I would never actually go here - but I was sent to pick up a DoorDash order. I stood there waiting to be greeted.. so I walked infront of a group of people and said EXCUSE ME to the hostest who was on her phone. She pointed for me to go towards the bar. (She didn't speak) every other person racially profiled me and assumed I can speak Spanish - even though I spoke English the entire time. I go to the bag where the hostest pointed - and it's actually a customers bag and she snatches it back from me. I used to eat hear all the time when they were in the food court and later moved downstairs. The food is generally good. I usually ordered chicken with white beans and rice. I stopped by today to place my usual order only to find out the menu had changed and I could no longer order that particular meal. So, instead I asked for a side of plantains, side of rice, and a side of white beans without the veggies or meat. I was told that I could still get those items but only if I ordered what they call a "mixed plate" even though I was asking for each item as a "Side" which they do offer if you eat In-house. Imagine the shock when I get the bill and it's over $20! Shock then turned to horror when I opened the package and saw how little the portions were! Yikes! A medium carton had a small ladle of beans on a scoop of rice and 3 plantains! What in the world did I pay for? And though the food was tasty it was certainly not worth $20+. I wouldn't even complian about the price so much if the portions were fair, but oh no . . . Good Ness! I felt violated! We stopped in before a movie and went with Spring rolls de lomo saltado to start. They were delicious steak spring rolls which reminded me a bit of cheesesteaks but better. Def recommend getting a drink to enjoy those with. Next up was ceviche a la brasa. Never had Peruvian ceviche before and it was a tasty surprise. I knew I would be happy right away because there were just loads of garlic involved, but the sweet potatoes. OMG. Wow what a find! Great service and delicious food. Our waiter recommended our food and we loved the arroz con mariscos (seafood) and fruiti do mare. Empanada were freshly made from scratch. Steak looked like it had been run over by an 18 wheeler and was dry and difficult to cut. A gnat landed and walked on the salad. Told the waitress and she smiled. Asked for coffee and we're told it's only served at breakfast. So who's going to order cake without coffee. I always tip 20% or more. This time I ate at the bar I ordered the 1 chicken empanada didn't disappoint For the main course white rice, white beans with a delicious very tender filet mignon. The portion size was just right. I was so disappointed when my food delivery arrived. The rotisserie chicken was dry. The fries were cold. The salad was missing. The arroz con pollo used to last me at least 2 meals. They increased the price to $19 and made the portion smaller. It was so small, I ate the whole thing with no leftovers. Also they forgot to include the onions which is my favorite part of the meal. The taste was good which is why I gave 2 stars. For 2 entrees, I paid $50 through Grubhub incl taxes n tip. I definitely feel like I got ripped off. The fish ceviche was excellent and there was a good amount fish. We ordered the mild which had nice flavor with just a hint of spice. I normally don't like the sweet potato in ceviche dishes because it's often bland but this was sweet and went really well with the sauce. Both the fresh and fried corn that came with it were good too. The side of plantains we ordered were super yummy and melt in your mouth. I do not know if it is shrinkflation or what but last time i ordered the portion of ceviche it was so incredibly small as to not be worth the money. Found out about this place from a friend and looked forward to trying since there are no Peruvian restaurants in the area. It's located in a small plaza near IBM in Poughkeepsie (there is another location in Middletown), which isn't a very visible location, but I'm always willing to give a new place a try. We started with Chicharron de Calamar. They were very crispy served with sliced red onion, hominy, and chopped tomatoes. Shared Seco a la Nortena for dinner and it was good and authentic. The decor is bright, servers were friendly but a bit slow to get our check. I know many restaurants and service industries have raised prices over the past several years. I was shocked, however, to see an 18% service charge added to our check. I'd of course recommend bringing cash to avoid paying the additional charge. In addition, the cocktails are way overpriced. There are bars in the area that charge much less and are using top shelf liquor. I'm not sure I'd return. read more

I have only eaten meals brought home to me by my fiancé, which I might add was always very good, and reheated well staying moist, and delicious. My retirement group decided to try them out for lunch one day. We arrived just after opening so we were the only guests for awhile. There were only 2 staff that I saw, but did not hamper the service, quality of food, or meeting any of our needs ( we were a party of 9 ) without reservations which did not appear to bother or upset them. Wonderful authentic Peruvian cuisine! They are no longer located in the food court but instead they have a huge restaurant located near the theatre and Dunkin' Donuts in the mall. They have a section of the restaurant where you can sit and enjoy a wonderful dining experience or get drinks and food at the bar and they also have a section where you can eat your food while not being waited on, if you prefer this over the fine dining experience. Pleasantly surprised getting Peruvian food this good in a mall setting. We started with Causa de Camarones for an appetizer and it was great. Our entree's of Anticucho de Corazon and Lomo Fino were equally as good. The wait staff was courteous, friendly, and attentive. Price's were about what I expected. Normally, I check Yelp first, but we were at the mall and I figured I'd be stuck with a typical fast food lunch... but then I saw Peru Cuisine, and I'm glad I did. The guy behind the counter was very nice, and explained any food we didn't recognize, and gave us free tastes. We got a few dishes to split and everything was extremely tasty and well prepared. They use high quality ingredients, too- all white meat chicken breast and the fish was top notch. $10 a plate for lunch is more than you might expect to spend in the food court, but it's worth it. The place isn't cheap but the quality of food should be considered gourmet Delicacy and i would pay $100 a plate for the food because it's so so good! We had a party of five people that went to this restaurant on 8/1/2020. The restaurant was recommended by not only Yelp as well as one of the couples in our party. We were seated promptly by a very nice young lady that was the best part of our experience. The waiter we had was rushed and did not seem to be interested in our needs. After we ordered we were virtually ignored by him for over an hour. After multiple inquiries about when our food was coming the nice young lady came to our table and apologized for the delay. After finally getting our food in about an hour and a half two plates came out both were the same meal and both were way over cooked the steaks were like shoe leather and the nice egg with what was supposed to be runny was so over cooked the yoke was hard . The third and fourth dish came out next a few minutes later one was cooked very nice the other a chicken sandwich had so much sauce it was dripping and the bread was soaked ...unfortunately the last dish was my wife's it was a 1/2 of chicken dish it looked cooked properly from the outside but when she cut into it and touched it it was stone cold . I haven't tried a lot from the menu but what I have tried, was good. The ceviche was so fresh and well seasoned. I only eat Peruvian ceviche and I am very picky. You won't expect to find this place in a food court so give it a try. I usually get it to go and enjoy it at home with some crackers. I also ask for some of their hot sauce (cream orange color) so I can dip my potato in. I have tried their food that they have in the buffet line. I have tried the chicken in a green sauce ( a bit drybut the sauce was really tasty) and the beans which Are pretty good. The portion are generous at least when you get it to go. read more
