COFFEE AS IT WAS MEANT TO BE! I was eagerly awaiting the opening of a new coffee shop in Mercato and this place did not disappoint! The moment I stepped foot inside I was instantly impressed by the beautiful design. Me and my wife love to travel and visit coffee shops wherever we go and the aesthetic of this place is definitely our new favorite (if you haven't been, you have to check out the awesome neon sign hanging in front of a moss backdrop). After taking in the design, I approached the counter to order and was welcomed by their very friendly staff (despite the masks you could still tell they were smiling). I have to admit I have now been in many times and have tried their regular latte, iced latte, drip coffee (made from the cyclops - the first maker of its kind in the state of FL) cold brew, and a pour over and each one was absolutely perfect. I had the opportunity to speak with one of the owners and I was impressed by his passion to bring the very best coffee toSouthwest Florida through their selection of beans, to their roasting process, to the modern equipment and attention to detail during extraction! my review is based on a single espresso i tried. it's terrible. watery, sour-ish , and even with with two packs of sugar not drinkable. i'm from south florida and usually have an espresso after each meal so i've sampled a bit and this is the worst i tried. after reading all the reviews i'd maybe try a full drink but definitely never trying an espresso here again. attention was fine and place looked fine read more

Narrative Coffee is my go-to coffee house in North Naples. I prefer to support the independent mom-n-pop business over corporate any day. Naples is over saturated with big box establishments, so it is refreshing to have this locally owned and run Coffee Co conveniently located at Mercato. Narrative keeps it simple and they do it well. Their minimalist menu is wonderful. The coffee is strong and extremely satisfying. The atmosphere is clean, modern, comfortable, welcoming and well lit. Staff is pleasant and helpful. I love magazines so I was delighted they sell a beautiful stylish print magazine about coffee culture. It's fun to look whilst sipping your coffee and a great alternative to staring at your phone. Love this place. Love the employees. Love the vibe. Love the coffee. Kinda wish they had just a few more options in terms of small bites but besides that I do dig the menu. I usually stick with iced drinks because of the weather. Their syrups are great. The drinks are always consistent and the decor is top notch. I do not have the most refined palate in the world, but this was the most amazing drip coffee I have ever had. That coupled with a delicious guava pastry made the perfect treat! I travel to Naples usually once per year around the holidays when visiting family. I have yet to find a decent matcha latte until last year when I came across Narrative. I was pretty impressed and happy to have found this spot. This year upon arriving in Naples I made it a point to stop here specifically for their matcha. I drove 20 minutes from where I was staying and waited 20 minutes in line to be told they couldn't do matcha right now because they were behind on other drinks. They tried to get me to order a chai latte instead. I said no, I came for your matcha and again was told they didn't have time to make it. Not that they didn't have it in stock but essentially they didn't want to make it because it takes too long. So I basically spent 40 minutes of my day trying to get to Narrative and then was turned away. I'm very disappointed in the customer service and if you are unable to fulfill customer requests and make a drink then take it off of the menu. I even offered to wait until it was less busy and was told no. Suffice to say I will not be patronizing this place in the future when I am in town and they need to reconsider how they handle customers even if they are busy. read more

Finally... All I can say is--finally... a legit coffee shop in Naples. Every day... I mean err day they offer several on the spot pour over option. I ordered the "the Kenyan". It came highly recommended from the young tattooed man behind the counter. Solid dude. He waxed poetic about its notes of white wine and apricot. Not sure what any of that meant but boy howdy did I enjoy my white wine apricot flavored Kenyan pour over. He guided me through this journey. My Samwise to his Mr. Frodo. When one walks into this place there is a real sense of it being well thought through, clean, and full of what I want... knowledgeable employees. I also appreciated that (1) I was asked for here or to go. Then given the appropriate cup and (2) the young tattooed fellow (Mr. Gamgee) took the time to warm my cup. I absolutely hate when I order a Starbucks for "here" only to have it drop 80 degrees because they didn't warm the cup. One last point. I preface by saying, I'm not that old. Yet, I could have handled the music being a bit softer. I've been to this place three times now. Although, I like the music they play, I did find it difficult to have a meeting here as a result of the volume. Just a thought. read more
