Two times, we have gone with our kids when they were infants and toddlers. The staff was very kind and patient with them and found a place where we could all sit without waking the baby. I think we finally found a really good sushi place here in Folsom! It's been on our radar so we finally decided to try it I ordered the scorpion roll to go. Wait time was only about 15 minutes when I walked in there was a good amount of people eating so it's nice to know that on a Friday night people are still here. The moment I open that to go box the sushi roll was pleasantly colorful and organized well. I really like that they included all the condiments inside that to go box. My first bite was very delicious I tasted a lot of the fish versus rice which is always hard to find at certain places when the ratio isn't right. Service was 5 stars for me! So I read all the reviews and I was still unprepared for the experience. We opted to sit at the bar. Ordered edamame, soft crab, and miso soup. All were amazing. The owner was behind the bar too and took the time engage us. He bought us sake bombs, which were actually sooo good. My bf has very specific things he wants in his roll, to which they say "no problem, chef's special". The owner also came to sit with us and we talked for a while. I can't say enough great things about this place. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the whole thing was a 10/10. Looking around yelp for a great sushi place in my area and found this delightful restaurant. At first glance as we walked in it seemed like we might have not have good service, but staff quickly jumped in and our wonderful waitress Debbie, handed us menus. Debbie, took our orders and within minutes we received our meals. I ordered the crystal Shrimp roll (Crunchy Shrimp, cream cheese and spicy crab salad topped with avocado, sweet sauce, and spicy mayo) and it was delicious! I also have the miso soup, which was probably the best Misso soup I have had anywhere. Walked into the cool interior on a blistering hot day. Was warmly greeted, seated, and given a tall glass of water served in a metal cup, which kept it icy cold. We started with veggie tempura. If you like tempura, this is the place to be. A nice variety of vegetables served with a very light crispy batter. The perfect amount of crunch. I could've eaten a serving all of my own. Followed up with a light the beam roll and a sparky roll. Both were very good. I would prefer less sauce on my rolls, but it's just a personal preference. The ambience is nice, modern, clean, no frills with mix of pop and country music playing. The place was slower compared to the other places in Folsom we usually got to possibly due to it's location in the corner of small strip mall. The sushi was good but the rice tasted like it needed something. My yakisoba noodles with beef was a large portion but tasted so good I finished it off. My wife enjoyed her bento box. For their spicy tuna hand-roll, they actually used tuna chunks instead of ground up tuna. Ursula (5/5)- A very unique roll that's unique to this place. This roll is packed with flavor from the cilantro Pesto sauce they drizzle on top the baked salmon & spicy crab + rich cream cheese flavor mixed with spicy mayo and the avocado adds creaminess to the roll. Kamikaze (5/5) - Another saucy mouthful of a roll (spicy mayo + sweet sauce) topped with jalapeños, which gives it a nice spicy kick. This roll comes with torched shrimp, smoked salmon and albacore. King's roll (4/5) - a chef's special roll. It comes with spicy salmon, cucumber, soft shell crap, albacore, tuna with tobiko sauce. This roll actually had a Strong tempura flavor, despite not having any tempura inside. Spider Roll (2/5) - this was plain almost like a regular California roll. It's supposed to be soft shell crab topped with daikon, green onion and masago. I think they forgot the green onions on our order. Salmon skin salad (2/5) - salmon skin was soggy because it's served on a bed of seaweed salad. Would not get again as it's not worth $9. Lion King Roll (3/5) - A baked roll of smoked salmon with crab salad. It's good, but tastes just like plain baked salmon for the most part Garlic Edamame (5/5) - Very flavorful; strong garlic flavor with a nice charcoal/smokiness to it. Minus 1 star mainly because the rice they use was too sticky and not very formed. The rolls easily broke apart when we tried to pick up with chopsticks. Will definitely be back!!! read more

This has been our go to sushi spot ever since they changed owners. Service is welcoming, food is fantastic and you can't go wrong with ordering a beer that's now served in a chilled glass. We especially love the rolls. It's meat packed with just the right amount of rice. And for us ladies, the rolls are large but not gigantic, so you do not look like slob eating. TAIKO SUSHI IS TOP NOTCH Our family gathered together in the afternoon on Christmas Eve. As dinnertime approached, we thought it would be great to have a sushi dinner and started searching for a Japanese restaurant that was open and able to accommodate our party of seven adults on such short notice. Finally found space available at Taiko Sushi and made our way there. After we arrived, we felt the service was slow; our server let us know one of their chefs had a baby earlier in the day so they were understandably short-staffed. Our orders were going to take at least half an hour longer than usual as a result. Despite this delay, we still felt lucky to find a place to accommodate all of us during a major holiday and thanked our server for being so transparent with us. The staff went completely out of their way while we waited. We were offered miso soup, blue fin tuna sashimi along with other wonderful dishes along with beer and sake, all on the house. Chef Bell, one of the owners, introduced himself and was especially gracious and generous with our party. The time flew by and when our food arrived it was absolutely delicious. The Holidays are a time when everyone yearns to be with family and friends. We arrived at Taiko Sushi as strangers, but because of the incredible hospitality from Chef Bell and his staff we left as family! read more
