My girlfriends and I had a girls' night tonight and decided to try NAPA at Providence. We made a reservation for 8 PM, and as soon as we arrived our table was ready. It was a great start. We decided to skip entrées and do a mix of appetizers with wine, and honestly everything was delicious. I had the Caesar salad with shrimp and it was so good. We also ordered the bacon wrapped dates which were amazing, the Brussels sprouts which were probably my favorite of the night, the flounder with risotto and green beans, one of the flatbreads, and the scallops. Everything was full of flavor. I wasn't a huge fan of the flatbread, but everything else was fantastic. The service was excellent. Our server was great, and even the manager came by to check on us. The whole dining experience felt warm and welcoming. The restaurant itself is super cute. When you walk in the bar is right there and there is also a patio area. Since it is winter they had outdoor heaters running so it still felt cozy. The restrooms were also very clean which I really appreciate. One thing to note is that parking can be a little tight in the evening. There is a Wells Fargo across the street where you are allowed to park at night and walk over so that makes things much easier. Overall Charlotte has been so good to me and this spot is another reason why. I loved my experience and I am already looking forward to going back. Great food, great service, great vibe. Napa on Providence has a pretty good happy in their bar Sun-Thurs! They have both food and drink specials. I stopped in recently and enjoyed a glass of wine and the margherita flatbread. The flatbread was ok--definitely needed the crushed red pepper to add some flavor. The dining room looks very nice, like a nice date spot. There is also a big covered patio in the front of the restaurant. Also plenty of parking in the dedicated parking lot to the left of the entrance. read more

This place is super close to my house and it's really pretty and cozy on the patio. Even in winter they have heaters. Brunch is great. But they also have some really good dinner entrees and a good charcuterie board. They make a good cocktail as welll and service is fast and friendly. We went here last night to celebrate my sons 18th birthday and have mixed feelings about the place. The vibe is really cool and we were excited to try. Food was good, bread service excellent as well as calamari and Napa salad. My shrimp cappellini was richer than I expected ( too much sauce it drowned) and my son asked for extra pickles for his burger but they said no they were out ( he loves pickles) Daughter's salmon looked perfectly cooked. The thing that really disappointed us was that even though our server wished our son happy birthday we didn't get to sing to him. As we were waiting for our check another server walked by with two plates with birthday candles she was lighting... we got our hopes up one was for us but she walked right past to another table. The hostess acknowledged our anniversary, our waitress did, and I'm assuming the manager did too, who brought us a card! Started with the burrata and champagne. Then crab and corn soup. Came here for restaurant week and had nice experience with friends. We made a reservation a few days in advance for a party of 3.. and judging by the full parking lot and restaurant.. I'm glad we did (tip: you can park in the Wells Fargo lot across the street once the bank closes for the day). I enjoyed that the queens feast menu offered a non alcoholic drink although when I ordered it, I was informed they were low on an ingredient, so I ended up ordering something different, the butternut squash soup that I started with was perfectly thick and had a good combination of sweet and savory. The short rib was nice and tender and was definitely the highlight for me. My friends who ordered the salmon were a little surprised by the presence of the espuma (although listed on the menu we kind of overlooked it/ didn't know exactly what it was) but despite this they said it tasted very good! We ended with the apple tart dessert which was quite large. I wasn't a fan of the caramel and I could taste much thyme.. also it wasn't really served warm which was odd. All in all a good experience with excellent service! The regular menu had a lot of variety and I would definitely come back to try some more dishes. read more

