Gyoza/pot stickers pretty much standard wherever you go. But the egg rolls! Wow! Spendy! $7 each? Really? OMG the best I've ever had. The shrimp fried rice--awesome. The chicken katsu here is one of the best katsus I've had in the Seattle area. The pieces are thick and juicy. I've only ever gotten the chicken katsu plate from here, but it's worth it if you love a good chicken katsu. read more

I spent $20 on a chicken bento plate and just ended up throwing most of it away. The gyoza was undercooked. The chicken was limp and under-grilled and didn't have enough teriyaki sauce. The absolute worst thing was the sushi. Their sushi is salty and awful. Sushi should NOT be salty like that. You guys need to completely throw away your sushi recipe and start over because your sushi is borderline inedible. read more

This is a pretty average teriyaki place. Prices were decent, especially if you get one of their lunch specials. I will say, this is one of the more disappointing teriyaki places that I have visited so far in the North end of Seattle. Prices here are a tad bit higher than most places and the variety/options of food offered are pretty standard. With angry growling tummies for food, my mom and I stopped by here to try this place out. Ordered a unagi (eel) bento and a sauteed tofu dish with veggies. Verdict of both food: Too much salt. After making a few trips to get additional cups of water, I did find it a bit difficult to finish my meal without feeling parched. At a price of $14 for a simple bento (it's normally around $13, but for a dollar extra, you can upgrade from chicken to pork teriyaki), I didn't enjoy it too much. The pork teriyaki looked and tasted undercooked and lacked any real flavor to it other than the saltiness. As for the unagi rolls, the rice was cold and the fish wasn't too fresh. Salad itself was plain with barely any dressing (no yummy typical white/mayo sauce) and overall, a very disappointing dish. As for the tofu dish, the tofu itself was quite smushy and despite us requesting for the dish to be spicy, it turned out to be more salt than anything else. Upside to this restaurant: It's clean, free hot tea / water, and there are a variety of sauces / other things you can add to your dish. Wait time was a bit long and the parking lot out front is pretty limited. Perhaps my mom and I ordered the wrong things here but in comparison to the many other competing teriyaki joints in the neighborhood, I won't make another stop here any time soon. read more

Fairly small operation. One lady taking orders and what seemed to be only one guy cooking in the back. A bit weird for being right in the dinner rush but I do credit them for keeping up with orders called ahead and those of us in person. The teriyaki chicken was underwhelming. The "salad" was a few pieces of mixed lettuce. There was a thick bed of rice, which on one hand was nice but it also threw off the ratio of chicken to rice. I should have known better. I was craving spicy teriyaki so on my lunch break I was going to go to I Love Bento because I know their spicy teriyaki is good... I decided it was too far away from work to venture on my lunch hour. BIG mistake. Huge. It was absolutely disgusting. The spicy teriyaki had a decent flavor, very spicy... but I could NOT get passed the nasty fatty pieces!! Ewww. My favorite teriyaki place in Seattle. The chicken has a nice chargrilled flavor and isn't overly sauced (extra sauce on side for people that prefer it). The rice is actually sushi rice (has more of a tangy vinegary taste than regular rice). Consistently good. Nice family run restaurant. There are so many teriyaki places but I truly enjoy this one. They have a variety of Asian dishes. My favorite is the bento box which has a selection of choices with meat, California roll sushi, tempura & gyozas. I also enjoy their stir fry. I work across the street from Teriyaki Plus and had left my lunch at home so I was in desperate need for some food. I ordered their special of the day to-go and it cost me around $9, which is not bad for the quality of the food. However, with that being said, my meal was "meh" I ate it because I was starving and didn't have enough time to drive elsewhere. The salad that came with the teriyaki was very watery and the lettuce had brown spots on them (maybe cause it was old?), the chicken and rice was fine, nothing amazing, and the gyoza was really crunchy on the outside which i didn't really like. I'm confused why this place has such low ratings. Clearly if you are at a dive teriyaki spot, you should order teriyaki. I love this place, and even after I moved out of the area, I continue to go. Nothing beats the price, quantity and the flavor their chicken has. I also haven't been able to find another teriyaki place that cooks their gyoza the same way as Teriyaki Plus. Edit: my review below is still 100% accurate, but I have been back a couple of times and the service has been much better. As always, the food is delicious and the prices are good for how much food you get. This use to be one of my favorite, easy 'I don't want to cook tonight', places but tonight may have sworn me off for good. The place was fairly empty when I ordered but I ended up waiting 35 minutes for my food while I watched the owner serve someone who came in AFTER ME the same food I had ordered. She spent almost 20 minutes in some kind of business transaction with the woman she served ahead of me. When I asked how much longer she said it was ready, and then proceeded to take another 10 minutes to get my order ready. I wish I hadn't payed first, because I would have left without my order. So moral of the story, pay after you get your food I do have to say, the food still tasted decent for the most part, but the egg rolls were burned while she was busy doing personal business instead of serving her customers read more

