This was the first time my wife and I had been to Bar Harbor and staying here was a great idea. Splurge for the ocean front spots if available! I'm glad my wife insisted. The views are insane nice! We're not ones to really care about all the amenities, a nice area is most important, so I can't comment on the pool or recreation hall or kid friendliness. But we do bring are three pugs with us on all vacations and this park gets five stars for dog friendliness! It's plenty large for nice short dog walks with grassy areas along the way. A dog park would make it perfect... Not sure about the bathrooms/ showers we don't use them. The pool looked well kept and water temp felt ok. They also have beach access for kayaks, or swimming. They also have a few kayaks to rent, they have a rule you need to start two hours before high tide and be back within three hours total. The staff were helpful and you don't see them too much, which is nice. The only thing I didn't love about the week we spent here was the price of the oceanfront spots But hey, ya get what ya pay for!! Id read more

Campground was ok. Sites are large enough and close to the water. My complaint comes from how I was treated when forced to leave early for a death in the family. We booked 5 weeks here and had to leave two weeks early unfortunately to attend a funeral. When I spoke to the lady at the front desk, she was very sympathetic and understanding and said she would talk to the manager about a refund. The manager a week later let me know that they couldn't refund any of my nights. Even though they are currently renting out the site I already paid for! I think it's ridiculous that they couldn't make an exception for a death. It's not like we just chose to leave early. A little sympathy and help would have been nice. read more

We just got back from a 9 day stay at Narrows Too Campground. I could write a book on how gorgeous this place really is. From the time we checked in until the day we left..I have nothing but absolutely positive things to say about this place. We traveled in a travel trailer and had one of the more expensive sites on the water. We did book this site a year in advance. We were so happy we stayed on the water. We were literally steps down a hill to the ocean where we parked our canoe for the entire stay. The site is huge!! Plenty of space and no trouble backing our camper in at all. I also noticed HUGE rigs backing their bus size campers in with a lot of ease! We had site 314 and there were plent of trees between both sides of us to not even see our neighbors. Mostly the neighbors were never home anyways considering we are so close to Acadia Nat. Park. The staff upon check in were very nice..and had me checked in within 2 minutes! They give you a very huge welcome packet with even coupons in it. I cannot stress how clean this place is. The bathrooms were always stocked with papertowels and hand soap. There is even a hand soap container hung down lower for the kids to wash their hands! The bathrooms are spread out pretty evenly, too. The showers are huge!! Super clean, too. They have only one pool, but it's heated. We even went in it when it was only 60 degrees out..the water was nice and warm! We loved it. There weren't too many children around..which we loved considering we dont' have any kids and it was nice and quiet. I'm not too sure this is the place you would want to bring a family. There are no activities and there's really nothing for them to do. There was a playground but it really had only one thing at it. They also have cabins here if you do not have a camper and they were booked solid for the week and very nice. I liked how there were about 6 very cute cabins in a semi-circle and then right in the middle they had a huge cement block fire ring for everyone in the cabins to sit around. I think it's a great way to meet everyone at the campground!! They did have an ice-cream social on Wed. night..We didn't go because we forgot about it. On Thursday night "ELVIS" was there..I'm not sure how that was either..We didn't go to that either. Who wants to leave an ocean-view site with a nice roaring fire..Not me! They also have two laundry rooms that were very clean also! We had a problem with our sewer in our camper and maintenance came right down within minutes to help us! They went above and beyond at this campground. The only one bad thing I can think of is the wi-fi that's advertised..they don't let you know you have to pay for it! I paid 14.95 to have wifi for one week.. I would love to go back to this place..#1 campground on my list as of now..You will not regret it!! Also, we did go to a few restaurants in the area..two places not to go are the Maine Luau and Konas. They were both really bad. I actually returned my food at Konas it was so disugsting! So, I hate camping. But I LOVED this campsite! There are cabins and cottages with running water, places to park your RV, very clean communal showers and bathrooms, fire pits. Oh, and BEAUTIFUL water views! We showed up at the site around midnight and were wondering how we would get into our cabin. Everything was prepared in a sealed package in a pre-specified location! Just the perfect place for me to start developing a love for the outdoors! :) read more

Narrows Too is actually quite nice. We got a very reasonable deal through LivingSocial and were quite pleased by our quaint little cabin. The bathrooms, though not attached, were well-maintained, and the showers were clean, private, and with good water pressure. So why only 3 stars? The thing I wish I would have known in advance: ~Though they advertise to "bring your own linens," which I've received as instruction before, they should have been more specific. To me, "bring linens" means "bring the things that need laundering" - bring fitted sheet, bring top sheet, bring pillow cases, bring towels (in past cabin-camping experiences, that is what this has meant, too). But they had *nothing.* No pillows, no blankets, either. I have never been more thankful to find a walmart in my life (open til midnight about 10 minutes away). The website could definitely stand to be clearer in this regard, as whatever money we saved on lodging then got spent on sleeping bags and pillows. Save for this pretty massive snag, we were otherwise very satisfied with our stay. read more

