Service was excellent, Pizza was done in 27 minutes (right in the quoted 25-30 minute window) and my goodness, was this a good pizza. Thing about Nancy's is their red sauce, top-secret blended cheese and spectacular crust. Any deep dish purist knows the purest form of the Chicago Deep Dish is the plain cheese and Nancy's delivers. If you wanna taint your deep dish experience toss a buncha topping on there and go to Uno's. If you want to experience what is meant by the true foodies raving about the art of Chicago Deep Dish, grab Nancy's Cheese. And don't forget to film that cheese pull as you serve the first slice. Food was outstanding, deep dish cheese pizza and chopped salad. The salad's are amazing because you can design them your way. I am not a gorgonzola fan but do love mozzarella so, I was able to get mozzarella in my salad vs. gorg. Also, I love banana peppers so I added that to my salad. Crisp lettuce and lots of dressing. DON'T make the mistake of even trying Nancy's in Island Lake, IL. I was visiting friends in town and I volunteered to pick up pizza on the way. I used google to find pizza close to their house, but didn't check the reviews first, big mistake!! LG thin with 2 toppings & MED thin with 2 toppings and it was over $50. The price is too high and as it turns out, simply not worth it. I ordered crispy but it was SOGGY, the undercarriage was white! I feel like they were also cheap with the toppings. It's just a small place in a low end strip mall, and with no dining area. How can a place with such a low overhead charge so much for such an inadequate product!! It looks like the best scam going in Island Lake. It's not going to take long for an entrepreneur to see there is a huge opportunity to open up a place and watch Nancy's rightfully close up. What a disappointment. I used to buy a Nancy's stuffed pizza every Sunday night all Summer long as well as Spring and Fall. That began back in the 80's, and blended perfectly with my then bachelor life - perfect way to cap a great weekend. Then I got married, moved to the 'burb's, and had a kid. But boy did I miss Nancy's stuffed pizza. So when I found this one, in spite of the 30 minute drive, I ordered one. The person on the phone was a delight -professional and helpful. when I arrived to pick it up, they were precise and it was ready. Excellent! However, the pizza did NOT meet their prior standards of excellence. In fact, it was a bitter disappointment. Why? First of all, is was NOT stuffed pizza, It was a thick crust or pan pizza. How do I know? I ate them for 10 years. I know my pizza (it is a requirement to become a true Chicagoan - on the test). In addition, all the toppings slid to one side of the box, which was truly a bummer. In addition, it was on plain cardboard with no plastic mesh under the pizza, nor was there a spacer to prevent the top from getting smashed by the lid. This cause the pizza to stick to the cardboard and is a PIA to peel off. Toppings were reasonably fresh, and the sauce was 'OK'. A little to acidic for my taste (I like to add a bit of molasses to all tomato dishes to damp down the acidity. The original Nancy's did that) I am sure lots of people like them, and taste is to the individual, but I can buy a lot of frozen pizzas that are as good for the $40 I spent. And I will continue to do so, and get my stuffed from Old World Pizza who still makes them the right way to my taste. read more

Pizza was decent, but prices are insane! 3x 16" thin pizzas with an average 2.5x ingredients each, and only 20% of the toppings were meat, the other 80% were things like olives, garlic, onion, cheap toppings total with tax and no tip, just over $113. Wife ordered the pizza for a family event, I didn't know what the price was until I got there, probably should have just left! Can get pizza for like 40% less at the place by our house, but ordered Nancy's for nostalgic purposes. Screw the nostalgia, never again. Tried their stuffed pizza and fries and the flavors here are just excellent! While the stuffed pizza had a little too much cheese for my preferences (like, 1.5" cheese layer), they definitely have the best flavor around for their sauce and crust. Sauce was savory and very thick and is my new favorite. I am excited to try their thin crust. Fries were crispy and loaded up with toppings. Nancy's is not stingy with toppings, that's for sure! The stuffed pizza is expensive, but is so tall and so dense that I was done after a slice and a half, so it was definitely worth it. read more

