Very bummed about our experience at Nantucket inn. For what you pay, there are so many other charming bnbs in town that provide much better service. The rooms are clean and updated which is where the good ends. We had two people try to enter our room - one unannounced with a key - during our stay. We had a late check out so perhaps communication could use a little work. I had trouble finding my room and passed 2 employees on the way, none stopped to ask if I needed help. If you're looking for the Marriott or Hilton customer service standard, you're not going to find it here. Perhaps they need to be compensated better to provide better service? Bizarre. We stopped at the cafe where I ordered 3 entrees, drinks and fruit. The cashier looked wt my receipt and loudly announces to his coworker "hey man, NO TIP." I was so stunned and uncomfortable that I gave hjm $20 cash and he didn't even say thank you. Then I watched him harass the NEXT couple about also not leaving a tip. Dude, tips are for servers. They probably messed with our food so here's to hoping we don't get sick. The location is great if you need somewhere to hang before your flight, otherwise certainly watch the prices to stay closer in town. I'm sad and embarrassed I recommended this property to my guests when I got married on island. I hope they had a better experience than me. read more

Great accommodations, clean, wonderful Staff, and conveniently located across the street(walkable) from the airport. The Hotel offers shuttles to downtown and to Surfside Beach, but it is out-of-the-way if you're looking to be able to just walk into the town. It was quiet, considering the airport, you really did not hear the planes flying. The indoor pool was beautiful! And the outdoor pool was nice as well., It's not heated so on the book ends of the summer would be a little cold. But it's refreshing when it's hot outside. read more

Stayed here on my first, adult, trip to Nantucket with my bride. Great place. In close proximity to the airport. Nice compound of Cape-style buildings. Very nice and clean rooms, and facilities over all. Great bar (woo hoo), and an incredible breakfast... I still can smell those waffles cooking! In hindsight, we should have rented bikes as it is a trek into Town. However, it is all manageable! Lovely place, and we'd stay there again. Quiet. Relaxing. Clean. Fiscally reasonable. read more

The Nantucket Inn was my home away from home on a recent extended business trip. They take their COVID restrictions seriously! Masks at all times outside your room except when you're seated at the breakfast table. Speaking of breakfast, like a lot of hotels, COVID has required some substantial changes in how the buffet is operated. The people staffing the buffet couldn't be nicer and the hotel offers a rotating set of hot items as well as a more constrained (due to COVID concerns) set of continental options. The hotel WiFi can get spotty in some rooms, but they are very accommodating of lobby and business center use as long as you're masked up. This hotel is conveniently located directly across from the Nantucket airport, which is ideal for those flying in as well as those who want to partake of the reasonably-priced dinner offerings at Crosswinds, the airport restaurant that inspired the classic sitcom Wings. read more

We had a fantastic experience here. I was worried after reviews I read online but the complaints were a little ridiculous. Yes the hotel is undergoing major reconstruction, the indoor pool and restaurant is closed but we were happy with the breakfast spread of fruit, cereal, etc (organic milk and high quality cold brew coffee) . The staff is extremely hard working and friendly and the front desk offers free waters and snacks 24 hours (there's also a convenience store across the street and the crosswind's restaurant at the airport). The shuttle runs like clockwork and the drivers, especially Danny are great. The rooms are immaculate and modern, clean and comfortable. The pool area is peaceful and they are literally cleaning the pool and hot tub every time a leaf falls into the water. Bring your own towels for the beach, they don't offer those or chairs but you can rent chairs at surf side beach. Also if you are dropped off mid island at night (highly recommend, it's calmer than town and has the restaurants that the locals go to) there is a huge chance you won't get picked up on the way back. I would stay here again, $1400 for 5 days in august beats dropping $6,000 at a resort in town any day! read more

