage, (Boiled Dinner), on the buffet and that was actually pretty good too. An abnormally large table of desserts and a chocolate fountain, while sounding great in theory, in practice all of these desserts looked like plastic demos of what a good dessert should look like. I didn't go for dessert. Most of the other dishes *might* have been good had there been a quick turnover rate and fresh batches brought out. The lack of "mouth-traffic" left this brunch as a disappointment at best. Maybe if they charged about $10 a place...it might be a place worth stopping to get your *nom* on some average, but cheap, eats. $20...c'mon now. So two stars...b/c: Meh. I've experienced better.

Banquet seating across one wall and high top seating in the one room dining area with a bar/drink area and coffee station. Lots of great breakfast choices. I'm so glad I went with the Western omelette. It was one of the best ones I've ever had! Perfect amount of perfectly sized ham, onion, peppers and cheese melted throughout and the wheat toast that comes with it is only one piece but it's a very large thick Bread, which was delicious. I ordered it with hashbrowns, which I was excited about, but they are not actually traditional hashbrowns ( shredded potatoes grilled), they're like McDonald's hashbrowns. They were kind enough to switch out for the home fries, which were very tasty. Build your own burrito $12 was nice addition but the hollandaise was lacking on the benny. They also had some breakfast/lunch specials, and who doesn't love biscuits and gravy!? so good! Service was friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back soon! I could do without the salsa though because I like adding hot sauce on my own. But, the staff is so friendly and helpful and the burrito is so tasty. We have never sat down in the diner. I have been inside to use the bathroom though and the place is nice. It reminds me of a modern, clean version of a traditional diner.

That now, I like a place like Rocco's for what it is not and doesn't have. What it has is normal food. Seeing the negative reviews, my curiosity was piqued to see just what type of diner the people who did not like Rosco's DID like, and the answer did not surprise me. It was like playing a guess the stereotype game: a lot of them gushed on other diner's yelp pages about them having vegan donuts and gluten free this or that. Oh brother. So if you are looking for the hip, trendy, "healthy" reinterpretation of comfort food, by all means, go elsewhere. But those of us actually looking for simple old fashioned food, go here and you will find exactly that. * on a Sunday, you can get only breakfast food.
