As soon as i wasked in i was greeted with a smile and the waiter placed me at a table of my choice. She recommended some delicious options. I had the houston roll, it was fried sushi! So delicious. I also had the pork ramen from the hspoy hour menu and the spring rolls. Everything was hot snd fresh. I will definitely return here!

I tried the yummy chicken bowl, which was decent, but the chicken chashu just tasted like grilled chicken with not much additional flavor or seasoning added on. The main flavor for the rice bowl is the "spicy aroma sauce", which they don't tell you what's inside it. For the sushi, I ordered both the caterpillar roll and spider roll. The spider roll was pretty good, with good high-quality soft shell crab portions, but for the caterpillar roll, the eel portion on each roll piece was very small, and it was also doused so heavily in soy sauce that it was hard to taste anything else. Overall the restaurant is nice and clean inside, and everyone is super friendly, so I'm hoping for the best and hopefully they can improve some of their food offerings in the future!

Located on an old area, the exterior isn't eye-catching but the interior is clean and beautifully renovated. The restaurant is of a good size to accommodate big groups. I was greeted warmly by the staff upon entering the restaurant. The menu was simple but had the essential food choices that any Japanese restaurant would have. I had the Tonkatsu black garlic ramen, karage chicken, salmon sashimi, sashimi roll, and skydiver roll. The karage chicken was a little dry. The ramen's broth needed more flavor depth but the noodles were good. The raw food was fresh. The sashimi roll was interesting. The individual pieces were wrapped in rice paper. It was difficult to pick up the individual pieces because they were placed too close to each other, and they stuck together because of the rice paper. So I ended up eating the small pieces of raw fish without the rice paper. Overall the food was good.

Amazing hole-in-the-wall ramen joint. Having tried many authentic ramens, the broth was so smooth and flavorful. I was a big fan of the noodle texture and we devoured the kani salads. The waitress was so delightful and grateful for us eating there, not shying away from encouraging me to drink another beer because of their happy hour. Great service, really calm atmosphere, authentic and tasty food, good value especially at happy hour. (Monday - Friday, 12-4pm)

We finally tried the sushi here and love it! Their salmon hand rolls are so fresh and super good. Their hand rolls aren't on the menu, so all I did was ask for the salmon roll to be served as a hand roll and it was not a problem. We have tried quite a few rolls and all of them are so fresh and tasty. We particularly love the sunshine California roll which is an updated take on a classic. This place is one of my top restaurants in Houston. You can't go wrong with the ramen or the sushi.

This was such an amazing spot. It's a cute hole in the wall, ducked off. I just so happen to drive by and drop in for lunch during their Happy Hour. Lucy came swiftly to serve me and was very kind. The food was delicious. I got the Yummy Chicken Ramen, Seaweed Salad and Shaggy Dog Roll. And I let her know it was my birthday and she surprised me with some Mochi. I definitely will be coming back here.

We were craving for ramen noodles so we tried this place. So glad we did! The server Lucy warmly welcomed us. I got the spicy miso ramen which had a tasty savory flavor.Hubby got the black garlic tonkotsu ramen which had a rich creamy broth. Both ramen had a good portion of noodles and toppings. The soft boiled egg was perfectly seasoned. You can really taste the "char" in the charshiu roasted pork. So yummy! We really enjoyed the delicious ramen. Lucy said that it takes almost a day to make their broth and it shows in the complex flavors. We also tried the spider roll, tiger eye roll and crazy roll. The spider roll had a good amount of soft shell crab and was our favorite. We will come back and try other sushi rolls. Loved the ambiance with the cool decor and music. The best part is the prices are very reasonable. I hope they last long so please try them. You won't be disappointed.

The place is very nice and very modern and very clean! We went and ordered 3 rolls on a deal they have on their menu and it was extremely affordable but also extremely tasty. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Me and my gf loved this place, highly recommend

Omg you must go and support this spot!! I want them to last! Everything we had was SO good. The New Orleans roll was delicious, fantastic prices for sushi and really good quality and attention to detail and the staff is really friendly. We liked the atmosphere too (I love a place with no TV's!) We will definitely be back. The shrimp ramen was really good too!