terrible hotel. NOT NEAR ANYTHING. The room looked great online from pictures, but it is by the airport. The room was over $600 per nite, they don't even offer free lobby coffee! And then the pool, indoor, reeked of chemicals. I swam on Sunday with a group of screaming children. next morning was excited pool was empty. 4 staff members were sitting by the pool. I got in hot tub and one staffer immediately descended upon my peace and asked if I was a guest. YES IM A GUEST. IM IN A SWIMSUIT, WITH MY ROOM KEY. If he had taken the smallest moment he would have realized this, but instead had to insult me by asking if I was a guest interrogating me like I was a criminal. THEN 2 OTHER STAFFERS - ALL YOUNG BOYS BY THE WAY - CAME OVER TO TELL ME THE GUY IS JUST DOING HIS JOB. AGAIN ACTING LIKE I DON'T BELONG THERE, I ALMOST SCREAMED THAT I PAID $600 TO STAY AT THIS PLACE and I don't appreciate being hassled because I came to use the pool as a registered guest. These 4 employees had nothing better to do. NOT ONLY WERE THEY OVER STAFFED with 4 employees sitting around doing nothing but interrogatting me when I walked in IN A BATHING SUIT - SO WHY WOULD YOU ASSUME IM NOT A GUEST, I HAD A ROOM KEY I PLACED ON MY POOL CHAIR. Very convenient location, and very typical of other inns on the island. They do not serve complimentary breakfast, and there were 6 spiders in my room over the course of 2 days. And a few ants. What's up with all the spiders? The bed was comfortable, and there are K cup coffees in the room, which I liked. Clean, but the spiders made it hard for me to sleep and be fully comfortable. My boyfriend and I took our first trip to Nantucket on a cold, windy, rainy weekend and the Nantucket Inn was our saving grace!! We were picked up by the Inn's shuttle service at the visitor center, which was very close to the ferry port, and brought to the Inn. The entire lobby/restaurant/bar area is all so beautiful and welcoming! The check in process was wicked easy and our room was even ready a little early, which was really nice as we needed a little reset after traveling. The room was cozy and fresh and very comfortable. My boyfriend loved that the a/c in the room worked exceptionally well... even if I did not lol. The shuttle took us in and out of town with ease and made not having a vehicle on the island so much easier. The beds are comfortable, and we appreciated that there was a sink in the bathroom and a vanity/sink outside the bathroom, so multiple people could get ready at the same time. Breakfast was tasty, and we loved the shuttle service that would take us to the beach and downtown. This place is located right across the street from the airport, but I didn't notice any noise from the planes. They offered to drive us across the street to the airport, but it was just as easy to walk! read more

I get the whole nostalgic island thing, but just two years it was way overpriced and now its 3x the way overpriced. I have stayed here many times for work. The staff is always very friendly and the rooms are clean. It's very convenient being next to the airport and they have a shuttle van that drives into town every hour. They are currently renovating some rooms and the breakfast dining area. One of my worst customer service experiences ever. The worker bees are phenomenal, but management is hateful. If you booked on Expedia or any 3rd party site, be prepared to be treated like dirt, insulted, and intentionally treated with an "I'd help you if you booked directly through the Inn" attitude. My recommendation: DON'T book at this Inn at all!! This Inn is not Nantucket Island. It's like vacationing at a regional airport parking lot, except management is nicer at the airport. Not convenient to the beach, lighthouses, restaurants, wharfs, ferries, or the downtown. All you see and smell is the airport which is in your face. The room smelled chemically, which may've been a product of the perpetual jet fuel smell in the air. Don't expect to rent decent bikes there. Terrible. read more

Avoid. I've stayed here before and had a terrible experience. I should have remembered when I explained that I was in a pickle and that the fed ex around the corner was closed. I couldn't bring my suitcase on the plane, and I didn't have time to go across the island back home and make it back in time. I've asked hotels if their bellhops would hold my bag until the next day for fed ex pick up and it has NEVER been a problem. In fact most are very helpful. NOT HERE! Instead she said "that's your problem sir" being someone who comes here a lot and someone who needs short term accommodations for guests, I will never put my guests in a place where they would be treated like this. LIKE COMING HOME! Absolutely love the Nantucket Inn. We have been there several times over the past few years. The staff is just awesome, so friendly and caring. They are always there to lend a hand or do something special. Very genuine. We love staying in one of the king cottage rooms. Just lovely and so relaxing. The shuttle convenience is great. I really enjoyed this place . The breakfast was included in an affordable room costs. Most of the seasonal staff was very nice. They are around 4 miles from the center but 2'miles from surfside beach which was a nice bike ride. The only thing I didn't love is everyone was presentable but the bicycle girl who is contracted it seems outside. Maybe they could have her wear a nice hotel shirt so it looks more professional then NyQuil and a blanket servicing bicycles. read more

