This place would have gotten 4 s but the person taking my order went from nice to argumentative? Really Sir... I have been to the location in Forestville and it was a great experience. Now back to the review...I ordered a whiting half sub. I looked up and he placed the dirty cell phone on the counter? then touches the bread with his bare hands . I said SIR...please wash your hands and get gloves. He did so I was like a HAWK watching him make my food. All tomatoes are not created equal because of the ripeness...and how they are cut. I asked to replace two slices with ones that didn't have a core...he didn't understand so I asked the young lady to translate. That's when it became interesting as he stated...I speak English..I was Iike...ok but you clearly didn't understand Sir. He proceeded to finish my sandwich and I noticed he was wearing flip flops? Cooking??? All I wanted was a samich ‍ Well this location is a one-n-done.

Nastiest Fried Shrimp Po Boy ever. A billion onions picked out.

Sadly, this is another one of those Yelp "if I could give zero or negative stars, I would" reviews. Ordered delivery from Shark's using Uber Eats. Simple order of two fish platters with fries and a shrimp Po' Boy. Prices were reasonable and the order was ready and "delivered" within an hour. Would have been better off if the entire delivery was not made. Only one of the two fish platters were included. Notified Uber Eats and they instantly refunded the amount I paid for the missing item. The other fish from the platter that was delivered was cool in temperature to the touch. They use the most skimpy packaging I have seen ever. No wonder the food was not hot. No worries, I just warmed it in the oven. Too bad the flavor was rather forgettable but at least edible. The fries, cold as well, tasted like the kind you would find in a elementary school cafeteria (not in a good way). Still, the fried fish, if warm and delivered as ordered would have garnered two stars. It was just mediocre at best and that is after warning it up and dousing it with Old Bay and hot sauce. The shrimp Po' Boy was an epic fail. It is like the restaurant's cooks never had a decent one before nor were ever trained in how to make a good sub sandwich period. A foot long had only 8 small to medium limp shrimp. The breading tasted like what you might imagine "plain" tasted like. For some reason they pressed the sub so flat the sub roll resembled two end pieces of cheap store brand white bread...only thinner. I asked for onions and sauce (which they add) to be placed on the side. Of course, they were in the sandwich. There literally was a half of a raw white onion in huge slices all throughout the sandwich. The tomato slices were three soggy end pieces (brown and black portions and all). The sauce , wilted lettuce, and subsequent heat pressing made the now thin sandwich just a disgusting mess. Oh, ironically while the fried shrimp were cold, the mayo based sauce, tomatoes, and lettuce were warm. Worst meal I have had (a bit, then the rest in the garbage) in 2020, and that is saying a lot. No need to go on with the review. I requested a full refund, which is pending. I would not recommend Shark's at all. There are other fried fish spots in the area that are leaps and bounds better. Zero stars if I could......

I found this place while I was running errands in the area!! It is located in a very small strip mall sandwiched between a laundry mat and a liquor store...welcome to PG County! Either way, I used my handy dandy Yelp app to check it out before possibly wasting my time! The reviews were ok, so why not? I was greeted by a nice older gentleman and was immediately overwhelmed by the menu! First of all, during Covid times, the tables were blocked for indoor dining! But during normal times, you can dine inside! They have everything from frog legs to fried chicken to burgers to cakes and pies! Needless to say, I kept it simple and order fried chicken! It didn't take long to be ready and the price was very affordable! Now I don't eat in my vehicle, but this chicken smelled soo good, I had to! It was sooo good and was sprinkled with some white powder...now I could say what it looked like...but I won't! It was soo good though! I decided I had to try them again! I've gone multiple times and have tried the fried catfish and fries, Philly cheesesteak sub and burgers!! All of which are very good and made fresh to order! The only thing that threw me off was this "Cajun" rice! That was not cajun at all! AlL in all, I stop by when I'm in the mood for come chicken and it is closer than another new fave of mine! Great place with great food thoughi!

Whole Bone in Croaker

The Fish was pretty good, (Catfish, Cracker, perch) and the wings as well. You only get ONE Catfish and/or Croaker so order additional food as the portion size is not much.. The Cajun rice was great yellow rice as for the Cajun spice? Not there. Great food for those on a diet, ijs... Seriously, portion size is my only complaint-thankfully we did order (1) of the combination plates... Packing? The white boxes gotta go as they were most due to the heat during transport. Would I go back? Yes, I'd just have to request TWO Croacker bone in fish....

Girls night turned full blown main character moment. The DJ understood the assignment and kept the vibe going with straight Lil Kim classics all night. When I tell you we took over the spot, I mean that in the best way possible. The energy was high, the music was right, and the whole place felt like our personal party. Now let's talk food. I ordered the Crack and Peel Seafood Boil and I enjoyed it immensely. Flavor was there, portion was solid, no problems. And listen... I'm obsessed with their wings...well, wings in general lol, but theirs definitely get an A+ from me. They're always a must for me. Service was actually really good too. Staff was attentive, kept up with our group, and didn't miss a beat even with all our extra energy in the building. If you're looking for a chill, quiet dinner...this might not be your Friday or Saturday night spot. But if you want good food, a fun crowd, and a whole vibe, Hook and Reel delivered. I'm still fairly new to the area and had been wanting to try this location for a while, but it's usually been too busy during my previous visits. I stopped by yesterday for happy hour and ordered a seafood boil, and it ended up being one of the worst I've had. Something about it just seemed off, and the flavor was noticeably different from other locations I've visited. I'm not sure what went wrong, but it was disappointing. The only redeeming part of my visit were the happy hour drinks, which honestly made the meal a bit easier to get through. I was really hoping for a better experience and hope this was just an off day.

