4/13/26 4.5* Tried this place out because I was craving sushi...little did I know we would fall in love with the ramen! I just want to say Ramen is something we have only got once because the one where we are from isn't great, tried it once and never went back. This place on the other hand has awesome ramen! We ordered a beef fried rice for the kids, they chowed down on it. Was good, a little dry, but not bad at all. Ordered foxy lady and spicy girl roll, I thought the sushi was filling. The real reason for the stars though was the ramen! Ordered the spicy ramen medium expecting to eat it myself since my wife wasn't going to touch Ramen ever again and when that bowl came and the flavor hit the air she had to try it. It was her favorite part of the meal and my ramen quickly became her ramen. I did try it and would say it was amazing and we'll be back for more! read more

I hate doing this but maybe catch someone's attention. Everything about this place has went downhill. 1st is their service they have basically turned this into being staffed with HS kids with no experience while what I think is either the manager or owner just watches everything but does nothing to support. Last night as an example went in to pick up some take out and absolutely clueless. Even when they got me my order no thank you or have a nice day. Number 2 is their food I used to really like their ramen but when did chashu pork become like and over cooked burnt end. My Ramen last night was inedible besides the noodles and broth and immediately after had the worst upset stomach. Then my wife ordered a sushi roll with her ramen and they put it in the same bag with all the hot food???? So by the time I got home it was all warm. Gross she took one bite and that went in the trash along with the rest of our dinner. I would like to preface and say I procrastinated this after several more visits and has been on this downward slope each time and last night was the pinnacle. It's actually too bad because our city needs great places and I had high hopes for this place, but for now they have lost me as a customer for sure. read more

My husband and I have been to their Boise location a handful of times, and was disappointed the last few visits due to the drop in overall ramen quality. We decided to give this location a try, especially since it's closer to home. Safe to say we weren't disappointed - in fact, impressed by how amazing it was! The service was quick and friendly. I really liked the interior decor at this location, too! I ordered the spicy ramen at level 2/3 while my husband got the regular tonkotsu. My spice tolerance is about Hot Cheetos level, and the 2/3 here was nearing that ceiling. The tonkotsu broth was rich! It tasted way miles than the last few times we've gone at the Boise location. Also, their soft boiled eggs were delicious! I'm often disappointed when they're overcooked or not marinated long enough, but that wasn't the case here. We noticed that it was still a bit runny but the yolk had cured a bit due to marinating for a while - delicious! My noodles were thick and chewy, while my husband had thinner noodles. If you prefer thicker noodles, we found out you can request them! All in all, amazing ramen and service! We'll be back again for our ramen fix. read more

Our first visit, we decided to try out the sushi and we had the Tokyo roll a conventional shrimp tempura roll and a spicy crab roll, all were absolutely excellent. We are excited to come back and try the Ramen bowls. Danny was our white person, very friendly and on top of everything. Also good to know , they have a full-service bar, beer and wine. We were surprised that it is a sitdown full-service restaurant. We thought it was a grab and go. So we are extremely happy to have another dining experience here in Kuna. read more

I came in yesterday with my mom to get dinner around 7:20 pm. Our server took her foot out of her shoe and put it up to her nose and smelled it for about 10 seconds. it was disgusting and ruined my appetite. She did this directly infront of customers at the bar area. I have had good experiences eating at Nara in the past but this was so disgusting, I don't plan to return. I hope management looks into this situation. It's a gross thing for anyone to do while on the job, but when working at a restaurant it's a food safety concern as well. read more

This place has so much potential!! Decorated so cute inside. I got excited about some variety here in Kuna!! Especially sushi. My sushi was really good. I got the tiger roll and the sun kissed roll. My husband ordered the spicy beef ramen. He was pleased. He said that it was hearty, had good flavor, and plentiful. We also ordered the pork buns. Where's the pork?!! This is where the three stars comes in... who's in charge? There's no cohesive interaction. Such a weird vibe and unprofessional. We told our server we heard good things about their restaurant. He said,"Oh, really. That's surprising." I asked for a margarita. He said he could make it, but it was going to be a long time because he was the only server/ bartender. My husband asked for one of their beers on tap. Our server replied, " Well, I sure hope it works." WTH?? This is my first experience with Nara and I did a DoorDash order when I tell you I am overwhelmingly impressed with the quality of the take bag and the way my food was packaged I knew I was in for amazing food. Pork bun was delicious perfect balance of sauce and meat ratio to the bun, sometimes you can get dry bites from the bun but no every single bite had amazing flavor Now the spicy beef ramen I think I actually said yum out loud when I tasted the broth. The real star of the show was that beef rib they add to the bowl oh my good it literally feel off the bones and was easily the juiciest meat with the perfect amount of fat on the bone. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the lime was a perfect touch I can't wait to actually dine in if my delivery experience was this amazing! read more

