I just had a surgery implant and I have to say doctor Dr. Mark Urata was amazing. He was very patient may sure was numb and comfortable before surgery. I felt very little pain and the best part he was done within 30 minutes. I also like that after surgery they show an X-ray Showing the placement of the implant which Dr.Mark was right on point. I had a painful and unusual case of tori, which required surgery. My dentist referred me to his preferred doctor to perform the procedure. That doctor wouldn't do it, because it was too complicated and risky with potentially dangerous side effects. I met with an Oral Medicine & Pathology specialist, who examined me for an hour. He said Dr. Urata was the surgeon I needed for a procedure this delicate. He was right! Dr. Urata did an amazing job, eliminating my problem with none of the dangerous side effects that I had been warned about. Also, the office manager, Beeta, along with Dr. Urata's assistants, Susana and Victoria, were all wonderful. read more

This is a letter of complaint for the scheduling at Glendale Surgical Associates. For my son's wisdom teeth extraction, I called to confirm his appointment, insurance, and time on Thursday, 6/15. At that time, I was told the time of the surgery would be Monday 6/19 from 10 am to 12 pm - consult and surgery. I wrote that time down along with my notes from the conversation about what would happen that day. My son spoke to a representative on Friday and also confirmed the 10 am appointment. He said the person he spoke to tried to switch the time to 8 am, but he told them it needed to be at 10 am. Specifically, they said, "would you like to still come in at 10, or would you like to come in at 8", to which he said "I'd like to come in at 10 am." His girlfriend was in the car with him when he received this call to witness this interaction. On Monday morning 6/19 at 8:07 am, he got a call saying we were late to the appointment and needed to be there in 10 minutes. We are in Granada Hills and there's no way we could get to Glendale at that time. Upon hearing this, the receptionist canceled the appointment and said the next available date was July 31. When I called back to see if there was anything that could be done, the receptionist insisted that she spoke with my son personally confirming the appointment at 8 am; he stated he did speak to her, and the appointment was at 10 am. I think the lack of a follow up email and automated call reminder is the challenge here. I would blame the receptionist (who was condescending about the situation and was even talking over me as I was trying to ask questions), but I feel there is a process breakdown here. The whole situation was a negative one. Both my son and I took time off of work for this appointment, and there was a complete lack of sympathy for this situation. If we had received some sort of compassion from the staff, since at the end of the day, my son is in pain, then the situation would have been a little more bearable, and I would not have felt compelled to write this letter. But I feel I need to help other families so they don't experience this issue. At the end of the day, there are other surgical centers who will take my son, so I immediately called another one and made an appointment for next week. read more

He tells me what is going on at each step of the process and there are no surprises. His procedures are fast and painless. The X-ray technician and administrative staff are professional, personable, and highly competent. The facility is fancier than most dental offices. I was recommended here by my primary dentist as I needed to have my four wisdom teeth pulled, my dentist recommended two other offices before this location but both were 6-8 weeks out. So I tried my luck with this place, I called to make an appointment and it went through some other office because this location was closed for a few days. I was told I'd receive a call in a week max confirming my appointment and insurance coverage...my appointment was set for three weeks out so I figured okay. I had to call them the Friday before my surgery (they're closed weekends) to confirm my appointment for the following Monday and to ask about the portion my insurance would cover...the lady I spoke to seemed irritated and said something along the lines of "I haven't gotten to my Monday appointments I'll call you when I get there" okay....she calls a couple of hours later and then tells me that my surgery is going to be treated as if I don't have coverage since we don't know how much they'll cover blah blah blah. That Monday morning I handed them $2100 in cash and have since waited for any kind of communication from them, I finally called them today 10/18/21 almost a month after my surgery and almost three weeks after my insurance sent them a check for $1807. The first receptionist I spoke with confirmed that the check was mailed out recently and for the amount of $1600ish which was weird considering I paid for everything out of pocket. She said she would have someone give me a call back in a bit, what I got was a woman by the name vial or something along those lines who was VERY CONDESCENDING, you know the type the kind who are rude while being "nice and profesional" in the end I wish I would've gone with the first two places my dentist recommended. We consulted with another oral surgeon and he wanted to do two separate surgeries, pulling the 4 wisdom teeth one time and the 1 extra tooth in a separate surgery. I feel so lucky to have found this place! I called the office early morning to schedule an appointment for my 2 wisdom teeth extraction and their receptionist was so accommodating & friendly. She scheduled me right away on the same day knowing that my other tooth was aching. When I came to the office, the receptionist was nice & friendly. After few minutes, I met the doctor's assistant and assisted me to the room. She was very compassionate and kind throughout the whole procedure! Then the doctor came in...
