AMAZING SURGEON! I have had only positive experiences with Dr. Stepanyan. In 2014, I had a rhinoplasty which changed my life! I had gone over 15 years with only being able to breathe from one of my nostrils (and to a very limited degree) while not being able to breathe from my other nostril at all due to an injury. Not only did I have an amazing aesthetic with my the outcome of the rhinoplasty, I was able to take in more oxygen and feel better than ever! I also felt more confident and I have Dr. Stepanyan and his team to thank! I would like to update my review that i left a year ago. I finally got my nose fixed by a different surgeon after Stepanyan ruined it. The surgeon who fixed it had to replace my cartilage since Stepanyan removed too much of it. Also my new doctor mentioned that when Stepanyan tried to fix my nose during the second surgery after he ruined it, he replaced some of my cartilage but put it in a wrong spot so my new doctor had to remove it from there and put it the right way. Its only being three weeks after my surgery with different doctor but my nose already looks much better then after Stepanyan messed it up. I am posting this review to let people know that whatever Stepanyan thinks its the best it could look in reality is not and he just doesnt have enough skills to perform a better job. I called the office at least 5 times and requested my medical records for my new doctor who had to fix Stepanyan's mistake and the office workers found excuses not to provide me with my own records. I highly recommend getting any plastic work with Dr. Stepanyan. Not only did he accommodate me by giving me an early surgery date even though he has a busy schedule, but he is such a thorough and detail oriented doctor. From the first consultation I could tell that I was in good hands. He happily answered every single one of my questions and more. In June of 2021 I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. Even being young in my early thirties, I also developed high blood pressure, difficult to control with medications, due to sleep apnea. First I was prescribed and used CPAP, but it was very inconvenient and almost impossible to use. I had a consultation with Dr. Stepanyan. After thorough evaluation of the severity of my problem and examination with CT Scan and measurements by Dr. Stepanyan, I found out that I can have Orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery) where he would move my upper and lower jaws forward, including my chin, to open my airways and cure my sleep apnea permanently, with no need to use CPAP ever again. Dr. Stepanyan went over every aspect of what I can expect from the surgery along with what tools he would be using. He did the entire treatment planning virtually and even ordered custom titanium plates made precisely for my jaws, to secure them in the new positions. Dr. Stepanyan performed 8 hour very complex surgery at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena. After surgery he took great care of me while I was in the hospital and after I was discharged home. At my weekly follow up appointments he would make sure I had no pain or discomfort. He would also make sure my bite continued to sit correctly.  He was always available if I ever had a question or concern even in the middle of the night. I healed really fast due to Dr. Stepanyan's precise surgery and use of custom made plates and dissolving stitches over efficient incisions.  I had the surgery in December 2022. It has now been 7 months and I can eat whatever I want and I am sleeping better than ever. Dr. Stepanyan has tremendously improved my quality of life. Dr. Stepanyan did my double jaw surgery 10 years ago and I am now having to undo and fix what he as a medical doctor did not correctly diagnose or treat. I had to find out from other oral surgeons the joint condition I have. He also used a screw so large it went directly through my mandible, which I found out years later through CTs. The radiologist said that screw explains the nerve damage I got after the surgery. His explanation of the nerve damage right after surgery was that it was just one of the many potential risks and that I would never be fully satisfied. When trying to then retrieve my medical records years later, his office evaded me for 3 months saying they were locked away in some "special storage unit" and he kept being on "vacation when I called". They were so nice on the phone and said they would follow up- I called three times and sent an email. Zero follow up. My new surgeon said that's absurd and my medical records should be with the hospital. They are liars here. My new surgeon, who is specialized in oral surgery and TMJ joint disorders, is always shocked when looking at Dr. Stepanyans work when he reviews my scans... especially when he saw that screw. Luckily I'm in much better hands now, but wow the night and day difference of a doctor who cares and one who doesn't is so apparent. Stepanyan is the latter. Also there was ZERO follow up through the years after I had this major surgery as a teen. Great patient care. My new surgeon was also shocked by this. He said he does jaw surgery follow ups every 2.5 years for the rest of the patients life. He should not be trusted with big surgeries- Botox and filler sure. But as someone who has now gone through hardware removal and nerve loss as a direct result from his terrible decisions as a surgeon, stay far far away from this place. Sure, surgeons make mistakes (screws that are too big and go directly through the jaw bone, nerve loss for the rest of your life), which you agree to as a risk of surgery. But wow was I shocked how evasive his office has been. What are you hiding? There are plenty of better places in LA to go for the same services he offers. I would not trust this doctor or his office. