SUSHI BOAT! Idaho roll, Soicy Crab Roll & spicy tuna
    Lyndsay S.

They made us a SUSHI BOAT. Listen- this is my absolute favorite chain in all of Idaho. Each new location they open gets closer and closer to me in Canyon County. But this time- they brought me the sushi boat. What else can I say except go to whatever one you feel is closest to what you need to do and try it. Sushi, great. ramen, great, appetizers all great.

Left to right. Spicy killer roll, idaho roll, sun kissed roll, o-toro and escolar, tobiko

The restaurant is beautiful and has a great atmosphere! Everyone was super nice. We were greeted immediately. We decided to sit at the bar and the sushi chef was fun to watch and talk to! We were immediately given water and squid salad as soon as we sat down. We got 3 rolls and some nigiri, and then matcha mochi for dessert! The sushi was well made and tasted fresh! We took home left overs! If you haven't had o-toro or escolar before, this is a great affordable please to try it!! Will definitely be back!

$6 dollars for the smallest bite of Nigiri. This is just laughable. I have never seen such small Nigiri before. I also just found a hair in the ramen. I use to love this place, but I will never order take out again. Wild.

Came here for a date night with my niece. It was my first time here, & our server was nice and patient as we decided what to order. Gave us many recommendations. We will definitely be back.

Against my better judgment we gave Nara a second chance and were rewarded with terrible cuts of Salmon Sashimi, hard and chewy. They have found a new low.

So nice to have a sushi spot on this side of town! We have gone twice, and both times the sushi was delicious. Very friendly servers, great presentation, decent prices and full bar!

Service was great! Very helpful, friendly and presented my order nicely. I came on a Monday afternoon for a late lunch. No wait, and came in as the lunch rush was just clearing out. The place is set up almost exactly like it's previous tenant (Homestead), but with different, and brighter decor. Clean and welcoming. The sushi was just ok. I ordered the Jalapeno Popper, a spicy tuna roll, and an Alaska roll. The jalapeno popper was yummy, but heavy with too much sauce. One piece was pretty much just jalapeno with a little krab, no cream cheese. My rolls were on par with grocery store sushi. Fresh, but the rice was off and the fish in both rolls was just ok. I had a few pieces leftover, which I would normally take home for later. But something about leaving these behind didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. Nice cocktail, beer and wine list. The glass of chardonnay that I ordered was probably the best part of the meal. I might be back to try other items that are not sushi, but sadly wouldn't recommend as a sushi restaurant.

I've been here half a dozen times now. We love it. The food is great. But there are never enough servers. Every time we've come there's been either one server having the entire restaurant or two servers sharing the restaurant and the patio. For me a typical lunch lasted about an hour. But if you come here prepared to wait, it's nearly impossible to make it out in less than two. Apps and food and drinks often come all at once. I would go more often but don't have the time to spend

    Spicy roll, unagi roll

We where seated as soon as we went in and they gave us some toasted peanuts which where tasty. They took our order and the food came out hot and pretty fast they a few tables taken. It had plenty of Japanese art up and a bar if you like to sit at and order. Looked clean and plenty of seating.

In town visiting my family, and tried this new (to me) sushi place. We started out with spicy edamame and shared several rolls. They were quite good. If you are sensitive to heat, be wary of the spicy edamame. You need not worry too much about the pepper symbols on the menu though. They are not overly spicy, but very yummy!!

Sweetheart Roll - Salmon, Tuna, Whitefish and Mango wrapped in Soy Paper & Honey Sauce - with a fun smoking special effect!

I had a wonderful early lunch at Nara Ramen. The restaurant has an open concept seating area and a full bar. The best part of my visit was my server Kale! Kale gave me recommendations on the variety of sushi rolls. I chose the Sweetheart Roll (salmon, whitefish, tuna and mango). The presentation was fabulous because it came with a smoking special effect. Kale also gave me some recommendations for Bobas and I tried the Coconut Mango which was delicious. She was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I understand Nara Ramen is very busy on the weekends, but if you don't like crowds they provide take out. The menu offers so much I can't do it justice, but you can check it out online. I recommend Nara Ramen and make sure to say hi to Kale!!

So I'll start by saying It was okay. Ordered their jalapeño poppers and felt like they could've been a little softer or cooked longer, they were too crunchy. I also felt like there wasn't much to them like ok I've tried this and won't order again type of thing. I got the spicy beef rib ramen and I thought that was good, I love broth so that was my favorite part about that. Also tried their sunshine roll and thought it was plainnnn, not much to it and/or lacking flavor. Personally I just don't feel like places need to go overboard on the decor on plates. I don't need all the frills, get your kale and fancy decor off my plate, it just doesn't belong. It's close by our home but I'm not sure we'd come back unless really in the mood for ramen (possibly).

Great service, we were sat right away for lunch and it seemed clean. Taste was good. Price was on par. I will return.

The last 2x I ordered I got mushy old noodles. I used to love this place. I had to dig out the mushy noodles and make my own pack of ramen.

My go-to is for sure the Spicy Tonkotsu but I've also enjoyed the Tan Tan (miso broth with spicy sweet ground pork). The Cream Cheese Wontons are to die for. They're only $3.99 and you get 5 pieces of these deep fried delicious bits, as well as a side of sweet chili sauce. If you're not feeling soup, I'd suggest the Karaage bowl (crunchy Japanese fried chicken on steamed rice topped with green onion, green onion and unagi (eel) sauce or the Pork Belly bowl (same as the Karaage bowl but with delicious, juicy pan fried pork belly). Staffing at lunch was on the light side, as it took quite a while to get the hostess/waitresses' attention so we could get seated, then some time to get our order in. Everything is plastic. This place must be the biggest contributor to the hundreds of miles of floating plastic in the Pacific Ocean. Took 20 minutes to get my food and I was only one other customer at 1 pm on a Thursday. Totally effed up my order. I made it dine in and it came out in a bag to go. Super salty kung pao chicken. Only flimsy plastic ware. All of this is BS. $15 for food I would not allow a dog to eat. After tasting everything in my order, all of it went in the trash can.

Talk about a mystery! My wife and I finally swung by for a kid-free Saturday date night, and honestly, we've been missing out. The Vibe & A Happy Surprise The atmosphere is so welcoming with plenty of seating, but take my advice: get there early! By 6:30 PM, the place was packed. As a wine lover, I was hit with a total "welcome shock." Usually, Thai spots stick to a basic beer list, but Sa-Wad-Dee has a fantastic wall of wine! Seeing a solid selection of bottles and glasses made me feel right at home. I grabbed a bottle of one of my favorite reds at a very reasonable price--definitely my kind of dinner. The Main Event The service was top-tier, super attentive, friendly, and just genuinely nice people. And the food? Not a single miss. * Drunken Noodles: Full of authentic, bold flavor. * Shrimp Curry: Absolutely fantastic. Final Thoughts If you're looking for excellent Thai in Meridian, don't hesitate. And if you love a good glass of red with your curry, this is officially your new favorite spot. We'll definitely be back (and won't wait another eight years this time!).