I live pretty close to this place but only recently tried it out for the first time. I think the next time I'm starving...I'll keep on driving. The menu is vast and all the pictures make the food look quite tasty...but really, it's nothing special at all and for the most part, not that good. I had a spicy chicken and mushroom dish, that was pretty much all mushrooms and super bland. My hubby got a bento that had chicken terriyaki with unagi rolls - not that appetizing. Really disappointed with my order. It came in record time but that was the only plus. When I opened the box that the food was in, my chicken didn't look cooked all the way. All the displayed pictures are extremely deceiving. My boyfriend got spicy chicken and mushroom because the picture looked amazing. We go on a regular basis with our usual order: yakisoba, chicken teriyaki and beef ribs. Overall, these choices are good. The meat quality is good. But I'd skip the "sushi" and some of the other dishes. The people are nice - a real family running a family quick-service restaurant. I have to give this place 5 stars for their teriyaki. Why? Because the quality of the food is good. The portion sizes are good. The price is reasonable. They are reasonably quick so you can come here during your lunch hour. They offer brown rice substitution for $1 more. The meats are char grilled for added flavor. They offer both Teriyaki sauce and a spicy hot sauce if you want a little zing. Some of the meals have a small salad included and some also have gyoza (fried Japanese dumplings). They have an extended menu including some Japanese, Korean, and Chinese items to choose from if you desire something other than Terriyaki This is a pretty good teriyaki place and value. read more

This Teriyaki Plus has a completely different menu than the one on Roosevelt. I'm not sure if they even have the same owner any more. This one is a little fancier than the U District spot. Carnivores can still delight in Teriyaki Plus's famous beef and chicken kabobs, but vegetarians (and we enjoy veggie gyoza or veggie spring rolls at the U District location) must adjust are way of a-thinkin' and order veggie sautée. The veggie saute is gigantic (it serves two!) and delicious. The U District Teriyaki Plus shares a strip mall with Ly's Donuts, but there's even better news for Northgate teriyaki and donut lovers. This Teriyaki Plus is in the same strip mall as the celebrated FAMILY DONUT. So here's the scoop: Take your date out to dinner at this TP. The posh interior hides the strip mall's parking lot nicely. Split a VEGGIE SAUTÉE. For dessert, head on over to FAMILY DONUT and order ANYTHING. You can't go wrong. read more

The portion size helps a bit, but the chicken is kind of dry and the sauce is a little sweet. Gyoza is a pleasant addition. Dont, I repeat DON'T get the sushi....just not any good! I visited Teriyaki Plus for exactly two reasons: I wanted dinner one evening, and I had exhausted all the restaurants in the area except this one. This place is good but not absolutely remarkable. I ordered a chicken teriyaki that was ready in six minutes. It came to-go in a cardboard box with the chicken over white rice and salad to the side. One compartment of that box was empty, although I don't know what else they would have put in it.