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. after the implants were places Martin clearly showed us a scale of the sizes of implants, ours being literally the XL size (mind you, he promised they would be 'barely noticeable' yet decided to place the XL) As for the scar on the center of her nose, they have absolutely acknowledged it, and Martin recommended putting my wife under once again to fill in the scar tissue with cadaver skin. The nose job I got done by Dr. Martin Stepanyan, on May 8th 2018, was the best thing that has happened to me. It changed my entire life. Before, I had a nose with a bump and my septum was deviated. It was pushing on the left wall of my nose and was slightly blocking airflow from that side. My nose overall was too over-projected from my face. It was not symmetrical nor proportional to my face. My nose was that way due to my genes and to the fact that I fell on my nose when I was 4 years old and impacted it. My nose was my biggest insecurity. I felt like it made my look harsh and not gentle. It wasn't cute nor feminine. It didn't reflect how I felt inside. I didn't love my reflection in the mirror. I didn't love nor respected myself. I was not confident. After doing a lot of research and consulting with many doctors, I finally chose to proceed with Dr. Martin. The consultation was free, he listened, didn't rush me, cared, was genuine, was extremely reasonable with his price, was confident, and he earned my trust. He never told me to photoshop a picture and show him what I want. He was against prediction photographs because he didn't want to give me expectations and hopes for something that might not turn out that exact way. Not only is he an expert, but he is above all an artist. Our individual faces are his canvas. An artist cannot draw two identical paintings. He cannot design a nose and try to plug it into everyones face. A nose might look one way on one person but a different way on another. What he does is he looks at the geometry of every face and individually tailors and personally customizes a nose that will match the person's face and will enhance and improve the aesthetic balance of their beauty, while also taking into consideration the preferences an desires of his patients. What I love about his office is that his surgery center where he operates is located inside his office. So it is super convenient. Days before the operation, they gave me a list of things to buy and start taking to prevent bruising. And also, instructions on how to take care of the nose after the operation. These are magical and golden rules and instructions because believe me or don't believe me, but I DID NOT bruise at all, I DID NOT have the usual major swelling that most people have. I am aware that it depends on the persons' body, but those steps and instructions are extremely effective. Normally, a nose is swollen, tight, and lifted for about 6 months to a year and after that, It finally takes on its final and perfect shape and look. So you need to be very patient. But in my case, already after 1-2 months, everywhere I would go, at the bank, at work, or at different events and parties, EVERYBODY would approach me and compliment my nose, they were mesmerized by it, some knew it was a nose job (not because it looked fake and done, but because of our Armenian culture/stereotype...we are known to have imperfect large noes so a perfect nose = nose job), the majority of other people couldn't even tell that I got it done because of how natural it looked. I had to tell them myself that I got it done. Then they would ask me when I got the nose job and I would tell them only a couple months ago, they didn't believe me. That is how GOOD and HEALED it already looked so early. It has been slightly over 2 years since I got my nose job. God is my witness...let me not lie when I tell you that in the past two years, about 40-50 people complimented my nose and begged me to give them my doctor's information which I obviously did. To this day it happens and I'm sure it will continue happening. I love my reflection. My new nose made me love and respect myself. It gave me an EXTREME AND MAJOR CONFIDENCE BOOST. I finally feel like my cute, small, beautiful nose is reflecting how I feel inside and matches me and my personality. It destroyed all my insecurities. It made me feel free and unstoppable. Dr. Stepanyan is a really great doctor if your idea of a great doctor is someone who takes $15,000 in advance for surgery, doesn't end up performing the surgery, and then refuses to return the money. Think this can't happen? It did. The only reason we let it slide is because it was easier to just ignore it than going through the hassle of legal action against him and his office. Payment was made to the doctor for maxillofacial surgery months in advance, per his office's request. During pre-op sessions and other visits