Went to Chi-Town Dogs on a Friday night for a takeout order. Order a Chicken pita with onions and sauce, 2 large fries and two Gyros. Chicken pita was very good with moist chicken, fresh onions and great pita bread. The hand cuts fried here are awesome. Large order gives you a ton of fries and the taste fantastic. The gyros were very good and my only nitpick is they were a hair light on the sauce but that's not personal preference vs a shortcoming in the meal. Meat was tender and flavorful and an excellent meal. Great staff. Super friendly and great communicators. We'll definitely be back and would recommend that you give them a try if you have not been there yet.

The hot dog was pretty good, but they had Fox News on the big screen TV. If I want to be lied to I'll go home and talk to my son.

They came out with the flat top for the carnitas, al pastor, and chicken and they had huge stone bowls for the salsa, guacamole, and salsa verde. First the food was excellent. The meat was seasoned perfectly and coooked with the amount of crisp that I enjoy. The onions and cilantro were freshly cut and a great accompaniment to the protiens. They even had homemade tortilla chips, so I was happy to oblige for my second trip. The flavors were delicious and the presentation came across as homemade and rustic, versus some of the local Americanized hispanic restaurants in the area. Last note is that the owners, Luis and Genaro Garcia, were very kind and made sure that everyone was able to get enough food and feel catered to. Don't pay attention to the old reviews and listen to me... when you come here, you should expect food made with love and passion and if you have any issues with it, Luis and Genaro would gladly help you out. I chose Famous Meal 2 with the Chicago dogs and onion rings; my husband ordered Famous Meal 1 with the beef sandwich + au jus and fries + cheese sauce. The highlights for me were the onion rings and the snap of the actual hot dogs. The toppings were good; now I know what a Chicago dog is (Tomato! Neon green relish! A pickle! Peppers! Mustard! Raw onion!) and I can move on with life. I took one bite of the sandwich and knew I ordered wrong. The meat was sliced thin and piled high. Curiously, every order is bagged up, whether you dine in or not. It is cute how they have rhymes when they call out orders (Number 388! No more wait! 389! Time to dine! etc). Overall, I was happy to try the hot dog and I would definitely return for something else. Pros: - friendly - lots of parking - open kitchen - fun decor and ambience Cons: - hot dogs are "just okay"

Only at Cane's - it's not really inexpensive. I wasn't going to review this place because I don't like writing negative things about restaurants and posting them on Yelp. However, I also wasn't ever planning to eat here - until a friend took me yesterday, a friend who had also never been here before - and she didn't like it either. On the surface Cane's is a typical fast-food place, clean and well managed, with a friendly staff and lots of empty tables. However the menu at Cane's is limited, not only in it's offered food items but also in the way that you can order them. For instance, Cane's really offers only "Combo Meals" ($9 to $16), as well as large "Tailgate" platters ($48), a "Kid's Meal" ($6.99), and a few sides, including slaw & what they call "Texas Toast". And every meal is centered around ONE ITEM: a battered finger of chicken breast that's deep fried. There's no grilled option, no fish sticks, nothing else, except for toast, fries & slaw. So if you eat here You WILL Eat 'deep fried Chicken Tenders, Fries, Slaw, and a slice of unbuttered slightly grilled bread, + a Fountain Drink". But this isn't the Real problem that I had here. My issue is that they offered only ONE Type of pink-grey Dipping Sauce (which I didn't really like), the Fries were dry, the Slaw tasted medicinal, the "Texas Toast" was a nothing-nothing, and even the water tasted bad. It was NOT A GOOD LUNCH even at half the price. If you want a typical chicken-fingers plate - go to Denny's! For those reasons I will Never return.

Date of visit: December 13, 2025…read more I love a good Mexican place, and as much as I enjoy Carlos's, it is good to have other options for when I go to visit my friend in the McHenry/Spring Grove area. The restaurant is very large with a variety of seating options including some interesting swings. I say interesting because it's really more of a novelty than anything; honestly, do you really want to have a seat that moves while you're eating chips with salsa? The menu is interesting, with a heavy focus on birria (think brisket, if you're unfamiliar) including in a dipped/fried taco as well as a grilled cheese sandwich, which is what I went with. While the meat in the sandwich was good, there was very little cheese to speak of, and that should be an important component of a grilled...cheese. However the chips and salsa were excellent, with some of the best chips I've had in quite some time, they really taste like more. In terms of the salsa, they are not lying with the "Diablo" in their name. If you are not a fan of spicy, stay away from the salsas as even the mild is fairly potent after a few chips. Also note that sour cream is available but doesn't tend to come WITH things by default, so be prepared to ask for that if it's a key part of your Mexican meals. Also disappointing, the tacos come with raw onions on top. This isn't mentioned on the menu, and was a very unwelcome addition to the dish. Service was a bit of a mixed bag; Jasmine was nice and attentive but struggled on some aspects, including telling us what the three salsas were when she brought them to the table, and saying that birria was a "biscuit," which thoroughly confused us. She asked if we wanted more chips and we declined, but then she brought more anyways.