I was very surprised. And my broth was so delicious. It had such a rich umami flavor due to the miso & I thought the spice level was perfect. Honestly - I could eat jhst that broth for a whole meal. Unlike buldak or some other spicy ramens - the main selling point wasn't the spice. You could get an additional "spice bomb" if you wanted some more heat. The ramen toppings were good but not outstanding - same with the noodles. I thought the "mi-so-hot" was easily 3x better than "the og". The broth in "the og" was pretty interesting and more unique tasting. It felt like the main notes were just umami, pork, and oil. Not bad, but felt like it was missing a little something to make it truly good. If I had just got the OG, I'd rate this place a bit lower - but as it stands I'd 100% come back here for the "mi-so-hot" The interior was pretty nice. It was more "communal style seating" with a couple of big tables. There is also some smaller booths. It's an "order at the counter" type restaurant as well. I saw several comments about parking & was a bit concerned when driving over. I know that part of westheimer is always packed! But there is an attached parking lot & at 3pm on a Sunday, there was plenty of parking! Also - there is some street parking in the neighborhood north of the shop. Overall - will 100% be coming back for some more spicy ramen. Would recommend

Sushi Flight (6 Pieces, 4 Flavors) - Somehow 1,050 calories??? - Raw Salmon x2 - Strangely, I would have liked this colder. It was just okay. - Cooked Salmon x2 - I liked this a lot more than the raw salmon because it had a deeper flavor. - Scallops - Probably my favorite thing on this platter because of the smokiness they imbue with the torching. The sweet aftertaste was definitely worthwhile. - Shrimp - Not as fresh as I would have liked, as someone who's eaten a lot of shrimp, but I still liked the taste. Still, pretty mediocre. Tantan Tsukemen - Very interesting broth. Potent, salty, and full of bold flavor. My friend swapped the pork for chicken, and the chicken worked really well with the broth. They serve the chicken as a cold cut. This is a double-noodle dish with a soy milk-based dipping sauce. I normally would have ordered this because I LOVE tantan ramen, but I had to forgo it for the limited-time Creamy Truffle Ramen. Creamy Truffle Ramen - LOVED the broth. It was very light and creamy. I actually liked this a lot more than tonkotsu ramen. The truffle wasn't too overwhelming--just mild enough to hint at its flavor without becoming the only flavor profile you get. Truffle is like baking with rose water; finding that balance is quite hard. I will admit the whole table smelled like truffles, though. The torched king oyster mushroom paired wonderfully with the dish, and the broccolini was an equally interesting topping choice. I also found bits of melted Parmesan throughout the ramen, which the menu listed as an ingredient. The egg wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was still a decent soy egg. As I kept eating, the truffle oil became more intense, and the fattiness started to get a bit overwhelming without washing it down with water. Great flavor overall, but I think this dish is best paired with an appetizer to help cut through the richness. One of my favorite things about this place, which my BF mentioned, was the noodle texture. I noticed it too as I ate--a good bite with a slick texture that was just starchy enough to cling to the broth. We had leftover noodles from the Tantan Tsukemen at the end of the meal and ended up using the Creamy Truffle broth as a dipping sauce. Honestly, no regrets. The cold noodles didn't work quite as well in this dish, but the broth was definitely a banger. This was also the first ramen broth I couldn't finish but desperately wanted to bring home. (Obviously, I did.) Their to-go containers are surprisingly sleek, too. It's a weird thing to compliment, but I almost wanted to keep the container as much as the broth. Special comment on the utensils here--the soup spoons are ridiculously cute! Would love to have a similar set at home. Overall, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was thoughtful. The music wasn't too loud, and it wasn't that crowded for a Saturday night. They do play a lot of popular Japanese songs, so if you're an international music enthusiast, you'll appreciate hearing "Mayonaka no Door" by Miki Matsubara.

One waitress served everyone in the restaurant while I was there. She was speedy in taking and delivering orders. She seemed very nice! Food: ordered Tonkotsu Gachi and my mom ordered the yuzu. Food arrived very quickly, though we ordered no appetizers. The tonkotsu broth was rich and velvety in texture, but more like a mild umami in flavor. The chashu pork was pale, but melt in your mouth buttery and bursting with savory pork goodness! The marinated egg wasn't brought up to temperature with the broth -- a little cooler than room temperature, with a medium oozy yolk. It felt like the marinade penetrated all through to the yolk -- it was great! I welcomed the novel choice to use red onion over the usual scallions. It was a nice touch of color and brought in that bright, juicy onion flavor that I crave. Noodles were perfect texture. Not too hard or mushy. This bowl feels made to focus on the broth and flavor and not so much an instagram post. Delicious!! My only complaint was a very very very slight bitterness in the background. I couldn't pin where it was coming from. Maybe that's a risk of simmering bones for so long. I'll keep this short because I couldn't just eat my moms bowl... The Yuzu shio broth was clearer, with bright, citrusy, and savory body. The bamboo shoots were golden (grilled?) with a little snap to it. Reminds me of a king oyster mushroom. This is really a unique broth and I haven't had anything like it. You should definitely try it! Restaurant: clean, neat, every table literally has its place /orientation. Deep wood furniture, honeyed lighting, and dark window shades give the restaurant a cozy chic ambience despite visiting around noon. Good food, great service. Great prices. Large portions.
