You order at the end, and find a seat. Your name is called and you pick up at the side counter. The dining area has plenty of seating, a private room looks available to reserve? Dining area & restrooms are bright, clean and inviting. My brother ordered fried fish with a chicken wing,, cabbage and sweet potatoes. He loved the fish & chicken- well seasoned without feeling your blood pressure rise as you indulged- LOL. The sides were good. I did the smothered porkchops - WOW, best that I have had - really enjoyed the main entrée and my sides (greens, black-eye peas). Both meals came with cornbread (another option was a biscuit). I have to say the food, the Staff and the establishment has been my best taste of southern cooking in the DMV area. I ordered chicken wings (6) to go for wife & I to enjoy later. Definitely worth a visit, we will be back - The smothered chops are calling me already. Lunch for two with a take home order of wings & 2 deserts plus tip was around $100.

The fish (catfish and croaker) always tastes like it's been fried in grease that needs changing. There's no flavor profile in the food which is weird for a soul-food restaurant. The mixed veggies were absolutely disgusting-- gave them back. I paid $65 for fried catfish with two sides, fried croaker with two sides, a cookie and two drinks---and sadly, the only thing that was sort of worth it was the cornbread, but it tastes like it has coconut in it. I hate coconut. The item that was the most flavorful for me was the black eyed peas/hoppin John (minus the big pieces of fatty meat in them).

The last few times at the Bowie, Md. restaurant was not a good experience at all…read more The waitress spent more time on her phone, sitting on the counter and complaining to us and other staff about the manager yelling at her than doing her job. We could barely find her when we needed anything. My soup came out cold, and the coffee tasted like it had been sitting there all day, coffee went colder waiting on cream, never got drink refills. Then we were basically told to leave because they were closing in 15 minutes and she needed to cash out her checks/tips. Offering a "to-go box" while husband hadn't finished didn't change the fact that we were rushed out after already having a bad experience. After leaving I noticed they didn't close until 9pm and we were in the car at 8:41pm. We will think twice before choosing this location again. Well not another choice considering all the others have closed in my area. Maybe crap like this is why!

My friend and I go out to breakfast a few times a month (we're both retired). When we got to the restaurant, it was not that busy, but still took a while for some one to come seat us. We got seated, and it was well over 10 minutes, maybe as many as 15, and still no one had been by our table. At about the 10 minute mark, one lady is passing said "your server will be right with you...but 5 minutes later, we still hadn't even been asked for a drink order. So we up and left. The lady I assumed was the manager (as she seemed to be doing most of the work), and the lady who was our waitress (I think) pointedly ignored us. As we walked out, the manager lady just looked at us. A couple of the customers that were eating said they'd been there a while and had finally got their food. And the manager? No "I am sorry", nothing. So we drove an extra 15 minutes to Cracker Barrel in Annapolis, which was very busy, and in spite of being newly opened and still training new staff, managed to seat us immediately, and get our coffee and breakfast orders quickly. Good bye Bob Evans, Hello Cracker Barrel. Never again. And I Only give them 1 star, because to review them, I Have to give them at least 1

We arrived around 3:30 on a Saturday for a late lunch. We were seated immediately and had a very friendly and attentive server, Farah. I ordered the watermelon margarita which came with a cute note attached. We dug into the old bay wings before I remembered to take a picture. They were good and flavorful. I ordered the salmon BLTA. It was okay - not a lot of flavor, but the proportion of bread to salmon definitely didn't match up. I ended up leaving a good portion of bread on my plate. My husband had the fish and chips. Talk about a huge portion- his fish was huge! He said it was good though. My only serious complaint was that the first stall I went to in the ladies room had a broken lock on the door. That's concerning. Fortunately there was a second stall. Hopefully they get that door lock fixed soon though!

The steak was tender, the eggs were cooked just right, and the chimichurri brought a fresh, herby brightness that balanced the richness of the dish. The feta added a nice salty finish that pulled everything together. If I had one small note, the potatoes could have been cooked a little more for a crisper texture, but it didn't take away from the flavor of the dish at all. The overall taste was still very strong, and the components worked really well together. The pancake was another highlight. Huge, fluffy, and beautifully browned, with chocolate chips throughout and just enough sweetness to make it feel indulgent without going overboard. Simple, classic, and very well done. Service made the experience even better. Bria was personable, attentive, and genuinely pleasant throughout the meal. She kept everything moving smoothly and added to the welcoming feel of the visit. Overall, a very solid brunch experience with flavorful food, strong portions, and great service. I'd absolutely come back, and I'd order the Chimichurri Steak and Eggs Hash again.

No long waits to be seated or for a waiter to come and assist you. The ambiance is like any other sports bar/pub. TV's all around for sports and a long bar. towards the bar there's additional long/high chair tables to continue happy hour fellowship or group gatherings. (wish i had pics, can't find them!) I ordered the margarita flight and i asked for LALO tequila in all of the drinks. All of them were pretty interesting. I didn't really like the blood orange margarita, but the others were cool. I decided to order a ribeye steak (never had it before at BJ's decided to step out of my norm) As did my Bf. I was a little disappointed when received our food because our steaks were different shapes/thickness, too salty & not properly cooked to our preferred doneness. We brought this up to our waitress and asked for the Head Chef to re-make the steaks. She apologized and sent it back. In the interim, we enjoyed hot honey wings & you can never go wrong with the wings! no complaints, always a solid choice. The kitchen brought us both fresh steaks, and asked us was it cooked to our liking. The ribeyes looked like ribeyes, and rather than less seasoning, it tasted like there wasn't any seasoning at all. It was better than before but not 100%. However we agreed to avoid feeling like we are complaining too much. We continued our meal, paid, tipped & left. This felt like an honest accident as this location was fairly busy due to graduation season in the area. I also felt like I couldn't expect steakhouse quality from a tavern-styled restaurant. Moreover, it's BJ's food is good for what you get. I do enjoy BJ's, I do enjoy sticking to the food I know from there, and will see myself visiting again.

It was steady, attentive, and friendly without feeling rushed--which honestly matched the vibe perfectly. If you come in expecting lightning-fast turnaround, you're in the wrong mindset. Come to enjoy your time. Now let's talk food. I ordered the steak, and it did not disappoint--well-seasoned, flavorful, and cooked just right. But the real surprise? That biscuit and butter. Listen... I could've made a whole meal out of that alone. And the mimosas? Nice and light--exactly how our group likes them. I didn't get the oxtail and grits, but I didn't need to. One look across the table told me everything I needed to know--full-on bowl-to-the-chin action. If you know, you know.
