    Esquite

The food is great I got the beef teriyaki my bf got the chicken combo katsu and we got the esquite dish the food is absolutely good the esquite could use a little more lime in my opinion, the portions are crazy! Not sure if it's because we went before closing but will try again during a dinner rush, the service was great, the seating was sit back like your not there for a long time but your there for some good food, ambiance very humble and great really laid back

First time here. It's very close to my gym so I stopped in for a takeaway lunch based on a thumbs up from the chef Kenji Lopez Alt. Unlike some other reviews my experience was very good, granted it was early and they weren't busy yet. The gentleman at the count was friendly and welcoming. I ordered the chicken teriyaki with gyoza and waited 5 or 6 minutes for it to arrive. As with most Seattle teriyaki the portion was huge, with 5 gyozas and lots of white rice, chicken and salad, accompanied by two sauce containers and a third with salad dressing. The salad is cabbage, which may bother some folks, but I thought it was good, topped with the typical sweet mayo dressing. The gyozas were crispy, not greasy and just fine. Both the chicken and rice tasted fresh and the sauces were good. For me this was enough for two meals so the price was right at around $17. I'll definitely be stopping by again!

Great portion, supreme quality, the restaurant is very spacious and I love how it is not very clustered. I got the chicken teriyaki and pulled pork teriyaki, the meat is very tender and rice was really soft and tasty.

Surprisingly good portions, better than most in taste, and at a good price. We had the beef pho, chicken pho and the chicken katsu curry rice. It was packed to go, but unfortunately, the soup and noodles were together - not good if you want the noodles to not expand too much once you get home. In all a relatively ok spot for a quick fix.

We ordered delivery from them and were pleased with the curry choices. Limited menu but solid choices. The gyoza was tasty and so was the curry. They offered grilled chicken and katsu, as well as pork and shrimp options. You can also get curry udon if that's your jam. You can also designate the spiciness of your curries. Would definitely order from there again!

    Teriyaki chicken Yakisoba to go

I've had a lot teriyaki over the years. This got to be the worst Teriyaki I've ever had. If there wad a 0 star rating I would give it to them. So my favorite teriyaki restaurant was closed, I thought give this place a try. We ordered chicken Yakisoba, and teriyaki chicken with rice. The teriyaki favor was way off! The flavor was NOT teriyaki, was something else. It doesn't not have the traditional sweet gingery sesame oil teriyaki flavor, it was bitter. The chicken in the noodles taste like old meat, Yuck. So we barely ate any, I sarcastically ask my hubby if he wants take some to work for lunch, the answer was a solid and firm "No".

Pretty good for its spot on Aurora. You get what you pay for and then some. With sides as low as 4 bucks, it won't hurt your wallet. Gyoza is too notch. Pho noodles are thinner than my liking, but the broth and meat is rocking nonetheless. The lobby is the cleanest thing you will see on Aurora, with a calm vibe. Stop in if you're tight on cash but still want some good food.

Stopped in while waiting for my car at Midas .. Fast service and ordered a lunch special ( from 11-3 ) Chicken Teriyaki and Gyoza Special. It was tasty the chicken was perfectly tasty and food. The Gyoza's were ok but the dipping sauce was delicious .. The Teriyaki Sauce was ok a little heavy.. It was a nice experience for lunch the place is clean although the menu is really expensive for this type of food definitely come back for lunch ....

It doesn't look like much from the outside so I was pleasantly surprised by the inside. It was quite spacious with beautiful art pieces throughout the place. A lot of wood that gave it a bar like vibe too. We were greeted upon entry and immediately sat down. They have a decent amount of sushi options available. We decided to get three rolls: The Green Dragon Roll, The Godzilla roll, and the Dragon Roll. They were all flavored nicely with sauces drizzled on top of the sushi. The only thing that maybe I didn't like so much was the Green Dragon roll having a little too much avocado on top. We didn't have to wait long to order or for the food to come. I would very much consider this spot to be a hidden gem!

But I also want them to succeed and always be around, so here I am, writing a review. Modern Japanese is takeout only. I think they went this way during the COVID pandemic and never went back to offering dine-in. My hubs and I love their bento boxes, especially the salmon kama (grilled salmon collar). It comes with rice, salad, small California roll, edamame, pickled ginger, pickled vegetable, and miso soup. The staff was excellent super friendly, helpful, and quick with taking orders, clearing dishes, and swapping out the grill without us ever having to ask. For just $5 more, the premium menu is 100% worth it especially for the wagyu. Everything we tried was delicious, but our favorites were the wagyu cubes and the lollipop lamb chops. On top of that, they offer a salad bar, fruit/dessert, and a sauce station to round out the meal. The atmosphere was another highlight: modern, clean, and comfortable, which made the experience even better. The noodles were also a good al dente and had the right bite and chew. I got the shio ramen at low sodium which was the right balance. A lot of time the shio at other places is too salty. As far as service goes, it was also great. Only authentic Japanese places great with Irashimae and this place did it.
