I love Nashoba, I go every weekend for a drink, currant scone, and a loaf of fresh bread. Yes, the bread is sold in groceries stores, but buying it from the bakery is cheaper, fresher, and lasts even longer. I buy a loaf, pop it in the fridge, and it lasts for WEEKS. Amazing. Their soups are great, especially the buffalo chicken soup, which I've only seen once, PLEASE bring this soup back on a weekly basis! They also offer a bread and coffee card-- after 10 punches, you get one free! I had to subtract one star since my lattes have been burned a few times and service can be a little slow if crowded. I had been to west concord many times in the last few months and had no idea that this was here - it took a conversation with a customer to inform me that this building past the end of the retail district is where to find the store. You kind of need to know what you are looking for, it is not readily visible if you are driving or even walking - since it is set back from the main road. I was there late in the day but wanted to stop in to get an idea of what they offer. Obviously there is a lot of bread, and it can be sliced, whole or half loaves, baguettes and dinner sized rolls. They also make sandwiches from 11-2 and have a big case of desserts - cakes, cookies, pies, tea cakes - but only a few are actually made in house --- and not sure where the others are made. There are also salads and other selections in the case. You can also find a variety of locally made jams, and a list of beverages to chose from to take to-go or stay. There is a large selection of seating that range from small bistro tables, 2 person hi-tops along the wall and big couches in the back - a quiet area to catch up on reading, with a friend or a relaxing lunch hour. I figured a good first purchase would be a baguette, and for a few dollars you can get a good baguette. I had a slice when I got home - it has a nice chewy interior with a slighty crunchy shell. I used it for bruschetta the next day and made a great breakfast sandwich sunday morning -- Now I know where to find this place I plan on going back to try some more bread - but I will be there earlier to have a better selection. read more

The ONLY reason I give this place 4 out of 5 stars is because of the lack of seating and location. I've never had a huge issue with it, but the possibility of not getting a seat or parking space (especially on a weekend morning) is seriously there. The food is incredible. Ok! This is my favorite coffee, tea, sandwich, or egg plate place in all of New England. It's so cozy you won't want to leave. Views of Nashoba brook from big open windows, and btw they are sealed close. I meant "open" as in a unimpeded open view. They have many birdfeeders just outside the window. For me it doesn't get any more tranguil and serene than sipping coffee and enjoying a thick slice of homemade sourdough toast with just the right amount of creamy butter, and watching the birds. If you do manage to leave, take a loaf of their aromatic and delectable breads home with you. read more

A really good bakery we almost couldn't find. Might be the place that finally makes me get GPS. Had the #9 (Cheddar, Apple, Arugula & Honey Mustard). Comes with Harvest bread, but I opted for sourdough. It was a great sandwich. Is that honey mustard or just drizzled honey? I'm going to have to try that at home. I also had an expensive but delicious pumpkin spice latte. Tasted authentic, not overdone and fakey chemical-lab flavored. I'll be back for the baked goods.. coconut cream cake, tarts, etc. As far as the physical space goes, it's not the largest space,and definitely not great for groups larger than three during the cooler months. Best bakery for bread in the area, truly excellent. Pastries and espresso are also very good. Breakfast options are more limited than a traditional sit down place but I've enjoyed them. I had lunch there only once and found it a bit expensive. I love bringing my two young boys here on weekend mornings and sitting outside by the brook. This is a working bakery (not a restaurant) that excels in making bread but also serves sandwiches and baked goods. read more

Love their sandwiches, love their bread. A little overpriced. (Especially the bread). Their number 3 sandwich is great: smoked turkey, wasabi aioli, shredded carrots and avacado on sourdough. Their quiches weren't that great. Some of the younger kids are a little negligent. I would strongly recommend they get either a soda fountain or better beverage choices because the ones they have are pretty boring or strange. Meh. This place is obviously beloved by many and the vibe is great but my food was mediocre. There are outside tables by a stream which are very nice. Curried chicken sandwich: the bread was thin, dry, and way too light and airy. The chicken salad came in a too-huge blob that was just dropped between the two slices and overwhelmed the bread. Mediocre. Chocolate cupcake: ridiculously huge mound of cold hard frosting that just didn't work and was physically difficult to ingest in combination with the cake section. read more

Found this place on a whim after a doctor's appointment in Acton. I've been on the hunt for a good sandwich/coffee place out this way for awhile now and found this one on Yelp. I decided to try it out....when I could find it. It's tough to find and I would recommend they put a sign near the road. Thankfully I found it and was NOT disappointed. The cafe was pretty large and a bit hectic, but definitely packed (in a good way). Despite the crowds I put in my order pretty soon after I arrived. I ordered the tuna salad sandwich and opted for tomatoes and to be toasted. Oh my goodness it's so good. If you love pickles then you will love the tuna salad because they put sandwich pickles in it. It's not mayo-heavy and you can tell it's good quality tuna. Best tuna salad I've ever had and will definitely be back! read more

This café looks a little bit sketchy from the outside, but the inside is very comfortable and homey. Kind of a central perk vibe, there's some couches in the back and tables up front. The food is really good (especially the chicken pot pie and their fresh bread!) but the place is usually very full, especially on weekends. Their sandwich board is very inclusive and adjustments can be made quite easily without extra charge. Staff is extremely polite and the kitchen works very quickly. read more

Nashoba Brook Bakery is the best bakery and cafe I have ever been to, hands down. I've eaten there at least 6 or 7 times, and had soups, sandwiches, pastries, bread, and coffee, and each visit was a "5 star" (out of 5) meal. My personal fav is their scones! Plus the garlic aioli is great on just about any sandwich. The only downside is that it's crowded around peak lunchtime and has very limited seating, but who cares because the food is so ridiculously good! read more

I agree with another recent poster -- their bread is good, but the amount of filling is poor. I got their chicken with cranberries and other stuff salad on sourdough bread. And that's all it was: 1 medium size scoop of filling on two pieces of bread. No lettuce, tomato, chips, just a pickle spear. That plus a Snapple came to $10. They don't post their sandwich prices or their drink prices, but it's very pricey for what you get. Their pastries are expensive as well -- $2.75 for a small-ish pumpkin spice muffin - my husband said is was very good but left him hungry for more. I did buy a loaf of the sourdough bread and it's good, nothing spectacular though. The staff acts as if they're doing you a favor -- we stood at the counter for a while waiting for someone to come back to take our orders [which, to give them credit, came back very quickly; of course see above and it's obvious why!] and during a busy rush hour that's inexcusable. Will go somewhere else for lunch next time. read more

This is a hidden gem. Interesting variety of great sandwiches and other things, not the same old stuff. Good ingredients and of course good bread. Sometimes an item may seem a little pricey for what it is but generally worth it. Can be kind of tight and crowded at prime time as far as the line or finding an open table. Parking in lot off Commonwealth Ave is limited, but lots more in the lot off Winthrop street on the other side of the brook - no more obvious than the location of the place itself, but simple enough once you know about it. (That lot has also been tight on space sometimes lately, but once construction is done on the new complex they're building hopefully that won't be a problem any more.) read more