Scott ruined my experience. I flew in here from California and was looking forward to my time on the island. unfortunately our ferry did not get out at a reasonable hour and in tern I was not going to wait eight hours hoping to get out on my vacation. Scott was more than disrespectful in regards to my time, my experience, and my trip. We were not only not offered a refund but not even a credit. I had no means to get to the island without spending my day in the parking lot which is not ideal for someone traveling this far. Great place especially if you have kids. Indoor and outdoor pools. Fast efficient shuttles to town and to beach. The rooms are nice - nothing amazing. The buildings have a nice courtyard outside that you can sit in and relax. The buffet breakfast was extensive and excellent. Lots of places to sit and chill in the inn including a nice bar area. Unfortunately you have to give a star to write a review. I've been staying at the Nantucket Inn for about 3 weeks, extending my stay twice. They certainly made the last extension one of the most painful and illustrates that if the staff didn't memorize something, i.e. Guaranteed check in is 4 pm, it's not going to happen, no matter what. I wanted to take advantage of a special, not available in the basic room I had and they wouldn't let me stay in my room for the special (can anyone figure this out). So I had to check out at 11. I waited in the lobby for 3 hours. My room still isn't ready. Housekeeping works on their own schedule. I will never stay here again and would recommend against it. I couldn't believe their inability to accommodate a customer who had stayed with them for weeks. Not to mention the monotonous thaw and serve breakfast. read more

The pros: the grounds are pretty, the lobby and surrounding common areas are lovely, the rooms are decorated nicely, good shampoos and soaps are provided. The breakfast was very good and the "lower level" employees are wonderful, hardworking and always ready to please. The cons: Inn is directly across the street from the airport so there is jet noise and smell of jet fuel in the air. Room had musty smell and chemical-like odor so we opened the windows to air it out, but the smell of jet fuel proved to be even worse. Location is three miles from downtown so lots of time waiting for buses/shuttles. Inn's website says it is right outside downtown. I found no mention on their website of the easy access to the airport so I don't understand why when people give less than stellar reviews on these facts, the General Manager tells them they should have done better research. I suppose I could have used a satellite map to investigate the area, but I figured reading the Inn's website would be sufficient. Upon check-in we realized there was a problem with our reservation. We had inadvertently booked two rooms but only needed one. We spoke with the front desk supervisor who was abrupt and inflexible. We asked to speak with the manager but he was much worse than the woman. He came to the front desk appearing defensive, listening to our story and looking at us perplexed. We explained we made an honest mistake while booking multiple hotels for this trip, and would he be willing to refund our money for the less expensive room if he could fill it. At this point they still had three rooms available so the extra room we booked had not caused them to turn away potential customers. He was adamant, inflexible and would not hear of it. Within a couple hours of our arrival, the entire hotel was fully booked and yet it was still the GM's preference to turn potential customers away rather than sell them our extra, empty room and offer us a refund, or even a partial refund. We understand their cancellation policy, we understand booking the extra room was our error, but we were hopeful they would show some understanding and allow our extra room to go to another customer. After all, we still stayed in their hotel in the larger room we also paid for. Instead, the GM told us he is a businessman first and foremost and would not refund us or the third party site we booked through, even if he was able to get someone else to take our room. To me, that is incredibly poor customer service. read more

Amazing place. Came here with my mother and we stayed on the second floor "condos". The room itself was gorgeous and it's surrounded by beautiful courtyards. The staff is lovely and are easy to talk to. They seem pretty excited about their jobs. Very attentive. Shuttle drivers ask how your day at the beach was and bartenders offer cookies out. The breakfast was one of the best parts. It's called Moms breakfast and it has every type of good you'd want for breakfast and it's cooked wonderfully. Buffet style. They even have pictures and labels of what everything is in case you're not good with English. Sit outside. I had a great experience here. Indoor and outdoors pools. They can be annoying and loud because of little kids but that is not the inns fault, it's the parents. There are lifeguards at all pools. Wonderful place and ready to come back. read more

