The staff brutal, all but rude! Glasses and cutlery were filthy. Food was so bad, 3 out of 5 ate what we got.. and the 3 moaned

I think we ordered the worst meal options on the menu... I ordered a side salad and chicken wings. They claimed to have buffalo sauce on them but they didn't. The blue cheese sauce that came with them wasn't blue cheese. I was disappointed by them. The salad was fine. My husband had the chicken curry. It was bland in flavor. A couple next to us ordered burgers. They looked good. We should've ordered that. The service was great. The food wasn't. And it was expensive. I subtracted two stars for that. read more

Nancy Hands is a beautiful pub with excellent service. Multiple rooms, table taps, beer garden - just fantastic. Particularly nice are their dinner specials. Twice now we've been able to enjoy fish cakes (slightly spicy, with Thai sweet chili sauce - delicious), with a side of fries and a pint of beer for just 10 euro. This place is brilliant! read more

Food is ok, but service very slow. I asked for blue cheese dip and they brought me mayo. Genuine abd tasteful Irish food. Good Guinness.

I was at a thirtieth birthday party here on a Saturday night. We had the whole upstairs to ourselves, with our own private bar ;-) Upstairs has very high ceilings and feels very airy. There is a definite celtic vibe in this place, added to by the great trad session going on downstairs. The party platters were the usual fare, however, they were very nicely presented and tasted good. There is a very traditional feeling bar downstairs, as well as a larger lounge. AMAZING BAR. The owner Dom is a great conversationalist who makes you think and laugh at the same time. Came here as a tourist from NYC and left after 2 hours of conversation which I couldn't walk away from. Bartenders were spot on too. From the moment my family and I walked in, the people behind the bar were just rude. One man said no seats upstairs, but did not offer to seat us downstairs. We found a table in the corner where a man came up and said due to two large tables, they were not even taking orders for at least twenty, maybe thirty minutes. A young girl finally came to grab a drink order, when all of a sudden the previous gentleman told us that the table we were sitting at had a reservation on it for 7:45. This was at 6:30. We weren't allowed to order food and we weren't going to be able to sit there once we did. With no help from the people working there, and they didn't seem to care anyway, we left. What a terrible, cold experience Nancy Hands was. I would never recommend them. read more

Rude waitstaff. Food decent. We made a reservation and when we arrived no one even looked up or greeted us. We had to find someone and they seemed bothered to seat us where they proceeded to sit us in a cramped corner next to a torn bench. We almost left but decided to stick it out. I asked what the "joint of the day" was and the server said Cajun pork, so I ordered it. I am not from Ireland so I did not think that was odd for "joint of the day". The server was not Irish but sounded French maybe. She was hard to understand and I imagine so was I. When I got my food it was a wrap and chips. I knew this was wrong because the "joint of the day" said it came with champ. When I called her over I was not upset, I just advised this is not what I ordered. I knew we had a language barrier so I wasn't upset, I just didn't want the wrap. She insisted I ordered the "wrap of the day" Cajun pork. I explained that I asked about the "joint of the day" and she became angry and said that I did not. She grabbed my plate rudely and went to get me bacon and cabbage, the real "joint of the day". I really was not upset until she made me feel horrible. She was so nasty. The food was decent for me, my husband had salmon that was not so good. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Just rude and nasty people with mediocre food. Ryan's Fx Buckley down the street has much better food and friendlier staff. If you are looking for a place to eat on Parkgate street go there instead. read more

This was my local when I lived in Dublin and I still visit Nancy Hands when in Dublin. Nice atmosphere inside and with different areas to wander into. Staff very friendly, great tasty food and serves a good pint and provide an excellent service. Easy access from the city centre via the LUAS which stops outside the Heuston Station and is about a 5 minute walk to the place. read more

We had pasta and meatballs, and seafood bites and couldn't eat more than a few bites of either due to the smell of the restaurant. We should have known better from the free pint of Guinness add. There must have been some type of gimmick to get people to come in. We saw so many great reviews and we're stumped. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day. read more

Decent food, nice setting, but very over-priced. I had the chicken and while I could not find fault with the quality of the dish (except perhaps for the size of the portion of mash!), I would not be prepared to pay €23 for it. I had the baked Alaska for dessert, which was disappointing and at €7, too expensive. Also, the restaurant is understaffed, or at least it was on the night of my visit. Nancy Hands is my local pub, but unfortunately, it seems the restaurant is targeting the (wealthy) tourists rather than the locals. Upstairs they have some wine bar and their selection is decent. Overall an okay experiance, just too pricey! read more

I give this place 5 stars because the wait staff and food was wonderful. I've read afew of the reviews on here and I'm like can you be more American???? If you want a quick in and out restaurant find a McDonald's. I've had nothing but great service here and the owner Dom made us feel welcome. The food was good i had the beef pot pie and my partner had fish and chips. The atmosphere was truely an Irish pub nothing fake about it. I love seeing the locals and it was really pack on a Friday. I like going to places where there's more locals than tourist because if the locals like them you know its good. As for slow service, you have to understand and maybe read up on Irish pub culture. They are way more relaxed here and its about enjoying a pint and food with good company. You take your time to eat and drink. The wait staff isn't being rude because they are not tending to your every need because most waitstaff in Europe don't have to rely on tips for their wages. Its not bad service it just service. For me i don't mind not being waited on hand and foot I'm just enjoying the ambiance. Overall this place is worth checking out. You can meet some really nice locals and learn more about Dublin and gain some helpful tips on your trip. read more

i guess i had my hopes up, it was ok. the pub/restaurant looked nice and had that feel, but the food was meh. ill go again and try something else and at a different time bc while we were there a bus load of people came in and had the upstairs booked.but a pint with a football game on and it was a good lunch. read more

Loved the food. We had a large party, and they jumped thru hoops to accommodate us all. This was our first meal in Dublin, and they did it right. My only negative was they didn't have malt vinegar (a must for me with fish and chips), and the fish did get soggy very quickly. Solid call for sure. read more

A fine Irish pub with an attached restaurant that has plenty of atmosphere. The potato soup and the lamb dish were terrific. The pork chops and the chicken salad were just OK. I would definitely go here for again for lunch or early dinner. read more