Napa is a great option for Queen's Feast (Charlotte's Restaurant Week)! The menu is at the $40 price point and offers quality dishes like short rib and even filet mignon for a $10 supplement charge. All of the restaurant and menu options during QF can be overwhelming, so I'm happy to have found a solid spot everyone will enjoy! We started with cocktails, which were fine, not mind-blowing. I ordered the Fleur de Vie, which contained rosé, tequila, and elderflower. It was served just in a regular tall glass with ice and a plastic straw. For $16, I would have expected some type of garnish and nicer presentation. Would skip this one. Our friend ordered a martini, and it didn't come with olives (the server brought some when asked). The So Long Summer Spritz was refreshing and did come garnished with lemon & lime. And our other friend said the spicy passionfruit margarita was enjoyable. I'm thinking next time I'll stick with wine. For appetizers, we got the Napa Salad and cast-iron meatballs. Salad was pretty standard and tasted good. The meatballs were stuffed with mozzarella and served with plenty of marinara. Yum! Enter the entrees: braised short rib and pan-roasted salmon. Both dishes were beautifully presented. I especially loved the look of the meyer lemon foam atop the salmon. Served over a winter bean cassoulet, the salmon dish had a seasonal flavor profile and feel. Short rib was also tasty as was the polenta it came with. Dessert time! We got both options: the apple tarte tartin and salted caramel cappuccino cheesecake. Both were great and different. I liked the pastry and warm apples in the tartin. The cheesecake was so rich with deep flavors. A perfect end to our meal! Service was friendly and good overall although I felt the meal pacing to be a bit rushed. Since we had to order all 3 course at once, the entrees arrived before we were done with our appetizers. I'm sure QF is a hectic time for the restaurant - it wasn't a major issue - we just had to do some last-minute plate shuffling to make it work. Napa is a charming Myers Park restaurant that feels like you are in a villa in wine country. They have an elegant indoor and outdoor dining area, and the vibe is upscale but not overly stuffy. The service is always top notch as well. I most recently came in for Easter brunch where they had a fixed three course menu including an appetizer, main, and desert. For the appetizer I had some delicious meatballs smothered with a tasty sauce and plenty of cheese. The second course was steak and eggs along with some home fries. The steak was a little undercooked for how I asked it, but I can let that go they were very busy with the Easter rush. Finally I had a chocolate cake for desert. I don't have as much of a sweet tooth as I used to, and while it was delicious, it was a little rich for my blood so I gave the rest to my girlfriend. Can't forget the fantastic mimosa bar that accompanied brunch, which included cranberry, pineapple, and orange juice so we could make our mimosas just how we like. Napa on Providence is top tier from the moment you enter. Friendly hostess and servers, beautiful decor, and plenty of seating. My group dined in on a Sunday, it didn't seem overly busy. My one complaint, just to get it out of the way so we're can get to the good stuff: the wait time for meals was quite long. We'd had a couple of starters and bread service, then he took our meal orders. It took about 35 minutes from the arrival of our bread to the arrival of our meals. I felt that was a bit long. The server was apologetic, and the food being good was a good thing. I got the French toast, adding a side of breakfast potatoes and bacon. I loved that the bread wasn't soggy! The sweetness was perfectly balanced and the chantilly cream was airy and beautifully done. I also liked the bacon, it was perfectly crispy and meaty, and the potatoes were well seasoned. I also got the Mint Museum mocktail and it was very good, refreshing, high not as minty I expected it to be. My husband got the steak and eggs, as did one of our guests. They both talked about how well the steak was cooked and seasoned. I'm try that next time. Or, will I try the chicken and waffles?! Couple nights in Charlotte wit my bf and I ran across this restaurant on a random Open Table search. Chose it for the name (I'm from a town near Napa Valley). Took a while for this but tried to work there as a host one summer as a teacher on summer break. A larger host there "julia" was the "daughter of head of hr" who chose to turn against me, told other hosts to do the same, literally slammed menus with all her might very aggressively in front of me, causing an extremely hostile workplace. I've been an educated teacher for years, the job wasn't Einstein material, but I was new and if I made a mistake there could have very easily been a respectful chat to address it in place of extreme unnecessary hostility. From there, our waiter seemed very rushed. Our bread in the goat cheese appetizer was stale: what should've been toast and even had grill marks was just soft and chewy. The post read, "Napa on Providence is offering a Father's Day 3-course brunch on June 18. Brunch is $35 per person." After arriving, we were seated right away. I quickly realized there wasn't a Father's Day 3- course brunch as advertised. When restaurants advertise a special for a holiday but fail to offer it, it's a bit disappointing. After reviewing the regular-schmegular menu, we decided to start with an appetizer. By the way, the menu actually had lots of options...however, regular-schmegular is fitting when you're expecting a special Father's Day 3-course brunch menu. The calamari wasn't bad at all, but I've had better many times. We weren't huge fans of the lemon aioli, but if you prefer a thicker, mayo-based calamari dip, go for it. The crab benedict was pretty good. There wasn't a ton of crab meat in it, but it was prepared and presented well. Our waitress described the short ribs and hash special as a spectacular dish. Spectacular? No. Satisfactory? Sure. It would have been better if described appropriately as short ribs and potatoes. Whenever ordering hash, we typically receive a mix of diced potatoes, onions, and seasonings, etc. that are cooked, then fried until crispy. On Father's Day, the short ribs special was accompanied by a few potatoes, similar to the ones served with the crab benedict, hidden under the eggs. The short ribs were the star of the table. The meat had a rich flavor that's a perfect balance of savory and slightly sweet, with hints of herbs and spices that complimented the meat perfectly. The chicken and waffles were a safe choice that received two thumbs up, even with its small portion size. Two members of my party ordered the french toast. One absolutely loved it. The other said his was soggy. All in all, I must say the upscale ambiance and attentive staff were not a substitute for failing to have the advertised Father's Day Brunch. For this reason, I doubt we'll return anytime soon. read more

I wouldn't say was worth it as I have had better scallop and risotto flavor pairings, but the scallops were delicious and cooked perfect. Both were cooked perfectly, just didn't have as much flavor inside as on the outside. The potatoes that came with the pork loin were amazing! The dessert was great! I visited Napa on Providence for Restaurant Week (the Queen's Feast) for the very first time. Usually, that's not a great time to judge a restaurant, as typically they offer a limited menu and have a high volume of customers. But Napa got it right. They have a parking lot, smallish but still nice when compared to the parking at restaurants uptown. It was full on this night, but we lucked into a spot. The interior of the restaurant feels quite modern and comfortable. It has a hip/trendy vibe but is not stuffy. Everyone will feel comfortable here in dressy casual clothing. Our service was good, not great. I think the server was distracted and hurried, even though it wasn't crazy busy. At any rate, we were taken care of. The food was delicious! We had a party of four, and everybody was very happy with their meals. I had mussels for my appetizer, which were steamed in a delicate wine broth and served with toasty bread for dipping. They were the best mussels I've ever eaten, cooked perfectly. I had mushroom raviolo for my entree, also in a delicate but very flavorful broth. The mushroom filling was rich and creamy, a perfect foil. The fresh salad on top was a welcomed fresh element. For dessert, we all had sweet potato cheesecake. It was fabulous, tasted of fall with those warm spices we love, and was creamy and rich. A perfect end to a delicious meal. I will be back! read more

The service was good and the restaurant interior was very pleasant. My wife and I stopped in, having not been to Napa for a few years, looking forward to dinner. The last time we went we had a delicious charcuterie. One of the best we'd had in Charlotte. We ordered wine by the glass from the tap which was good and ordered our charcuterie. It was so bad that we didnt want to finish it. Most it was bread and crackers. The rest was worse than if we had we gone to Harris Teeter and picked up $10 worth of olives and sausage slices. My wife said ut oh, must be new owners. So we ordered calamari instead. But that was a mistake. It was so bad we left 2/3 of it and decided should go somewhere else for dinner.