Beautifully appointed hotel. Lovely quiet rooms, despite the fact that the hotel is across the road from the Nantucket Airport. The breakfast buffet is probably one of the best I've seen offered at a hotel. The rooms (double bed) had two sinks, which is a great convenience. Shuttle service was awesome. The drivers were super courteous. There is a very nice Exercise Room. I have a little story about my experience in the exercise room that I found disturbing. I was working out, there was a trainer and her client also working out. They were using several pieces of equipment (including the workout bench) INTERMITTENTLY. Another person came into the work out area and wanted to also use the bench equipment. So instead of finding a way to share the equipment, the trainer kept harassing the other person every time he wanted to use the workout bench. Mind you, again, the trainer and trainee were using it intermittently. Well eventually the trainer bullied the other person into not using the workout bench and he left. I am writing this review to let the hotel know about this situation and to take action to keep this from happening in the future. The two parties could've figured out a way for everyone to get their work out done. read more

I would like to first off start by saying when trying to contact this establishment I was continuously referred to Mr. Logan after multiple corrections to Dr. Logan. I have worked very hard on my PHD from Harvard and I did not appreciate the disrespect of the Mr. pronoun I was continuously referred to my the manager Scott while trying to dispute a charge. I flew in here from Montauk to try and experience the differences of islands to not only be disrespected but then to find out i wouldn't even get to the island from Hyannis. Apparently there was some high winds which I will be taking up with the ferry's and Fox 5 news on the incorrect reporting because according to Scott the manager the weather miraculously cleared and you were able to ferry out at 8pm vs my 8am ferry. Does he really think I have nothing better to do than sit in the parking lot? Does he think I'm paying to stare at payment? Guess again Scott. I don't appreciate the lack of customer service or the understanding from the management staff. Do better. read more

During my stay here 2 years ago, I found a room that was not clean, terribly mean front desk staff, a belittling and bullying manager and inconvenient location. There is a town shuttle which is a plus. The prices are lower than most Nantucket hotels, which was the reason the manager gave as the cause of poor customer service and weird add on charges. My husband was embarrassed at breakfast with no cash to pay as the hotel claims breakfast comes with the room. Little did we know that if you are there for a conference, the "bargain rates" really mean deducted services. No deal here! Go somewhere else! read more

Full disclosure: I did not stay here - my review is about the quality of customer service regarding booking and cancellation. Note that if you book through a third party, you will still be charged a 10% cancellation fee - after taxes - so be 100% sure before you book. The third party site claimed that cancellations were free if they were made 3 days in advance, simply not true. Calling the hotel to work it out with management proved to be a futile exercise, bordering on rude. I got my money back, but I had to expend a lot of energy to do so. I've been told by Nantucket regulars that this location is not easily accessible, and would be much better off staying close to town at a more reputable inn, where the customer is treated with respect. I wish I had read these reviews before I booked. It is not worth the money at all. Rooms need updated, A/C seemed old and very small rooms. The place is kind of country looking and not Nantucket at all. Felt misled about how close to town it was supposed to be and disappointed that this hotel was far from town, the shuttle helps but it's a pain. The staff was not happy and always seemed to be in a bad mood, from front staff to housekeeping to restaurant staff. There is definitely an issue with their attitude that comes from the top, woman manager. Silly things like they shoved a college fridge under bath counter and the hotel bar didn't have olives or olive juice for a martini. All Haitian or something similar as staff. Did not speak English very well. Hotel was clean. Rooms were on the small side but did have a refrigerator and a tiny desk. Who ever tiled their bathrooms floors did not know what they were doing. They left spacers in the grout and a lot of the grout was out as well as some cracked tiles. 215 for one night. Easily the worst hotel I've ever experienced. Paid over $550/night and it felt like we were staying in a cheap sleazy motel in a bad part of town. They use language like "courtyards" and "cottages" to make it sound like you're going to have a Nantucket experience but in the end you're far away from Nantucket next to the airport. The room walls are paper-thin so you hear everything that's going on in the room next to you; both nights we we woke up to the lovers in the room next door screaming in ecstasy (mostly expletives of encouragement). We complained to the manager and he said he had no way to control the noise and dismissed our complaint. In the end we found a different hotel forfeiting over $1,000 just to get out of there. Same rates for nice accommodations in town. After our experience I read the one-star reviews and found that others had experienced similar things at the Nantucket Inn. Buyer beware! read more

