Chicken and beef terryaki combo @yufoodjournal

Always wanted to try this place! I ordered the combo beef and chicken terryaki. There was a good amount of meat and sauce and the beef was quite tender! They were a little too salty though and I wish they'd provided more rice for the extra sauce. But overall a pretty good experience and a great spot for your terryaki cravings!

I miss Seattle. Not because of the location, or the people, or anything like that; I miss Nasai Teriyaki. I've been searching for a comparable teriyaki place in California (from San Diego up to the Bay Area), but to no avail. This is hands down my favorite food spot in the entire Pacific Northwest. I can't wait for the next time I'm in Washington so my taste buds can finally be fulfilled.

Quick and delicious. Give them a chance when you're looking to eat some teriyaki. Parking might be a bit tight but worth it.

For the ramen, I got the monthly special of miso butter hamari steak ramen and the broth was super flavorful and rich but a bit heavy for me. He immediately asked for chili oil for any flavor and even contemplated adding salt. I tried it and agreed as well, it tasted very boring. We also think they don't eliminate cross contamination when they cook the gluten free noodles as my partner got a very bad headache after eating. Would not recommend for people with gluten allergy or sensitivity

We ordered only from the happy hour menu because they had a ton of good sounding options there. The yakiton came first and was really greasy and black peppery. The yakitori meat was smaller than the chicken skewers I've gotten at Southeast Asian restaurants in the Seattle area, but these ones had a softer texture like teriyaki chicken. The kalbi beef was inconsistent. One of our plates had large pieces, while the other plate was full of small pieces. The smaller kalbi was drier. The bigger kalbi was chewier. I'd stick to ordering kalbi from Korean restaurants where the meat is more tender and easier to eat. The best item we ordered was the crispy chicken wings. They really were crispy - nothing like I've had before in terms of crispiness. Next time I would try the JFC to compare. Something that I didn't like was that they put both orders of the wings on the same plate instead of splitting them up. They split up the kalbi plates, but nothing else. It was ok to combine the skewers because they're so tiny, but the wings were almost falling off the plate they were on and very close to being a bad jenga situation with how they were placed.

Tempura and miso was run off the mill, some nigri knocked it out of the ballpark such as toro, while other cuts were again standard. The uni looked darker than anything I've seen before and tasted, shall we say, a bit dry and potent. The rolls were okay, one better; the other had a bit of a fishy sub-aroma and was half left-over. Service was lackluster; the guy was a bit spaced out. The miso soup was forgotten, so was another order of sashimi. Also, we re-ordered some fatty tuna nigri but got served something horrible (like a piece of old, lean tuna instead) - here my spider sense was ringing as if we were intentially slipped some other cut ("they wont know the difference"). Or our server or the chef was slipping. Lackluster service and some fishyness gets a 3 star rating - could have been better and fresher. Not likely to return. Ambiance was middle of the road, neither loading ramp nor dark and cozy. They only have tables and counter seating, no booths. Of note, there is a bar across the street where they made a couple of nice after dinner cocktails - the better part of the evening.