We used to go to Nancys often. After last night never again.We ordered a small pizza and a large pizza, that was it. It was $44.25 !!!!!! The pizza was thin crust. I had a 25% off coupon so the final price was $35.30. There is ALOT of competition out there, they are NOT competitive in their prices thats for sure! Gave us a new menu. Four stars or five? That was the question for me today. Nancys original Stuffed pizza has been my favorite pizza for over 40 years! Starting with the Harwood Heights/Niles location. I don't have the chance to get it often anymore, but when I do the closest location is Island Lake. We ordered it tonight as a special treat. If I'm able to I will post a video of my pure giddiness, excitement and joy knowing I was getting Nancys Pizza! The not so great news: it definitely was not the same stuffed Nancys Pizza I've had all these years. It was basically pretty flat. I'm hoping to add pictures. The GREAT news: it still tasted absolutely delicious! I called and spoke to management and they offered to make me a new one, but since I don't live real close I opted not to go that route. BEST news of all, they assured me that's not the new way of making their pizzas! (hey! We are all human beings, and we all have bad moments and we all have times that don't shine, right?!) We learn from our mistakes and we move forward! Hence my dilemma: four stars or five. But I have to go with five. It still tasted great and management was very professional and kind and offered to make it all over again. Recommended...but NOT THE WINGS. I've been a Nancy's pizza lover for 40+ years. Since Edwardo's folded years ago, I think Nancy's stuffed is the best stuffed their is. And their thin crust is great too. Other things on their menu are very good. But last night I git the 7-piece order of wings...for $11. I'm sad about what has happened to wings in general. Across the board, the quality has gone down and the prices have skyrocketed. And unfortunately, Nancy's is in that boat. The wings were borderline bad. Each piece (remember, 7 pieces isn't 7 wings...it's 3.5 wings) cost $1.57. They were smallish (I've seen smaller), they were not meaty, overcooked and fairly dry. The sweet bbq sauce was fine but it did nothing to make the wings anything like plump and juicy, which good wings should be. I still love Nancy's, but the wings were a big disappointment. read more

8/27/2020 - not happy. We are long time loyal customers and today I called asking about a coupon for the 25.00 deal offering a free cheese pizza and explained that we are having a lot of work done to the house and do not have the coupon handy. The person who answered said they would not honor it if we do not have the physical coupon. While I understand that it is policy, I also believe in honoring loyalty and this did not happen. I told the person that I would be calling rosatties and he said Okay and hung up. The food is great but they have horrible service! I order all the time from them and they have a fit about coupons! Just a tip, coupons are meant to drive business, create loyalty and increase returning customers! That is why you put them on the box. If i order from you all the time which you clearly see in my account why do you need the physical coupon? I call usually in the car on my way home last minute so i dont always have the chance to find one when i just walked in the door. I can honestly say this deters me from ordering from your restaurant. I know its a couple dollars but it's the principle it! I do not feel valued as a customer! The delivery guy will literally stand at the door while i have to go and dig one up. This place is very disappointing and ridiculous, in the time of a global pandemic when we hear "support local" and "small businesses are suffering" we tried to order from Nancy's. Our address is 5.1 miles away from the restaurant, we called to verify that delivery was possible, the phone staff put us on hold 3 times to verify, finally asking the manager on duty. After 20 minutes on the phone she finally said "yes, we can deliver to you". We place an order. Twenty minutes later we get a call back from the manager absolutely refusing to deliver a pizza. Again 5.1 miles away, in a time every restaurant is clamoring for business. Now it's an hour later and we have to start all over again to try and order a pizza. Extremely disappointed with them ! Our order was over 30 minutes late called when it was 10 minutes late and was told by a nice girl on the phone . Oh he should be there any minute he left . Great food, horrible customer service!! We purchased dinner 'to go' there several weeks ago. When we got home we noticed the side salad was missing. We called them to tell them and they confirmed it was still at the restaurant. Asked that the salad be added to our account for our next order. No problem. Attempted to order our usual last night. Asked that our comp'd salad be added to the order. Guy said he didn't see it noted on the account. We told him it was the younger girl we spoke to several weeks ago. Had Nancy's by where we used to live and it was our main pizza go-to but unfortunately they closed. Glad we found this location when we moved. Good pizza - thin crust, rustic crust, deep dish - tried them all and they're all great! Spinach salad wasn't bad either - a lot of spinach and was fresh. Cannoli are tasty. The only down sides are the delivery times (we just do pick up now-a-days) and the prices are a little steep - but those won't stop us from being customers. read more