Very disappointing stay. The hotel staff was awful. Unfriendly does not begin to describe their demeanour. From the moment I checked in the hotel, to the moment I checked out 3 nights later, I felt as though they were doing me favour by being there. One day I came back to my room to find that the cleaning lady had not properly closed my door. After making sure there was no one in my room, I called the front desk only to be told to check if anything is missing. No apology, nothing. At about 3:00 the next day when I left my room and it had to be cleaned, I saw a cleaning lady and she asked if I wanted my room cleaned. I told her if she could that would be great, but not necessary. She quickly snapped back at me that she needed me to utter the words "I don't need my room cleaned". Wow. The room itself was fine, although I was on the first floor close and had to keep all of blinds shut due to anyone and everyone being able to see in (the back of my room was the parking lot where the shuttle picks up). Shower ok, bed fine, no real complaints here. If you need a convenient hotel, close to the airport for a short stay then this place is do-able, otherwise pay a few extra dollars and don't bother with this place. read more

DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS. It may be a fine hotel, but the management is terrible. My family had to cancel a trip to Nantucket because of a medical emergency, and hotel management refused to refund any of our deposit, which was the entire amount of the stay since it was booked through a travel site. The travel site (Booking.com) was very helpful and willing to work with us, but the hotel refused to give any consideration to our situation or alter their policy in any way. We even have a letter from our doctor saying we can't travel, and every other entity involved in our travel plans - other hotels, the ferry, etc. - has been willing to work with us on at least partial refunds. I understand they have cancellation policies and all that, but the lack of common decency here is pathetic. read more

It sounded like someone was in my room talking at 4am because the person next door was on the phone. I heard everything and it woke me up. Negatives:Shuttle van was not at the dock upon our arrival on the steamship.we lugged our bags to the shuttle stop on Federal Street, the van was waiting there. Location of the hotel is approx 3 miles from town.For my wife and I (both 59 yrs old) the shutttle was the way to get back and forth from town to hotel. ..We found it very annoying to have to check shuttle times ,then often have to squeeze into a crowded van.Additionally we had a day of rain and one trip into town took an unbearable 50 minutes.During the rainy day i decided to sit at the indoor pool and relax in the hot tub.A clearly marked sign prohibiting children under 14 yrs old is posted.Unfortunately inconsiderate parents were bringing toddlers and all age young children into the hot tub. To the lifeguards credit ,he did attempt several times to have the parents keep the toddlers(some wearing diapers) out of the hot tub,only to be told by the parents that the manager said it was O.K. for them to be in the hot tub.When I asked the clerk at the desk to speak to the manager I was told he was at a meeting.Upon expressing my displeasure to the clerk, the manager suddenly appeared from his meeting to tell me he will deal with it and he went directly back to his office. This Motel (can't really call it a Hotel or a B&B) is certainly convenient to the airport and good for inbound crews but the $375/night rate should come with more than just a room. It is VERY business unfriendly and there are some of us on this island that need to do business! Internet is free but very slow. Many rooms have no working area or desk and there are few electrical outlets. When I tried to print a small 3 page document on a flash drive, I was refused by the staff. Really???? Rooms are generally clean but not large. AC system works OK (typical) but a Marriott it is not. This year you can rent bikes on the property which Is a good thing. No restaurant and the nearby AK Diamonds is closed so if you don't want to take the shuttle, good luck getting something to eat. I recommend spending your money downtown if you can! read more
