Fresh food and huge variety. Good for meat eaters and vegetarians! Love their crispy sesame tofu!

I like it. It's the best cafeteria on campus. The grill is particularly good, especially if sooki is there.

This place is a hidden gem! Everything we ordered was amazing. We ordered close to closing time…read morewithout realizing it, but the food still came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The wings were delicious. I tried the sweet and spicy sesame flavor. It leaned more sweet than spicy, but the flavor was so good. The salad was incredibly fresh. I'm usually not a fan of kale salads, but the blend was amazing, and the salmon was perfectly seasoned. The sliders were also a standout! Cooked medium well and absolutely perfect. The sweet potato fries had the perfect amount of crunch. We visited on a Monday night, so it was nice and quiet. Food was also served quickly . The restaurant itself has a really nice atmosphere, and parking is validated, which is a plus. Definitely will be back!

The crab cakes were very small, and the salmon was about the size of a small block. Even the side of spinach was served in a bowl that wasn't even filled. The wait time didn't help either--it took about 30 minutes for my salmon to arrive. After finishing my meal, I was still hungry and ended up looking for another place to eat. I really wanted to enjoy the experience, but it just didn't meet my expectations, especially for the price.

Great smash burger! Would easily return, hands down. Pricey but what isn't nowadays…read more The bacon akh is really good! Great size. Great flavor. No complaints. Easily would get that again. Cajun fries were good but for the price, they for SURE need to double the quantity. Crazy how few fries they gave. Cookie Butter Milkshake was really good! Very sweet but a solid shake.

Smash Akhs is a very good smash burger experience from a food truck. One of the best smash burgers…read morein the region. The burgers are always fresh, hot, juicy, and made to order. I appreciate the packaging and presentation of their burgers which is always professional consistent. The Bacon Double (beef bacon) is excellent accompanied by the Akh Sauce. The Cajun Fries are delicious, however, the cook is too inconsistent. At times, the fries are over fried. Crinkle cut fries are unforgiving, so even a few extra seconds in the fryer and you're dealing with more crunch than crisp. For the price and that reason, I simply stay away from the fries. The flavor is excellent, but the execution is too much of a risk. The milkshakes are also delicious, however, these aren't your conventional ice cream shakes. They are more on the creamy and airy side. I've tried a few and although delicious, the ingredient ratios seem off and the creamy texture and whipped cream leans too close to a frothy mix. The mocktail mojitos are delicious and refreshing. The customer service is OK. RECOMMENDATION: Order ahead at least 20 minutes in advance and especially on Fridays and Saturdays when they are busier. There were times when they were understaffed and ordering in-person was over a 40 minutes wait.

This review is for the food not the service…read more The interior gives off a nice vibe and they have a set up for a live band. I'm sure when it's peak time it's live in there so I'll have to come back for an event. Went around noon on a Sunday and it was fairly empty so we sat at the bar and were serviced immediately. Strawberry lemon drop - 10/10 - I love a good lemon drop but a I'll never pass up a flavored one. No notes. Shrimp & Grits - 5/10 - don't get me wrong it was GOOD but it was too rich/cheesy to me. I don't know what I was expecting in terms of cheese but I've never had soooooo much cheese in an order of shrimp and grits. I legit pulled a mound of cheese off the top and it was still too much. I couldn't finish this unfortunately, even taking them home for another day didn't work because I couldn't take the richness. Not a slight to them, just a no for me. There was a great amount of shrimp in the dish and the consistency of the grifts were amazing. Just need something to cut through the richness. My friend had: Omelette - 10/10 - said they enjoyed it and would get it again Side of bacon - 10/10 - you got 6 pieces with the order and that was solid to me. I'd definitely come back and try something else on their brunch menu if given the chance. It's a bit out the way so I couldn't see myself traveling for it but if I was in the area I definitely would come back.

Decided to spend Thanksgiving Eve at Sobe's. We met @ 6am, which was free to get in for happy hour…read more Happy Hour was DRY. lol. Just one other group of me, maybe some jazz music in the background, while we watched Basketball on the screen Best part about SOBEs was Mrs. Elaine, the bartendar. I would rate the food a 2.5/5. I had the shrimp tacos, which lacked flavor. The shrimp was bland. The Bang Bang shrimp was lacked flavor also. We barely touched these, so disappointing. People started showing up @ 7pm. which was $20 to get in. An AMAZING live cover band played at 9pm. By 7:45 pm, there was also a live DJ playing classic hip hop and RnB. That was such a VIBE! The crowd got really thick for the band, you literally had to push your way to the bathrooms. Bathrooms also need napkins to dry your hands with, instead of the nasty air hand dryers

We walked in and shared a table with another family that was waiting. You have to order your food at the counter and wait. We decided to eat in. We ordered an omelet with hash browns, cheesy grits, 3 ordered of pancakes, 2 eggs with 4 orders of bacon. I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone enjoyed their food from the pregnant mom to the picky toddler. My husband said the omelette was nice and fluffy and filled well. With drinks, this ran us about $68. I will be returning.

Talk about bad food. This place use to be good several years…read moreago but those days are long gone. A completely different look on the inside. Gone are the blue walls and no more of the carry out feel. I remember this place had some of best bacon but you can tell the quality of food has gone out the window. I walked in and was greeted by a guy taking orders. His customer service skills were good. That was the only reason for the 2 stars. I ordered the wings and waffle, Belgian waffle and breakfast platter along with 2 drinks for $42 bucks. Not too bad. We sat at a table and the food came. Once again, the guy at the counter was great. He made sure to bring over our waffles while they were hot. That was the only part of the food that was good/decent, hence the second star. The rest is poor quality and belongs in the trash. The eggs were not real and god awful. The 8 wingettes came straight out of a freezer bag/ air fryer. TRASH. The bacon was fresh out of the microwave. I'll never ever come back. The food is that bad. If there was anyone standing outside needing food I would have happily given it to them. This place has fallen off a cliff hence the empty parking lot. It is a hard no for me.

We stopped by the cafe for a couple of beers before heading back to our part of MD. I think we originally wanted to have a meal there, but the patio was full so we went to another location for lunch. I thought New Deal Cafe had a decent variety of draft beers. Ok, so the selection included three IPAs and one lager. However, IPAs are my beer go-to so it worked for me. The service at the bar was great. Our bartender, Renee, was quite hilarious. I got the sense that this is local "where everybody knows you name" because the customers seemed super social with each other. Looking forward to our next New Deal Cafe visit.

The back room (separated from the front) has the sound stage and additional tables (where patrons and also order and dine while enjoying the music). At the front there is also a big screen tv where the performance is "streamed" from the other space. Cool concept that also works in practice. They have all types of music, open mic, and karaoke. Foodwise they have a menu that is vegan-friendly. A small case of pastries are available as well as wine and beer. A cheesesteak and wings business also seem to be operating in that space. We got drinks (me, green tea) and others also got pastries for dine in. Everything was good and the service was very welcoming. Had to leave before the band started but will catch a performance soon. Great local business!