Very low water pressure, we were limited to certain sites that we could use our memberships and not told this until we arrived. Sites are small that we had to chose from and not every big rig friendly. Wish we would have looked at some of the other parks before we booked here because of course no refunds... read more

We had to switch campgrounds last minute before our trip up here from Massachusetts, so we weren't expecting much. However, we fell in love with this campground day one! The sites aren't much but they are roomy. The pool is immaculate, the staff are friendly, and the campground itself is clean and walkable. The views along the ocean are to die for and walking around at low tide is a blast. The sunrise can be seen from the boat ramp and it's incredible. Every evening there are kids riding their bikes into the night, friendly people walking their dogs, and groups of people sitting out enjoying a fire and the company. It's what camping is all about, really. This place feels like home and is so warm and inviting. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. read more

We took a tour of the Bar Harbor area via the free bus service which was offered and had a look at other RV sites...we feel we hit a home run with this place. Spacious and quiet with beautiful views of the water. We were a bit close to RT 3 so there is a constant traffic noise and we're right near the airport so there's the occasional bi-plane and small jet, which being from NYC we could ignore. The areas is awesome, the free buses really come in handy. Very open and spacious sites and we're definitely coming back. read more

The Campgrounds along the water had a gorgeous view and were nicely shaded from the summer heat. The pool wasn't too cold and a nice size. The bus was free and conveniently picked you up directly in front of check-in. The ride into the quaint downtown area was long, but scenic. It was my first time in an RV Campground, because we rented our RV, and it was the most fun we had camping yet. The staff was patient, kind, informative, and so helpful they even directed us on how to properly use our hook-ups. I believe the two staff members were Carol and Doug, and we hope they are there next year when we come back to visit! read more

Park was ok and the view was nice but there is little, to nothing, to do for kids -not even a playground. While I washing the bugs off of my windshield, I was told by an employee that "it is against the rules to wash RV's. It's on the paperwork" when I said I'm wiping bugs off of my windshield, and she said, "even washing your windshield; we all have to follow the rules" which although absurd, is the owners prerogative. She could have left it at that, but then proceeded to make up that there is a "water shortage" and "increased regulations because we are by the water" I'm fairly certain it had nothing to do with my Trump license plate but who knows. It just seemed odd that she looked down at my plate before the "we all have to follow the rules" comment. I continued to wipe the bugs off of my plate and then sat down by the campfire to write this review. We only had one more night here anyway but decided to head out in the morning, a day early to be on our way because her camper is directly across from us so we felt uncomfortable to stay. No reason to ask for a refund based on other reviews of no refunds and rude staff. read more

In Narrows Too they do not, when we can not even walk outside the rv without getting barked at or even lunged at by someone's dog and staff has no place in the park that does not have dogs then what are we to do? That does not make for an enjoyable stay anywhere. Your team was treated with more courtesy than we your guests were and if we had not paid in advance and were not refused a refund for the balance of our stay we would have pulled up and left the second day. We have been here several times now, and each and every time, everything is just perfect. We have tried sites up by the pool, in the middle section, and the secluded spots that are just perfect for a family. This is a great RV campground. We explained our site requirements to the reservationist and they set us up with a great site. Many sites have fantastic views of the water. The showers/bathrooms were clean, nicely appointed and close to most sites. The office/store staff couldn't do enough for us. Talk about service - We needed to get a watch battery replaced. The desk agent went online, found a local jeweler. She even called to find out their hours and whether we could wait for it. The camp staff were always available - We were relaxing at our campsite one afternoon and a groundskeeper stopped to notify us the weather might turn windy later on and we might want to retract our awning. We met wonderful, friendly campers all week long. We would definitely recommend Narrows Too to anyone camping in the MDI area. Close enough to all the activities on the Island but far enough to feel like you are really camping in Maine. Great time. read more

It's basically a large parking lot with no trees and it costs $75 per night. There is nothing to do other than a swimming pool, but that closes at 6 p.m. Staff were not helpful when I inquired about whale watches. It's at least a 20-minute drive by car into the town of Bar Harbor; too far to hop on bicycles to ride into town. There are about 8-10 waterfront sites that have a pretty view, but those were booked. That's about all I can say was nice about the place. I certainly wouldn't call this a "resort." read more
