We tried the potato dish w this DOPE hollandaise like sauce which was seriously, lick the bowl delicious. The boi got pesto pasta w a heaping side of vegetables and I had this steak dish. Meat was rather dry and tough and for $18ish it was a bit too high price point wise. It's definitely a small, family owned business so I hope they can work out some minor kinks and stay in biz. Was excited to have a new restaurant to try since this area is limited, but it was just average for me. Highlights were the chicken and garlic sauce. The chicken was tender and fall off the bone, fried rice primarily tasted like sesame oil and pork chunks were dry, and standard French fries. I bought extra sauce and I liked the garlic one best. It also came with a side salad. Turns out salad dressing was not included, so I got confused and used one of the sauces on my salad. The vegetables were basic iceberg, radish, cucumber and carrots. I also got a chicha for $3 but it was in a bottle, not homemade, and I didn't like the taste - it was like drinking purple inca kola and pure sugar and not worth the calories (1 bottle is 100% daily sugar intake!) The meal was also expensive for what you get. We paid $48 for 2 quarter chicken meals, extra sauce and 2 drinks with 10% tip for pick up. Menu is limited which would be fine if the food were executed to perfection. read more

Very friendly staff here, they asked me if wanted to eat in or take out, they said have a seat when I said eat in and was very quick to give the salad and my sauces. Plus when I whole meal there were walked back to ask me if wanted hot sauce and how I enjoyed it. Really good service, you can tell they take pride in there food here. So the salad was pretty straightforward, but I love that green dressing I got with it, really wanted more for it. Fries were piping hot and fresh cut, plus lightly salted, definitely a plus. Chicken was well seasoned and I loved the skin, not burnt and not rubbery. The meat itself was juicy and fall off the bone tender. Now the rice, was alright, but bit sad it was not as fresh as everything else, it felt bit cold, like was made a while ago. If was piping hot like the fries would be totally fine. Overall this whole meal that comes with a can of soda was $13.50, very hard to whole meal at that price without being shorted. Wow, i was surprised of how good the food was here. My wife and I both ordered the Tallarin Verde and we were not disappointed. This is a the only place I know in Highland Falls that has homestyle cooking and one of just 3 restaurants I will even bother to visit in town. I eat here about twice a month for the past year+ and keep going back. Nearly every other restaurant in town serves highly-processed frozen food. This is fresh made in house from real ingredients the way they make it in Peru. I like everything they offer, but I especially love the rotisserie chicken (pollo a la brasa) with the Asian inspired fried rice (arroz chaufa). Having eaten many meals in Peru, it's such a treat to get authentic Peruvian food close to home. I love to support this family owned restaurant because the owners work there every day to make great food and provide a personal experience. They are so sweet and accommodating and I always feel so satisfied when I leave. It may not be the cheapest option in town, but it's not as expensive as some people portray it. And since the choice in Highland Falls is between good real food like this and disgusting fast food options, I'll pay a little extra for the delicious healthier option. Keep it up Nana's. read more

Never had Peruvian food until I ate here with a colleague and now I try to make it as often as I can. The Tallarin Salteado is savory and delicious with steak and red sauce. Interesting beverage choices straight from Peru (Chicha, Inca Kola) which is sweet and delicious. The server/cook was really informative on what we asked about and ordered. Previously had arroz chaufa and was looking forward to picking up close to home. It was a big disappointment. I should have cancelled the order when I realized it wasn't made fresh. It was scooped from a sitting container into a take-away. It was so dry: the chicken, egg and especially the rice. Their description of this dish states "quickly cooked".