however, it was clear that the doctor's and staff's beside manner wasn't what it should be and ultimately we began to feel uncomfortable going forward with the operation. When we complained about the bedside manner, the staff's attitude changed from there on and they became utterly rude and unresponsive. That sealed the deal and we ultimately decide not to have Dr. Stepanyan proceed with the surgery. Normally, ethical business establishments would refund the cash they've collected for a service not rendered. But apparently, that's not the case here. When we asked for the refund, Dr. Stepanyan refused to hand back the $15,000 and instead said that he himself was not backing out and would be happy to continue with the surgery. After months of back and forth, we decided we'd rather avoid contact with him and his useless staff than to deal with legal action. As a plus, we reported him to the Dental Board of California for unethical business practices and flat out theft. If you decide to do business with this guy, don't give him money in advance. read more

My experience with Dr. Stepanyan and his staff has been nothing but excellent. I had my rhinoplasty done in July and now 6 months later I am very satisfied with the results! First I would like to say read my review if you are on this page. :) I met Dr. Stepanyan as a patient about 18months ago. I had 2 unwanted moles, one behind my head and one next to my nostril. I had 4 wisdom teeth that had to come out and had severe sinus issues, post nasal drips, chronic headaches dizziness and constant sniffles which was really bothering my lifestyle and my work. Oh and I'm a Registered Nurse myself. Reason I came to Dr. Stepanyan for a consult was because I was rendered by a friend and then I did research and my reaction was wow. To some people reading the reviews and regarding his education, he's NOT JUST A DENTIST he is a surgeon a brilliant surgeon with wall full of credentials actually 2 wall full of credentials and over 12+ years of schooling. I TRUSTED HIM with my face and my health. he performed 2 mole removals, 4 wisdom teeth removals and Left total Sinusotomy at once!!! It was a big surgery but I do not regret it at all!! In June of last year, I received a Rhinoplasty from Dr. Stepanyan. Now, almost 8 months later, I can say I am very happy with the results. I had a large bump on my nose, and when you looked at my face head on, it was also slightly crooked. Dr. Stepanyan was very informative and reassuring during our initial consultation that these problems could be fixed. About a month later, I was scheduled to receive my surgery. The morning of surgery I was greeted by the nurses and doctor in their in-house surgery center. The nurses were very sweet and caring and checked on me often to make sure I was okay and calm before I went in. The doctor told me that with my nose, I had the option of doing either a closed or open Rhinoplasty. I decided to go with open, because it gave the doctor more visibility. After the surgery I went home and had a cast on my nose for a week. I was in pain the first few days, but it was definitely tolerable, especially with the help of the prescribed pain medication. After the first week, the bruising around my nose was already very minimal. A tip: follow the doctor's instructions to take Arnica before the surgery. I also took Bromelain starting a few days before and continued both throughout the week after my surgery. I believe these helped reduce the bruising and swelling greatly. I also followed the office's instructions to apply antibiotic ointment and scar gel to the incision sites and I have nearly no visible marks. Overall, I had a great experience with Dr. Stepanyan's office. He and his staff are very professional, informative, and caring. I am happy with the results and look forward to seeing my nose in its final form when I reach the one year mark since my surgery. read more

Dr. Stepanyan and his team saw my 14 month old son for emergency treatment after he fell and suffered facial trauma. I'm a dentist from out of town, but if I lived in the area I would recommend Dr. Stepanyan to my own patients. I was very impressed by the entire office and the doctor. I was shown before and after photos of clients who had one treatment of Pellevé wrinkle-reduction treatment for the eye area. The photos showed significant results with just one treatment. I had one treatment and no results at all. I was also recommended to do a variety of fillers and botox where I don't think I need it just yet, but perhaps when I get to my 40's I will consider it. read more

Dr. Stepanyan is AMAZING! I went to him for wisdom teeth removal surgery, and the whole experience was flawless. During my first consultation, he thoroughly explained everything to me and answered all of my questions. Furthermore, the whole office is organized. I was given written, detailed instructions; I also received phone calls in the days leading up to my surgery, in case I had any further questions. On the day of the surgery, the doctor spoke to me beforehand and made sure I was prepared. My surgery was on a Friday, and throughout the weekend I had more questions for him- which was no problem! I phoned him multiple times on Saturday and Sunday and he answered my calls without hesitation. Overall, I am thrilled I chose Dr. Stepanyan as my surgeon.
