The electronics were slightly dated, but the apartment smelled very fresh and overall gave a very homey, rustic vibe. There were two bedrooms (one had a king sized bed and one had two double beds), two bathrooms (one had a jacuzzi), a kitchen, and living room with a dining table. The toilet bowl in one of the bathrooms was stained, but it was a minor matter since everything was clean. This community IS called a resort, and I agree that it is a bit misleading, BUT they do have a pool and game/activity room in the main office. We were still blown away by the comfort and cleanliness of our apartment, and will definitely stay here again when visiting Acadia!

I had a minor meltdown upon check-in bc it appeared they had given our room to someone else and we called to complain to the manager, Josh, who upgraded us and was SO nice. Our new room was beautiful in the main building with a gorgeous view of the water. They had a welcome card for me and chocolates and a small gift for my birthday. We were impressed with everything here. Staff were friendly. Rooms are beautiful and well-appointed and comfortable and upgraded. Room cleaning was prompt and efficient (they were in and out within an hour of our walking out every day). Their lobby has games to play, newspapers, and 24/7 access to hot chocolate, fresh coffee, and fresh water and sparkling water on tap as well as a nice business center/printer computer. The women's restroom even had personal items out if you needed them. The rooms are unique and the architecture is different. Very charming hotel in a very charming town. The included continental breakfast was one of the nicest I've had included in a room charge in a long time. Large selection of fresh pastries, hot items, cold items, coffee, juice and tea as well as fruits always being replenished with care and attention. We enjoyed everything about this hotel. Despite it being a weekday the bill was $343.35 as the tourist season had started. We had a rented a vehicle and the Bar Harbor Hampton was priced even higher than this one. We choose Hamptons because of the Hilton ownership oversight, although individually they are privately managed so quality will vary. We came from Minnesota an had just spent three nights at the Portland Downtown-Waterfront Hampton and were in Bar Harbor for a cruise and to check out Arcadia National Park. As it turns out we should have spent the three nights here and just one at the sketchy Portland Hampton. My girlfriend's daughter insists on separate beds for all of us. One great thing about Hamptons is that a rollaway bed added to a double queen room is not an issue, although the quality of the bed itself varies greatly by location. Here our requested rollaway was waiting for us with linens and pillows, and it was a decent one unlike the broken one we got in Portland that also didn't have a pillow or top sheet. My girlfriend actually commented on how nice the room was, a rare nod of approval as we are both a bit cynical. The thermostat had its own remote, the Hilton app actually worked on the TV if I remember right, there was an ice bucket and even a couple mini recycling bins. The view was just the local shopping mall, but that's not what we got the room for. One slight disappointment was being refused the token Hilton Silver Level membership benefit of free bottles of water on arrival. Maybe this isn't a 'select' Hampton. The workout room here was large and modern, unlike many Hampton workout rooms. The pool was also well kept. The normally no frills Hampton breakfast was way above par at this property. There was an abundance of choices and healthy options in bakery, hot and cold items, fresh fruit, toppings, and beverages. This included dairy free and gluten free options like Silk almond milk and Udi's gluten free muffins. See the image postings. This was an especially welcome sight after the sparse Portland Hampton breakfast bar of the previous three days. A surprising discovery I got on checking out the lobby after unpacking was the 'Iced Coffee Bar'. The receptionist told us they were the only Hampton to have one. It had a nice sign, coffee container, a dozen Monin syrups, creamer, ice bucket, cups, stir sticks, and napkins. See the image posting. My girlfriend and daughter planned to try it before we left early the next morning as I had understood from the receptionist it was available 24 hours. Unfortunately, it was taken down during breakfast. I'm not sure the girls even saw it. Other then missing out on the Iced Coffee Bar and not getting the token Hampton Silver Membership bottled water perk, this may have been our best Hampton stay of the dozen or so different Hampton properties we have tried. It should be the textbook model in management for other Hamptons to follow.

The Inn itself is quaint and historic and the perfect location for an event or a group getaway. It is right next to the water and just beautiful. There are canoes to use as well as games and books inside. They are also just great restaurant and bar as well, with amazing specialty drinks and an eclectic collection of local beer and IPAs on tap. I highly recommend this place for your summer or fall getaway. I know we'll be back.

At the very end of the meal, roughly an hour later, with half finished plates, the Owner (wearing sweat pants) asked how everything was. He missed the silence and half eaten food. We thought he might have noticed that it may not have been the spectacular, or even moderately good experience that you venture out for. We were left with the feeling that there may have been a time when this was a special place, where you took someone for a special experience. The grounds were beautiful and can host large parties and everything is within walking distance. Not sure I would stay here again because it was an ok stay.

First of all - service was great. We were getting in later than what we thought, around 9:30 or so, but that was no issue for them. They were there to meet us as soon as we got in! I was also able to buy a national park pass, forward it on to them to print for me so we could get hiking early in the morning! There were four of us in two separate rooms. Our first night both of us couples were in the Acadia Cottage. This was a cute cottage with I believe 4 rooms. Both of our rooms were very spacious! My only complaint with the room was that there was not enough lighting in the bathroom. There was only one small overhead light that did not provide enough light - especially in the shower area. I also appreciated that there was a small fridge in the common area of this house that could be shared among the 4 rooms in this building. Made it great for us since we like to fix our lunches when traveling! On the second night, one of us was in a garden cottage (on its own! very quiet and nice) and one of us was in the main house on the top floor. After getting to see and stay in different rooms, I would probably not stay in the main house again. It can get noisy with people coming and going at different hours to go on different tours. Also, the layout is not as spacious as the other rooms - some awkward layouts. Breakfast was lovely! They fixed a different meal each time. The only con, is if you do not like something, you will have to go somewhere else because not much else is offered other than the main fixing. For example, one morning was corn beef and hash. No thanks, so I ended up having oatmeal. Not much else for me. The only other thing I would suggest to the Inn is that they fix their ability to multi book a room. It was a pain to book. We booked the 4 last rooms on these two nights. Because we were changing rooms, I could not book different rooms all at once. I had to individually book every room. So it was a little time consuming and mundane. Would have been nice if I could have added all 4 rooms into a "cart" and then checked out. Definitely recommend this place, but if you are a light sleeper and want room, be careful on the room you pick to stay in.