Stopped in for dinner on a Thursday night. It was busy. Staff were friendly but seemed either short staffed or disorganized. Placed our order. Ask about the appetizer we ordered as it never showed up after we'd finished eating but was on the check. No drink refills were offered until we were leaving. Menu had many great looking items. My sashimi was not fresh and had the texture was not good. Alaska roll had very little salmon. We really wanted to like this place and support Kuna restaurants but sadly this wasn't their night. read more

The restaurant was full of smoke when we arrived, hard to breathe during the majority of our visit. The service was slow, most of their beer taps were unavailable, and the food wasn't very good. The gyoza was good but my ramen tasted like dirty dish water. I gave them two stars because the decor was nice and the gyoza was good. read more

The vegan ramen and agedashi tofu are amazing! The service is quick, i've never had to wait longer than 30 minutes for my order.

We walked in and was greeted instantly and seated. There were 4 of us dining. The server took our drink order and was prompt about bringing them. We placed our order for appetizers and they arrived fairly quickly. The server came back to take our lunch order. 3 of us ordered Ramen, I ordered a salad and sushi roll. The Ramen came out quickly. However, my salad and roll were taking some time. I look 2 feet over to my right and the two servers working were eating. No apologies for the wait, no checking on us. Finally we asked on an ETA for my food and get "I don't know". Finally about 15 minutes after the rest of my party was served, I was brought my food. There was the brief, "our sushi guy is off today. The manager made this and is slow". Never came back to refill sodas or waters and returned as I was still eating to say "you paying now?" At this point, I was over the rude tone. He then hovers over me with the handheld payment device and said "tip me first and the you can pay for your food". Really? Learn some people skills and some correct serving etiquette. Being who I am, I tipped the guy anyways when he clearly didnt do anything special to get a tip. My food was good, but I felt rushed to eat it because of how late into everyone else's lunch it arrived and how I was almost forced to pay for before even asking if it tasted ok. Maybe an off day, but I won't be back to that location. Paying $100 for lunch and being treated that way is unacceptable. read more

Quality of the food was very good. I got just a Shoyu Ramen bowl with pork and could've done without the meat with how flavorful the broth was. In our group we had one sushi order and it came out presented with dry ice. Very cool presentation. There is a sushi boat you can get with a similarly impressive look presentation. One in our group got tempura shrimp and tempura veggies. They loved them and went on and on about the freshness. We got three orders of the goyza and it was fine. Ordered a couple Nigiri, and the Maguro Tuna was brown, falling apart, and smelled like it was long past its prime. I sent it back. The nice kid waiting on us was not able to remove it from our bill, but to his credit was very apologetic. There was no manager present, and no other employees had the ability to correct our bill either. read more

Food was ready when promised. Had an hour wait in the past. We ordered extra eggs with our 3 ramens. Didn't receive them. It was a to go order and we'd already finished our meal when I called. They said come back and they would give them to us but other wise they couldn't compensate us. read more

Worst sushi I've ever had. My wife and I stopped in for some sushi and it came out with this weird dry ice thing that made all of our sushi watery and moist. On top of that I ended up getting food poisoning from the sushi. The only positive thing I can say is that the service was good. Do not recommend. read more

One of the best ramens I've eaten at in Idaho. The noodles had great texture. Solid sushi rolls as well. The food came out fast.

This was my third visit to Nara. I've ordered takeout before, but this was my first time dining in. The food was good, but the service experience was disappointing. I had ordered edamame, which never arrived. Instead, our server brought three boba teas that we hadn't ordered. Since there was no explanation, we assumed they were complimentary or part of a promotion. However, when the check came, I was surprised to see that we were charged for all three drinks. When I questioned the charge, the server responded, "You didn't like them?" I clarified that we had never ordered them. She still charge one because my daughter had already sipped hers, even though we believed it was given to us as a courtesy. I've made an effort to support this local restaurant, but integrity and transparency are important to me. Unfortunately, this experience has made me hesitant to return.