I was intrigued by the reviews on the Cave Monster crabs ( even though I wanted something a little less daunting to enjoy my Friday evening ) I settled on the Jumbo crabs, 30pc large shrimps, crab dip ( that I could warm up at home ) and this pineapple drink concoction that ended up changing my entire perspective on what a fruit drink should taste like. The jumbo crabs were meaty and had the right amount of juiciness to them ( A- for sure ) the shrimps had that firm texture, with a cool amount of seasoning ( B+ all day ) and the pineapple juice was everything and then more... oh my, I'll go back weekly just to taste this amazing creation ( and eating the actual fruit after I finished the drink was WOW !! ) If you haven't already you have to give this juice a try ( A+++ and more !!! ) The Crab Galley is definitely my go to for my crab cravings to close out the summer...and next weekend I'm going to give the Cave Monster a try !!!!

The crab cakes were very small, and the salmon was about the size of a small block. Even the side of spinach was served in a bowl that wasn't even filled. The name is deceptive. There are so many lunches and dinners to choose from here that are not…read moreseafood, in addition to the abundance of seafood. It's a fact: Mid-Atlantic Seafood can be easily overlooked for non-seafood options, ie where else in the area - or anywhere close ie New Carrolton, Landover Hills, Lanham, Seabrook, Glendale and Greenbelt - can you find at least 8 types of cake slices, 6 cheesecake flavors and 6 pies? The answer is nowhere unless you are at a grocery store or a bakery. I'll go over the types of desserts later. Any entree that comes with sides will give you 30 choices. Which of the 30 sides will you choose?! With so many dining options to choose from, do yourself a favor: flip-thru all of the menu options at the tiny menu monitor to the left of the dessert case before deciding what to eat because out of the 9 gigantic, rotating monitor menus, I didn't as easily see half of what they actually offer. Just go to the small monitor and read about all of the appetizers, salads, entrees and deserts efficiently. Alternatively, visit https://mid-atlanticseafood.com/new-carrollton/ on your phone. Seriously: aside from all of the seafood on the large monitors, you can get turkey, homemade meatloaf, barbecue chicken and ribs. As for the 30 sides to choose from, some are macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and French fries. We loved the mac-n-cheese. And the cheesy potatoes look overly rich but they are not. Really enjoyed those, too. These are classic potatoes au gratin with a bit of extra cheese and a lot of flavor. They also serve diverse varieties of other sides, including lo mein, white rice and cornbread. Not to mention the grilled vegetables, green beans, cheesy broccoli, corn and other options on the massive and never-ending steam table. On the 9 main video screens, you can get more than 7 kinds of fish and choose if you want it fried, baked or grilled. We wanted ours' baked. The waiter recommended to have it grilled because it would take less time and be more tender. We didn't listen to his advice, but he was right. Our baked fish was ok but we would love to come back and taste it grilled. The variety of fish offered is impressive, from ocean perch to salmon to tilapia to flounder to grouper to mahi mahi to whiting. You can also order crabs, snow crab legs and shrimp. Also want to try the stuffed shrimp here. When it says, "stuffed," that means with crabmeat. They have a garlic butter seafood boil here with crab legs, spiced shrimp, andouille chicken sausage, corn, etc. Meow. The chicken comes 4 ways: barbecued, fried or baked and as chicken wings. They have 3 types of pork chops: grilled, fried and smothered with gravy. Their entrees come with a choice of white bread, wheat bread, a potato roll or a slice of cornbread for an upcharge of $1.00. I didn't taste the cornbread on this visit but I'd like to, next time. One team member passionately said it was really good. We tried the mango slaw and it was good but not sweet. I heard the regular cole slaw is even better, so I would like to try that because I'm guessing it's as good as all the rest of their food we tried. I would also like to try the crab fried deviled eggs and the Cajun steamed mussels. Not to mention a lot of other dishes there! And now back to the cakes. They have so many desserts to choose from. I mean: multiple flavors of cakes, cheesecakes, pies, etc. They even have Smith Island cakes, which are a thinly-layered and stacked legendary Chesapeake Bay tradition. The current flavors are chocolate, red velvet and coconut at time of writing. We enjoyed our lemon short cake, the lemon berry marscapone cake and the mixed berry shortcake. Six different flavors of cheesecake, anyone? I'll next try the sweet potato and cinnamon cheesecake, please. They also have 6 kinds of pies including pecan, key lime and cookies and cream. The design of Mid-Atlantic Seafood is understated, clean and simple: counter service, a cold case of desserts and salads, a series of long steam table ms and a small eat-in dining area for maybe 20 people. The restrooms: clean and regularly checked. The staff are all helpful and busy. Good people serving good food! Do consider this a cafeteria, specializing in seafood with an out-of-this-world bakery.
