Came around noon when they were just opening. There was only one other party dining so service was quick. There's a tablet on the table where you can place your orders. We quickly were served water. We got the dragon roll, spider roll and the popcorn lobster roll. Lots of big unagi pieces on the dragon roll! We also got the calamari tempura and the batter was well done. They gave us a fruit platter to finish off lunch which included some honeydew melon and watermelon.

We tried this place on Sunday lunch time.. as we enter no people eating I assume we are first customers. We were greeted friendly by a lady and a man on the food counter. We ordered calamari tempura ( just regular fried calamari)Nara sushi ( hmmm it's good) salmon roe (not so fresh) and sushi and sashimi combo-okay. Service is good.

I used my Uber Eats credit to order pick up from here via Uber Eats app. The entire process was easy and the ready for pick up time was accurate. I ordered the Chirashi (sashimi over sushi rice) and it came with miso soup and a salad. I liked the fish it was pretty good. The whole meal was super filing and I think a great deal for the price. I've dined in before and the service is excellent. Their bento box combos are a good deal too especially for lunch. I liked the Salmon Teriyaki and Crunch Roll.

This is our new favorite sushi restaurant, it was a great experience and family friendly! Everyone is very kind and welcoming, and the ambience is very traditional. The interior is focused and intimate, utilizing wood booths and panel walls creating a serene space that is almost ritualistic in a peaceful and unwinding way. The waitress was very Kind to us and the chef was prompt. On top of our orders, the chef brought out carved fruit for our kids twice! Before and after our meals. We thought this was such a great gesture and make the kiddos happy and feel special. The food was great! Love that they have a protein section using no rice to skip the carbs. Their toro was fantastic, and the chef even placed 24k gold flakes on top when he presented the dish. This was a great experience and we cannot wait to return and enjoy another wonderful experience! Highly recommend!

Mulhwe - have to ask for it since it's not on the menu!

Came here specifically because I saw someone ordered mulhwe here, so I was super excited to finally try it! As soon as we arrived, we were seated and I asked the server about the mulhwe. She had no idea what I was talking about, so I showed her a picture of the dish that the person I knew had ordered and even the name of the dish written down. She kept saying no and didn't even read or barely look at the photo! It seemed like she just didn't understand me and didn't even care to ask other people around. I am guessing she wasn't the owner because the other person who had been before had described the owners as so friendly and welcoming. It made me so mad that I drove 40 minutes here just for one dish and she couldn't even bother to TRY to help me! I settled on ordering a Poke Roll, and then I saw another younger server came in. I decided to give it another try and asked that girl instead, and she immediately knew what I was talking about and added it to our order without any issues!! I was happy that I got to finally get the dish but very turned off by how the first server treated us. The food came out looking very beautiful despite the otherwise average looking sushi restaurant interior. My mulhwe was delicious - a spicy cold noodle dish with sashimi and tons of fresh veggies. It was very refreshing! I loved the apples/pears inside and the avocado. So many different textures. It was loaded with salmon and tuna and squid. It was a huge portion, I'd recommend getting it for two people to share, with another dish! Otherwise the taste can get a bit tiresome for one person to finish entirely. The poke roll was also very good, loved the fresh fish on top and it was good quality. Even our kids ate their entire meal of teriyaki beef and gyoza! Despite the rocky start I'm glad that we finally got the dish we came here specifically for. It is a drive from home for us so I'm not sure I'd come out of my way again but it's a good option here in Folsom.

Very friendly service! Cute and cozy sushi spot with easy ordering. They have a tablet at the tables to make it easier to order from your table, which is nice to have if it gets busy. I ordered the Hawaiian Volcano, which was really good and kind of cool it came with flames. I highly recommend this place!

Solid Japanese food and good presentation. We came during a quiet dinner service and ordered several rolls and a couple of entrees. Overall the food looked nice and tasted good. We eat a lot of Japanese food and the food quality here was good. Place seemed to have plenty of seats

Came here for lunch today, quiet and clean place. The waitress was immediately attentive and lovely. There was a convenient option of ordering over table screen, we did that, so easy. They offer regular paper menus as well. The food was so amazing. They ended with a complimentary fruit platter at the end which is extremely fresh and delicious! The food is fresh and good as the photos show

    Surprise dessert for birthday!

The service was great! They also surprised me for my birthday, and unlike other places it had a candle! The food was also amazing! They had so much options! Also, my kids loved the Nemo fish ice cream! Another thing is that the environment is Japanese it also fits the food theme we love this place definitely going again! In addition the staff are great and friendly, wonderful service!

