Mike called the day of his visit to assure I was home. He arrived on time, even a little ahead of time, to get underway. His task wasn't easy; the unfinished basement represents a difficult crawl-space, but Mike was undaunted. Within twenty minutes he had completed his inspection and reported everything was in order. Then came topside to examine the Trane control unit. He explained why the fan function had been running continuously and why heating may have discontinued due to a lock-out function when the tank is empty and no gas is detected. And also what to do to re-initiate the system should I need to. A very helpful service tech! As to value, the price I paid for this service visit was quite reasonable. Less than weekly groceries. Mike was a friendly and knowledgible service agent and I hope Mike's Heating and Cooling will keep him on staff for next year's visit!

Phoned Mike's Heating & Cooling (MHC) third week in March 2024 to get a quote on a replacement…read morefurnace, my furnace was 25 years old, but worked. I like being proactive in terms of home infrastructures. I phoned MHC to set up a consult appointment, an effortless process. Forest, MHC sales consultant, was at the house within a couple days, looked at the entire unit, measured up, and shared with me his recommendations...now mind you, I had priced out the total cost of the replacement prior to his visit and had a cost range in mind. Forest said he would get back to me by day's end with a job quote, and he did. His quote came back within my cost range and I signed a contract (wrote a check for 50% down payment, which is normal). A few days later, as scheduled, MHC technicians promptly showed up, Josie & Tyler...Forest also showed up to introduce them to me and summarize the replacement job. MHC removed and discarded the old unit. Then, two MHC electricians showed up to install the electrical components for the new unit. This took approximately an hour and a half. Then, Josie & Tyler got to work with the new unit install. They were very diligent in their work and it was clear they knew the task at hand. I should point out that Josie was the lead technician and was "teaching" Tyler throughout the entire process. The entire replacement process took approximately 7 hours. They did install a new, short duct run, so the job took a little longer than a normal replacement. Forest returned at the completion of the replacement to fire up the new unit and make sure I was pleased with the entire process. Two thumbs up to Mike's Heating & Cooling and to their team(s) of knowledgeable professionals...and a BIG Shot Out to Forest, Josie, Tyler, and the MHC electricians. A job well done! I highly recommend Mike's Heating & Cooling to anyone in need of HVAC work. Tom in Waynesville. NC

After coming back from Christmas break, we noticed a damp, dank smell in the water heater closet…read more As best I could discern, there had been something (I thought it was the water heater) leaking for about 2 weeks. I called Ward Plumbing and was given an appointment a few days later. Given that I believed the water heater was the culprit, I told the scheduler what size and capacity water heater I had. The service teach came out and checked the water heater and said it was actually fine but there was a pipe that had metal fittings that was leaking. Either way the water heater was going to need to be removed to repair the pipe and given the age of our unit, I opted to have it replaced with a unit they brought out with them. They cut out the soaked drywall that needed to be replaced and made an appointment for replacing it two weeks later. I did have a cancelled appointment due to the service tech having vehicle trouble when he was coming back to replace the drywall, but I was notified and the appointment was rescheduled for 3 days later. I have found this company to be professional and competent and given the rural area I live in, I value someone competent showing up and doing quality work at my residence. While they might not be the cheapest option for plumbers, I have confidence in the work and their warranty behind said work.

Dec 23,2024 they installed/replaced toliet with standard elongated model comfort height including a thorough check of water shutoff and water supply line, as well as a new wax seal and hardware. Cost was $775.15 Yesterday they installed toliet in my master bathroom with exact same description of work as for my guest bathroom Dec 23,2024. Cost was $1,601.76. They also found i needed new flange at additional $514.02 cost. Total cost was $2,115.78 I will continue to use Wards for future work, I am just highly disappointed in their flat rate process which by comparison with other companies is overpriced and unreasonable.

Their scheduling service repeatedly scheduled late appointments when technicians weren't available, causing them to cancel at the last minute 2 days in a row, leaving us with a non functional HVAC during hot weather. We have now failed two inspections. The first failure was due to insufficient wiring. The second failure was due to loose connectors and because not all of the work performed was properly disclosed on the permit. The inspection failed again as a result. This has caused significant delays to our renovation, and we are now unable to submit another permit until these issues are resolved. Electrical work is a major part of an HVAC installation, and repeated inspection failures are a serious red flag. The crew also left construction debris and trash behind, further reflecting a lack of professionalism and attention to detail. Based on this experience, I strongly advise against using this company, especially for electrical work. Look elsewhere and save yourself the hassle of correcting substandard work.