I've been to NARA SUSHI several times now and it's always awesome. Ambience great, service wonderful, personable and friendly ... but best of all is the amazing food. Fresh and delicious. And the presentation is so artistic and delicious. Introduced another friend to NARA SUSHI and halfway through a bite of food she had to stop to say a definite two thumbs up for her.

It's been a year since our last visit and we have a soft spot in our hearts for supporting family/small/local businesses in Folsom so we gave it another try. Sure glad we did as we've been back twice since. There's only 1 server but she holds the fort down well. We've branched out to try sushi rolls + sashimi and happy to say it's all yummy. The chefs gave us watermelon slices at the end of both visits here. Cherry (or watermelon) on top of satisfactory visits!

    Salmon nigiri- $8.99

This was genuinely DELICIOUS omg!!! The salmon was so fresh, thick and juicy- I mean wow. I was sucking my chopsticks dry for the last bits of flavor - SO GOOD!!

The staff are friendly, the restaurant is clean, I used their restroom and it's clean. I always do this coz this is really important to me. If they treat the restroom really good that says about the food they serve as well. Their decor is simply nice and beautiful as well. The menu offers a variety of delicious options, and not too pricey. However, I just learned about their AYCE sushi when I read the reviews the next day. Wish we had known before we ordered so that we can try it. We appreciate the experience, attentive service, and their high-quality food. They even put orchid flower on a couple of the plates we ordered as a decor. Some staff recommended for us trying the Chirashi Don bowl or innovative sushi rolls but we declined. Parking is free and ample. Next to Ranch 99 so you can go after you eat if you need to go groceries. Highly recommended.

The order was ready in about 15 minutes, as estimated. I ordered the Spicy Ramen, but skipped the egg and pork (and requested extra veggies in their place). They did seem to give extra veggies, and the bowl was loaded with spinach and mushroom slices, along with several fish cakes and peppers. The Ramen noodles were cooked well, and I enjoyed eating everything, except the broth itself (not much flavor, and salty, to my taste). My husband looked at photos here on Yelp, and found one labeled "Stir fried veggie udon". That isn't on the online menu, and when I tried to order it, I was told that it was Veggie Udon (which is usually cooked in broth) "stir-fried in Teriyaki sauce" (not on the menu). And indeed it was. He loved it. The Teriyaki sauce was not overly sweet (like many other places). The stir-fry was well done (not oily), with a very good selection of veggies, and some tofu. The veggies and noodles were cooked to perfection. It was a big hit for him. Prices were quite reasonable, and the few people I interacted with were very pleasant. It was a very nice lunch experience.

Taste is subjective, and what one person finds delicious, another may not. However, there are certain universal aspects of dining, such as customer service, cleanliness, communication, and overall hospitality, that every restaurant should strive to deliver. My reviews reflect the complete experience, not just what's on the plate. We decided to try Hasu Teriyaki & Sushi in Folsom for the first time and brought the kids along. Unfortunately, the experience got off to a rough start. When we walked in, there were several open tables, but no one greeted us or explained whether we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. A female employee saw us but didn't provide any direction, so we picked a table ourselves. After waiting for a bit with no acknowledgment, I had to get up and grab menus on my own. We spent about eight minutes deciding what to order (never easy with kids), but still no one came by. After another several minutes, I finally walked the few feet to the register and asked, "Are we supposed to order here or at the table?" The response was simply, "Yes, order here." After placing my order, I was immediately prompted to add a tip before receiving any service, which is something I personally find frustrating. Then I grabbed our cups to fill our drinks myself, only to find the ice machine was out of ice. At that point, it felt like we were striking out on every opportunity for a good first impression. It appears there's only one employee handling both the register and the dining area, which may explain some of the confusion. If that's the system, it would really help to have a sign letting customers know to seat themselves and order at the counter. There are only about seven tables inside, but without any guidance, the dining experience is confusing for first-time visitors. Once the food arrived, it was presented nicely. I ordered the Rainbow Roll and Dragon Roll, and visually they looked great. Unfortunately, I found the flavors to be underwhelming. The sushi was very mild, and even the wasabi had almost no heat. I added far more wasabi than I normally would, yet it barely had any kick. For someone who really enjoys sushi, the overall flavor just didn't stand out. The kids' non-raw rolls were also just average. To her credit, the employee did check on us twice after the food arrived, and she was friendly. I think she recognized that I was frustrated after spending roughly 15 minutes in the restaurant without any acknowledgment or explanation of how ordering worked. Overall, the experience wasn't terrible, but it wasn't one that makes me eager to return. Between the confusing service, lackluster first impression, and sushi that was simply average, I'd probably look elsewhere next time.
